Tommy Jack Lansdell
Tommy Jack Lansdell, 61, of Van Buren died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, in a local hospital. He was of the Baptist faith and an employee of Bekaert Steel Wire Co. Preceded in death by his father, J.J. Lansdell.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Ocker Memorial Chapel in with burial at Hall cemetery in Natural Dam under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Ann of the home; two daughters, Karen Kimes of Cordova, Tenn., and Chandra Owen of Lead, S.D.; a son, Ronnie Lee Lansdell of Canada; his mother, Mary Lou Lansdell of Van Buren; a sister, Anna Sue Byars of Loveland, Ohio; two brothers, Jimmy and Billy Bob Lansdell, both of Van Buren; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Alvis Ingram, Terry Duncan, Jim Maxey, Richard Means, Mike Yerton, Johnny Bessett, Speedy Graves and Joe Hau.
The Rev. Ivan L. Hoffman Sr.
The Rev. Ivan L. Hoffman Sr., 79, of Rudy died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, in a local hospital. He was a resident of the Hobbtown community for several years and was a former pastor of Hobbtown Community Church. He was pastor of churches in Iowa, Missouri and Arkansas for 43 years. He was a member of Parkview Alliance Church and was also a member of the North Arkansas Gospel Mission. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Ettie Scott Hoffman; and four brothers.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Parkview Alliance Church under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at French cemetery in Woolstock, Iowa, under the direction of Foust Funeral Home of Eagle Grove, Iowa.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Hoffman of the home; three daughters, Rosemary Hays of Alma, Betty Dillenburg of Rudy and Rachel Van Devender of Alma; two sons, Ivan Hoffman Jr. and Terry Hoffman, both of Rudy; a sister, Darlene Marshall of Fairfield, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Larry Phipps, Adam Konopka, Kenny Sagely, Richard Nuckles, Bob Wineinger and Jerry Kraus.
Lucy Leo Patterson
Lucy Leo Patterson, 82, of Fort Smith passed away Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, in Fort Smith. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin M. Patterson.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at Wesley United Methodist Church with burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Beverly Thomas of Oklahoma City; three sons, Jim Patterson of Springfield, Mo., Leo Patterson and David Patterson, both of Fort Smith; a sister, Dorothy Kelly of Tulsa; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Nally, Karen Freeman, Steve Patterson, Greg Nally, John Patterson, Jacob Patterson, Brandon Patterson, Laura Johnson and Bryan Patterson.
Family will receive friends Sunday afternoon 2 to 4 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home.

MENA — Angelina “Angie” Rose Tuccio, 85, of Mena died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, in Mena. She was born March 9, 1918, in Ansonia, Conn. She was a homemaker, a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and the widow of James Tuccio.
Mass will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Agnes Catholic Church with burial at Calvary cemetery under the direction of Hall Funeral Service of Mena.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Matejek of Mena; three brothers, Joseph Pitingoro of Ansonia, Conn., Michael Pitingoro of Seymour, Conn., and James Pitingoro of Mena; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be James, Mark, Thomas, Jeffery and Jason Matejek, Steve Pulice, Gary and Jerry Ryan.

Jackie Bowen Crippen, 65, of Van Buren died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, in her home. She was a homemaker, a member of the Barling United Methodist Church and a former employee of General Electric and Trane.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren.
She is survived by her husband, David; a daughter, Jan Redden of Van Buren; a son, Marty Hawkins of Coconut Creek, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ray Tittle, Gary Crippen, Reece and Bob Hawkins, Wayne Redden, Jimmy Stephens and Robert Cherry.

CLARKSVILLE — Alice Mae Walter, 84, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was born July 6, 1919, in Fayetteville, Tenn. She was a graduate of Orville High School in Orville, Ala., a member of Hilltop Bible Church and the widow of Freddie Walter.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Harmony Presbyterian Church with burial at Harmony cemetery in Harmony under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville.
She is survived by two daughters, Freda Walter of Clarksville and Alice Roberson of Bartlesville, Okla.; a son, William Meeks of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Phillips, Daniel and Mike Sanborn, Bob Bean, Bob Accord and Alan Ashlock.

MENA — Larry Lane Williams, 65, of Mena died Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, in his home. He was born July 6, 1938, in Campwood, Texas. He worked for U.S. Motors and was of the Baptist faith.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Board Camp cemetery under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
He is survived by his wife, Julia; three daughters, Candy Williams of Mena, Lisa Mace of California and Mary Peters of Hatfield; two sons, Larry Williams Jr. of Mena and Lynn Williams of Fort Smith; a brother, Millard Williams of Lorena, Texas; four stepsons, Josh Moore of Tulsa, Wesley Powell of Joplin, Mo., Roger Powell of Sapulpa, Okla., and James Crowder Jr. of Pineville, Mo.; and nine grandchildren.

