She graduated from Cabool High School in 1969, was a homemaker and treasurer of Maness Memorial Church and director of WMU in Cabool. Funeral is today at Maness Memorial Baptist Church in Cabool, Mo., with burial at Cabool cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry Funeral Home of Cabool, Mo. She is survived by her husband, Jim; a daughter, Michele Wake of Fort Smith; a son, Keith Wake of Bentonville; her mother, Edna of Cabool, Mo.; a sister, Helen Sears of Cabool, Mo.; two brothers, Dallas and Steven Strong, both of Cabool, Mo.; and three grandchildren.

BLACKGUM COMMUNITY - Delbert A. Risley, 71, of Blackgum community died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2003, in Vian. He was born Feb. 13, 1932, near Blackgum. He was a self-employed dump truck driver and a Protestant. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at Box cemetery north of Vian under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. He is survived by a daughter, Cathy Willis of Vian; a sister, Fray Combs of Yountville, Calif.; four brothers, P.E., Curtis and Bert Risley Jr., all of Blackgum, and J.D. Risley of Vian; and one grandchild. Pallbearers will be Herb Willis Jr., Lee, Kevin and Dean Risley, Dean Risley Jr. and Jesse Rouse.

MINOT, N.D. - Dyarl Eugene Lackey, 68, of Minot, N.D. died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003, in Minot. He was born Nov. 30, 1934, in Webbers Falls, Okla. He graduated from Spiro High School, entered the Navy and later transferred to the Air Force, was N.C.O.I.C. of the dental clinic, received a business degree from Minot State University and held management positions at the American Legion, Elks and Minot Air Force Base, and was a member of American Legion, the Hooterville Lions, Disabled American Veterans, The Retired Enlisted Association and American Association of Retired Persons. Funeral will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Minot, N.D., with burial at 1:30 p.m. Rosehill Memorial Park in Minot under the direction of Thompson-Larson Funeral Home of Minot, N.D. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; two daughters, Margaret Peckham of Weirton, W.Va.. and Shannon Lackey of Minot; five sons, Darren Lackey of Fort Worth, Texas, Christopher Long of Minot, N.D., Paul Lackey of Midwest City, Okla., Steven Long of Richmond, Va., and Anthony Long of Cheyenne, Wyo.; his stepmother, Mattie Lackey of Arkoma; a stepsister, Kay Rogers of Van Buren; a brother, Glen Lackey of Fort Smith; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Korean War and retired from the Army after 21 years of service. Rev. Paul Dougan Jr.
The Rev. Paul 'Paw Paw' Dougan Jr., 54, of Van Buren died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2003, in a local hospital. He was born March 19, 1949, in Fort Smith. He was a member of Victory Temple in Fort Smith, an ordained minister for 36 years, and pastored at First Pentecostal in Fayetteville, Full Gospel Temple in North Little Rock, Pentecostal Church of God in Newport, Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church in Fort Smith and Bethel Temple in Bridge Port, W.Va. He was vice president and dean of Lyell College in Fort Smith, founder of the House of Hope Mission in Fort Smith and an employee of Loweıs. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Cliff Terrace Assembly of God with burial at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith. He is survived by his wife, Brenda; a daughter, Krystal Nichols of Van Buren; a stepdaughter, Michele Mundy of Barling; two sons, Kevin and Joshua Dougan, both of Van Buren; his parents, Louise and the Rev. Paul Dougan Sr. of Van Buren; a sister, Patsy Ellison of Van Buren; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers will be J.W. Wooden, James Villines, Johnson Ross, Ron Mills, Wincell Akin and Arthur Ward. Joe Anthony Hubbard, 57, of Fort Smith died Friday, Aug. 8, 2003, in Fort Smith. He was a retired employee of the Texarkana Water Department and an Army veteran. Cora Wear, 87, of North Little Rock, formerly of Fort Smith, died Aug. 8, 2003. She was born Dec. 8, 1915, in Kingston, Okla. She was the widow of Cleo 'Bill' Wear, with whom she owned and operated the West End Drugstore in Fort Smith until they retired in 1976. She is survived by two sons, James and Sammy Wear, both of North Little Rock; two brothers, Owen Driver Jr. of Ada, Okla., and Jerry Driver of Newville, Ala.; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. CECIL - Emogene Shaw, 86, of Cecil died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003, in her home. She was born Nov. 15, 1916, in Cannon City, Colo. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cecil and the Eastern Star, a farmer and rancher and the widow of Les Shaw. Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at the First United Methodist Church in Cecil with burial at Lowes Creek cemetery on Arkansas 41 north of Branch under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston. ABILENE, Texas - Ethel Jean 'Jimmie' Bowling Gentry, 94, of Abilene, Texas, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2003. She was born Dec. 25, 1908, in Hugo, Okla. She received a bachelorıs degree from Southeastern State Teachers College and taught schools in Smithville and Octavia area for many years, was teacher of the year for the State of Oklahoma, was past member of the First Baptist Church in Poteau and a member of Wylie Baptist Church in Abilene, Texas. She was the widow of Woodrow Bowling and the Rev. M.D. Gentry. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today in Octavia under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau. HACKETT - Leslie E. Hailey, 67, of Hackett died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003, in Van Buren. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietname War and a lifetime member of the DAV. Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren. The body was cremated. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; a daughter, Phyllis Fant of Greenwood; a son, Bart Hailey of Hackett; a sister, Diane Yow of Oregon; a brother, Warren Hailey of Idaho; and three grandchildren. CLARKSVILLE - Ewell Thomas Sexton, 85, of Clarksville died Monday, Aug. 11, 2003, in his home. He was born Nov. 8, 1917, in Ludwig. He was a member of Clarksville Church of Christ, a former deacon several years, served as an elder for 40 years, was a retired farmer, a peach grower for 40 years, a strawberry farmer for 10 years and a chicken grower for 31 years. His family was Johnson County Farm Family of the Year in 1964 and he served on Arkansas Soil Conservation Service board several years. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Clarksville Church of Christ with burial at Mount Airy cemetery in Ludwig under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville. He is survived by his wife, Lois; two sons, Don and Ronnie Sexton, both of Clarksville; a brother, Norman Sexton of Clarksville; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her father, Bo Marts II of Fort Smith; a brother, Billy Marts III of Fort Smith; her paternal grandmother, Jo Cooper of Fort Smith; her grandfather, Bill and Carol Marts of Fort Smith; and great-grandmother, Nora Robertson of Barling. ALMA - William Joseph Webb, 60, of Alma, formerly of Collinsville, Okla., died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2003, in a local hospital. He was from Pontiac, Mich., and a automobile mechanic. He is survived by a daughter, Debbie Barker of Pontiac, Mich.; a sister, Evelyn Bogner of Clarkston, Mich.; a brother, Marvin Webb of Alma; and four grandchildren.

