Jerry Smith
MUSKOGEE, Okla. — Jerry Lee Smith, 55, of Muskogee, Okla., died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, in Muskogee. He was born Jan. 6, 1947, in Cherokee County. He was a truck driver for Shanks Trucking and a Baptist.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Gore with burial at Redbird Smith cemetery north of Vian.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; two sons, Cameron Wayne Smith of Edmond, Okla., and Carlon Wayne Smith of Granite, Okla.; three sisters, Wilma Robertson of Blackgum, Okla., Clara Hardin and Leota Garrett, both of Muskogee, Okla.; and four grandchildren.
The body may be viewed 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Climmie Gosvener
Climmie Louise Gosvener, 77, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She was the widow of Carlos Gosvener.
No services will be held. The body will be cremated under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Leta Redford of Anderson, Calif.; a son, William Gregory of Bakersfield, Calif.; a sister, Lorene Stover of Jay, Okla.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Beulah Cordle
KEOTA — Beulah M. Cordle, 87, of Keota died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, in Stigler. She was the widow of Wilburn Cordle.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Iron Bridge Free Will Baptist Church with burial at Keota City cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Stigler.
She is survived by a daughter, Freeda Doss of Stigler; a son, Glyn Cordle of Broken Arrow, Okla.; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy and Glyn Doss, David, Steve and Jeff Cordle.

Kevin Leakey
DYER — Kevin Lee Leakey, 23, of Dyer died Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, in Ozark. He was an electrician for Cool Breeze.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Ocker Funeral Home Chapel in Alma. The body will be cremated.
He is survived by his mother, Vickie Leakey of Altus; his father and stepmother, Rick and Hope Leakey of Dyer; a sister, Rachel Lopez of Dyer; two brothers, Harley Daniel Leakey of Dyer and Ricky Leakey of Clarksville; paternal grandmother, Cuba Leakey of Dyer; maternal grandmother, Mable Vick of Altus; maternal grandfather and stepgrandmother, Clayton and Bessie Vick of Yancyville, N.C.; and a companion, Amber Arron of Dyer.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at funeral home.

Jimmy Jones
ALTUS — Jimmy Jones, 60, of Altus died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 20202, in Coal Hill. He was a master Chrysler technician with Hagans Dodge, an elder and member of Ozark Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and a member of Ozark MOPAR Club.
Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby; a daughter, Rhonda Musgrove of Grand Junction, Colo.; a son, Kyle Jones of Fayetteville; his father, Benard Jones of Altus; a sister, Elaine Jones of Altus; and two grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ronnie Jones
ALTUS — Ronnie Jones, 37, of Altus died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was a master Chrysler technician with Hagans Dodge, a elder and member of Ozark Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, a member of Ozark MOPAR Club and the Altus Rural Fire Department.
Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa; a daughter, Shelby Jones of Altus; a son, Nathan Jones of Altus; his mother, Ruby Jones of Altus; a sister, Rhonda Musgrove of Grand Junction, Colo.; a brother, Kyle Jones of Fayetteville; paternal grandfather, Benard Jones of Altus; and maternal grandparents, LaVelle and Juanita Caplinger of Altus.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Vivian Brooks Danley
Vivian Brooks Danley, 82, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002. She was born Feb. 21, 1929, in Lonelm. She worked for various employers in retail sales for 30 years and was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Ivanhoe, Calif. She was loved and will be missed by many relatives and friends, including descendants of Thomas J. and Laura McKee, Elba Shaver Wisdom, James S. and Nancy Cox Brooks. Her parents were the Rev. E.C. and Nola Wisdom Brooks; and her brothers were Girvis, Homer and Edward Brooks.
A graduate of Mulberry Schools, she married L.D. Danley Jr., son of Luther and Exie Viola Danley. All resided in the Mulberry area. During World War II, the family established homes in Visalia, Calif., later moving to Barstow, Calif. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, caring, considerate daughter and sister.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, L.D. “Luther” Danley of Barstow, Calif.; a daughter, Teresa Parrott and her husband, Robert of Visalia, Calif.; a son, Danny W. Danley and his wife, Sharon of Barstow, Calif.; four granddaughters, Amber Baskin of Sitka, Alaska, Tami Ambridge of Quakertown, Pa., Jennifer and Kristina Parrott, both of Tulare, Calif.; two grandsons, Greg Giraudi of Ladera Ranch, Calif., and Michael Danley of Barstow, Calif.; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Thursday at Mead Mortuary in Barstow, Calif., with burial at Riverside Veterans National cemetery in Riverside, Calif.

Albert Lovell
Albert Lovell, 64, of Spiro died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002, in Fort Smith. He was preceded in death by his father and one son, Ronnie Lovell.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at New Hope cemetery with the Rev. Clifford Myers officiating under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.
He is survived by his wife, Alice of the home; three stepdaughters, Cindy McElyea of Spiro, Linda Lensindy of Fort Smith and Elaine Richard of Bokoshe; three stepsons, Bobby York of Panama, James Harper of Pocola and Glenn Shepard of Van Buren; his mother, May Lovell of Pocola; two sisters, Mildred Myers of Pocola and Geneva Powell of California; a brother, Bobby Lovell of Pocola; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.

