CROWELL, Texas — Odell Morrow, 79, of Crowell, Texas, formerly of Flippin, died Thursday, April 8, 2004, in his home. He was born June 23, 1924, in Purcell, Okla. He was a member of Cedarville Assembly of God, attended the Assembly of God in Crowell, Texas, served in the Navy, worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, was a mechanical equipment processor for the General Supply Division of the Sierra Army Depot, received a Certificate of Excellence from the federal government for superior performance and was employed by the Civil Service.
Funeral will be 4 p.m. today at Assembly of God in Crowell, Texas, with burial at Crowell cemetery under the direction of Womack-Manard Funeral Home of Crowell, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred; a daughter, Charlotte Jordan of Cedarville; two sons, Gary Morrow of Cedarville and Brian Morrow of Bagdad, Fla.; three stepdaughters, Denise Howland of Oklahoma City, Darlene Wright of Crowell, Texas, and Barbara Miller of Lubbock, Texas; 22 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Beulah Madewell
KEOTA — Beulah Mae Madewell, 84, of Keota died Friday, April 9, 2004, in Stigler. She worked for Okie Smith Manufacturing Co., was a health-care provider, a homemaker, a member of Centerpoint Baptist Church and the widow of Cecil Madewell.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Keota with burial at Old Cache cemetery in Keota under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Stigler.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Short of Keota; a son, Harold Madewell of Keota; a sister, Eula Medlock of Sand Springs, Okla.; a brother, John Bates of Keota; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Sam and Kelly Madewell, Gary Stoner, Jim Oliver, Kenny Short and Roger Weece.
The body may be viewed 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at funeral home in Stigler and 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at funeral home in Keota.
Destiny Williamson
CLARKSVILLE — Destiny Williamson, infant daughter of Boyd Williamson and Kathy Williamson of Clarksville, died Friday, April 9, 2004, in Clarksville.
Graveside service will be 4 p.m. Monday at Oark cemetery in Oark under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a sister, Tia Williamson of Clarksville; five brothers, Matthew Mayden, Kris Griffin and Koda Norrid, all of Clarksville, Andy Clark of Dover and Dylon Williamson; grandparents, Juanita Combs of Clarksville, Jim Campbell of Lamar and Bob Williamson of California.
Pallbearers will be Koda Norrid and Kris Griffin.

ALMA — Kenny Wicks, 69, of Alma died Thursday, April 8, 2004, in his home. He was born Dec. 1, 1934. He was a retired police academy weapons instructor for the University of Kansas, of the Baptist faith and a sheriff for eight years in Garden City, Kan., in Finney County.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith with burial Wednesday at Valley View cemetery in Garden City, Kan.
He is survived by his wife, Gwen; two sons, Wayne and Scott Wicks, both of Buena Park, Calif.; his mother, Jewell Chapman of Fort Smith; a sister, Kay Jones of Peidmont, S.C.; and three grandchildren.

NEW BLAINE — Teddy R. Wells, 67, of New Blaine died Friday, April 9, 2004, in Paris. He was a retired owner-operator of a print shop, a member of First Baptist Church in Delaware and a Mason.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Delaware with burial at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; four daughters, Brenda Carver of New Blaine, Connie King of Van Buren, Terrie Robison of Fayetteville and Tonya Newcomb of Fort Smith; a sister, Jeanie Hodges of Van Buren; a brother, Charles Wells of Van Buren; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Inez DeVito
Inez Shelby DeVito, 84, of Fort Smith died Friday, April 9, 2004, in Fort Smith. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fort Smith, the Uplifters Sunday school class and Pacesetters, president of the Pilot Club of Fort Smith and Fort Smith Pride, was involved in Fall Festival of Flowers, in December 2002 received Spirit of the Frontier, in July 1995 received the Mayors Good Neighbor Award, in December of 2001 and 2002 received the Mayors Appreciation Award and managed the Bonneville House.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Roebuck Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Nixon cemetery in Charleston under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Medlock of Ozark; five sisters, Gladys Henningson and Neta Byrd, both of Fort Smith, Frances Teufel of Milwaukee, Wis., Annette Moore of Greenwood, S.C., and Nadine Schramm of New York City; two brothers, Ralph Shelby of Little Rock and Harry Shelby of Charleston; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be David and Brent Byrd, Butch Henningson, Dr. Gene Shelby, Larry and Shelby Teufel.

WALDRON — Glenda Leora Bowers, 80, of Waldron died Friday, April 9, 2004, in a local nursing home. She was a homemaker and a Jehovah’s Witness.

She is survived by three sisters, Reatha Wilson of Waldron, Muriel Montgomery of Arizona and Royce Haguewood of North Carolina; three brothers, Alford Hughes of Oklahoma, Bob and Fred Hughes, both of California; two grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Maggie Dye, 27, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, April 7, 2004, in Tulsa. She was of the Pentecostal faith.

BOONEVILLE — Ruby Lee Heflin died Saturday, April 10, 2004, in Booneville.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Roberts Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Booneville with burial at Blue Mountain cemetery.
She is survived by a daughter, Velma Smith of Booneville; a sister, Juanita McDonald of Springdale; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

HODGEN — Katlynn Lavonn Pauline Minor, 12, of Hodgen died Saturday, April 10, 2004, in Howe. She was a sixth-grade student at Heavener Elementary School and a member of the Heavener First Baptist Church.

