Lee Wayne Sawyer, 55, of Fort Smith died Sunday, June 6, 2004, in St. Louis. He worked at Putman Lincoln and was a Navy veteran.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial at U.S. National cemetery of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Alexis; two daughters, Marsha Clark of Fort Smith and Sherry Roiter of Greenwood; five sons, David Sawyer of Greenwood, Donald Sawyer of Van Buren, Daniel Sawyer of Bonanza, Derek Sawyer and Kelly Malloy, both of Fort Smith; his father, Raymond Sawyer of Fort Smith; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Paula Gardner
ROLAND — Paula Dee Gardner, 57, of Roland died Tuesday, June 8, 2004, in Fort Smith. She was born Oct. 11, 1946, in Tulsa. She was a retired lab technician at Green Country Dental Ceramics and a member of First Baptist Church in Muldrow.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Muldrow with burial at Memorial Park cemetery in Tulsa under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow.
She is survived by her husband, William; two daughters, Julie Gardner of Oklahoma City and Ginger Gardner of Vancouver, Wash.; her mother, Peggy Watson; two sisters, Johnie Neely and Whitney Fowler, both of Catoosa, Okla; a brother, Curtis Martin of Tulsa; two stepsisters, Diane Pierce of Sallisaw and Sally Cohea of Edmond, Okla.
Pallbearers will be Mike Neely, Steve Fowler, Curtis Martin, Steve Van Winkle, Kenny Roberts, Bob Hughes and Monte Woods.
The body may be viewed 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Catherine Williams
Catherine K. Williams, 83, of Fort Smith died Monday, June 7, 2004, in her home. She was born Sept. 24, 1920, in Coatesville, Pa. She was a retired employee of Whirlpool and a member of Spradling Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Brown of Fort Smith and Kay Ramsey of Oklahoma City; three sons, John Yusko of Central City, John Williams Jr. of Lavaca and Gene Williams of Van Buren; two sisters, Mary Saber and Annie Gelamaw, both of Pennsylvania; two brothers, John and Harry Kalamon, both of Pennsylvania; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Andy and Jimmy Boston, Stephen and Joseph Williams, Jim Boston Jr. and Don Brown.
The family will visit with friends from 5 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ray Fitzgerald
LAVACA — Ray Allen “Bowie” Fitzgerald, 77, of Lavaca died Monday, June 7, 2004, in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 27, 1926, in Magazine. He was Baptist, worked for the City of Fort Smith Street Department for 20 years and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Lavaca with burial at Measles cemetery in Lavaca.
He is survived by his wife, Inell; three daughters, Rebecca Rudd and Debra Fitzgerald, both of Lavaca, and Lisa Becker of Barling; three sons, Thomas Fitzgerald of Tulsa, Michael Fitzgerald of Huntington and Danny Fitzgerald of Barling; a sister, Ester Page of Actworth, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Thomas, Michael, Danny, Ray and Christopher Fitzgerald, Stephen Becker and Jessie Rudd.
The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Patricia Ann Sevenstar
Patricia Ann Sevenstar of Fort Smith went to be with her beloved husband on Nov. 1, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was a former department manager for Harps Grocery on Grand Avenue in Fort Smith. She is survived by two daughters, Melanie Crow and Kimberly Ford, both of Fort Smith; a son, Michael Sevenstar of Alma; two sisters, Orphia Moreno and Brenda Sexton, both of Fort Smith; and two brothers, Ronnie Tuck of Fort Smith and Terry Tuck of Muldrow. She will be greatly missed by three grandsons, Erik and Kaden Sevenstar and T.J. Crow; and three granddaughters, Laycee, Mikalee and Shaylee Sevenstar. She will be remembered by a host of nieces and nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Retha Tuck; her husband, Leon Sevenstar; three brothers, Carl, Sonny and Jerry Tuck; and one sister, Ruby Thornburg.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in the Belfonte Baptist Church of Belfonte, Okla., with burial at Belfonte cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bill Chronister, David Tuck, Leslie Sexton, David Bowling, Roy Bowling, Steven Sevenstar, Bobby Sevenstar, Danny Sampley, Shawn Smith and Allen Taylor.

Phillip C. Sanders
Phillip C. Sanders, 55, of Shady Point died Sunday, Nov. 2. 2003, in Fort Smith. He was born in West Helena, Ark. He was a Vietnam veteran and a member of the National Guard Unit in Poteau for 11 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Leora Sanders.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. today at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by two brothers, Cecil Sanders of Spiro and Joseph of Shady Point; and also several nephews.
Pallbearers will be John Sanders, Ron Sanders, Tom Sanders, Chris Beal, Michael Sadler and Bruce Sadler.

Kathryn Elizabeth Apple
Kathryn Elizabeth Apple, 83, of Alma died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2003, in her home. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and a member of the EHC Club. She was a volunteer for the Crawford Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the Democrat Committee and the Heart Association.
Rosary will be 7 p.m. today at Ocker Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, at Gracelawn cemetery Arbor under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by a stepdaughter, Sandra Wiley of Wagoner, Okla.; three sons, Bill Keith and his wife, Gwen of Alma, Ward Keith and his wife, Mary of Alma and Bobby Keith and his wife, Sandi of Fort Smith; a stepson, Blain Davis and his wife, Anne of Wagoner, Okla.; a brother, Thomas Edgar Drake of Kansas City, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Michael Drake, Tony Maxwell, Christopher Keith, Patrick Releford, Ron Anderson and David Mondier.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Mulkey, Bobby Muchmore, Gregg Keith, Rick Keith and Todd Keith.
The family will visit with friends today after the Rosary at Ocker Funeral Home, 700 Jefferson in Van Buren.

