SALLISAW — Jackie Wayne Rogers, 40, of Sallisaw died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, in Sallisaw. He was a truck driver for Maverick Truck Lines of Little Rock. He was of the Assembly of God faith and a 1981 graduate of Gans High School.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Sallisaw with burial at Sallisaw City cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa D. Rogers; four daughters, Melissa, Ashley, Darla and Kelcee Rogers, all of the home; his mother, Earlene Rogers of Muldrow; a sister, Janice Gibson of Muldrow; and a brother, Billy Rogers of Muldrow.
The body may be viewed from noon to 9 p.m. today.
Thomas Durham
Thomas E. Durham, 86, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, in Arkoma. He was a retired employee of Halliburton Co. after 39 years of service and he attended Cavanaugh United Methodist Church.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Woodlawn Memorial Park Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Jerre; a daughter, Judith Raef of Pocola; and a sister, Dorothy Durham of Farmington, N.M.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Amos Jones
GANS — 1st Sgt. Amos Jones, E-8 retired, 79, of Gans died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, in Sallisaw. He was retired from the Army after 22 years of service as 1st sergeant. He served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of the First Assembly of God in Muldrow, a retired Pentecostal minister and a former employee of Sparks Hospital in Fort Smith.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Assembly of God in Muldrow with burial at Akins cemetery northeast of Sallisaw under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw, with 
military honors provided by Army personnel from Fort Sill, Okla.
He is survived by his wife, Marion Louise Jones; two sisters, Essie Henley and Pauline Keith, both of Wilson, Okla.; a brother, Aaron Jones of Euless, Texas; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be David and Dennis Jeremiah, Danny Drake, Shawn Gard, Gary Sharp and Mike Keith.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ethel Ralston
Ethel P. Ralston, 92, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003, in her home. She was born Aug. 19, 1911, in Charleston. She was a homemaker, a member of Central Presbyterian Church and Eastern Star of Charleston and the widow of F. Willard Ralston.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Central Presbyterian Church Parlor with burial at Hickory Ridge cemetery east of Lavaca under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort smith.
She is survived by two sons, F.W. Ralston of Fort Smith and Leonard Ralston of Bethesda, Md.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

SHADY POINT — Glenda June Tubby, 58, of Shady Point died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was born Nov. 20, 1944, in Shady Point. She was retired from Rheem Manufacturing in Fort Smith and was a member of the United Steel Workers Union.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Evans & Miller Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Poteau with burial at Shady Point cemetery.
She is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Anne Goddard of Fort Smith, Carol Stroud of Carrollton, Texas, and Cecelia Lacy of Irving, Texas; her mother, Victoria Lawson of Shady Point; two sisters, Loretha Grigsby and Janice Scroggins, both of Shady Point; and a brother, Terry Monks of Shady Point.

SALLISAW — Helen Stump of Sallisaw died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003.