Susan Elva Puffer, 86, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was a retired payroll clerk for Woods Manufacturing and the widow of Steve Puffer. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith. She is survived by a sister, Berniece Puffer of Fort Smith. Jack P. Rowland
Jack P. Rowland, 73, of Van Buren died Saturday, June 28, 2003, in a local hospital. He was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Fort Smith and the Riverblenders Barbershop Chorus, a volunteer with the St. Edward Mercy Medical Center Auxiliary, an avid bowler and a Razorback fan.
Memorial service will be 7 p.m. Thursday at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren. Ashes will be interred at a later date.
He is survived by his wife, Jania; a son, Michael Rowland of the home; a sister, Jerry Greenwood of Palacios, Texas; three brothers, Bill Rowland of Anniston, Ala., Bob Rowland of Irving, Texas, and his twin brother, Joe Rowland of Fort Smith; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary and Joy Weems of Van Buren and Don and Verlene Tadlock of Fort Smith; an aunt, Mava Leath of Tulsa; and several cousins.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the choir of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Fort Smith.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Edward Mercy Medical Center Auxiliary or to the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Fort Smith.
Myrtle Marie Titsworth
Myrtle Marie Titsworth, 84, of Fort Smith died Sunday, June 29, 2003, in Charleston. She was born Sept. 24, 1918, in Fort Smith. She was a salesperson for Mary Long Childrens Clothing until she retired. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, WMU leader, and a youth worker. Her husband, Claude Titsworth, and a sister, Martha Crain, preceded her in death.
She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Pitts and her husband, Bill of Charleston; a son, Claude Titsworth Jr. and his wife, Jeanne of Hackett; a brother, Bill Bates of Fort Smith; four grandchildren, Lisa Thompson, Lori Brand, Erica Pitts and Tara Pitts; two great-grandchildren, Levi Dugan and Taylor Thompson.
The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Roselawn cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
