MULDROW — Betty Walton, 76, of Muldrow died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Fentress Mortuary Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at King cemetery in Mulberry.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty Harris of Muldrow; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Billy Wilson
ALMA — Billy G. Wilson, 70, of Alma died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003, in a local hospital. He was a retired owner and operator of Wilson Upholstery Shop in Alma, an Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of First Baptist Church of Alma, past master Alma Masonic Lodge No. 735, the Royal Arch in Van Buren, past patron of the new Alma Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and Remy Chapter of Order of Eastern Star in Mulberry.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren with Masonic rites at Evergreen cemetery in Alma.
He is survived by his wife, Susie; two daughters, Patricia Kirkley of Fort Smith and Marcella Wilson of Fayetteville; and two brothers, Guy and Tom Wilson, both of Alma.
Pallbearers will be Doug, Mike, Scott and David Wilson, Merle, Harold and Doug Hill.
Honorary pallbearers will be member of the Masonic Lodge No. 735.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Alma Building Fund, P.O. Box Alma, AR 72921.

Iola Marionette Blanca
Iola Marionette Blanca, 84, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, in Van Buren. She was a retired office employee of Sparks Regional Medical Center, a member of the American Association of Retired Persons, the Fort Smith Business and Professional Women’s Club, Goddard United Methodist Church and the Harvester Sunday school class.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Roselawn cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Casimiro Blanca of Fort Smith; a daughter, Marlene Dianne Penfield of Del Mar, Calif.; two sons, Melvern Lynn Finke and Marlin Dee Finke, both of Lincoln, Neb.; a brother, Vern Jacobsmeir of Lincoln, Neb.; three grandchildren, Nicole Schultz, Jessica and Christina Penfield; three stepgrandchild and one stepgreat-grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be made to Goddard United Methodist Church, 1922 Dodson Ave., Fort Smith, AR 72901.

Monroe Luther Davis
Monroe Luther Davis, 44, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, in Fort Smith. He was an employee of Whirlpool Corp., a member of Arkansas Vintage Scooter Society, a former member of Jenny Lind Volunteer Fire Department, a life member of National Rifle Association, Save or Streams and the Arkansas Wildlife. He was of the Church of Christ faith.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Mountain View cemetery in Sebastian County.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Davis of the home; a daughter, Kimberly Dawn and husband, Wesley Booker of Fayetteville; a son, Kenny Kyle of Fort Smith; three stepdaughters, Lisa Tucker of Japan, Michelle Kinney of Fort Smith and Angel Watts Huber of Ohio; his parents, James E. and Katherine L. Davis of Sebastian Lake in Hackett; four sisters, Karen Denise and Janet Lee Davis, Christy Lynn Powdrill and Missy Russell, all of Fort Smith; and 10 stepgrandchildren.
Pallbearers will be DeWayne Vincent, Wyatt Maness, Stanley and Monty Burkhart, Michael Aaron Belk and Jeromy Russell.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the home of his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Jay Davis.

Khampiane Keovanpheng
Khampiane Keovanpheng, 65, of Barling died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, in Barling. He was born Sept. 9, 1937, in Vientiane, Laos. He was a machine operator for Rheem Manufacturing for 25 years and of the Buddist faith.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith. The body will be cremated.
He is survived by his wife, Boualinh of the home; two daughters, Dao K. Ward of Charleston and Dao Kham Keovnapheng of Barling; a son, Khampanna Keovanpheng of Bentonville; a brother, Leon Keovanpheng of Fort Smith; and two grandchildren.

Wilbur Eugene Robles
Wilbur Eugene Robles, 69, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, in Fort Smith. He was a retired credit manager with the Fort Smith Credit Bureau and a former credit manager at Hunt’s Department Store for 29 years. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, the Clifhangers Sunday school class, past president of Sertoma. He received the Distinguished Service award in 1977 from the International Consumer Credit Association. He volunteered through RSVP at Cavanaugh Elementary School in Vicki James’ third-grade reading class. He was a former South Sebastian County Boy Scout leader for 10 years, a past president for the Hackett School Board and a charter city councilman for Bonanza. He also served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his brother, Frank.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul United Methodist Church with burial at Elizabeth Hall cemetery in New Blaine under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Susan of the home; a daughter, Robin Moses and her husband, Ricky of Hackett; a son, Randy Robles and his wife, Lisa of Fort Smith; a stepson, Greg Mobley of Little Rock; his mother, Vivian Ramsey of Mulvane, Kan.; six sisters, Grace Jarrett of Mulvane, Kan., Vivian Harper of Oklahoma City, Judy White, Donna Taylor, Norma Young and Debbie Brown of Mulvane, Kan.; a brother, Jim Cole of Moran, Kan.; four grandchildren, Justin and Jason Robles, both of Fort Smith, April and Amber Moses, both of Hackett; two stepgrandchildren, Jeffrey and Steven Gonzagowski, both of Van Buren; one great-grandchild, Christian McKee of Hackett.
Pallbearers will be Vernon Woody, Charles Toon, George Woodruff, David Wood, Charles Muehe, Steve Shurr and Don Wright.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Clifhangers Sunday school class.
Family will visit with friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Edith Ray Rogers
Edith Ray Rogers, 86, of Arkoma died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003, in a Pocola nursing home. She was a homemaker and a member of Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church of God in Fort Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Rogers; a son, Glen Rogers; a stepson, Lee Gillett; a grandson, Donnie Rogers; and three sisters and one brother.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at New Hope cemetery in Spiro.
She is survived by three daughters and son-in-law, Brenda and Darrell Borum of Arkoma, Peggy and Robert Kazmirski of Fort Smith and Debra and Bill Frye of Greenwood; two sons and daughters-in-law, A.G. and Margie Rogers of Lead Hill and Billy Jack and Glenda Rogers of Arkoma; two sisters, Marie Rogers of Fort Smith and Arlie Brooks of Arkoma; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

