Fred Hickox
Y CITY — Fred Daniel Hickox, 70, of Y City died Monday, Sept. 6, 2004, in his home. He was retired from the Air Force and a member of the Living Word Church.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Chant Pentecostal Church of God with burial at Buffalo cemetery in Boles under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Debbie Williams of Farmerville, La., and Danene Abney of Gilmer, Texas; four stepdaughters, Leslie Bailey of Columbia, S.C., Susan Stover of Oakgrove, La., Teri Terry of Magazine, and Amy Schenk of Norfolk, Va.; two stepsons, Kevin Scott of Johnstown, N.Y., and Brian Scott of Lexington, S.C.; three sisters, Effie Griffin of Waycross, Ga., Inez Stokes of Holboken, Ga., and Myrtis Hickox of Aztec, N.M.; 20 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from 3 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Thursday at the funeral home.

James Moore
James Marvin Poss Moore, 82, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2004, in Barling. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, served during World War II in the Marine Corps, was a foreman for the Teamsters Union, and was the widower of Marjorie Moore.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at Fentress Mortuary Chapel with burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Hadley of Barling; two sons, John Moore of Albany, Ore., and Donald Moore of Tustin, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Frank Wright, Jim Hadley, Brian Rajala, Doug and Darrin Williamson, Codie Rajala, and Don and John Moore.
The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Gladys Best
HACKETT — Gladys Best, 79, of Hackett died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was a homemaker and the widow of Eugene Best.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Old Union cemetery in Hackett.
She is survived by three daughters, Betty Cunningham of Hackett, Sue Petrus of Carlisle and Mary Bradley of Pottsville; a son, Larry Best of Hackett; a sister, Lola Easterling of Fairbanks, Alaska; two brothers, Leslie and Walter Brock of Hackett; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 7 to 9 p.m.

Terry Graham
LAVACA — Terry Don Graham, 62, of Lavaca died Monday, Sept. 6, 2004, in Lavaca. He was born Dec. 1, 1941, in Lavaca. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Lavaca, served in the Navy and Air National Guard, and retired from Glidewell Construction.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Lavaca with burial at Lavaca City cemetery under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston.
He is survived by his wife, Sue; a daughter, Debbie Pierce of Lavaca; a sister, Sandra Green of Lavaca; and two brothers, Dean Graham of Lavaca and Wayland Graham of Sallisaw.
Pallbearers will be Bill Bell, Bailey Hutchins, Johnny Harris, Tim Cummings, Frankie Smithson and Dewayne Glidewell.
Honorary pallbearers will be his Sunday school class.
The family will visit with friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Kathryn Smith
MENA — Kathryn R. Smith, 59, of Mena died Thursday, Aug. 19, 1999, at her home. She was a homemaker and the owner of Acorn Collectables. She was a member of the Yocana Baptist Church.
Funeral was held at 10 a.m. Aug. 23, 1999, in the Hall Memorial Chapel with burial at Pinecrest Memorial Park under the direction of Hall Funeral Service of Mena.
She is survived by her husband, Joe D. Smith; one daughter, Kimberly Perry of Plainview, Texas; two sons, J.D. Smith of Plainview and Rodney Smith of Lockney, Texas; three sisters, Retha Chapman of Lubbock, Texas Rachael Summers of Marion, Ill. and Ruby McElroy of Tulia, Texas; one brother, Howard Huneycutt of Gainesville, Texas; and nine grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Howard, and Ernest Smith, Frank Harper, Bill McCalley, Don Hall and Mike Logan.

Robert Etzkorn
SUBIACO — Robert Joseph Etzkorn, 73, of Subiaco died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, in Subiaco. He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church of Subiaco, an Air Force veteran of World War II, Korean War and Vietnam and a stone Mason.
Rosary will be recited 7:45 p.m. today and Mass will be celebrated 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Benedict Catholic Church of Subiaco. Burial will be at St. Benedict cemetery in Subiaco under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores Furstenberg Etzkorn of Subiaco; and one brother, Richard of Subiaco.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Scholastica Monastery, 1301 S. Albert Pike Ave. Fort Smith, AR 72901.

Jess Hunter
Jess W. Hunter, 81, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, in Fort Smith. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a teacher at Ramsey Junior High School and retired as principal after 29 years of service in the Fort Smith Public School System.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Roebuck Chapel of First United Methodist Church with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Ernestine; two sons, Jerry W. Hunter and Galen Don Hunter, both of Fort Smith; two brothers, Bobby D. Hunter of Parumph, Nev. and Jerry B. Hunter of Van Buren; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Preston, John, and Justin Hunter, Victor Stewart, Cecil Geter and Audra Cowan.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gleaners Sunday School class of First United Methodist Church.

