Sue Carolyn Lasiter Smith, 66, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was an administrative assistant for Time Stripping.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Fentress Mortuary Chapel in Fort Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Smith of Marietta, Ga.; a sister, Barbara Fraser of Livonia, Mich.; a brother, James Lasiter Jr. of Fort Smith; and one grandchild.

Jimmy Quinn
MENA — Jimmy Lloyd “Jim” Quinn, 62, of Mena died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, in his home. He was born April 12, 1940, in Mena. He was a cattleman and a contractor of poultry equipment, was in the Arkansas National Guard, was a member of the American Legion and of the Assembly of God faith.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Beasley-Wood Funeral Home Chapel in Mena with burial at Nunley cemetery in Nunley.
He is survived by his wife, Ann; two daughters, Rene Anderson and Vicky Ashley, both of Mena; two sons, Matt Quinn and Tim Wood, both of Mena; five sisters, Ginny Dorsey of Poteau, June Crabtree of Atkins, Nell Lance of Mena, Betty Apling of Santa Ana, Calif., and Mary Watkins of Anaheim, Calif.; three brothers, Lee Quinn of Mena, Floyd Quinn of Kelso, Wash., and A.J. Quinn of Springfield, Ore.; and eight grandchildren.
Memorials contributions may be made to Mena Medical Hospice or the American Cancer Society.

Carolyn Edwards
POTEAU — Carolyn Edwards, 54, of Poteau died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was born Sept. 30, 1948, in Poteau. She was a home health-care provider, a homemaker and a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Poteau.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Oakland cemetery Pavilion in Poteau under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
She is survived by a daughter, Camilla King of Poteau; a son, Robert Wellman of Poteau; two sisters, Laurene Smith of Wister and Eulene Roberts of Fort Smith; and four grandchildren.

Bill Heathcock Sr.
Bill Heathcock Sr., 61, of Van Buren died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, in a local hospital. He was a retired sales manager for Southern Steel & Wire in Fort Smith and a member of Alma Assembly of God.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Alma Assembly of God with burial at Gill cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; two sons, Bill Heathcock of Rudy and Art Heathcock of Russellville; three stepsons, Matthew and Mark Sossamon, both of Alma, and Luke Sossamon of Van Buren; three sisters, Norma Wardrup of Fort Smith, Donna Joslin of Fort Worth, Texas, and Anna Johnston of Marion, Va.; two brothers, Robert Frisbie of Lavaca and Arthur Heathcock of Van Buren; several grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Mike Moffett, Mike Moffett Jr., Bobby, Randy and Jerry Joslin and Charles Wardrup.

Hester Davis
COVE — Hester Davis, 91, of Cove died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, in Mena. She was born July 27, 1911, in Athens. She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith. She was the widow of Jewell Davis.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Pleasant Grove Church of the Nazarene with burial at Pleasant Grove cemetery under the direction of Hall Funeral Service of Mena.
She is survived by three sons, Perry and Larry Davis, both of Cove and Billy Davis of Tulsa; 18 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Maurice Goff
MULDROW — Maurice Vance Goff, 80, of Muldrow died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, in Fort Smith. He was born March 24, 1922, in New Mexico. He was a union carpenter and a Protestant.
The body was cremated under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; five daughters; a son; and several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Roy Bolinger
SPIRO — Roy L. Bolinger, 77, of Spiro died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, in Fort Smith.
No services are planned. Cremation was under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.
He is survived by a daughter, Brenda Morrison of Bluffton, Texas; a son, Eddie Bolinger of Pea Ridge; a brother, Homer Bolinger of Central America; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Larry Hendrix
FAYETTEVILLE — Larry Lee Hendrix, 59, of Fayetteville died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, in Fayetteville. He was born Oct. 24, 1943, in Mulberry. He was an employee of Standard Register for 35 years, a graduate of Alma High School, a volunteer Judo coach at Fayetteville Youth Center for many years, a member and elder at Oak Manor Christian Church.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville with burial at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; a son, Terry Hendrix of Dallas; his parents, Curtis and Sylvia Hendrix of Mountainburg; two sisters, Carolyn Philpot of Fort Smith and Shirley Brisco of Van Buren; and a brother, Milton Hendrix of Mountainburg.
The body may be viewed 4 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Effie Rogers
WISTER — Effie Marie Rogers, 90, of Wister died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, in Poteau. She was born May 26, 1912, in Heavener. She was a homemaker, a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Wister. She was the widow of Walter Rogers.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at First Church of the Nazarene in Wister with burial at Wister City cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
She is survived by two daughters, Billie Williams of Panama and Joyce Erskin of Bokchito, Okla.; a sister, Velma Baker of Fort Smith; a brother, Jeff Oliver of Heavener; 19 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Randy Duncan, Robert Winters, Jimmy Williams, Bo, Kenneth and David Baker.