William Baker
ALMA — William H. Baker, 68, of Alma died Friday, April 2, 2004, in Casper, Wyo. He was born Aug. 15, 1935, in Winona, Miss. He was a truck driver for 30 years and a member of New Beginnings Pentecostal Church of God.
Memorial service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at New Beginnings Pentecostal Church of God under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home. The body will be cremated.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; five daughters, Pamala Lock of Alabama, Sharon Pixley of Mulberry, Vonda Baker of Fort Smith, Melinda Woodard of Kibler and Sharon Jenkins of Winslow; three sons, Mike Baker of South Carolina, Bobby Holliday of Winslow and Christopher Baker of Mulberry; two sisters, Barbara Chambers of Georgia and Sarah Sanders of South Carolina; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Hammett Sanders
PARIS — Hammett Wesley Sanders, 81, of Paris died Saturday, April 10, 2004, in his home. He was born May 22, 1922, in Magnolia. He was a self-employed wood worker, hauled pulp wood, pine logs and charcoal wood and was a Baptist. He was the widower of Mary Magline Sanders.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Garden of Memories cemetery in Charleston under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston.
He is survived by three daughters, Katie Heller of Burbank, Calif., Mary Collins of Morrilton and Brenda Berry of Paris; two sons, Stacey Swims of Cecil and Wesley Sanders of Lamar; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

WALDRON — Nellie Annie McConnell, 84, of Waldron died Saturday, April 10, 2004, in a Waldron nursing home. She was a homemaker, a member of Harmony Freewill Baptist Church and the widow of Hack McConnell.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Duncan cemetery in Waldron under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron.
She is survived by a daughter, Era Massongill of Waldron; a son, Clarence McConnell of Y City; two brothers, Zeb Playford of Oklahoma City and Charles Playford of Maryville, Tenn.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Richard Brigance, John Warren and Carlton, Brett, Heath and Freddy McConnell.

Ellis Duncan “Red” Price, 86, of Fort Smith died Sunday, April 11, 2004, in his home. He was a dry goods salesman, a Navy veteran of World War II and the 
Korean War. He was the widower of Sara J. Price.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Jewish cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by two daughters, Denise McHughes of Cedarville and Michele Myhand of Fort Smith; a son, Joel Price of Hackett; a brother, Norman Price of Delray Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Harold Watts, Mike McHughes, Garvin Myhand Jr., Bill Black, Ken Halsey, Jim Davis, Barry Gooch and Norman Price.

Utana “Louise” Gregory
Utana “Louise” Gregory, 83, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, entered Heaven’s gate on Easter morning, April 11, 2004. Born Dec. 14, 1920, in Fairview, Okla. She was retired from teaching school after 35 years. As her first-born, I can testify to the fact that she always put her children and grandchildren first. She, in turn, was the light of their lives. Her quiet dignity, love and compassion touched deeply all those who knew her. She didn’t preach the human dignity and rights of all peoples. She simply lived and treated others in such a manner that those rights were thus personified and she tired to always set an example for us to follow and look up to. She believed in the inherent goodness of all people.
Louise Gregory was born on Dec. 14, 1920, in a little community called Fairview, four miles east of Poteau. Mr. and Mrs. William B. Hale were her parents. She had two sisters and a brother, William B. Hale Jr., Lucille G. and Kathleen Hale. She attended the little Fairview School for eight years, then rode the school bus to high school in Poteau. She graduated in 1940. She attended Eastern State College in Wilburton, Okla., and Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Okla., where she graduated on July 26, 1945. She said, “Believe me, that was a very memorable and happy day in my life.” She was married
to Norman Gregory, a pharmacist, in 1946. After her husband’s death on March 4, 1992, she continued to live alone at their home in Poteau.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Poteau, the Poteau Flower & Garden Club, OEA and Retired Teachers and was a charter member of Alpha Delta Kappa National Honorary Teachers Sorority. She wrote an article called “Gettin’ it together in the state.” She had many, wonderful friends in Poteau. Mrs. Gregory taught at Midway, Pine Grove, Pleasant Valley, McClure, Shady Point, Pocola and Cameron. She was selected as LeFlore County Teacher of the Year in 1979. While teaching, she served as treasurer for 10 years for the LeFlore County Teachers. She lived a happy, profitable life.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Poteau with the Rev. Phil McGehee officiating. Burial will be at Monroe cemetery in Monroe under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy Miller and Renee and Dale Fout, all of Poteau; three grandchildren, Lisa Miller and Tiffany and Justin Fout; a brother, W.B. Hale; two sisters, Lucille Gregory and Kathleen Hale; a former son-in-law, Louis Miller of Tulsa; and other relatives and loved ones and many beloved friends.
Margaret Ann Adair
Margaret Ann Adair, 52, of Booneville passed away Saturday, April, 10, 2004, near Charleston. She was a teacher at the Booneville Human Development Center for more than 10 years. A lifelong member of the Lakeview Pentecostal Church in Booneville and a current member of the Regeneration Assembly of God in Fort Smith, and a member of the UAMS Parents Club.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Glendale cemetery near Booneville under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home of Booneville.
She is survived by two daughters, April and her husband, Tommy McLean of Fort Smith and Leslie and her husband, Michael Ward of Conway; two sisters, Judy Houston and Vickie Stark, both of Booneville; a brother, Billy Don Strickland of Booneville; two grandchildren, Ivy Nicole and Samuel Isaiah; many other close friends at the Booneville Human Development Center.