John Francis Hobbs
John Francis Hobbs died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, in Brownwood Manor in Van Buren, after a long illness. He was born Nov. 14, 1918, to Francis and Rose Hobbs in Youngstown, Ohio. Mr. Hobbs spent much of his life in Canfield, Ohio, where he was very active in St. Michael Catholic Church. He was an avid hunter and trap shooter, participating in the Eastern Ohio Conservation Club. He was employed at McKelvey’s Department Store and managed their semi-pro baseball team, which was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1997. After retiring, his pastimes included woodworking and painting. After selling his home, he moved to Fort Smith to be near his sister, Audrey Ferguson. Other surviving family members include a niece, JoAnn Kale of Fort Smith; nephews Charles Ferguson of Riverside, Calif., and John Ferguson of Charlotte, N.C. He also has a great-niece and nephew, David and Megan Kale.
Memorial mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Christ the King Catholic Church in Fort Smith with interment in Christ the King Columbarium under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.

Helen K. Hall
Helen K. Hall, 92, of Van Buren, formerly of Alma, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, in a local nursing home. She was a retired elementary school teacher for Alma School System and a member of First Baptist Church of Alma, where she had been active in the choir and as a Sunday school teacher and pianist. She also helped found the Library at First Baptist Church of Alma and was a graduate of Fort Smith Junior College, U of A.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Alma. Private committal Saturday at Forest Park under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Hellen and Edward Watson of Lilburn, Ga., and Mary and Don Epperson of Little Rock; a sister, Betty Rhodes of Wichita, Kan.; granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Marsha and Mark Goinings of Cabot, Karla and Tommy Hilburn of Little Rock, Lisa and Frank Armstrong of Melbourne, Fla., and Cindy and Danny Baker of Fort Myers, Fla.; and eight great-grandchildren.

Donald Ray Chronister
Donald Ray Chronister, 49, of Roland died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, in Roland. He was born March 30, 1953, in Charleston. He was an electrician, a member of Central Free Will Baptist Church, the Electrical Union and a Lavaca High School graduate. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Lee Chronister.
Funeral was held Thursday at Central Free Will Baptist Church with burial at Mayberry cemetery in Central City under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Lavaca.
He is survived by his wife, Annie of the home; a daughter, Mindy Lynn Chronister of Bellville, Ill.; three sons, Nathan Ray Chronister of Davenport, Iowa, Shane and Matthew Chronister, both of Bellville, Ill.; his parents, Wallace and Pauline Chronister of Central City; a brother, Ricky of Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; and three stepchildren, Carie Ranney of Norfolk, W.Va., Christina and Christal Jones, both of the home.
Pallbearers will be Mike Chamberlain, Steven and John Chronister, James Hoover, Robert Crawford and Andy Grieve.

James Ross Blythe
James Ross Blythe, 88, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2003, in Fort Smith. He was the retired owner and operator of Blythe Refrigeration & Appliance Service, a member of First Assembly of God in Van Buren, a veteran of the Merchant Marines. He was a wonderful father and grandfather, loving husband to his wife of 63 years and a wonderful father-in-law. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Lee Blythe; and a brother, William Blythe.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Flonnie Geneva Blythe of Fort Smith; two daughters, Nancy Lynn Sharp of Farmington and Beverly Sue Emhardt of Kansas, Kan.; two sons, Ross Gaylon Blythe of Fort Smith and James Nelson Blythe of Rudy; two sisters, Martha Lou Puett of Desert Springs, Calif., and Audrey Bailey of Van Buren; a brother, Elmo Blythe of Dumas, Texas; 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
The family will visit with friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Jesse Dawson
Jesse Dawson, 84, of Alma died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003, in a local hospital. He was a retired mechanic for Allen Canning Co. in Van Buren, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janie Dawson.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gill cemetery in Van Buren.
He is survived by a brother, Bill Dawson of Macon, Mo.; and also is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Eric and Heath Spence, Randall Plank, David Wolfe, Eddie Dawson and George Plumbtree.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Payton, Bobby Stone, Wayne Boster, Bob Welch, Marshall McCarty and Louie Gravatt.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Willis Ferrell
SPIRO — Willis S. Ferrell, 81, of Spiro died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003, in Poteau. He was an Air Force veteran, a life member of VFW Post No. 4884, where he was past commander, was Mr. Oklahoma of State VFW, a member of American Legion and the Lakeview Baptist Church, owner and operator of Ferrell’s Garage for 40 years and former mayor of Spiro.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mallory Funeral Home Chapel in Spiro with burial at 10 a.m. Tuesday at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; two daughters, Mary E. Jones and Kathy J. Cox, both of Spiro; a son, Randy W. Ferrell of Hurst, Texas; a sister, Marjorie McCoy of Claremore, Okla.; two brothers, Carl Ferrell of Mannford, Okla., and Sherman Ferrell of Claremore, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

James Morton
MOCKINGBIRD COMMUNITY — James Hassel Morton, 79, of Mockingbird community near Quitman died Monday, Dec. 30, 2002. He was born July 13, 1923, near Quitman. He was a retired farmer and cattleman, and a veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Corps.
Funeral was held Thursday at Center Point General Baptist Church with burial at Center Point cemetery under the direction of Olmstead Funeral Home of Heber Springs.
He is survived by his wife, Marileen; two daughters, Joyce Johnson and Elois Blakely of Sacramento, Calif.; a son, Lavon of Yelvington; a sister, Molly Flowers of Searcy; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Michael and Lois Morton, Pat Pike, George and Robert Flowers and Steven Rayburn.
Memorial contributions may be made to Center Point General Baptist Church.
