Ruth Crow
Ruth Hatcher Crow, 95, of Fort Smith died Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, in a local nursing home. She was a homemaker, a member of Central Presbyterian Church, formerly a member of First Presbyterian Church of Springdale and the widow of Earnest Crow.
Graveside memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Bluff cemetery in Springdale under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by two sons, Philip Crow of Mount Laurel, N.J., and Robert Crow of Tulsa; and six grandchildren.

Rebecca Byrd
GANS — Rebecca Ann Byrd, 38, of Gans died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004, in Fort Smith. She was born Feb. 23, 1965, in Yellville. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Gans Bible Church with burial at Gans cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; three daughters, Heather, Stephanie and Tiffany Byrd, all of the home; two sons, Jason and Joshua Byrd, both of the home; a sister, Ruth Araujo of Gans; two brothers, Jeffrey Mann of Gans and Charles Smith of Jefferson City, Mo.; and two grandchildren.
The body may be viewed 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Joe Ross
SPIRO — Joe Ross, 81, of Spiro died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004, in Fort Smith. He was a member of Spiro United Methodist Church, the American Legion and VFW, taught Vo Ag for Spiro Schools, was an adviser to 16 American farmers, 56 state farmers, plus many state and national judging teams, and was named Honorary American Farmer in 1981.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Spiro United Methodist Church with burial at New cemetery in Spiro under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn; a daughter, Susan Bartholomew of Spiro; a son, Tommy Ross of Spiro; a sister, Lois Paschal of Beggs, Okla.; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mark Cox, Marvin Morton, Charly Tobler Jr., John Woods, Jerry Rogers and DeWayne Welker.
Honorary pallbearers will be former students, current Ag teachers and former FFA presidents.
Memorial contributions may be made to Spiro United Methodist Church.

Lloyd McFadden Sr.
CLARKSVILLE — Lloyd Ralph McFadden Sr., 59, of Clarksville died Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, in Clarksville. He was born May 1, 1944, in Rock Springs, Wyo. He was a member of Labor Local Union No. 1290 and was retired from J.C. Dunn Construction Co. in Kansas City, Mo.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Liberty Hill cemetery in Hunt.
He is survived by his wife, Lora; a daughter, Stephanie Harper of Louisburg, Kan.; two sons, Lloyd McFadden Jr. of California and John Miner of Clarksville; two sisters, Dorothy Brown of Hartman and Ruby Gay of Pine Bluff; a brother, Harold McFadden of Santa Barbara, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Lloyd McFadden Jr., John Miner, Larry Harper, John Brown, Jarred and Harold McFadden.
The family will visit with friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Ocie Myers
POTEAU — Ocie Lucille Tucker Myers, 83, of Poteau died Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, in Poteau. She was born May 15, 1920, in Cameron. She was a graduate of Cameron High School, of the Methodist faith, a homemaker, a sales clerk, a member of MI-LE Art Club and the widow of Leonard Myers.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Evans & Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Poteau with burial at Oakland cemetery in Poteau.
She is survived by a son, Kenneth Myers of Poteau; three sisters, Louise Finton of Granbury, Texas, Edith Bomar and Erma Sulivant, both of Poteau; four brothers, Harrell Tucker of Cameron, William and Marvin Tucker, both of Poteau, and Herbert Tucker of Heavener; and one grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Marvin, Herbert, Eugene and Donnie Tucker, Bobby Myers and John Boevers.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Fay Steward
SAN JACINTO, Calif. — Fay M. “Arkie” Steward, 78, of San Jacinto, Calif., died Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, in his home. He was born Nov. 15, 1925, in Rudy. He was an electrician for Agri Empire for 38 years.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at McWane Family Funeral Home in Hemet, Calif., with burial at San Jacinto Valley cemetery.
He is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Wiley and Geraldine Banks, both of San Jacinto, Calif., and Alene Stewart of Centralia, Wash.; two sons, Floyd Steward of Hemet, Calif., and Lloyd Steward of San Jacinto, Calif.; three sisters, Vanitis Willis of Kibler, Welladean Steward of Fort Smith and Marie Shipman of Van Buren; two brothers, J.B. and Wallace Steward, both of Van Buren; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Ashlynn Albertson
Ashlynn Paige Albertson, 1, of Fort Smith died Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, in a Little Rock hospital.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at James Fork Baptist Church with burial at Gilliam cemetery in Greenwood under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by her parents, Barnnie and Heather Albertson III of Fort Smith; her maternal grandparents, Verman and Pat Gallimore of Mansfield; paternal grandparents, Barnnie Albertson Jr. of Barling and Anna Duvall of Van Buren; great-grandparents, John Gallimore of Mansfield and Annie Edwards of Greenwood; great-great-grandparent, Lessie McBride of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Thomas and Jody Mize, Greg Carman and Owen Edwards.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Owen Martin
WISTER — Owen C. Martin, 91, of Wister died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, in Poteau. He was born Feb. 22, 1912, in Wister. He was a rancher and farmer, a member of Bethel Baptist Church and the widower of Ola Martin.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Bethel Baptist Church in Wister with burial at Ellis Chapel cemetery in Wister under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
He is survived by a brother, Howard Martin of Amarillo, Texas; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dean Covey, Leon Midgley, Ike Caudell, Harmon Robison, Ricky Crane, Billy Baldwin, Bud and Cliff Morgan.

