SEARCY — David Randall “Randy” Martin, 43, of Searcy, formerly of Stigler, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2003, in Searcy. He worked many years as manager of McDonald’s in Tulsa, Owasso, Claremore, Broken Arrow and Searcy.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Mallory Funeral Home Chapel in Stigler with burial at Whitefield cemetery in Whitefield.
He is survived by a stepson, Sam Smith of Bald Knob; two sisters, Kamora Lopez of Tulsa and Janice Frye of Pocasset, Okla.
Pallbearers will be Lantze, Montie and Justin Frye, Enrique Lopez, Michael Hatfield and Jeff Bean.

Clifford Spegal
Clifford J. Spegal, 79, of Fort Smith died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, in his home. He was a Marine veteran of World War II and a truck driver for 42 years.
There will be no services. Cremation will be under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Goldie.

Curtis Frandsen
POTEAU — Curtis Jorgan Frandsen, 86, of Poteau died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, in his home. He was born Jan. 5, 1917, in St. Paul, Minn. He was a retired accountant and a member of Saint Michael’s Catholic Church in Van Buren.
No services are planned at this time. Cremation will be under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau.
He is survived by his wife, Florence; a son, Ron Frandsen of Poteau; a brother, Bud Frandsen; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mary Copelin
MENA — Mary Frances Copelin, 87, of Mena died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, in Mena. She was born Dec. 8, 1916, in DeQueen. She was the co-owner of Cope’s Auto Sales, a homemaker, a member of First Assembly of God and the widow of Robert Copelin.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Assembly of God in Mena with burial at Concord cemetery in Ink under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Liles of Mena; a son, Steve Copelin of Mena; a sister, Anne Bunyard of DeQueen; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bobby, Tim, LaDon, Kenneth and Richard Copelin, Roger Sharp and Gerald Liles.

Harry Cantwell
ZAFRA, Okla. — Harry J. “Captain” Cantwell, 87, of Zafra, Okla., died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, in Mena. He was born Dec. 19, 1915, in Baltimore. He served in the Merchant Marines, was a member of the Baltimore Fire Department and the youngest firefighter to make lieutenant, was a charter boat captain in the Bahamas, a custom fishing rod maker and an airline charter pilot.
He donated his body to science. Arrangements are under the direction of Hall Funeral Service of Mena.
He is survived by his wife, Doris.

Nina Pippin
ALMA — Nina Pippin, 63, of Alma died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of Concord Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Concord Baptist Church with burial at cemetery Ridge cemetery near Ozark under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by her husband, Leslie; a daughter, Tammie Patrick of Alma; two sons, Danny Pippin of Ozark and Dwain Pippin of Siloam Springs; her mother, Mildred Lewis of Alma; a sister, Joyce Alexander of Alma; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Rick Patrick, Gene Loyd, Dennis Stout, Paul Cooper, Maurice Inge, Avery Auten, Tom Humphreys and Jim McGimpsey.
The family will visit with friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Raymonde Wood
Raymonde Melanie Wood, 75, of Fort Smith died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Fort Smith, co-owner of Gene’s BBQ in Fort Smith. She was born in LaVache Noire, France, and during her teenage years was a runner for the French resistance during World War II in France. She was the widow of Eugene Wood.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Fentress Mortuary Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by two daughters, Melanie Reed of Fort Smith and Jeannine McCrea of Muldrow; three sons, Randy Wood of Fort Smith, Andre Wood of Muldrow and Roger Wood of Midwest City, Okla.; a sister, Marie Morice of Soissons, France; a brother, Norbert Morice of Vic Sur Aisne, France; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Randy, Andre, Roger and Augustus Wood, John McCrea and Tim Reed.
The family will visit with friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Hattie Edwards
GORE — Hattie Randolph Edwards, 88, of Gore died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, in Gore. She was a homemaker, a member of Gore United Methodist Church and was the widow of Chester Edwards.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Gore United Methodist Church with burial at Vian Garden of Memories under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by a daughter, Johnnie Evertson of Gore; a son, Clayton Edwards of Muskogee, Okla.; five sisters, Imogene Spiewak of Corpus Christi, Texas, Mary Matthews of Muskogee, Okla., Betty Nuckolls of Gore, Irene Lauducci of Vian and Wilma Shine of Gore; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Shane and Stan Evertson, Jason and Kyle Edwards, Kenneth Dugger and Steve Martin.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.

