Peggy Deloris Walter Deal
Peggy Deloris Walter Deal, 65, of Van Buren died Monday, April 5, 2004, in a local hospital. She was born in Shreveport, La., on Nov. 18, 1938, and was retired from Unitog. She was a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Walter.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2004, at Ocker Memorial Chapel with burial at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 46 years, Richard Deal of the home; two daughters, Inez Mann and husband, Earl of Van Buren and Joanna Inman and husband, Rod of Van Buren; a son, William Deal and wife, Mary of Beebe; her mother, Grace Walter of Wister; five sisters, Betty Van Pelt and husband, Heinz and Jeannie Nichols, both of Wister, Sharon Earls and husband, Olen of Heavener, Diann Pebsworth and husband, Ray of Goodwill, Okla., and Becky Higgins and husband, Billy of Macks Creek, Mo.; one brother-in-law, Jim Deal and wife, Patsy; five sisters-in-law, Bessie Jerden, Lavon Goree, Kay Klomfas and husband, Bruce and Peggy Sweet, all of Van Buren, and Betty Daves and husband, Jerald of Conway; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Burkhart, John Ray Jerden, Jerry Mann, Steve Gann, Allen Gibson, Keith Septor and Bobby Jerden.
Honorary pallbearers will be Harry Scheele, Randall Hudson and all of her brothers-in-law.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, 700 Jefferson in Van Buren.

Prentice R. Reeves
Prentice R. Reeves, 79, of Alma died Monday, April 5, 2004, in a local nursing home. He was born Sept. 15, 1924, in Eufaula, Okla. He was a member of God’s Harvest Pentecostal Church in Alma and a retired employee of Allied Electric. Preceded in death by his wife, Jacquelin Avery Reeves and his parents, Joe and Edna.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. today at Ocker Chapel in Alma with burial at Oak cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Ramona and Jeff Hobbs of Alma; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mickey and Judy Darden of Rudy, Melton and Beth Darden of Cypress, Ill., and Daryl and Connie Darden of Van Buren; a sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Archie Hobbs of Van Buren; a brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Dawn Reeves of Benton, Kan.; and 10 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Matthew and Zachary Darden, Charles, Aaron and Jeff Hobbs, Robert Graham and Mickey Darden.

Belinda J. Fagala Romanovich
Belinda J. Fagala Romanovich, age 53, of Chipley, Fla., died Sunday, April 4, 2004, at Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Chipley. She was born Aug. 2, 1950, in Fort Worth, Texas to Gene and Rae Lauer.
She moved with her parents to Bentonville at age six and was raised in Bentonville, graduating from Bentonville High School Class of 1968. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She loved reading, loved the water and going to movies.
She is survived by her husband, George Romanovich of Chipley, Fla.; two daughters, Tara Thompson and Ellen Fagala of Chipley, Fla.; her parents, Rae and Gene Lauer of Bentonville; a brother, John Rawlings of Bentonville; and four grandchildren.
A visitation is scheduled for Friday, April 9, 2004, from 1 p.m. to funeral time at 3 p.m. at Backstrom-Pyeatte Chapel in Bentonville with the Rev. Phillip Smith officiating. Burial will be at Bentonville cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3291 S. Thompson, Suite D104, Springdale, AR 72764.
Arrangements are by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Bentonville.

