Milton Minchew
Milton L. Minchew, 73, of Fort Smith died Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, in a local hospital. He was a retired real estate investor and developer of Minchew Properties, a member of Northside Church of Christ of Greenwood and the Fort Smith Chamber of Commerce, and a Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; a daughter, Sarah Taylor of Tulsa; a son, David Minchew of Frisco, Texas; three sisters, Hazel Box of Noblesville, Ind., Grace Oden of Longview, Texas, and Barbara Gibson of Star City; two brothers, Dee and Morris Minchew, both of Hallsville, Texas; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jim Barker, Pat McAfee, Sam Cooper, Olin Craig, Rudy Gramlich and Harold Beck.
The family will visit with friends from 5 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Kenneth Adams
Kenneth Scott Adams, 32, of Fort Smith died Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, in his home. He was a member of Haven Heights Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Roselawn cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his mother, Sara Lovette of Fort Smith; and two sisters, Debbie Springer of Van Buren and Cherie Sullivan of Hartselle, Ala.

Irene Dunn Daniel
Irene Dunn Daniel, 96, of Van Buren died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004, in a local nursing home. She was born March 7, 1908, was a member of Lee Creek Baptist Church and a homemaker. Preceded in death by her husbands, Connie Dunn and Danny Daniel; a son, Connie Dunn Jr.; and a sister, Virginia McGovern. She was loved by all who knew and cared for her.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at Oak cemetery Arbor with burial at Oak cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by a son, John Nathan Dunn and his wife, Karen, of Bentonville; two sisters, Bea Clegg of Van Buren and Iola Whitmer of Camden; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Jackson Hall Williams
Jackson Hall Williams, 22, of Fayetteville passed away Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, in Van Buren. He was valedictorian of the 1999 class of the Kemper military Academy, a member of First United Methodist Church of Fort Smith. He had attended University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
There will be a private family service at a later date.
He is survived by his parents, Fred and Shirley Williams of Van Buren and John and Betsy Bender of Austin, Texas; three sisters, Katie Cravens of Van Buren, Olivia Bender of Dallas and Elizabeth Williams of Van Buren; one brother, Bryce Bender of Austin, Texas; grandparents, Betty Williams of Van Buren and John and Elizabeth Yeoman of Hot Springs Village.
There will be a gathering of friends and family from 4 to 6 p.m. today at First United Methodist in the Narthex.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 200 N. 15th St., Fort Smith, AR 72901.

Lillian Robertson Harris
Lillian Robertson Harris, 73, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of Grace Community Church in Fort Smith. She was a member of the Fianna Hills Ladies Golf Association and the Welcome Neighbor. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Don Robertson; parents, William and Alma Ockerman; two brothers, Jimmie and Clint Ockerman.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Grace Community Church in Fort Smith with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Norman Harris; two daughters, Cathy McNeal and husband, David, of Nimrod and Debra Girlinghouse-Newman and husband, Tom, of Fort Smith; a son, Wes Robertson and wife, Pamela, of Fort Smith; seven grandchildren, Bryan and Mitzi Sutton, Adam, Philip and Kristen Robertson, Paige and Claire Girlinghouse, all of Fort Smith; two stepgrandchildren, Dr. Shannon Turner and Steven McNeal; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mike Hanna, Darrell Carter, Jim Gerlach, John Hagen, Jim Hayes and Wayne Donelson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Cameron, Otto Hambright, Jim Jacobi, Ron Glenn, Carl Bracken, James Robertson and David Smith.

David P. Noel
The Rev. David P. Noel was born Nov. 22, 1933, in Middleton, Pa., died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004, in Alma. He was a minister with the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church for 20 years in New York state. He was honorably retired from the Presbyterian Church after 19 years of ministry in Arkansas and Oklahoma. He was a 1958 graduate of Nyack College in Nyack, N.Y., with a bachelor’s degree in Christian education and a master’s of divinity in theology from Gordon Conwell Seminary in Hamilton, Mass.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary of the home; one daughter, Becky Burns of Fort Smith; two sons, Steven Noel of Richmond, Va., and David Noel of Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Doris Tubbs of Pennsylvania; three brothers, Fred Noel Jr. and Donnie Noel, both of Pennsylvania, and Edgar Noel of Minnesota; and five grandchildren,
The Rev. Noel will be cremated under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren with a family held memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12 at the First Presbyterian Church in Van Buren.

Christal Conaway
LITTLE ROCK — Christal Charis Conaway, 30, of Little Rock died Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, in her home. She was a surgical technician and served in the Navy.
Funeral will be 4 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Clarksville with burial at Madden cemetery in Lamar under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville.
She is survived by a companion, Kevin Meyers of Little Rock; a son, Austin Conaway of Little Rock; her parents, Steve Conaway and Janis Zachary, both of Lamar; a sister, Shawna Conaway of Lamar; and a brother, David Conaway of Lamar.
Pallbearers will be David Conaway, Kevin Meyers, Linnis Madden, Joe Bolduc, Rob Pelts and Fred Parker.

