Bobby C. Taylor
Bobby C. Taylor, 70, of Alma died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004, in local hospital. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church in Alma, a U.S. Air Force veteran, a 1951 graduate of Alma High School, a well-known Realtor in Crawford County area for many years, co-founder of Arkansas Land Agency and a member of Crawford County Board of Realtors. During recent years, he and his wife traveled extensively with computer services. At the time of his retirement, he was associated with American Equity Realty.
He was born Nov. 18, 1933, in Van Buren.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church, Alma, with burial at Evergreen cemetery in Alma under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ima Jean Taylor of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Darrel Russell of Little Rock; a son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Pat Taylor of Alma; two sisters, Wanda Belt of Alma and Sharon Wilson of Van Buren; a brother, Jackie Taylor of Alma; two sisters-in-law, Ruby Ball of Alma and Rosa Clark and her husband, Jim, of Barling; two grandchildren, Courtney Russell of Ozark and Hillary Russell of Fayetteville; two stepgrandchildren, Melissa Carpenter and Kenny Snow, both of Alma; and three stepgreat-grandchildren, Nathan Lopez, Danielle and Klye DeLozier, all of Alma.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Osborne, Wesley Warnock, Burl Sangster, Steve Whitlock, Darrell Hays, Pete Titsworth, Doug Bailey and Don Moak.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons and members of Adult 5 Sunday school class at First Baptist Church in Alma.

Archie Buell Hill
Archie Buell Hill, 93, of Parks passed away Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004, at his home. He was born March 17, 1911, at Blue Ball, the son of William Newton Hill and Mary Jane McLain Hill. Archie was a member of the Parks Baptist Church, where he taught an adult Sunday school class for 31 years. He retired in 1973 from the Waldron Public School System as a teacher and administrator with 30 years of service. Archie was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Ruby Allen, and his beloved wife, Mary.
Archie is survived by his son, Wallace and daughter-in-law, Bonnie, of Parks; his granddaughter, Jennifer Vickers and her husband, David, of Parks; his grandson, Damon of Fayetteville; one great-granddaughter, Brittary Vickers and one great-grandson, David Lee Vickers of Fort Smith. Other survivors include one niece, Barbara Allen of Waldron; one nephew, Donald Allen of Texarkana; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. today at Parks Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Yeoman officiating. Interment will follow at Parks cemetery under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron. Serving as pallbearers will be Don Frost, Billy John Franklin, John Laird, Danny Morran, Richard McLain and Donald Allen. Honorary pallbearers will be Alvin Papasan, John Trumble, Holland Piles, Howard Holleman, Harlon Hawkins and L.K. Robertson.

Nathan W. Holmes, 23, of Van Buren died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004, in Van Buren. He was a sergeant in the United States Army Reserves and was a light wheeled vehicle mechanic and also a member of Matthew 10 Deliverance Church in Kibler. Nathan loved hunting, golfing and the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Jamie of the home; his mother and stepfather, Beverly and Keith Matheny of Greenbrier; his father, Ron Holmes of Van Buren; two sisters, Dacia Holmes and Breanna Matheny, both of Greenbrier; one brother, Micah Matheny of Greenbrier; maternal grandparents, Dave and Adelene Bullard of Rogers; and a number of aunts and uncles.
Graveside service with military honors will be 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 30 at Dowell cemetery in Fayetteville under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Deborah Hughes
RUDY — Deborah Lynn Hughes, 48, of Rudy died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004, in a local hospital. She was an LPN for Home Heath.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Mount McCurry cemetery near Rudy.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas; a daughter, Angela Gasca of Rudy; a son, Randall Burkett of Rudy; her mother, Nancy Drummond of Rudy; two sisters, Laurie Hayes and Vickie Stayton of Fayetteville; two brothers, Brian Drummond of Fayetteville and Danny Drummond of Greenland; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Hughes, Andy McConahy, Justin Sangster, Brian and Danny Drummond and Butch Basham.

William Bromley
William T. “Dub” Bromley, 90, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004, in Fort Smith. He was the retired owner/operator of the Worldburger Drive-in of Fort Smith and the Jug Wheeler Drive-in of Fayetteville and a member of the Kibler United Methodist Church.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
He is survived by a daughter, Mary Cooper of Fort Smith; a son, William R. Bromley of Houston; a brother, Elwin Bromley of Detroit; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Hubbard, Bill Higgins, Lewis Reese, Jeff Gifford, Keenan Winters and Jay Jantzen.

Janice Bates
ELKINS — Janice Canfield Bates, 60, of Elkins died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004, in Fayetteville. She was born June 27, 1944, in Fayetteville. She attended McCord Pentecostal Church.
Funeral will be 10 .m. today at Mount Olive Community Church with burial at Mount Olive cemetery under the direction of Beard’s Funeral Chapel of Fayetteville.
She is survived by two daughters, DeAnn Brown of Springdale and Kristie Clem of West Fork; a son, Travis Grogan of Goshen; three brothers, Jim Canfield of Rogers, Joe Canfield of Elkins and Jerry Canfield of Fort Smith; and nine grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jerry, Joe and Jim Canfield, Scott Clem, Mike Samuels and Ronnie Hankins.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Janice Canfield Bates Fund at Arvest Bank.