Wyatt Jackson Silgar
Wyatt Jackson Silgar, infant son of Ronald D. and Bobbi J. Ward Sligar of Bentonville, was born and died Sunday, April 4, 2004. He was born at Willow Creek Women’s Center in Johnson, and died at Northwest Medical Center of Washington County in Springdale. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Sue Sligar.
Survivors include his parents, Ron and Bobbi of the home; his twin brother, Ethan Lee Sligar of the home; one sister, Tracy Sue Sligar of Summers; maternal grandparents, Debbie and John Taylor of Gentry and Jim and Vergean Ward of Kibler; paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Ann Sligar of St. Joseph, Mo.; great-grandparents, George and Betty Clark of Gentry, Bobbie Odgon of Springtown, and Alice Ward of Henryetta, Okla.; aunts, Vicki Jude of Siloam Springs, Sherri and Mike Chaffee of Siloam Springs, Vera Sligar of Summers, Darla Davidson of Gentry, Charlotte Burrow of Noel, Mo., and Karen Hancock of Prairie Grove.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 10 at Fairmont cemetery in Benton County, with the Rev. Larry Hendren officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made for baby Ethan’s medical expenses to the Arvest Bank in Gentry. Arrangements are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Ryan Anthony Blackstock
Ryan Anthony Blackstock, 16, of Van Buren passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2004, in Fort Smith. He was a junior at Van Buren High School. He loved street basketball and rap music. He also played baseball for the Van Buren Boys and Girls Club. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Van Buren.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2004 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Gill cemetery under the direction of Edward Van-Alma Funeral Home.
He is survived by his parents, Lorie and James Lee Jurden of Van Buren; a brother, Cody Jurden of Van Buren; grandparents, Nancy and Richard Millsap of Uniontown, Patricia and R.B. Blackstock of San Antonio, Donald and Geraldine Maupin of Fort Worth, Texas; aunts and uncles, Traci Blackstock of Fort Smith, Cyndi and John Bilyeu of Fayetteville, Wendi and Terry Grazier of Alma, Jason and Raven Millsap of Gray, Ky., Glen and Kim Paul of Arlington, Texas, Randy and Cecilia Paul of Marble Falls, Texas, David and Judy Maupin of Muldrow, Lloyd and Karen Maupin of Muldrow, Charlotte and Glen Ellis of Roland, Jerry and Robin Maupin of Oklahoma, Jerry and Janice Jurden of Kingston, Okla., Michael Maupin of Richland Hills, Texas, Donna Maupin of Fort Worth, Texas. He is also survived by several cousins. He was loved by all and will be missed by all.
Family will visit with friends and family today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jesus Arroyo Sr., Rick Holman, Gerald Graham, Chuck Neal, Brent Yarbrough and Jarvis Chronister.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Junior Class of Van Buren High School.

Reba Whitsett
Reba Jean Whitsett, 76, of Van Buren died Monday, April 5, 2004, in a local hospital. She was a retired licensed practical nurse, having worked at New Haven Nursing Home, Sparks Hospital and for Dr. Darden, a member of Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church and the widow of Roy Whitsett.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by three sons, John Whitsett of Fort Smith and Riley and David Whitsett, both of Van Buren; two sisters, Irma Killian of Fresno, Calif., and Linda Reding of Greenwood; two brothers, Doyle Yancey of Fort Smith and Jerald Yancey of Van Buren; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Angel Batesta, Jerry Hawkins, Leon Lamb, Quincy O’Kelley, Vesta Wood, Stephen Staggs and Ronnie Blount.

Hattie Klonowski
Hattie T. Klonowski, 85, of Fort Smith, formerly of Toledo, Ohio, died Sunday, April 4, 2004, in a local hospital. She worked for Grace E. Smith and the Toledo Club. She was a voting booth official chair lady for 30 years, a member of Knight of Columbus Auxiliary and the LaGrange Street Senior Citizens, a lifetime member of St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Toledo and a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and the Leukemia Association. She was the widow of Joseph Klonowski.
Funeral services are under the direction of Gasiorowski Funeral Home in Toledo, Ohio.
She is survived by a daughter, Sharon-Ann Szgiel of Fort Smith; a brother, Sigmund Mieczkowski of Erie, Mich. and a twin brother, Tony Mieczkowski of Toledo; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

Alta Freeman
CLARKSVILLE — Alta Freeman, 91, of Clarksville died Monday, April 5, 2004, in Clarksville. She was born Nov. 15, 1912, in Rudy. She a member of East Mount Zion Trinity Baptist Church and the widow of Ray Freeman.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at East Mount Zion Trinity Baptist Church with burial at East Mount Zion cemetery in Clarksville under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville.
She is survived by a son, Tom Freeman of Round Rock, Texas; a sister, Betty Mielbrecht of Puyallup, Wash.; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Roy, Selby and Burley Shook, J.T. Collins, Doyle Jordan and Carl Curtis.