Geraldine “Dean” Elliott, 82, of Jenny Lind died Friday, 13, 2004, in Greenwood. She was a homemaker and a member of God’s House of Prayer in Fort Smith.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Rose Garden Full Gospel Church with burial at Old Jenny Lind cemetery in Jenny Lind under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
She is survived by her husband, Earnest; a daughter, Mary Resch of Hereford, Texas; three sons, Wayne Elliott of Tyler, Texas, Gerald Elliott of Cedarville and Earnest Elliott of Jenny Lind; two sisters, Georgie Booth of Fort Smith and Billie Cheek of Jenny Lind; two brothers, Roy and Kenneth Taylor, both of Alma; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

PANAMA — Janet Pulice, 64, of Panama died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, in her home. She was born April 22, 1940, in Heavener. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Panama.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Panama with burial at Heavener Memorial Park under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen; two daughters, Kim Johnson of Oregon and Jodi Eppard of Washington; three sons, Greg and Dean Bradley, both of Washington, and Donn Bradley of California; a sister, Donna Clouse of Shady Point; and several grandchildren.
Viewing will be 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

John Hull
WALDRON — John Watson Hull, 82, of Waldron died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, in Waldron. He was an aircraft machinist and an Air Force veteran of World War II.
Interment will be at El Camino Memorial Park in San Diego. Local arrangements under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron.
He is survived by a sister, Mary Thomas of Stillwater, Okla.; two brothers, George Hull of Coffeyville, Kan., and Charles Hull of Joplin, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Barbara Craig of San Diego and Paula Desmond of Rialto, Calif.
Joseph Love
MENA — Joseph E. Love, 86, of Mena died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, in Mena. He was born Sept. 6, 1917, in Bevier, Mo. He was a retired Marine with from 1942 to 1963, during World War II and the 
Korean War, was in the Battle of Midway where he earned the Purple Heart, worked for the United States Government as a aircraft electrician, was a member of National Association of Federal Retirees, the VFW, Purple Heart organizations, and a member of First Christian Church in Mena.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at Beasley-Wood Funeral Home Chapel in Mena. The body will be sent for cremation then interred at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Sybil; and a brother, Robert Love of Macon, Mo.
The family will visit with friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Lonial Caro
Lonial Nelson Caro, 83, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, in Van Buren. He was born March 11, 1920, in Thurbur, Texas. He was a retired Army first lieutenant who served 28 years of active military, was a veteran of the World War II and the Korean and Vietnam wars, was awarded the Silver Star, the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster in World War II, the Silver Star and a battlefield commission in Korean, and Bronze Star in Vietnam. He was the widower of Ella Caro.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau.
He is survived by four daughters, Pat Morris of Fort Smith, Brenda Holst of Grovois Mills, Mo., Barbara Caro of Poteau and Joan Small of Vancouver, Wash.; a son, David Caro of Yukon, Okla.; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Harold Vaughn
WISTER — Harold J. Vaughn, 69, of Wister died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born Feb. 25, 1934, in Wister. He was a logger, farmer and rancher, and a member of First Baptist Church in Wister.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Ellis Chapel Church with burial at Ellis Chapel cemetery in Wister under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
He is survived by his wife, Nita; a daughter, Patricia Hildebrant of Wister; three sons, James, Tim and Tom Vaughn, all of Wister; a brother, Carrel Vaughn of Wister; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Wayne and Dennis Donaho, Rick, Clint and Dustin Vaughn and Andy Baker.
Walter Boyd
BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — Walter Clifford “Big Dub” Boyd, 78, of Broken Arrow formerly of Fort Smith, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004, in Broken Arrow. He served in World War II. He worked for Pennwell Publishing Co. and was the widower of Dolores Boyd.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow with burial at Floral Haven cemetery in Broken Arrow.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; a daughter, Debra Beard of Broken Arrow; two sons, Gary and Walter Boyd Jr.; a sister, Bernie Houser of Fort Smith; a brother, Bill Boyd of Fort Smith; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

SALLISAW — Ashley LeeAnn Bateman, 6, of Sallisaw died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, in Sallisaw. She was in kindergarten at Eastside Elementary School in Sallisaw.
Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Mallory Funeral Home Chapel in Sallisaw with burial at Sallisaw City cemetery.
She is survived by her parents, David and Rhonda Bateman of Sallisaw; a sister, Brandy Bateman of Sallisaw; a brother, Jacob Bateman of the home; her grandparents, David Bateman Sr. of Sallisaw, Laveta Bateman of Sallisaw, Dina Howe of Vian, Larry Goins of Mansfield; and great-grandparents, Deloris Nelms of Vian and Ed Goins of Van Buren.