Grace Lucille Waganer, 90, of Waldron passed away Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, at a Waldron hospital. She was born Oct. 9, 1913, in Winfield to Clifford and Zella Mae Denton. Mrs. Waganer was a homemaker and charter member of Temple Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Winfred, and her daughter, Donna Sue.
Mrs. Waganer is survived by one daughter, Sharon Waganer of Waldron; a grandson and his wife, Charley and Diana Hughes of Waldron; a son-in-law, Don martin of Mansfield; a grandson and his wife, Chris and Kim Martin of Howe; and a granddaughter and her husband, Beth and Kerry Plummer of Poteau. Other survivors include great-grandchildren, Jarrod Hughes of Russellville, Jordan Hughes of Waldron, Caleb and Taylor Martin of Howe, Kyler and Tayley Plummer of Poteau and Marsha and Ryan Horne of Witcherville; and great-great-grandchildren, Triston Nason and Charley Slagle. Also surviving are two sisters, Selma Moore of Waldron and Mildred Woodcock of McGhee; two nieces and a host of special friends.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. today at Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron with interment at Square Rock cemetery near Waldron. Serving as pallbearers will be Charley, Jarrod and Jordan Hughes, Chris and Caleb Martin and Bill Hunt. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Martin, Charles and Aneta Hunt and Jack and Charles Maxwell. Marvin Eugene Gennings
Marvin Eugene Gennings, 76, died suddenly on November 2, 2003. He was pastor of churches in four states spanning 46 years, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, great uncle and friend to many. He was born on August 29, 1927 in Newark, AR to Hugh M. Gennings and Avy Mae Bray Gennings with his twin brother, Marlin Rudene Gennings. The twins joined a loving Christian family of six other brothers and sisters. He graduated from Ouachita University in Arkadelphia, AR, in 1948 as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserves, and from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY, in 1953. He married
Rena Evans in 1949. He was pastor of Beirne Baptist Church in Beirne, AR from 1946-1948; Glen's Creek Baptist Church near Versailles, KY from 1948-1953; First Baptist Church in Eufaula, OK from 1954-1959; Southside Baptist Church, in Ft. Smith, AR from 1959-1968; Virginia Heights Baptist Church, in Roanoke, VA from 1968-1980; and Fairfax Circle Baptist Church, in Fairfax, VA, from 1980-1992. "Pop Pop" devoted his retirement years to his seven grandchildren, Kathleen Elizabeth Ford and Joseph Harding Ford of Waldorf, MD; Philip Gennings Harsh, David Alexander Harsh, and Nathan Barrett Harsh, of Chantilly, VA; and Drew Gennings Fulton and Jack Gennings Fulton of Richmond, VA. His legacy of hard work, thoughtfulness, love, commitment and generosity will endure through them. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 short years, Rena Evans Gennings, three daughters, Lynn Gennings Ford, Carol Gennings Harsh and Chris Gennings Fulton; three sons-in-law, Paul Andrew Ford, Bruce Douglass Harsh, and Otis Fulton; three brothers, Ben L. Gennings, of Batesville, AR; R. J. Gennings, of Searcy, AR; Marlin Rudene Gennings, of Jonesboro, AR,; and one sister, Valirie Terrell, of Sherman, TX; and many nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces, including Grady Frank Gennings, of Memphis, TN; Paul Edward Gennings, of Dallas, TX; John David Gennings, of Charlotte, NC. A service in celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Monument Avenue, Richmond, VA. Interment in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Patricia Ann Sevenstar
Patricia Ann Sevenstar of Fort Smith went to be with her beloved husband on Nov. 1, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was a former department manager for Harps grocery on Grand Avenue in Fort Smith. She is survived by two daughters, Melanie Crow and Kimberly Ford, both of Fort Smith; a son, Michael Sevenstar of Alma; two sisters, Orphia Moreno and Brenda Sexton, both of Fort Smith; and two brothers, Ronnie Tuck of Fort Smith and Terry Tuck of Muldrow. She will be greatly missed by three grandsons, Erik and Kaden Sevenstar and T.J. Crow; and three granddaughters, Laycee, Mikalee and Shaylee Sevenstar. She will be remembered by a host of nieces and nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Retha Tuck; her husband, Leon Sevenstar; three brothers, Carl, Sonny and Jerry Tuck; and one sister, Ruby Thornburg.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Belfonte Baptist Church of Belfonte, Okla., with burial at Belfonte cemetery. The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home today from 5 to 7 p.m.

Ruby Lee Lewis Poe
Ruby Lee Lewis Poe was born in Hayti, Mo., to Elmer and Minnie Shelton Lewis on Jan. 18, 1924, and died in Fort Smith on Nov. 1, 2003. She married
Jerome Hardin Poe in June 1940, and they shared 59 years of marriage.
Two daughters survive her: Ramona Kouri of Fort Smith and Sandra and husband Harold Madewell of Keota, Okla. There are four grandchildren: Rebecca and husband Danny Hobbs of Broken Arrow, Okla., Cynthia and husband Wayne Matlock of Bixby, Okla., Melissa Richardson of Appleton, Wis., and Neil and wife Mary McBee of Fort Bragg, N.C. There are nine great-grandchildren: Tony and Travis Metlock, Sha, Dashia and Jevon Richardson, Danielle and Nicole Hobbs, Brooke McBee and Jillian Chittrum.
Her main delight in life was her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She and her husband had traveled all over the United States with the Good Sam Camping Club. She enjoyed crocheting and other handiwork.
She overcame breast cancer in 2001. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society or Reynolds Cancer Support House in Fort Smith are greatly appreciated.
Family visitation will be today from 7 to 8 p.m. at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home in Fort Smith.