Muoc Huynh
Muoc Thi Huynh, 55, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was born Aug. 9, 1947, in Nha Trang, Vietnam. She was a former employee of Tyson and was of the Buddhist faith. She was the widow of Dao Huynh.
Funeral will be 8 a.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Oak cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Phuong Huynh of Fort Smith; two sons, Thong and Phong Huynh, both of Fort Smith; a sister, Thuyet Huynh of Vietnam; a brother, Cao Huynh of Vietnam; and three grandchildren.

Jewell Gipson
LONG BEACH, Calif. — Jewell Belle Smith Gipson, 90, of Long Beach, Calif., died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, in Long Beach. She was the widow of Tillman Gipson.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Muldrow with burial at Blackjack cemetery in Muldrow under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Pauline Burr of Torrance, Calif.; a son, Bill Gipson of Riverside, Calif.; two sisters, Edna Templeton of Hartshorne, Okla., and Pauline Barrot of Cameron, Texas; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Melvin Hoeffer
TULSA — Melvin F. Hoeffer, 84, of Tulsa, formerly of Hartman, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, in Claremore, Okla. He was born Aug. 30, 1918, in Stillwater, Okla. He was a graduate of Stillwater High School, an Army veteran of World War II and the widower of Freida Hoeffer.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday at West Mount Zion cemetery in Hartman under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita; two daughters, Lynda Arango of Odgen, Utah, and Tari Smith of Duncan, Okla.; a son, Forrest Hoeffer of Hartman; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.

Kimberly Shellito
Kimberly Dawn Brown Shellito, 32, of Van Buren died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, in a local hospital.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Alma cemetery in Alma under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by her husband, Jamie; three sons, Kody, Kirk and James, all of the home; her parents, Don and Sherry Brown of Van Buren; a brother, Marcus Brown of Alma; and her paternal grandmother, Lydia Brown of Fort Smith.

Ronald Mackey
Ronald L. Mackey, 56, of Van Buren died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, in a local hospital. He was a truck driver for O.K. Industries in Fort Smith and a member of Rena Road Christian Church.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gill cemetery in Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Suzi; a daughter, Chastein Mackey of the home; a son, Kevin Mackey of Van Buren; his mother, Marjorie Mackey of Winfield, Kan.; and two brothers, Joe Mackey of Shelby, Mich., and Rex Mackey of Gueda Springs, Kan.

Willam Cogburn
MENA — William Cogburn, 69, of Mena died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, in his home. He was born Aug. 5, 1933, in Board Camp. He served in the Army from 1953-55, the Army Reserve from 1955-59, served in the National Guard from 1959-62, was a police officer for the Arkansas Highway Police and a member of Harmony Primitive Baptist Church in Board Camp.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Beasley-Wood Funeral Home Chapel in Mena with burial at Board Camp cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda; a son, Dale Cogburn of Mena; his father, Mitchell Cogburn of Mena; a sister, Mae Wright of Stigler; a brother, John Cogburn of Shady; and three grandchildren.

Ora Capp
Ora Mae Capp, 80, of Van Buren died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, in a local nursing home. She was a homemaker and a member of North Park Baptist Church in Van Buren. She was the widow of Frank Capp.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gill cemetery in Van Buren.
She is survived by a daughter, Frankie Parrish of Van Buren; a son, Paul Capp of Rudy; two sisters, Velma Allen of Buxton, Ore., and Iva Nunn of Blue Springs, Mo.; a brother, Floyd Young of Roland; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Arnold, Carroll McClure, Tommy Bowen, Cliff Jameson, Rick Parks and Stacy Johnson.

Francis “Sonny” Gasper
Francis “Sonny” Gasper, 69, of Central City passed away Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, in Central City. He was a retired sergeant first class from the Army after serving 26 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War and Vietname War. He was preceded in death by his father, Francis Gasper; and a sister, Sylvia Dolores Gasper.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church in Lavaca with burial at Mayberry cemetery in Central City with full military honors under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; a daughter, Brenda Dolores Turner of Lavaca; a son, Raymond Francis Gasper of Fort Smith; his mother, Clydemena Gasper of Cleveland; two brothers, Tim Gasper of Madison, Ohio, and Peter Gasper of Manasas, Va.; and four grandchildren, Cherese Smith, Juston Turner, Henry and Sarah Gasper.
Pallbearers will be Perry and Juston Turner, Raymond, Pete, Tim and Henry Gasper, Kelly Smith and Eddie Joe Kopec.
