OARK — Charles Clifton Mason Jr., 62, of Oark died Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, in an area hospital. He was a laborer and a Baptist.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Oark cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville.
He is survived by his wife, Nora; a son, John Mason of Clarksville; a sister, Margaret England of Fort Smith; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Dwight, Alan, Jeffery, Jeremy and Keith Stepp and Glenn Stepp Sr.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Beulah Evans
WALDRON — Beulah May Evans, 79, of Waldron died Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, in a Waldron nursing home. She was a member of Lamb Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron with burial at Friendship cemetery in Waldron.
She is survived by two sons, Tom and Jim Evans, both of Waldron; two brothers, Audie Powell of Waldron and Grady Powell of Charleston; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie, Rick and Russell Powell, Audry Evans, Brad, Heath and Josh Evans and Richie Root.
The body may be viewed from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to noon Monday at the funeral home.

Marie Frazier
Marie E. Frazier, 88, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004, in Van Buren. She was a retired nurse for St. Edward Mercy Medical Center, where she worked for more than 26 years, and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was the widow of Raymond Frazier.
Rosary will be 6:30 p.m. Monday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial at Sacred Heart Catholic cemetery in Charleston.
She is survived by a brother, Paul Schriver of Van Buren.
The family will visit with friends from 7 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home following the rosary service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 22 N. 13th St., Fort Smith, AR 72902.

Carl Gardner
ALMA — Carl Ray Gardner, 84, of Alma died Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, in a local nursing home. He a Baptist, a retired truck driver and the widower of Lola Gardner.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Ocker Funeral Home Chapel in Alma. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Spring River cemetery in Verona, Mo.
He is survived by two daughters, Joyce Glover of Marionville, Mo., and Phyllis Wittenborn of Van Buren; a son, Carl Gardner of Alma; two brothers, Les Gardner of Klamath Falls, Ore., and Johnny Gardner of Louisville, Ky.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Harold Gatewood, Mike Glover, Dustin Leakey, Tom and David Wittenborn, Don Bloom and George Hudson Sr.

Mary Fant
Mary Ann Fant, 87, of Fort Smith died Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, in her home. She was born Jan. 20, 1917, in St. Mary’s, W.Va. She was a Baptist and a homemaker.
Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Forest Park cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by two daughters, Elaine Walker and Virginia Bruce, both of Fort Smith; two sons, William Fant of Fort Smith and Jack Fant of Springdale; a sister, Kathleen Allmon of Wellsville, Ohio; a brother, Robert Boley of Wellsville; 12 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Loys Vest
Loys Vest, 82, of Houston died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004. He was born in Branch, Arkansas, and graduated from Branch High School. He attended John Brown University before joining the Air Force in 1942, where he became a first lieutenant in World War II and flew over the India and China hump. He survived a plane crash and led his crew to safety. After the war, he became involved in a business career and eventually founded his own business, VESCO. He was a member of West University Baptist Church and was very involved in his church and civic organizations.
His parents, Robert Frank and Ida Vest, his brothers, Athel Vest and Alvin Vest, and his sister, Vernice Whittington preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sister, Violet Phillips; his six children, Ken Vest, Jeffra Lynn Horn, Robert Vest, Lane Phillips, Laura Abel and Matt Vest; and 13 grandchildren; Marty Vest, the mother of his children, also survives him. A graveside service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Forest Park cemetery followed by a memorial service at West University Baptist Church in Houston.

Joe Gabbard
PRINCETON, Texas — Joe H. Gabbard, 57, of Princeton, Texas, formerly of Stigler, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, in Paris, Texas.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Stigler with burial at Garland cemetery in Stigler.
He is survived by his wife, Pearly; a daughter, Angela Woodruff of Princeton, Texas; a sister, Jo Ann McGuire of Stigler; a brother, Sam Gabbard of Enterprise, Okla.; and four grandchildren.

Francis Hill
Francis “Frank” Hill, 84, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, in Fort Smith. He was a retired laborer and a member of Light House Baptist Church in Van Buren.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Gill cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
He is survived by three sisters, Dorothy Hill of Fort Smith, Rose Bauer of Pocola and Laura Hill of Greenwood.
The body may be viewed until noon today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Light House Baptist Church, 2811 Fayetteville Road, Van Buren, AR 72956.

