Norma Sharp
BOONEVILLE — Norma Faye Sharp, 79, of Booneville died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, in Booneville. She was a homemaker and a member of Southside Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Southside Baptist Church in Booneville with burial at Bud Davis cemetery near Booneville under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home of Booneville.
She is survived by her husband, J.Q.; three sons, Gary Sharp of Wichita, Kan., Larry Sharp of Hutchison, Kan., and Clarence Sharp of Littleton, Colo.; a brother, Ulysses Catlett of Benton; and eight grandchildren.

Beulah Green
SALLISAW — Beulah Mae Green, 98, of Sallisaw died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, in Muskogee, Okla. She was born Sept. 13, 1905, in Akins, Okla. She was a former school teacher at Copic Schools and a homemaker, a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Sallisaw and was a 50-year member of Electa Chapter No. 11 Order of the Eastern Star in Sallisaw. She was the widow of Fredrick Green.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Sallisaw City cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by a son, Robert Green of Muskogee, Okla.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church in Sallisaw.

Julia Asbill
SALLISAW — Julia Kathryn Asbill, 84, of Sallisaw died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, in Vian. She was a homemaker and attended Church of Christ.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday Mallory Funeral Home Chapel in Sallisaw with burial at Sallisaw City cemetery.
She is survived by three daughters, Phyllis Barger, Carol Asbill and Jimmie McKean; two sons, Harold and Gary Diffee; four sisters, Rita Littlejohn, Nettie Walkingstick, Jeannie Ritter and Barbara Boen; three brothers, Bill, Jim and Z.T. Brown; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Violet Coppinger
Violet Knox Coppinger, 73, of Van Buren, formerly of Ozark, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, in Van Buren. She was a homemaker, was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Ozark and the widow of James Knox.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with burial at Highland cemetery in Ozark. Arrangements are by Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville.
She is survived by her husband, Mac; two sons, Paul Knox of Ozark and James Knox of Warrenton, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Teresa Brandes of Harrison; a stepson, Steven Coppinger of Fayetteville; a sister, Velda Randall of Ozark; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark.

Zelma McBride
WALDRON — Zelma Iduma McBride, 101, of Waldron died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, in Waldron. She was a retired restaurant owner.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Chapel Hill Memorial Garden Chapel with burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Garden in Freeport, Ill. Local arrangements are under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron.
She is survived by a son, Wayne Hermann of Austin, Texas; four grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Vivian Harry
ALMA — Vivian Harry, 89, of Alma, formerly of Fort Smith, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, in Little Rock. She was past president of Business and Professional Women, a member of Oak Cliff Baptist Church, P.E.O. Liberty Chapter, the Sparks Auxiliary, R.S.V.P., the Pilot Club and past worthy matron of Eastern Star. She typed the first Social Security card in Fort Smith.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Forest Park cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Jane McLellan of Little Rock; a son, Jerry Harry of Alma; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

John Schmitt
John C. Schmitt, 83, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2003, in Fort Smith. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fort Smith, a World War II Army Corps veteran and was the widower of Melba Schmitt.
Wake service will be 7 p.m. today at Saint Boniface Catholic Church.
Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Saint Boniface Catholic Church with burial at Calvary cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by four daughters, Marian Griffin of Van Buren, Teresa Speir of Wagoner, Okla., Cathy Little of Fort Smith, and Jo Linebaugh of Garland, Texas; three sons, Jimmy and Tom Schmitt, both of Fort Smith, and Brother Jude Schmitt of Subiaco; a sister, Margaret Schmitt of Fort Smith; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Greg, Mark and Aaron Schmitt, Michael and Bryan McGuire, Eric and Scott Speir.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Boniface Catholic Church, 1820 N. B St., Fort Smith, AR 72901.

Diva Shrigley
FAYETTEVILLE — Diva Thompson Shrigley, 90, of Fayetteville, formerly of Clarksville, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, in Fayetteville. She was born Feb. 13, 1913, in Scranton. She was a Presbyterian and active in the church circle, the Beta Sigma Phi and the Supper Club. She was the widow of Dr. Guy Shrigley.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Oakland cemetery.
She is survived by a son, James Shrigley of Fayetteville; a sister, Pauline Kraus of Jacksonville, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

