Helen Stumpff Tidwell
Helen Stumpff Tidwell, 82, of Fort Smith died Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church in Fort Smith and the Pastor’s class of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Tidwell; a son, Gary Tidwell; and a sister, Marie Willmon.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at First Baptist Church in Fort Smith with burial at Forest Park cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Rumph of Lavaca; a son, Richard Tidwell of Martin, Tenn.; a sister, Margaret Carden of Branch; 11 grandchildren, Kelly, Amy, Lizzy and Danae Rumph, Lisa Blakely, Chris Stafford, Cindy Coleman, Cassandra Buchanan, Juli Nordberg, Kathy Wheeler and Robert Tidwell; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Robert Tidwell, Scott Wheeler, Chris Stafford, Kaj Nordberg, Bill Buchanan and David Coleman.
The family will visit with friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Edwards Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 1400 Grand Ave., Fort Smith, AR 72901.

Emily Sue Lites Stephens
Emily Sue Lites Stephens, 75, of Fort Smith died Monday, Oct. 27, 2003 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Phyllis Stephens of Fort Smith. She was born Jan. 3, 1925, in Pine Bluff. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vallace and Margaret Lites of Pine Bluff and Reba Lybrand of Fordyce. She graduated from Pine Bluff High School. She was a member of Osceola Junior Auxiliary and Fort Smith PEO, and Grand Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Smith. She is also survived by one grandson, Jay Stephens of Fayetteville; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe and Silvia Lybrand of Osceola, Wesley and Jane Lites of Louisville, Ky.; her aunt, Betty Holt and family of Fordyce.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Memorial Park cemetery in Pine Bluff. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Scott Phillips, Trey Wyatt, John Crow, Chris Harper, Steve Bartels and Ethan Taylor.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Edward Mercy Hospice, 5401 Ellsworth Road, Fort Smith, Ark.

Barbara Lou Porter
Barbara Lou Porter, 69, of Fort Smith entered into rest Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was born Aug. 8, 1934, in Oklahoma the daughter of Sidney and Stella Mitchell. Barbara was co-owner of City Fire Extinguisher Company and of the Baptist faith. She is survived by one daughter, Gayla Largent of Memphis; two sisters, Roleta Burrows of Van Buren and Billie Grice of Houston; two grandchildren, Kelly Peacher of Memphis and Eric Peacher of Little Rock.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith.

Nancy Jane Randolph
Nancy Jane Randolph, 88, of Sallisaw died Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; one son, Billy; and one granddaughter, Sharon Knight. She was a member of the Central H.S. Alumni Association. She loved to attend basketball games, playing cards and dominoes. She liked to travel, she loved her plants and garden. She was a cook at Central High School.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at Immanuel Baptist Church with burial at Akins cemetery in Sallisaw under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by four daughters, Peggy Folsom of Severy, Kan., Doris Lattimore of Sallisaw, Helen McGlothlin and husband, Curtis of Sallisaw and Linda Allen and husband, Roy of Fort Smith; three sons, Charlie Randolph and wife, Estelle of Muskogee, Okla., Larry Randolph and wife, Lucy of Sallisaw, and Grady Randolph and wife, Dee of Stilwell, Okla.; a sister, Geneva Pagan of Bristow, Okla.; 21 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Randolph II, Levi Randolph, Sam Lattimore, Terry Lattimore, John Randolph, Ricky “Brother” Corbit.
The body may be viewed at Mallory Funeral Home in Sallisaw.
Honorary pallbearers will be B.J. Smith, Eric Smith, Jimmy Lee Harris, Paul Folsom, Tim White, Curtis Moore, Rockey Pratt, Jerry Don Lessley, Jerry Lessley Jr., George Glenn, Jim and David Thompson.

Cyrus McCoy
SPIRO — Cyrus Allen McCoy, 62, of Spiro died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, in his home. He was born Nov. 16, 1940. He lived most of his life in the Spiro area. He was a Navy veteran, received a bachelor’s degree from Northeastern State College in 1964, taught industrial arts and was a member of the Local 430 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, the Eastern Star and the Spiro Masonic Lodge, where he recently received his 25-year pin. He held the degree of black belt in karate and was a certified scuba diver and a self-employed welder.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Murry Spur Freewill Baptist Church with burial at a private family plot under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; three daughters, B.J. Kolmphas of Fort Smith, Lisa Wells of Arkoma and Becky Shepard of Fort Smith; two sons, Zane McCoy and Dwight Rawley, both of Fort Smith; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dwight Rawley, Jess and Robbin Wells, Terry Effen, Dusty Klutts, Dennis Morris, Jamie Shaw and Jim Knoblesdorf.
The family will visit with friends at the McCoy home.

Minnie Boszor
HEAVENER — Minnie Lee Boszor, 58, of Heavener died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, in Poteau. She was a former resident of Longview, Texas, and had been a resident of Heavener since 1993. She was a member of the Heavener First Baptist Church.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. today at Memorial Park in Heavener under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
She is survived by her husband, David; five daughters, Betty Livesay, Amber Tinker and Sarah Boszor, all of Heavener, Kandice Steele of Cocamola, Ind., and Shannon Trimble of Longview; four sons, David Trimble of White Oak, Texas, Timothy and Andrew Trimble, both of Longview, and Michael Trimble of Grove, Okla.; five sisters, Jo Anne Reid, Yvonna Pinson, Debbie Downing, Terry Akin and Vicky White, all of Longview; four brothers, Jackie and James Drury and Donny Summers, all of Longview, and Billy Summers of Buena Vista, Colo.; 24 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Boszor family.