John Branch
MORGANTOWN, Ga. — John Branch, 86, of Morgantown, Ga., died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004, in a local nursing home. He was born Jan. 30, 1918, in Sale City, Ga. He was a chemical engineer for Cities Service, a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Morgantown, Ga., the American Legion and the widower of Evelyn Branch.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in McCaysville, Ga., with burial at Jasper City cemetery in Jasper, Ga. Local arrangements are under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston.
He is survived by two daughters, Ann Earnest of Rockledge, Fla., and Betty Schroeder of Baton Rouge, La.; a son, John Branch of Charleston; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Jettie Tucker
RATCLIFF — Jettie Workman Tucker, 102, of Ratcliff died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, in Charleston. She was born Jan. 23, 1902, in Chismville. She was a retired schoolteacher, a member of Caulksville Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the Eastern Star.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Caulksville with burial at Caulksville City cemetery under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston.
She is survived by two stepsons, San Tucker of Wylie, Texas, and Kenneth Tucker of San Diego.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
The body may be viewed Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.

Terrye Oxford
Terrye Oxford, 55, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004, in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 17, 1948, in San Diego. She worked at Cooper Clinic and was of the Christian faith.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Roselawn cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Charles; two sons, Chris Oxford of Rudy and Jeremy Oxford of Fort Smith; and a sister, Jeri Condry of Fort Smith.
The body may be viewed 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 2 to 4 p.m.

Mary Bridgers
Mary Louise Bridgers, 83, formerly of Fort Smith died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, in Waynesville, N.C. She was born Oct. 23, 1920, in Westville, Okla. She was a homemaker, a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, the Builders Sunday school class, the J.O.Y. Group, a 1938 graduate of McAlester High School and the widow of Jasper Bridgers.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at St. Paul United Methodist Church with burial at Forest Park cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Leah Baker of Austin, Texas; a son, Ben Bridgers of Sylva, N.C.; two sisters, Viola Adams of McAlester, Okla., and Lela Pykiet of Harper, Kan.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Smith, Ken Pykiet, Steve Baker, Ray Burris and Scott Burton.
The body may be viewed 9 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 4100 Grand Ave., Fort Smith, AR 72904.

Edythe Stokes
BOONEVILLE — Edythe Mae Stokes, 80, of Booneville died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, in Booneville. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Booneville.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Booneville with burial at Cauthron cemetery in Booneville.
She is survived by her husband, Frank; three daughters, Nicola Allsop of Fenton, Mo., Angela Buscher of Desota, Mo., and Carol Zabrosky of Everett, Wash.; four sons, James Reker of Van Nuys, Calif., Marty Reker of Valley Village, Calif., David Reker of Cedar Hill, Mo., and Gary Stokes of Forest City, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Hiram Osborn
BOONEVILLE — Hiram Paul Osborn, 52, of Booneville died Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, in Booneville. He was a member of Pine Log Baptist Church in Booneville.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Pine Log Baptist Church with burial of cremains at Cauthron cemetery in Booneville under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Booneville.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn; three daughters, Norma Williams of California, Misty Scott of Booneville and Tonya Osborn of New Mexico; three sons, Amil Osborn of California, David Boyd and Sean Osborn, both of Booneville; his mother, Norma Duvall of California; a sister, Terry Stahlecker of California; a brother, Dean Osborn; and nine grandchildren.

Ila Bell Hunt
Ila Bell Hunt, 83, of Barling died Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, in Fort Smith. She was born July 5, 1921, in Scranton to Joseph Carroll and Josephine Elizabeth Huckaby Hunt. She was a homemaker, farmer and cafe owner. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Matilda Odell and Lacy McKeehan; and a brother, J.R. Hunt.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris with burial at Ware’s Chapel cemetery in Dublin.
She is survived by two daughters, Louise Snow and son-in-law Steven of Barling and Debra Robinson of Houma, La.; a son, Gary Davison of Ozark; two sisters, Iva Jean and Willene Wolfrey, both of Gordonsville, Va.; three brothers, Dalton Hunt of Carnesville, Ga., Faye Hunt of Louisa, Va., and Verlon Hunt of Scranton; four grandchildren, Kristy Dikeman, Jaclyn O’Brien and Michael and Dayton Robinson; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Steven and Mike Snow, Jim Reed and Dale Dikeman.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