Walter Eglinsdoerfer
GREENWOOD — Walter C. Eglinsdoerfer, 83, of Greewood, formerly St. Joseph, Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003, in Fort Smith. He was born Aug. 29, 1920, in Springfield, Ill. He was an Army veteran of World War II having fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He retired from Auto Specialties after 35 years, was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph, was a lifetime member of Benton Harbor VFW Post No. 1137, and the widower of Elsie Eglinsdoerfer.
A celebration of life service was held Wednesday at Kerley & Starks Funeral Home in St. Joseph, Mo., with burial at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma with military rites conducted by Coloma American Legion Post No. 362, Watervleit VFW Post No. 6802 and Benton Harbor VFW Post No. 1137.
He is survived by a daughter, Karen Van Bremen of Herndon, Va.; three sons, Henry Eglinsdoerfer of Bountiful Utah, David Eglinsdoerfer of Martinez, Calif., and Kenneth Eglinsdoerfer of Greenwood; four sisters, Adeline Wells, Helen Jonatzke, Marian Stiles and Mary Braman; two brothers, Edward and Carl Eglinsdoerfer; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Lela Whittingslow
GREENWOOD — Lela M. Whittingslow, 87, of Greenwood died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was a member of St. Sabina and Mary’s Catholic Church in Jenny Lind, the VFW Auxiliary, and was retired fro Quick Freeze Locker Plant.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Fentress Mortuary Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Old Jenny Lind cemetery in Jenny Lind.
She is survived by two sisters, Lila Robison of Jenny Lind and Mildred King of Tulsa.
Pallbearers will be Ray Ramsey, Bill Clark, David Wiginton, Kenneth and Nathan Robison and Josh Rylee.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Sherman Pettigrew
Sherman Eugene Pettigrew, 68, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, in Fort Smith. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church, was an Army veteran and was a retired construction equipment operator.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Quiram of Minnesota; a son, Henry Pettigrew of Fort Smith; four stepdaughters, Debbie Ridener of Greenwood, Denice O’Dell of Hughes Springs, Texas, Turquince Hobbs of Warren, Texas, and Renee Lovelady of Spiro; four sisters, Lavon Craig, Minnie Nash and Dorothy Shirley, all of Fort Smith, and Cora Grantham of Arkoma; three brothers, Merrell Pettigrew of Spiro, Tom and Wayne Pettigrew, both of Fort Smith; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Darrel Beller
SHAFTER, Calif. — Darrel Floyd Beller, 61, of Shafter, Calif., formerly of Muldrow, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003. He was born Aug. 4, 1942, in Muldrow. He was a graduate of Arvin High School Class of 1959.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Peters Funeral Home in Shafter, Calif., with burial at Shafter Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila; a daughter, Cora Manning; a son, Cary Beller; his mother, Ruby Beller of Muldrow; a sister, Tammy Kelley of Muldrow; two brothers, Gene and Warren Beller, both of Bakersfield, Calif.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Versa Johnson
SPIRO — Versa Mae Johnson, 81, of Spiro died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Eastern Star Oziel Chapter No. 27 as the conductor of the chapter.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mallory Funeral Home Chapel in Spiro with burial at Fort Coffee cemetery in Spiro.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest; two daughters, Carolyn Brant and Evelyn Tillman, both of Lawton, Okla.; two sons, Hertis McKinney Sr. of Fort Smith and Bishop J.A. White of Russellville; a stepdaughter, Vernoa Phillips of Spiro; two stepsons, Terry Johnson of Fort Smith and Gary Johnson of Spiro; a sister, Clara Reed of Independence, Kan.; 23 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday.

Jennie Fuller
WALDRON — Jennie Ann Maxine Rogers Fuller, 83, of Waldron died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was a homemaker, a member of Waldron Church of Christ, and the widow of Franklin Fuller.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Waldron Church of Christ under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron.
She is survived by five daughters, Shirley Brewer of Porter, Okla., Carole Rose of Boles, Sheri Stubbs of DeQueen, Rhonda Piles of Parks, and Anitra Barnett of Hope; a son, Roger Fuller of Hot Springs; two sisters, Geraldine Knause of Detroit and Alice Rogers of Fort Smith; 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Clide Andrew “C.A.” Gipson
Clide Andrew “C.A.” Gipson, 65, of Greenwood died Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, in a Fort Smith hospital after a long illness. He was retired from Whirlpool, and was preceded in death by two children, Chris and Pam.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Antioch cemetery in Booneville.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Gipson of the home; and one brother, John Gipson of Washburn.
Pallbearers will be Allen Duckett, George Bell, Larry Glover, Don Lowe, Caroll Turner, Bob LeRue and John McCartney.
Viewing will be 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends.

John Sopher
OKLAHOMA CITY — John David E. Sopher, 49, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Sallisaw, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003. He was born Dec. 13, 1953 in Pueblo, Colo.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Sunny Lane cemetery under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Oklahoma City.
He is survived by his mother, Marilyn of Oklahoma City.
