D.T. Tuck
KIBLER — D.T. Tuck, 83, of Kibler died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, in Kibler. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a retired maintenance worker for Allen Canning Co.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Edwards-Van Alma Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gill cemetery in Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen; two daughters, Vicky Blount of Van Buren and Shirley Moring of Roland; a son, Bobby Tuck of Kibler; a brother, Jay Tuck of Fort Smith; 22 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Richard, Michael and James Tuck, Tim Cameron and Johnny Brasuell.

Dorothy Vickers
Dorothy Mae Vickers, 77, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker and was Pentecostal.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Gilliam cemetery in Greenwood under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by two stepdaughters, Eva McCloud of Harrison and Teresa Evans; eight stepsons, Mike, Danny, Gary, Terry, Don, David, Tony and Darrell Vickers; two sisters, Faye Rundel of Fort Smith and Peggy Walker of Sheridan; a brother, Raymond McCallister of Barling; a half brother, Floyd McCallister of California; and one grandchild.

Douglas Thomas
YUKON, Okla. — Douglas Eugene “Doug” Thomas, 37, of Yukon, Okla., formerly of Vian, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, in Oklahoma City. He was born Dec. 2, 1965, in Tahlequah, Okla. He was a 1984 graduate of Vian High School, a truck driver for a refrigerated delivery service in Oklahoma City and a Protestant.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Blackgum with burial at Box cemetery north of Vian under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
He is survived by his wife, Sonya; a son, Dillon Thomas of the home; his mother, Suphronia Amaro of Yukon, Okla., his father, Gilbert Amaro of Yukon, Okla.; four brothers, Keith, Chi and Adam Amaro, all of Yukon, Okla., and Danny Amaro of Vian; his maternal grandmother, Delphia Hensley of Vian.
Pallbearers will be Chi, Adam and Danny Amaro, Keith Thomas, Bobby Marr and Richard Terry.
The body may be viewed 9 a.m. to noon today at the funeral home.

Dorothy Meredith
MENA — Dorothy May Meredith, 79, of Mena died Friday, Aug. 22, 2003, in Mena. She was born March 30, 1924, in Yocana. She was a homemaker.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at First Assembly of God in Mena with burial at Pinecrest Memorial Park under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
She is survived by her husband, Gail Freeman Meredith; five daughters, Barbara Bowen of Fort Smith, Diana Campbell of Mena, Debbie Hobbs of Lavaca, Sherry Walters of Onalaska, Wis., and Ginger Henry of Dardanelle; four sons, Gail Andrew Meredith of Mena, Jerry Meredith of Central City, Ricky Meredith of Panama, Okla., and Robby Meredith of Lavaca; 24 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Bobby, Phillip, Donny and Christopher Meredith, Todd Campbell and Shawn Hobbs.
The family will visit with friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Edyth Jones
WALDRON — Edyth S. Jones, 87, of Waldron died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, in Poteau. She was a retired employee of Rice Furniture and a member and former Sunday school teacher of Waldron First Baptist Church. She was the widow of Price Jones Jr.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Waldron First Baptist Church with burial at French Prairie cemetery in Ione under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron.
She is survived by a son, Scotty Jones of Poteau; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The body may be viewed 9 a.m. to noon today at the funeral home.

Julius Delt
SPIRO — Julius Alton “Jake” Delt, of Spiro died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, in Spiro. He was born Sept. 15, 1959. He attended schools in Spiro and worked in the oil field.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Mount Triumph Baptist Church in Fort Coffee, Okla., with burial at Lewisville cemetery in Lewisville under the direction of The New Dyer Memorial Chapel in Tulsa.
He is survived by his wife, Lilly; two stepdaughters, Vickie Bowers of McAlester, Okla., and Elizabeth Stewart of Watonga, Okla.; his mother, Jennie Delt of Fort Coffee, Okla.; five sisters, Barbara Clash and Rosetta Delt, both of Fort Coffee, Okla., Roberta Nelson of Fort Smith, Tammy Fillmore of Mesquite, Texas, and Katherine Glymph of Wichita, Kan.; three brothers, Curt Conway of Fort Smith, James and Howard Delt, both of Fort Coffee, Okla.; his grandmother, Ina Delt of Fort Coffee, Okla.
Pallbearers will be Melvin Delt, Lawson Giddings, Rotharee Woodmore, Larry Mills, Benjamin Fulson Jr. and Ricky McCurtain.

Lillian Johnson
PARIS — Lillian Johnson, 84, of Paris died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, in her home. She was a homemaker, a member of the American Legion and the widow of Lucius Johnson.
Rosary will be 6 p.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Sept. 27 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris under the direction of Murry Funeral Home of Paris.
She is survived by a daughter, Sarrah Noebels of Paris; a son, Brendan Noebels of Eugan, Mich.; a brother, Dan Pollak of Douglas, Ariz.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic School or Department of Health Hospice, 1708 West C Place, Russellville, AR 72801.

Glenn Benham
ENTERPRISE, Okla. — Glenn D. “Curly” Benham, 85, of Enterprise, Okla., died Friday, Aug. 22, 2003, in Enterprise. He was a member of Whitefield Baptist Church and the widower of Ina Benham.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Whitefield Baptist Church with burial at Brooken cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Stigler.
He is survived by a daughter, Janice Reinke of Edmond, Okla.; four sons, Joe Benham of Stigler, Jim Benham of Skiatook, Okla., Tom Benham of Collinsville, Okla., and Eddie Benham of Enterprise; a sister, Rae Spears of Whitefield; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Eakle, Carl Oxford, Ted Spears, Paul Storie, L.J. Hale and Joe Harmon.
Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons.