Ruby Morgan
WALDRON — Ruby Nell Morgan, 86, of Waldron died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004, in Mena. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Moriah Church.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Mount Moriah Church with burial at Union Hill cemetery in Union Hill under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron.
She is survived by her husband, Elmo; a daughter, Mary Kenner of Waldron; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Richard Cagle, Tommy Hill, Tom McCord, Jack Sharvat, Colman Haga and Aldon Hughes.

Edyth Norman
Edyth E. Norman, 81, of Fort Smith died Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, in a local hospital. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Methodist Village Women’s Auxiliary, Women’s Cancer Support House, League of Women Voters and Pacesetter Group of First United Methodist Church.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Fentress Mortuary Chapel with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
She is survived by a daughter, Ann Ridener of Fort Smith; a son, Howard Norman of Fort Smith; a brother, J.R. Pruett of Odessa, Texas; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Josh and Zeke Norman, Jason and Adam Ridener and Brad Burton.
The family will receive friends after the service at 3709 Country Club in Fort Smith.

Frank Goebel
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Frank J. Goebel, 65, of Nashville, Tenn., died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004, in Nashville. He was retired from GE, a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Nashville, Tenn., a graduate of St. Anne’s Academy, St. Boniface Catholic School, the University of Arkansas and a member of GE Elfun Society.
Rosary will be 6 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Fentress Mortuary Chapel, with visitation after rosary service.
Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial at Calvary cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Roma; two sons, Paul Goebel of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Craig Goebel of Baltimore; parents, Fred and Melina Goebel of Fort Smith; two sisters, Mary and Lorena Goebel, both of Fort Smith; and two brothers, Fred Goebel Jr. of Fort Smith and Charles Goebel of Dallas.

Edna Klitz
BARLING — Edna Mae Klitz, 63, of Barling died Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, in Barling. She worked in medical records at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Barling.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Fentress Mortuary Chapel in Fort Smith with burial of ashes at a later date.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; a daughter, Kayla Elloso of Grafton, Mass.; a son, Rick Klitz of Fort Smith; a sister, Freida Musser of Moore, Okla.; three brothers, Donny Rainwater of Norman, Okla., Cecil Rainwater of Leflore and Jimmy Rainwater of Cresent, Okla.; and five grandchildren
The family will visit with friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Ruth F. Futral
Ruth F. Futral, 83, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church, and all-around sweet lady. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene W. Futral; and a daughter, Martha Grace. She is survived by three daughters, Sandra and husband Edward Thicksten of Alma, Sharon and husband Charles Gunzburg of Gaithersburg, Md., and Barbara and husband Jeffrey Tribby of Lakeland, Fla. Seven grandchildren, Anastasia May, Cpt. David Tribby, Michael Tribby, Elizabeth Tribby, Spec. Regina Powell, Chris Thicksten and Karl Gunzburg. One great-grandchild, Delaney Tribby.
Funeral service will be today at 1 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial at the U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Tom Ashwood, Rex Terry, Chris Thicksten, Michael Tribby, Tom Craft, Blake Montgomery and Charles Gunzburg.
Honorary pallbearers will be Norris Taylor, Carolyn Terry, Gracia King, Neil Tatum, Carol Boen, Mary Smith, Treva Leeper, Virginia Jones and her Sunday school class of First Baptist Church.

Karleen Howard
BARLING — Karleen Howard, 66, of Barling, formerly of Clarksville, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was born Jan. 29, 1938, in Kansas City, Kan.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Oakland cemetery in Clarksville.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmie; two daughters, Debbie Simpson of Clarksville and Katina Wadsworth of Barling; a son, Johnny Howard of Jamestown; a sister, Cindy Giles of Lamar; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Huey Simpson, Eric Brown, Lance Ralph, Joe Bieker, Carl Edwards and Steve Giles.
The family will visit with friends from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Daniel Murray
CLARKSVILLE — Daniel Dwayne Joseph Murray, 53, of Clarksville died Monday, Aug. 16, 2004. He was a construction worker and an Army veteran.
Private service to be held at a later time. Arrangements under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville.
He is survived by a daughter, Felicia Bruton of Lamar; a son, Richard Murray of California; parents, Dwayne and Barbara Murray of Clarksville; a sister, Michaela Ratledge of California; three brothers, Mark, Paul and Christopher Murray, all of California; and three grandchildren.

Carolyn Morgan
GREENWOOD — Carolyn M. Morgan, 53, of Greenwood died Monday, Aug. 16, 2004, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of Bonanza Church of Christ.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Bonanza Church of Christ with burial at Clarks Chapel cemetery in Greenwood under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry; a daughter, Clara Thomas of Fort Smith; two sons, Jason and Garrett Horne, both of Greenwood; her mother, Louise White of Fort Smith; two sisters, Sue Redelsperger of Follett, Texas, and Kay Turner of Fort Smith; and six grandchildren.
The body may be viewed 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