Justin Chronister
Justin Chronister, 18, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, in Fort Smith. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fort Smith, was a senior at Southside High School, where he was in FBLA.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. today at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fort Smith with burial at Roselawn cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his parents, Karen and Robert Klek of Fort Smith; his father, Mark Chronister of Poteau; three brothers, Jared Chronister of Fayetteville, Matt Chronister of Fort Smith and William Klek of Fort Smith; maternal grandparents, Tom and Paula Scott of Fort Smith; and paternal grandparents, Mary and Eldred Chronister of Poteau.
Pallbearers will be Jared Chronister, Matt Chronister, Scott Whittenberg, Alan Edmondson, Kane Whitt and Tayler Lamon.

Margaret A. Gibbs
Margaret A. Gibbs, 70, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of Temple Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Gibbs; and a son, David Gibbs.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5 at Temple Baptist Church with burial at Old Jenny Lind cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and James Workman of Fort Smith; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and April Gibbs of Jay, Okla.; her mother, Avis Basham of Fort Smith; two sisters, Jean Basham and Marilyn Becraft, both of Fort Smith; a brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Sue Basham of Greenwood; aunts, Aileen Casey and Cora Clark, both of Fort Smith six grandchildren, Casey Seamans, Cannon Gibbs, Chloe Gibbs, Spencer Cox, Amber Gibbs and Terry Gibbs; four great-grandchildren, McKenna Gibbs, Seven Gibbs, Hasting Gibbs and Zaren Gibbs.
Pallbearers will be Randy Gibbs, Chris and Todd Basham, Bill and John Casey and Donnie Smith.

Helen Mae Stump
Helen Mae Stump, 74, of Muldrow died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was preceded in death by her father, Jeff McElyea; her mother, Bertha McElyea; three brothers, Floyd, Gene and Roy McElyea; two sisters, Virginia Reynolds and Charlene Matlock. Mrs. Stump had resided in the Muldrow area since 1947. She was an active member of Cottonwood Freewill Baptist Church for 45 years and retired from Riverside Furniture in 1992.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, at Cottonwood Freewill Baptist Church with burial at Cottonwood cemetery in Muldrow under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by her husband, Herman Stump of 58 years; two daughters, Pat Maddox of Willard, Utah, and Lililan Taylor of Fenton, Mich.; three daughters-in-law, Jeanne Stump, Judy Stump and Ginger Stump; two sons, Jack Stump of Granbury, Texas, and Jim Stump of Muldrow; two sons-in-law, Bruce Maddox and Richard Taylor; a sister, Polly Taft of Fort Smith; a brother, Harold McElyea and wife, Marie of Muldrow; a special niece, Christine Gushea; and loving and devoted friends, Wanda and Gene Ferrari; eight granddaughters; seven grandsons; 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Gary McElyea, Billy John McElyea, Randy Stump, Eric McElyea, Billy Oliver and D’Wayne Hatfield.
Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Cottonwood Freewill Baptist Church.

Margaret J. Crutchfield
Margaret J. Crutchfield, 81, of Van Buren died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, in a local hospital. She was a Pentecostal, a homemaker, a retired employee of Allen Canning Co. She was the widow of Wilburn Crutchfield.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gill cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Quick of Van Buren, Donna Flores of Checoteh, Okla. and Jane Summers of Van Buren; a sister, Lucy Simpson of Van Buren; a brother, Troy Dodson of Van Buren; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Randy Ruth, Chris Ruth, Marte Flores, Keith Shaw, Daniel Quick and Joaquin Viveros.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wilburn Summers, Donnie Quick, Donald Quick, William Brooks, Garland Simmons and Randy Williams.
The family will visit with friends after the service at the home of Debbie Ruth, 1513 Alma Blvd., Van Buren.

Ethel P. Ralston
Ethel P. Ralston, 92, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003, in her home. She was born Aug. 19, 1911, in Charleston. She was a homemaker, a member of Central Presbyterian Church and Eastern Star of Charleston and the widow of F. Willard Ralston.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. today at the Central Presbyterian Church Parlor with burial at Hickory Ridge cemetery east of Lavaca under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
She is survived by two sons, F.W. Ralston of Fort Smith and Leonard Ralston of Bethesda, Md.; four grandchildren, F.W. “Trey” Ralston of Fort Smith, L. Edward Ralston of Fort Smith, L. Mark Ralston of Woodbridge, Va., and Dr. Christine Eagleston of Charlottesville, Va.; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Ray Parker, Roy Lee Parker, Billy Dean Hamilton and Ed Ralston.

CLIPTON, Texas — Devin Dewayne Smith Lamb, 15, of Clipton, Texas, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003. He was born July 7, 1988.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Evans & Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Pocola.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Roxanne and Ron Hensley; his father, Jason Lamb of Panama; a sister, Chesley Hensley of the home; two brothers, Jason Lamb and Jessie Hensley of the home; his grandparents, Don and Judy Smith of Cameron, Mona Loman of Poteau, Ronnie and Grandma Lamb of Panama; his great-grandmother, Roberta Smith.

VIAN — Brianna Marie Phillips, infant daughter of Bobby and Lisa Phillips of Vian, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, in Sallisaw. She was born Aug. 27, 2003, in Oklahoma City.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Akins cemetery northeast of Sallisaw under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by four sisters, Brittany, Sara, Amanda and Maryann Phillips, all of the home; two brothers, Boyd and Bobby Jr., both of the home; her maternal grandparents, Lonnie and Mary Gardenhire of Sallisaw; paternal grandmother, Barbara Phillips of Oklahoma City; maternal great-grandmother, Shirley Gardenhire of Sallisaw; paternal great-grandmother, Pearl Pece of Oklahoma City.