Winterfred Campbell Sears, 54, of Valdosta, Ga., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, in a Fort Smith hospital. Melvin Ralph “Hokey” Dunn
Melvin Ralph “Hokey” Dunn of Booneville died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, in Fort Smith hospital. He was born Aug. 4, 1919, in Milltown to the late Judge Roy and Effie L. Dunn, and moved to Booneville with his family in 1927. Dunn graduated from Booneville High School in 1937 and attended Arkansas Tech in 1938-39.
Dunn was involved in the organization of many businesses in Booneville. He formed Dunn Insurance Agency in 1947 and was later joined by partner, Charlotte Patterson. He was also a partner in Arkansas Wood Products, Citizens Investment Corp. and Booneville Realty.
Dunn served in the Aleutian Islands during World War II, and upon his return was one of the founding members of the Booneville Unit of the 101st Medical Battalion. Dunn also served in Germany during the
Korean War and retired as a captain from the Arkansas National Guard.
Dunn was a dedicated community leader. He was a charter member of the Booneville Industrial Development Corp. in 1954 and remained an active member. He was the first director of the Booneville Chamber of Commerce in 1948, and was awarded the Chamber’s highest honor, Citizen of the Year, in 1985. He also served as a director of Citizens Bank of Booneville. In 1977, he was inducted into the Arkansas Tech Hall of Distinction.
Dunn served as governor of Rotary District No. 611 in 1960-61. He was a past president of the Booneville Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International.
Dunn was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Booneville, where he served as Sunday school teacher, youth leader, choir member, lay leader and chairman of the Board of Trustees and administrative board.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Jeanette Atwood Dunn; and his sister, Juanita Ghent. He is survived by two sons, Don and wife, Cathy Dunn of Booneville and Jim and wife, Suzie Dunn of Fort Smith; a brother, Bobby Joe Dunn and wife, Claire of Russellville; five grandchildren, Shannon Lowe of Tulsa, Reed S. Dunn of Philadelphia, Amy J. Dunn of Little Rock, Julie S. Stewart of New Orleans and Matt Dunn of Fort Smith; and five great-grandchildren, Fletcher, Carson, Preston Lowe, Ethan Stewart, and Jennalee Dunn; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Hugh and Jane Atwood of Jonesboro.
Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. today at Oak Hill cemetery in Booneville, with a memorial service at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Booneville, followed by a family visitation at the Family Life Center under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home of Booneville.
Pallbearers are Reed Dunn, Matt Dunn, McCrary Lowe, Eric Stewart, Billy Bob Cauthron, Barry Krus, Milburn Brewster, Rick Lippard and Keith Olson.

Helen Marie Kelly Moody
Helen Marie Kelly Moody, 77, passed from this life into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, while in a Fort Smith hospital, where she was met by her parents, Harley John and May Kelly; a brother, Harold Kelly; a sister, Iris Brederick; and a great-grandson, William Copeland.
Helen was born Dec. 27, 1925, in Alma and spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was a lifelong member of the Church of the Nazarene, where many of her years were spent teaching Sunday school and playing the organ. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, member and past president of the Fort Smith Garden Club and a former member of the Chrysanthemum Society.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at First Church of the Nazarene, 4300 N. O St., with burial at Barling cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
She will be missed by her family that she leaves behind: her adoring husband of 60 years, Oran; three children, Gail Branstetter of Maumelle, Mona Lejman of Van Buren and Mike Moody of Fort Smith; a sister, Hazel Griffith of Fort Smith; five grandchildren, Stephanie Sanford of Alma, Chris Branstetter of Vista, Calif., Jenna Rader of Oklahoma City, Stephan Copeland of Fort Smith and Emily Wallace of Oliver Branch, Miss.; and her great-grandchildren, Patrick Sanford, Kristina Copeland, Wesley Copeland and Emma Kate Branstetter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Smith; one brother, Charles L. Lowrey Jr.; her great-great-grandson, Jake Scherrey; and her son-in-law, Charles Flanary.

She is survived by her daughter, Jean Flanary of Van Buren; one sister, Beulah Deason and her husband, Alvin of Overland Park, Kan.; one brother, Burrell Lowrey and his wife, Lou of Fort Smith. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Deborah Wiegand and her husband, Vincent, Rochelle Scherrey and her husband, David, Ross Flanary and his wife, Jill, Charles Flanary and his wife, Marie. Nine great-grandchildren, Kim Scherrey, Vincent Wiegand, Gary Weigand, David Scherrey and his wife, Susan, Bryan Scherrey and his wife, Liz, Josh Scherrey and wife, Mitzi, Melinda Flanary, Jennifer Flanary, William Flanary; and six great-great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.