Sandra Thomas
GORE — Sandra Kay Cook Thomas, 55, of Gore died Friday, Aug. 20, 1999, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker and attended the Corner Stone Church of Gore.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Agent Funeral Home Chapel of Gore with burial at White cemetery of Gore.
She is survived by her husband, James (Buzz) Thomas; four daughters, Jamie Samon of Red Bluff, Calif., Tina Leal of Colorado Springs, Colo., Deanna Cruz of Gore and Dorrenda Thomas of Clovis, Calif.; five sons, John of Novato, Calif., Glendon of Fresno, Calif., Brian of Nipoma, Calif., Bill of Webbers Falls, Okla. and James Thomas Jr. of Gore; one sister, Mona Cook of Santa Maria, Calif.; two brothers, Troy Cook of Beebe and Ronnie Smith of Santa Maria, Calif.; and 23 grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home in Gore.

James Burcham
ALMA — James Grady Burcham, 83, of Alma died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, in a local hospital. He retired from General Motors after 27 years. He was a Baptist.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Ocker Funeral Home Chapel of Alma with burial at New cemetery of Mulberry.
He is survived by his wife, Tinnie; two daughters, Alta Wren of Alabama and Valma Belanger of Post Hote, Mich.; one son, Alvin J. Burcham of California; three sisters, Hazel Rafala of Indianapolis, Ind., Velma Colchin of Irving, Texas and Jettie White of Altus; three brothers, Seldon Nordin of Alma, Evert Nordin of Berryville and Theron Nordin of Houston; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Lonnie, Roger and Junior Burcham, Jim Moses, Dale and Allen Nordin.
The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Henry Howard
Henry Don Howard, 55, of Van Buren died Monday, Aug. 23, 1999, at his home. He was a Pentecostal.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel of Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda; four sons, Eric and Haley Johnson and David and Michael Fines, all of Van Buren; his mother, Gracie Howard of Van Buren; two sisters, Dorothy Mitchell of Haskell, Okla. and Jo Key of Van Buren; and one brother, Billy Howard of Greenwood.
The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Angela Daugherty
Angela Woodard Daugherty, 37, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, in Van Buren. She was a graduate of Westside High School in Coal Hill and an employee of Tyson Foods in Van Buren.
Cremation is under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville.
She is survived by one daughter, Tara Daugherty of Van Buren; one son, Ezekiel Woodard of Van Buren; her parents, Charles and Charlos Woodard of Clarksville; and one sister, Tiffany Woodard of Clarksville.

Fred Kasper
HARTMAN — Fred G. Kasper, 25, of Hartman died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, in a Little Rock hospital. He was a member of the Union Grove Baptist Church, a graduate of Westside High School in Coal Hill and an automobile mechanic.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Union Grove Baptist Church with burial at Union Grove cemetery in Clarksville under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville.
He is survived by his wife, Pam; one daughter, Kimberly; two sons, Nathan and John; his parents, Ray and Debbie Kasper of Hartman; his grandmothers, Beverly Cook of Hartman and Luella Kasper of Clarksville; one sister, Tanya; and two brothers, Chad and Matthew.
Pallbearers Travis and Nicholas Kasper, Gary Lust, Dwight and Wesley Warren and Keith Morrow.

Louise Hogue
HARTMAN — Louise “Peg” Hogue, 83, of Hartman died Saturday, Aug. 21, 1999, at her home. She was a member of AARP and a Baptist.
Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Broussard’s Funeral Chapel of Kountze, Texas with burial at Guedry cemetery in Batson, Texas. Local arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville.
She is survived by her husband, Charlie L. Hogue; and one sister, Faye Flowers of Saratoga, Texas.

Kenneth Reynolds
Kenneth Ray Reynolds, 46, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, in a local hospital. He was a flea market shopkeeper and a graduate of Northside High School. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Putman Funeral Home Chapel of Fort Smith with cremation under the direction of Putman Funeral Home.
He is survived by one daughter, Kimberly Sue Reynolds of Fort Smith; two sons, Kenneth Paul Reynolds of Fort Smith and Charles Reynolds of Little Rock; his mother and step-father, Randolph and Anita Walters of Fort Smith; two brothers, Ricky of Springdale and Danny of Fort Smith; and one grandchild, Tyler Reynolds of Fort Smith.

J. Clarence Chancellor
LOVELOCK, Nev. — J. Clarence Chancellor, 94, of Lovelock, formerly of Mulberry, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 1999, in a Nevada nursing home. He was a retired auto mechanic and the widower of Willie Ruth Chancellor.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at New cemetery in Mulberry with local arrangements under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren. Funeral was also held Aug. 21, 1999, in Lovelock.
He is survived by two sons, the Rev. Jack Chancellor of Lovelock and Don Chancellor of Tucson, Ariz.; one sister, Maggie Hoover of Indiana; one brother, Tommie of Amagosa, Nev.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Bettie Bell
Bettie Lou Bell, 79, of Fort Smith died Monday, Aug. 23, 1999, in a local hospital. She was a member of First Methodist Church, a homemaker and the widow of Marion Bell.
Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Yerton of Fort Smith and Sunny Bell of Boulder, Colo.; two sons, Rusty Bell of Boulder and Randy Bell of Boston, Mass.; one brother, Bryson McKee of Tucson, Ariz.; and eight grandchildren.