Nguyen Nguyen
Nguyen K. Nguyen, 61, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004, in Fort Smith. He was born Feb. 5, 1943, in Vietnam. He was retired from Simmons Food.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Tam; and a son, Dung Ngo of Fort Smith.

Adetona Lipede
Adetona Oluyomade “Prince” Lipede, 64, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004, in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 3, 1940, in Lagos, Nigeria. He was a retired employee of St. Edward Mercy Medical Center, a member of St. Bartholomew’s, where he was a choir member, held a master’s degree from Webster College in business administration, a pharmacist degree from the University of Mississippi, and was a member of Omega Fraternity.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Bartholomew’s in Fort Smith with burial at Roselawn cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Patience; two daughters, Aderonke and Adebisi Lipede, both of Boston; a sister, Badejoko Lipede of Lagos, Nigeria; and a brother, Dr. Adelu Lipede of St. Louis.
Pallbearers will be Bob Heinrichs, Delfin Linson, Andrew Herrick, Lekan Araba-Owoyele, Rocky Wicker, Mike Gusdors, Jimmy O’Quinn and Bode Owoyele.

BONANZA — Freddie Wayne Hatfield, 68, of Bonanza died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004, in his home. He was a retired butcher, retired from Rheem Manufacturing Co., a Baptist and a member of United Steelworkers of America Local No. 7893.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Mount View cemetery in Hackett.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; five daughters, Beth Stanley of North Richland Hills, Texas, Cindy Owens of Mustang, Okla., Barbara Carter of Conway, Deanna Lombardo of Boca Raton, Fla., and Tonya Stover of Bonanza; four sons, L.A. Pittman of Hot Springs, Jeffery Pittman and Charles Weathers, both of Bonanza, and Carl Pittman of Fort Smith; three sisters, Maggie Thomas of Palestine, Texas, Tessie Bourteois of Louisiana and Dorothy Harris of Jacksonville, Texas; two brothers, Willie Hatfield of Palestine, Texas and J.C. Hatfield of Tennessee; 28 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be L.A., Jeffery and Carl Pittman, Charles Weathers, Jerry Stanley, David Lombardo, David Stouffer and Brian Carter.

WALDRON — Paul Edward Carter, 50, of Waldron died Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, in Waldron. He was a construction worker and of the Church of Christ faith.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Cedar Creek Church with burial at Parks cemetery in Nola under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; a daughter, Samantha Carter of Mena; two sons, Matthew Carter of Gilliam and Paul Carter Jr. of Horatio; two stepdaughters, Crystal Slater and Elizabeth Frazier, both of Waldron; two stepsons, Neil Frazier Jr. and Nelson Frazier, both of Waldron; his parents, Charlie and Winnie Carter of Parks; a sister, Brenda Matheson of Danville; a brother, John Carter of Parks; and four grandchildren.

Noah Kelly
Noah Allen Kelly, infant son of Shayleene Atwell of Van Buren and David Kelly of Van Buren, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004, in a Little Rock hospital.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Fairview cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Dylan Atwell of Rudy; maternal grandparents, Tammy Jacks of Sherwood, Ohio, Jeff Christian and Paula Christian, both of Bullhead City, Ariz.; paternal grandmother, Edith Kelly of Fort Smith; and maternal great-great-grandmother, Bernice Chewning of Cedarville.

Mildred Dixon
CHARLESTON — Mildred Dixon, 77, of Charleston died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004, in Van Buren. She was born Aug. 21, 1927, in Judsonia. She was a seamstress.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with burial at Houston cemetery in Alix.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathey Rovnak of Fort Smith; two sisters, Verlene Sharp of Charleston and Dorothy Neissl of Fort Smith; two brothers, Jerry Sanford of Ozark and Eugene Sanford of Florida; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Reba Smith
CLARKSVILLE — Reba Jewell Smith, 80, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, in Morrilton. She was a nursing home administrator and attended New Life Christian Center.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at McDonald Family cemetery in West Fork under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville.
She is survived by a son, Dr. Jack Glaze of Clarksville; a sister, Wilma Rahmeyer of Whittier, Calif.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Leila Bounds
Leila Bounds, 97, of Fort Smith passed away Friday. Oct. 8, 2004, in Fort Smith. She was a charter member of Southside Baptist Church and taught the Adult Women Sunday School Class, and was a member of RSVP, a retired school teacher for Fairview Elementary School, a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Teachers Sorority, a life member of PTA and the widow of Floyd C. Bounds. She was preceded in death by her son, Tommy Bounds; her sisters, Aletha West and Geneva Lowman; and her brothers, Jack and George West.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Roselawn cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Baring and husband Ray of Irving, Texas, and Sandra Krueger and husband Bill of Atlanta; a sister, Margaret Fletcher of Dublin, Texas; grandchildren Rayanne Gustlin of Campbell, Calif., Bruce Baring of Atlanta, Bill K. Krueger of Raleigh, N.C., and Terri Branch of Atlanta; and eight great-grandchildren.