Ronald West
BONNEAU, S.C. — Ronald James West, 62, of Bonneau, S.C.. died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, in Charleston, S.C. He was born April 12, 1941, in Fort Smith. He was a 20-year retired Air Force veteran and was of the Catholic faith.
Service and burial will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Tri-County Cremation Center of Summerville, S.C.
He is survived by his wife, Judith; three children; two sisters; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Bobby Gene Moore
Bobby Gene Moore, 71, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, in his home. He was a local businessman. Owner and operator of the 5 Star Pest Control Co. He was a member of Midland Heights United Methodist Church, a graduate of Fort Smith High School Class of 1952 and an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents, James W. and Sarah Jane Moore; a sister, Pauline Wooden; two brothers, Tony Moore and Billy Joe Moore; and a stepson, Randy Burch.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. today at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gill cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by a stepdaughter, Rhonda Riddle of Van Buren; a stepson, Richard Burch of Van Buren; a sister, Vera Dart of Greenwood; two brothers, Truman and Buddy Moore, both of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Eric Anderson, Britton Riddle, Eric Burch, Bill Linn, Bill Myers and J.W. Wooden.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bill J., Michael, Tim Moore and Randy Moore, Jack Dart and Maxie Dart.

Sharon Kinard
Sharon Kinard, 61, entered into rest Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, in a local hospital. She was born April 19, 1942, in Santa Paula, Calif., the daughter of the late Clifford and Glenna Rodgers. Sharon was a plant supervisor for Bundy Tubing, of the Southern Baptist faith and former owner of a craft store, Country Gander. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Kenneth of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Gerald Provence of Winfrey Valley community; a son, Michael of Van Buren; two sisters, Judy Randall of Van Buren and Mary Beth Smith of Fayetteville; one brother, Mac Rodgers of Van Buren; and two grandchildren, Jason and Jeremy Provence. Memorial service will be 1 p.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith.

Harold Warren Watts
Harold Warren Watts, 64, of Muldrow died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, in Fort Smith. He was born Nov. 22, 1939, in San Diego. He was a burner at GNB Technologies for 27 years, attended Roland Assembly of God, was a 1959 graduate of Muldrow High School and an Army veteran.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Roland Assembly of God with burial at Cottonwood cemetery south of Muldrow under the direction Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow.
He is survived by his wife, Sue of the home; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Shannon and Delayna Watts of Muldrow, Rodney Watts of Muldrow, Shane and Brandi Watts of Muldrow and Shawn and Valerie Watts of Springfield, Mo.; four grandchildren, Ashlee, Drew, Payton and Trenton; a sister, Christine Graves and her husband, Michael of Fort Smith; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tommy and Judy Phillips of Fort Smith and Kathryn and Charles Proctor of Barling; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Bob Greenwood, Dennis Willis, Dele Hampton, Roger Crow, Fred Lincks, Bruce Tolbert and Mel Obana.
Honorary pallbearers will be co-workers and employees of GNB Technologies.

Katherine Sue Hail
Katherine Sue Hail, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003. She was a homemaker and a member of First Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Hail.
She is survived by two daughters, Sue Barnett and Linda Hail, both of Fort Smith; two granddaughters, Kim Hattaway and Melissa Roush and husband, Allen of Fort Smith; one grandson, Brian Barnett and wife, Stephanie of Fort Smith; two great-grandsons, Kenneth Paul and Lance; and one great-granddaughter, Destiny, all of Fort Smith.
A service of celebration will be 2 p.m. today at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Allen Stuckwisch officiating. Burial will be at Sallisaw City cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be John Paul Jones, George Gordon, Jim Gordon, Dr. Robert Gordon, Brian Barnett and Bill Bateman.

Michael Charles Keck
Michael Charles Keck, 60, of Pocola died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, in Fort Smith. He was a former resident of Fort Smith and he was a Catholic.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Oakland cemetery in Poteau under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by two sons, Michael Keck and David Keck, both of Muskegon, Mich.; a sister, Melinda Bates of Rogers; two brothers, Douglas Keck of Taylor, Ark., and James Dulice Keck of Pocola; and two grandchildren.

Darrell L. Crawford
Darrell L. Crawford, 81, of Van Buren died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, in a local hospital. He was a retired commercial contractor, a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the USS Charles Osborn Little Beaver Squadron. Mr. Crawford is preceded in death by his first wife, Melba Jean Crawford.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at Edwards Van-Alma Chapel with burial at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Chapel in Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Bourland Crawford of the home; a daughter, Chris Peterson of Austin, Texas; two sons, Wayne Crawford of Fort Worth, Texas, and James Crawford of Hurst, Texas; two stepdaughters, Nancy Ford of Pocola and Lynn Johnson of McCurtain; a stepson, Larry Bourland of Cleveland, Okla.; four sisters, Lorraine Osborne, Wanda Sallee, Lenice Gordon-Thompson and LaVona Kendrick, all of Van Buren; a brother, Lawrence Crawford of Van Buren; three grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one stepgreat-grandchild.

PORUM, Okla. — Lawrence “Toot” Stewart, 83, of Porum died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, in Muskogee, Okla.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. today at Mallory Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Coleman cemetery in Porum under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Stigler.
He is survived by his wife, Verlene; a son, Larry Max Stewart of Muskogee; a sister, Verlan Edwards of Oklahoma City; a brother, Lowell Stewart of Porum; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Charles, Bill and Jack Edwards, Greg Harrison and Wesley and Grant Stewart.
