Wayne Clark
Wayne Clark, 60, of Van Buren died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, in a local hospital. He was a Army veteran of the Vietname War. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service with 27 years and has been employed with Whirlpool for the past two and half years.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. today at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Mary of the home; four daughters, Roberta Clark of Roland, Tina Clark of Fort Smith, Lisa Vidal of Van Buren, and Amy Morris of Wagner, Okla.; a sister, Renee Gilstrap of Van Buren; a brother, Gary Clark of Tahlequah, Okla.; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mike Yancy, Gerald Yancy, David Whitsett, Riley Whitsett, John Whitsett and Mark Redding.

Zelma Yolando Clement
Zelma Yolando Clement, 74, of Van Buren died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, in a local hospital. She was a member of Evangel Temple in Fort Smith and a lifetime member and past president of PTA. She was a retired employee of K-mart and Wal-mart.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at Ocker Memorial Chapel with burial at Oak cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by her husband, Denver of the home; two daughters, Shirley Ann Wilson of Siloam Springs and Cynthia Hoffman of Memphis; a sister, Bobbie Carlisle of Fort Worth, Texas; two grandchildren, Eric Nelson and Angie Nelson; two stepgrandchildren, Cory Hoffman and Lance Hoffman; and four great-grandchildren, Clest, Rebecca, Dalton and Charlie Brooke.
Pallbearers will be Dean Epps, Murel Tabor, Joe Hoyle, Larry Combs, Wayne Farrar and Dino Hutchings.
Honorary pallbearers will be Upper Room Sunday school class.
The family will visit with friends today from 6 to 8 p.m.

LaVonne Sanow
MCPHERSON, Kan. — Lavonne E. “Vonnie” Sanow, 73, of McPherson, Kan., formerly of Mount Vernon, N.H., died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, in McPherson. She was born Jan. 24, 1930, in Remsen, Iowa. She graduated from Central High School in LeMars, Iowa in 1948 and Fort Smith Junior College, was office manager for Nimslo Professional Products in Van Buren and a member of Countryside Covenant Church in McPherson, Kan. She was the widow of Frank Dunn.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Glidden-Ediger Chapel in McPherson, Kan. with burial at McPherson cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary McGuire of Mount Vernon, N.H., and Michelle Smith of McPherson, Kan.; three sons, John Dunn of Kansas City, Kan., Kelly and Dan Dunn, both of Kansas City, Mo.; two sisters, Virginia Schultz of LeMars, Iowa, and Joyce Gotto of Glendora, Calif.; two brothers, Lawrence and Delbert Sanow, both of LeMars, Iowa; 11 grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one stepgreat-grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Evangelical Church in McPherson, Kan.

Clarence Morris
CLARKSVILLE — Clarence Eugene Morris, 74, of Clarksville died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, in Clarksville. He was an Army veteran, a retired auto-body repairman and was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. today at First Presbyterian Church in Clarksville under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia; two sons, Harold Morris of Colorado and Clarence Morris II of California; a sister, Margaret McNeely of Rison; a brother, James Morris of California; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Clarksville.

E.A. Medlin III
FORT WORTH, Texas — E.A. “Zeke” Medlin III, 68, of Fort Worth, Texas died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, in his home. He was born Jan. 6, 1935, in Fort Smith. He was retired from American General Insurance Company.
Funeral was held Monday at Laurel Land Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Fort Worth, Texas, with burial at Laurel Land Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife, Elois; a daughter, Pam; a son, Kevin; a sister, Helen; two brothers, Robert and Curtis; and three grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society of North Texas or the American Cancer Society.

Mary Pyron
HARTMAN — May Katherine Pyron, 73, of Hartman died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, in her home. She was a homemaker, a Baptist and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Coal Hill. She was the widow of Leroy Pyron.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with graveside service at 4 p.m. at Sunset cemetery Memorial Park in West Helena.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen Hurst of Hartman and Judy Williams of Sheridan; three sisters, Gwin Ray of West Helena, Lois Kelley of Haskell, and Stella Sharp of Jacksonville; two brothers, Gene Dyce of Alvarado, Texas and Walter Dyce of Othello, Wash.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bill Duke, Eddie Pyron, Coy Rimmer, Rufas Ray, Jim Lane and Dean Mayfield.

Howard Clinton
HARTMAN — Howard D. Clinton, 89, of Hartman died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, in his home.
Funeral was held Monday at Liberty Hill Church in Hunt with burial at Liberty Hill cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine.
Pallbearers were Don and Keith Garrett, Charles and Jerry Jones, Paul Timmerman and Don Castleberry.