William Thomas Yones Sr.
William Thomas Yones Sr. died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, in his home. Bill had been ill for a long time with pulmonary fibrosis. He was born Jan. 12, 1930, in Tecumseh, Okla., and was 73 years old.
Bill was a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church in the Bond Special Community.
Bill was retired from the Army and served with the 38th Medical Evacuation Hospital, 2nd Division in Korea. He was wounded in action and awarded the Purple Heart. Other awards were the Good Conduct Metal with Bronze Clasp with three loops, Presidential Unit Emblem, Army of Occupation Medal with Germany Clasp, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, Combat Medical Badge, United Nations Service Medal and Marksman Badge with Carbine Bar.
Bill was a member of the local units of DAV, the Royal Order of the Purple Heart and VFW and of the American Legion.
Upon retirement from the military, Bill attended Westark Community College and was one of the two men graduated from the first school for registered nurses offered at the college. He worked for Crawford Memorial Hospital for many years as a registered nurse and also worked at Fort Chaffee during the Cuban crisis.
Survivors include his wife, Willa Dean of the home; a son, William T. “Tom” Jr. and wife, Karen of the Oliver Springs community; five grandchildren, Carrie Brown and husband, Erik of Little Rock, Deidre, William Kane, Andrea and Mickey of the Oliver Springs community; one brother, Herbert Yones and wife, Pat of Tecumseh, Okla.; nephews, Michael Yones of Oklahoma City and Joel Yones of Oklahoma; a niece, Kim of Edmond, Okla.; one great-grandchild, Carson Brown of Little Rock.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Oliver Springs cemetery with full military honors.
Pallbearers will be Herbert Yones, Michael Yones, Joel Yones, Jimmy Hall Sr., Jimmy Hall Jr., Douglas Hall and Bradley Hall.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Cox, Ferrel Kellar, Frank Mayhew, Don Watkins and Bob Winfrey.

Ernest Tate
CLARKSVILLE — Ernest Marlind Tate, 68, of Clarksville died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, in an area hospital. He was retired from the Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Vietname War. He worked for Gulf Oil and U-Haul Co. of Arkansas and was the developer of Shadow Valley subdivision. He was a Baptist.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Oakland cemetery in Clarksville.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; a daughter, Debra Krumdick of Clarksville; two sons, Ernie Joe Tate and Michael Tate, both of Clarksville; his parents, Ermal and Estelle Tate; a sister, Mae Skaggs of Farmington; four brothers, Lonnie Tate of Clarksville, Edward Tate of Fayetteville, Gerald Tate of Rogers and Malcolm Tate of Ozark; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Lonnie, Gerald, Edward, Malcolm, Cully, Terry and Douglas Tate and Curtis Easter.
The family will visit with friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Foye Reynolds
POTEAU — Foye Mae Reynolds, 69, of Poteau died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, in Poteau. She was born Jan. 22, 1934, in Fort Smith. She was a retired supervisor for Kerr Conference Center.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with burial at Summerfield cemetery in Summerfield under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
She is survived by six children, Anita Kubicki of West Fork, Connie Lewis of Fort Smith, Linda Cannon of Red Oak, Okla., Terry Shanahan and Mike Reynolds, both of Poteau, and Richard Reynolds of Rapid City, S.D.; her father, Boyd Billings of Poteau; three brothers, Murl Billings of Poteau and Larry and Dub Billings, both of California; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mary Pleva
CLARKSVILLE — Mary C. Pleva, 60, of Clarksville died Friday, Aug. 29, 2003, in her home. She was born Dec. 18, 1942, in Clarksville. She was a graduate of St. Scholastica High School in Fort Smith and St. Vincent School of Nursing in Little Rock and a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and Christian Mothers. She was the first school nurse in the Clarksville school system.
Rosary will be 7 p.m. today at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. The body was cremated under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
She is survived by her husband, Floyd; a son, Larry Pleva of Oak Creek, Wis.; her mother, Dorothy Kremers; and two brothers, Joe and Tom Kremers, both of Clarksville.

Michael Pettit
MARBLE CITY — Michael Don Pettit, 30, of Marble City died Friday, Aug. 29, 2003, in Tulsa. He was a laborer, a Methodist and a Class of 1992 graduate of Sallisaw High School.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at House of Praise Church in Marble City with burial at Flute Springs cemetery near Marble City under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
He is survived by his parents, Jack and Mary Pettit of Marble City; two sisters, Marie Ladrillero of Stilwell, Okla., and Jennifer Pettit of Marble City; and a brother, Jack Pettit Jr. of Nicut.
Pallbearers will be Larry and Ricky Cheater, Jeffrey Roberts, Charles Elk, Watie Chuculate, John Woods, and Will and Ronnie Chavez.

Ocie Beckham
DYER — Ocie Dale Beckham, 60, of Dyer died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, in a local hospital. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietname War and was of the Baptist faith.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Dyer cemetery Arbor with military honors under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores; three sons, Ocie Beckham Jr. of Kibler, Rodney Beckham of Barling and Michael Beckham of Dyer; a brother, Joe Beckham of Dyer; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be nephews.

Betty Prine
Betty Prine, 75, of Fort Smith died Friday, Aug. 29, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was born July 20, 1928, in Short, Okla. She was retired from Dixie Cup, attended Northside United Pentecostal Church and was the widow of Odell Prine.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Northside United Pentecostal Church of God with burial at Macedonia cemetery in Uniontown under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
She is survived by two sisters, Shirley Peaslee of Sallisaw and Phyllis Owens of Poteau, Okla.; and two brothers, James L. Vann of Short and Lecho Vann of Muldrow.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Allen, Bill Myers, John Phillips, James Baker, T.C. Strawhacker and Elton Benton.