Millie Angel
TALIHINA — Millie Cordelia Angel, 92, of Talihina died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, in Poteau. She was born Feb. 21, 1911, in Vian. She was a homemaker and was of the Protestant faith. She was the widow of Jess Angel.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ellis Chapel Church in Wister with burial at Ellis Chapel cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
She is survived by two daughters, Doris Callaway of Roswell, N.M., and Sue Bruce of Talihina; three sons, George Angel of Wister, Elvin Angel of Blythe, Calif., and Jesse Angel of Hesperia, Calif.; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Boyd Bacchus
LAMAR — Boyd Bacchus, 81, of Lamar died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, in his home. He was born June 29, 1922, in Lamar. He was a cattle farmer and a member of Lamar Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lamar Baptist Church with burial at Holman cemetery in Lamar under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville.
He is survived by a daughter, Mary Pruitt of North Little Rock; a son, Larry Bacchus of Lamar; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chris and Clint Bacchus, Leon Bachus, Charles Yates, Terry Cromer, Greg Starling and Ronnie Zachary.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Samuel Yurk
GREENWOOD — Samuel R. Yurk of Greenwood died Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, in his home. He was retired from Owens Corning and was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion and Union Local No. 2 in Kansas City, Mo.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Washburn cemetery in Washburn under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Jo Yurk; four sons, Sammy Yurk of Muskogee, Okla., Gary Yurk of Columbus, Kan., Kevin Keller of Georgia and George Keller II of Leander, Texas; two sisters, Betty Overton and Louise Belcher, both of Nevada, Mo.; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be sons and neighbors.

Ruth Durham
Ruth LaBass Durham, 86, of Fort Smith died Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, in a local nursing home. She was a retired desk clerk for the Holiday Motel, a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and the widow of Willie Durham.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Putman Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Muldrow Memory Gardens in Muldrow.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna Moreton of Fort Smith and Melissa Ann Veale of Albuquerque, N.M.; a son, James Durham of Austin, Texas; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Justin Chronister
Justin Chronister, 18, of Fort Smith died Saturday in Fort Smith. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fort Smith and a senior at Southside High School, where he was in the FBLA.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fort Smith with burial at Roselawn cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his mother, Karen Klek of Fort Smith; his father, Mark Chronister of Poteau; three brothers, Jared Chronister of Fayetteville, Matt Chronister of Fort Smith and William Klek of Fort Smith; paternal grandparents, Mary and Eldred Chronister of Poteau; and maternal grandparents, Tom and Paula Scott of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Jared and Matt Chronister, Scott Whittenberg, Alan Edmondson, Kane Whitt and Tyler Lamon.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Teresa Richards
Teresa Richards, 59, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, in her home. She was born Sept. 15, 1944, in Mena. She was an X-ray technician and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Perpetual Care Adoration at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Memorial Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
She is survived by her companion, Paul Roughface of the home; her father, William Richards of Barling; a sister, Margery Metz of Tulsa; and a brother, Steven Richards of Booneville.

Phillip Sanders
SHADY POINT — Phillips C. Sanders, 55, of Shady Point died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003, in Fort Smith. He was born in West Helena. He was a Vietnam veteran and a member of the National Guard unit in Poteau for 11 years.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by two brothers, Cecil Sanders of Spiro and Joseph Sanders of Shady Point.
Pallbearers will be John, Ron and Tom Sanders, Chris Beal and Michael and Bruce Sadler.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Margaret Crutchfield
Margaret J. Crutchfield, 81, of Van Buren died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, in a local hospital. She was a Pentecostal, a homemaker and a retired employee of Allen Canning Co. She was the widow of Wilburn Crutchfield.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gill cemetery in Van Buren.
She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Quick and Jane Summers, both of Van Buren, and Donna Flores of Checotah; a sister, Lucy Simpson of Van Buren; a brother, Troy Dodson of Van Buren; 10 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Randy and Chris Ruth, Marte Flores, Keith Shaw, Daniel Quick and Joaquin Viveros.
The family will visit with friends after the service at the home of Debbie Ruth, 1513 Alma Blvd., Van Buren.

Brenda Self
STIGLER — Brenda Paulette Self, 45, of Stigler died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, in Porum, Okla. She was a homemaker.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Beaver Mountain cemetery near Kinta under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
She is survived by her husband, Carl; two daughters, Laura and Amanda Martin, both of Wilburton; four sisters, Sylvia Walkup and Betty Hutchins, both of Westfork, Barbara Darcy of Porum and Linda East of Oklahoma City; three brothers, Ollie and Donnie Hurlocker, both of Porum, and Jerry Hurlocker of DeQueen.
Pallbearers will be Andy Alexander, Doyle Branham, Josh Kirkland, Randy and James Wilson and Richard Young.