Jackie Marrow
WISTER — Jackie Ruth Marrow, 59, of Wister died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, in Poteau. She was a member of Believers Fellowship Church.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Believers Fellowship Church in Wister with burial at Muse cemetery in Muse under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
She is survived by her husband, Raymon; three daughters, Shelly Cosper, Melisa Sullivan, and Kaye Brown, all of Wister; two sons, Harold Day of Rose, Okla., and Allen Marrow of Talihina; two sisters, Joyce Burnett and Sandy Nichols, both of Wister; three brothers, Orlen Alexander of Prescott, Ariz., Butch Alexander of Talihina and Daniel Alexander of McAlester, Okla.; and 11 grandchildren.

Ruby Brinkley
POCOLA — Ruby Brinkley, 90, of Pocola died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, in Fort Smith. She worked with the senior citizens and was the widow of Raymond Brinkley.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Harvest Time Tabernacle, 405 East Wing Room. Cremation will be under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.
She is survived by a daughter, Wanda Wilson of Pocola; a sister, Pauline Johnson of Porterville, Calif.; four grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

Rev. Walter Matthews Jr.
HATTON — The Rev. Walter Roy Matthews Jr., 77, of Hatton died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, in his home. He was born June 8, 1926, in Naugatuck, Conn. He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War, was a member of Hatfield Methodist Church and the VFW.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Vandervoort Methodist Church under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
He is survived by his wife, June; two daughters, Barbara Ezell and Rebecca Matthews, both of Hatton; four sons, Walter Matthews III of Lake City, Fla., Joseph Matthews of Stark, Fla., George Matthews of Orlando, Fla., and Thomas Matthews of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two sisters, Vera Worrell and Patricia Lewis, both of Phoenix; a brother, Grant Matthews of Stratford, Conn.; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be the VFW Post in Wickes.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Kenneth Stiles
DIKE, Texas — Kenneth Lee Stiles, 68, of Dike, Texas died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, in Texas. He was born June 7, 1935, in Rossville, Okla. He served in the Marine Corps, was a furniture mover for Atlas Van Lines and the widower of Margaret Stiles.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rocky cemetery under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
He is survived by a sister, Nona Finney of Dallas; four stepdaughters, Debra, Terri and Carolyn Downing, all of Dallas, and Shirley Frost of Mena; a stepson, Ronnie Downing of Pampa, Texas.

Ordie Stamper
STIGLER — Ordie “L.C.” Stamper, 88, of Stigler died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, in Stigler. He worked in the oil fields before his retirement.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Brooken Free Will Baptist Church with burial at Enterprise cemetery in Enterprise under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Stigler.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Joy Cox of Muskogee, Okla.; four sons, Clyde and Jimmy Stamper, both of Lawton, Okla., David Stamper of Muskogee, Okla., and Phillip Stamper of Brooken, Okla.; two sisters, Doris McFarland and Jan Farris, both of Salina, Kan.; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Robert Cummings
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Robert Lamar Cummings, 61, of Corpus Christi, Texas, formerly of Mena, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, in Texas.
Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. today in Victoria, Texas with burial at Memory Gardens cemetery in Victoria. Obituary submitted by Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
He is survived by his wife Margie; his mother, Lucille Cummings of Mena; three half sisters and two half brothers.

Leola Williams
CLARKSVILE — Leola M. Williams, 92, of Clarksville died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, in Clarksville. She was born March 29, 1911, in Clarksville. She was a seamstress, a former employee of ARVAC, and worked in the Johnson County Circuit Clerk office and Tax Assessor office for several years. She worked in the nursery at First Baptist Church for many years and was the widow of Roger Williams.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Oakland cemetery in Clarksville.
She is survived by a stepdaughter, Verladean Park of Clarksville; a sister, Florence Medford of New Orleans; six stepgrandchildren, several stepgreat-grandchildren and several stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

Glen Childs
BOONEVILLE — Glen Ray Childs, 73, of Booneville, formerly of Kinapa, Texas, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, in Booneville. He was a Navy veteran, a retired gun dealer and a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Booneville.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Faith Lutheran Church in Booneville. Arrangements are under the direction of Murry Funeral Home of Paris.
He is survived by one daughter; and one son.

Lester Taylor
MIDLAND — Lester Taylor, 86, of Midland died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, in his home. He was a retired mechanic and an Army veteran of World War II.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Midland with burial at Mount Olive cemetery in Midland under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
He is survived by his wife, Fern; a daughter, Anita Holt of Midland; a son, Thomas Hale of Hartford; two sisters, Hazel Cameron of Hackett and Beulah Jones of Arkoma; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Holt, Alan Hale, James and Cody Shackelford, Tim Ray and Danny Saxton.
The body may be viewed 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