William Hartmann
GREENWOOD — William Geoffery Hartmann, 44, of Greenwood died Monday, Jan. 5, 2004. He was born in New York City, graduated from Battle Ground Academy in Franklin, Tenn., attended Rhodes College in Memphis and the Art Institute of Atlanta, where he graduated with a degree in photography, University of Arkansas at Fort Smith, where he received his RN, taught Sunday school at Grace Church in Little Rock and served as camp nurse, was employed by UAMS and St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock, St. Edward and Sparks Hospitals in Fort Smith, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Greenwood.
A celebration of life service will be 2 p.m. Jan. 24 at First Baptist Church in Greenwood, his ashes will be spread in a private ceremony at Kamp. Arrangements are by Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia; two daughters, Christy and Grace, both of Greenwood; his parents, Dr. and Mrs. William Hartmann of Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Lindsey Cather of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, Dr. Dan Hartmann of Missoula, Mont.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Family Life Center Building Fund.

Elmer Jones
CLARKSVILLE — Elmer “Dude” Jones, 76, of Clarksville died Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, in Clarksville. He was retired from Formall Co., was an Army veteran of World War II, attended the New Life Christian Center and was the widower of Patsy Jones.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Shady Grove cemetery in Clarksville.
He is survived by a daughter, Patsy Jones of Clarksville; a sister, Evleen Gipson of Kansas City, Kan.; two brothers, Ulus Jones of Clarksville and James Jones of Tahelquah, Okla.
Pallbearers will be Danny and Charlie Goodin, Charles Box, Duane Steele, Mike Gronstal and Donald Meek.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Life Christian Center of Clarksville.

MENA — Christina Patricia Maher, 53, of Mena died Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, in Mena. She was born July 31, 1950, in Bangor, Maine. She was a operator for AT&T and was of the Catholic faith.
The body was sent for cremation under the direction of Hall Funeral Service of Mena.
She is survived by her mother, Dawn Maher of Bangor, Maine; a sister, Pamela Farrar of Seminola, Fla.; a brother, Daniel Maher of Bangor, Maine; and a companion, David Parsons.

Thelma Irwin
ROANOKE, Va. — Thelma Holland Irwin, 96, of Roanoke, Va., died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, in a Salem, Va., nursing home. She was born Feb. 14, 1907, in Vinton, Va. She was a homemaker, a member of Order of the Eastern Star Vinton Chapter No. 136, and the Vinton Baptist Church and was the widow of Homer Irwin.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Highland cemetery in Ozark under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
She survived by a sister, Christine Wiley of Roanoke, Va.

Charles Daws
ARKOMA — Charles Daws, 71, of Arkoma died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2003, in Fort Smith. He was a retired employee of the Van Buren Public School System and an Army veteran.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at 2 p.m. at Ottawa Indian cemetery in Miami, Okla.
He is survived by his wife, Cleta; five daughters, Donna Miller of Norco, Calif., Judith Bradley of Miami, Okla., Delinda Howell of Van Buren, Eulene Roberts of Grove, Okla., and Johna Butler of Hamilton, Mo.; a son, Dairl Daws of Poteau; two sisters, Odell Harvel of Heavener and Lucille Lane of Modesto, Calif.; a brother, Edward Daws of Arkoma; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Talon Hollenbeck, Mitch Bradley, Zachary Howell, Charles, Pepper and Richard King.

Gomer Harper
PARIS — Gomer L. Harper, 88, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, in a Paris nursing home. He was born Aug. 7, 1915, in Logan County. He was a dairy and mink farmer, a lifelong resident of Paris, a member of the Church of Christ and an Army veteran of World War II. He was active in organizing and helping fund local veteran memorial events.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of Christ in Paris with burial at Oakwood cemetery in Paris under the direction of Murry Funeral Home of Paris.
He is survived by his wife, Colela; a daughter, Donna Bice of Greenwood; a sister, Crystal Kimmons of Fort Smith; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Zeiler, Tod Paterson, James Parker, Don King, Bob Featherston and Johnny Goodson.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to hospice.

Frances Patterson
SOUTH JORDAN, Utah — Frances Patterson, 79, of South Jordan died Jan. 3, 2004, in South Jordan.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Pleasant Hill cemetery in Hackett under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by three daughters, Ivia Anderson of South Jordan, Brenda McLaren of Hitchcock, Texas, and Claudine Bowen of Charleston; two sons, James Giboney and Robert Dupree, both of Yeager, Okla.; a sister, Beverly Ingram of McAlester, Okla.; four brothers, Thurman Ingram of Yeager, William Ingram of South Jordan, Gordon Ingram of Holdenvlle and Larry Ingram of McAlester; 16 grandchildren; also great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy and Jessy Giboney, Bobby and Clinton Dupree, Galen and Clyde Bowen and James Patton.
The family will visit with friends from 11 a.m. to noon Monday at the funeral home.