Cloyd Ripple
NORTH LITTLE ROCK — Cloyd Ray Ripple, 86, of North Little Rock, formerly of Hatfield, died Monday, April 5, 2004. He was born March 28, 1918, in Kerhonkson, N.Y. He served in the Army and was a farmer.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Six-Mile cemetery under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
He is survived by a sister, Charlotte Mathews of Hatfield.

Bill Christian
HEAVENER — Bill Christian, 81, of Heavener died Monday, April 5, 2004, in Heavener. He was a decorated Choctaw veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the American Legion and Disabled Veterans of America.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Dowden Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener with burial at Conser cemetery in Heavener.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda; a daughter, Sandra Legendre of Yelm, Wash.; a son, Paul Christian of Brookville, Ohio; a brother, Bob Cunningham of La Habra, Calif.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Patsy Brumley
MOUNTAINBURG — Patsy Ruth Brumley, 65, of Mountainburg died Monday, April 5, 2004, in a local hospital. She was born May 19, 1938, in Clarksville. She was a member of New Beginnings Pentecostal Church of God in Mountainburg and a retired employee of Simmons Plant Farm.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at New Beginnings Church of God with burial at Locke cemetery in Mountainburg under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
She is survived by her husband, Elvice; three daughters, Melinda Hoodenpyle of Fort Smith, Karen Lamproe of Rudy and Tammy Shepard of Mountainburg; four sons, Terry and Charles Brumley, both of Mountainburg, Gary Brumley of Kibler and Malcom Brumley of Benton; two sisters, Florence Chandler of Mulberry and Emma Mooney of Mississippi; a brother, Carl Edgar of Dyer; 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Terry, Gary, Malcom, Charles, Tim and Matthew Brumley Jr., Tony and Mark Shepard.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Walter Masterson
DEQUEEN — Walter G. “Bud” Masterson, 36, of DeQueen died Sunday, April 4, 2004, in DeQueen. He was a veteran of the Air Force, a DeQueen U.S. Postmaster and a member of DeQueen Assembly of God.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Chapel Pentecostal Church of God in Clarksville with burial at Knoxville cemetery in Knoxville under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; three sons, Nathan, Andrew and Josiah Masterson, all of DeQueen; his parents, James and Danna Masterson of Knoxville; two sisters, Lisa Graves of Dallas and Melissa Caldwell of Knoxville; a brother, Darrin Masterson of Clarksville; his grandparents, Wilma Taylor and James Taylor, and Esther Williams.
Pallbearers will be Daniel and Johnny Elam, David and Lee Manns, Jacky Lax and Julius Mayes.

John Ray
DOVER — John Howard Ray, 57, of Dover died Monday, April 5, 2004, in his home. He was a member of the Sanctuary Church of God.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Sanctuary Church of God in Russellville with burial at McFadden cemetery in Dover under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville.
He is survived by his wife, June; three sisters, Betty Woodard of Salina, Kan., Nina Hargis of Coffeeville, Kan., and Sue Block of Sand Springs, Okla.; and a brother, Tommy Ray of Locust Grove, Okla.
Pallbearers will be Sonny Haney, Leonard Elliot, Ronnie Tapp, Kenneth Boze, Ed Waldo and Mike Avery.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the church, laborers of Local No. 107, the Up & Over the Hill 4-Wheelers Club, and St. Mary’s nurses and oncology nurses.
The family will visit with friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Shinn Funeral Home in Russellville.

Jerry Black
Jerry D. Black, 61, of Fort Smith died Monday, April 5, 2004, in a local hospital. He was a barber and a Baptist. He was the widower of Jo Black.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Forest Park cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by three sons, David and Roy Black, both of Fort Smith, and Greg Black of Hartford; four sisters, Margie Carter of Spiro, Martha Bryant of Amarillo, Texas, Bobby Black of Andrews, Texas, and Pauline Dominey of Odessa, Texas; and one grandchild.
The family will visit with friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Bobby McCain
Bobby James McCain, 62, of Fort Smith died Monday, April 5, 2004, in Fayetteville. He was a concrete finisher and a Navy veteran of the Vietname War.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen; a daughter, Chanda Leakey of Van Buren; two stepdaughters, Cheryl Ford of Barling and Melanie Freeman of Sallisaw; two stepsons, Terry Gowers of Ozark and John Gowers of Coal Hill; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