Susan Elaine Walton Gasper
Susan Elaine Walton Gasper, 48, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was a postal worker for the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years. She was a 1972 graduate from Southside High School and a member of the National Honor Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert E. Walton, Anita P. Springstun and Jewell E. Fort; and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert E. Walton Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. William Jennings.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Gasper; a daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Gasper of Fort Smith; a son, Henry Francis Gasper of Fort Smith; three sisters, Connie Robson of Marengo, Ohio, Judy Ruby of Boston and Patty Campbell of Marion, Ohio; three brothers, Jerry L. Shook of Delaware, Ohio, John Springstun of Kentucky and Albert E. Walton III of Fort Smith; and a nephew, Albert E. Walton IV.
Memorial contributions may be made to Diabetes Association, 212 Natural Resources Drive, Little Rock, AR 72205.

Jeanette St. Amant
Jeanette St. Amant, 96, of Greenwood died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, in a Greenwood nursing home. She was a homemaker, a Christian, a member of Greenwood United Methodist church and a former member of Presbyterian Church in Ontario, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Patrick St. Amant.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Greenwood United Methodist Church with burial at Liberty cemetery in Greenwood under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
She is survived by a son, Jim St. Amant and daugther-in-law, Ebbie of Greenwood; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Rick Martin, John Santa Ana, Robert Thomas, Robert Nolan, Roger Schmidt and Stan Brown.
The body may be viewed 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Benham James
MULBERRY — Benham D. James, 84, of Mulberry died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, in a hospital. He was a member of the Assembly of God in Mulberry, an Army veteran of World War II and a retired farmer.
Funeral with military honors will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Assembly of God in Mulberry with burial at New cemetery in Mulberry under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
He is survived by his wife, Irene; three daughters, Shirley Tweedy and Lavern Davis, both of Mulberry, and Frances Roe of Barling; a sister, Louise Brant of Bartlesville; two brothers, Jack and Claudie, both of Mulberry; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Keith, Kent and Kendall Moore, Heath and Aaron Roe and Barry James.
The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Jimmy Terrill
Jimmy Terrill, 59, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born Feb. 10, 1943, in Fort Smith. He was a retired employee of St. Edward Mercy Medical Center and an Army veteran of Vietnam.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his companion, Norene; his mother, Gladys Carpenter of Fort Smith; a sister, Norma Boone of Barling; and two brothers, Robert of Alma and Carl Wayne of Fort Smith.
The body may be viewed starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Bill Dyer
ROLAND — Bill J. Dyer, 78, of Roland died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, in Fort Smith. He was retired from Baldor as a supervisor after 28 years of service. He was a member of VFW Post No. 8384 in Muldrow and the American Legion Post in Roland and a former mayor of Roland. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He served as a baseball coach for the Babe Ruth and American Legion teams for 10 years.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Victory Temple Pentecostal Church in Roland with burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post No. 8384.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; a daughter, Beverly Falkner of Fort Smith; a son, Jerry Dyer of Wilburton, Okla.; a sister, Alta Hyles of Muldrow; three brothers, Buck of Drumright, Okla., Truman of Muldrow and Bradley of Gans; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Fred Elkins, Jay, Joe and Gary Dyer, Heath Elsinger, Eddie George, Joe Shamblin and Jack O’Neal.
Honorary pallbearers will be the adult senior Sunday school class at Victory Temple Pentecostal Church.
The family will visit with friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Hazel Perceful
POTEAU — Hazel M. Perceful, 74, of Poteau died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of First Assembly of God in Poteau. She was the widow of Jack Perceful.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Assembly of God in Poteau with burial at Monroe cemetery in Monroe under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by five daughters, Dorothy, Jane, Shirley, Sheila and Joyce; two stepdaughters, Joyce DuVall of Tulsa and Brenda Irving of Fort Smith; and three stepsons, Norman Perceful of Fort Smith and Rick and Harold Perceful, both of Tulsa.
Pallbearers will be Don Logan, Paul Hodgens, John Paul Perceful, Damon Harris, Jeff Calloway and Vernard Knight.

Laverne McCoy
Laverne McCoy, 86, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, in a local nursing home. She was a retired registered nurse and supervisor at the Veteran’s Hospital in Little Rock. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Little Rock and a graduate of Van Buren High School class of 1934.
Cremains will be buried at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Little Rock under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by a brother, Bill McCoy of Van Buren.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Southern Christian Home, P.O. Box 649, Morrilton, AR 72110 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Arrevia Parsons
MIDWAY — Arrevia Parsons, 87, of Midway died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, in her home. She was a member of Midway Assembly of God.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Midway Assembly of God with burial at Horne cemetery in Midway under the direction of Murry Funeral Home of Paris.
She is survived by her husband, Luther; a daughter, Elwanda Robinson of Paris; a son, Larry Parsons of Subiaco; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth, Russell and Bill Dean Rhinehart, Lindell and Ronnie Parsons and Wesley White.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
