George Ralls
George Terry Ralls of Fort Smith died Friday, Oct. 15, 2004, in Fort Smith. He retired from J.C. Penney Co. and later owned the Ready to Finish Furniture Store in Fort Smith. He volunteered with the Clearing House Program of Fort Smith, and was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Fort Smith.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. today at Fentress Mortuary Chapel in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Marini Shull of San Antonio; a son, Steve Ralls of Fort Smith; two brothers, Ross Payne of Fort Smith and Ken Payne of Oklahoma City; and one grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 322 N. Greenwood Ave., Fort Smith, AR 72901.

Della Harvey
CLARKSVILLE — Della Park Harvey, 81, of Clarksville died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004, in an area hospital. She was born Oct. 5, 1923, in Fort Douglas. She was a member of Trinity Chapel Church.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Chapel Church with burial at Shady Grove cemetery in Clarksville under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville.
She is survived by her husband, John; three sons, Jim Harvey of Clarksville, Gary Harvey of Spring Hill, Kan., and Randy Harvey of Tulsa; a brother, Loy Park of Clarksville; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.. today at the funeral home.

Ernest Creel
Ernest Creel, 42, of Van Buren died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004, in Fort Smith. He was a Baptist.
The body will be cremated. No service is planned.
He is survive by his wife, Lindy; two daughters, Paulette and Shandoria Creel, both of Van Buren; a son, Elvis Creel of Van Buren; a sister; and a brother.

Geneva Hardgrave
CLARKSVILLE — Geneva Ritchie Hardgrave, 90, of Clarksville died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004, in a Little Rock nursing home. She was born Sept. 3, 1914, in Pettigrew. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and formerly was employed at IGA Grocery in Clarksville for 16 years. She was the widow of Otis Hardgrave.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Oakland cemetery in Clarksville.
She is survived by a daughter, Reba Rose of Little Rock; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Larry, David and Darren Rose, Dr. Wade Robertson, Michael Kennedy and Adam Rose.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Jacob Maden
Jacob Matthew Maden, infant son of Jacob Maden and Ashley Shaw of Van Buren, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004, in a Fort Smith hospital.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Macedonia cemetery in Pocola under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Pocola.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his paternal grandparents, Anthony Maden of Pocola and Barbara Matlock of Van Buren; maternal grandmother, Diane Shaw of Spiro; and numerous great-grandparents.

Barbara Rogers
OZARK — Barbara Gail Rogers, 56, of Ozark died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004, in Ozark. She was a Baptist and a homemaker.
Private family service and burial at Westview cemetery in Ozark will be under the direction of Affordable Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Lacey Helmert of Ozark; two sons, Johnny Helmert of Ozark and Eddie Helmert of Mount Home; her mother, Lois Casey of Ozark; two sisters, Sue King and Sharon Roe, both of Ozark; three brothers, Doug Dodd of Russellville and Dwight and Dwayne Durning, both of Ozark; and 11 grandchildren.

Adam Boggs
WALDRON — Adam Boggs, 18, of Waldron died Friday, Oct. 15, 2004, near Heavener. He was a student.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004, at Lamb Church with burial at Lamb cemetery in Waldron under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Sheila and Mark Nix of Waldron; his father and stepmother, Jarred and Monica Boggs of Texas; grandparents, Robert Zimmer, Robbie Wright, Thomas Wright, Cathy Zimmer, Glen and Louise Boggs, Roger and LaDonna Nix and Joann and Jerry Williams; great-grandparents, Willard and Edna Slater; a sister, Andrea Boggs of Waldron; a half sister, Rebecca Boggs of Texas; and a stepbrother, Kevin Boggs of Texas.
The body may be viewed from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Wilma L. Allen, 74, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker and was of the Church of Christ faith.
She is survived by three daughters, Ima Farrar and Diane Bolinger, both of Van Buren, and Brenda Cook of Fort Smith; two sisters, Faye Reather and her husband Bill of Roland, and Rhonda Parsons of Fort Smith; a brother, Dan Elkins and his wife Barbara of Roland; nine grandchildren, Michele Burnham, Joe E. Bolinger II, Chris Stroud, Tina Mote, Kenya Woolsey, Ronnette Robbins, Reena Estes, Carrie Jamison and James Milliron; 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Allen.
Service will be graveside at Forest Park cemetery on Wednesday at 10 a.m. under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.

Jessie McMillan
GREENWOOD — Jessie McMillan, 78, of Greenwood died Monday, May 27, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Grove cemetery of Big Fork under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Evelyn Reeder of Greenwood; three sons, Alan McMillan of Austin, Harold McMillan of Fort Smith and Dennis McMillan of Shelby, N.C.; one sister, Bonnie Elton of Hamburg; three brothers, Warren Barnett of West Port, Calif., Raymond Barnett of Big Fork and Roy Barnett of Bentonville; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Nadine Dean
BARLING — Nadine Dean, 66, of Barling died Sunday, May 25, 2003, in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 13, 1937, in Ozark and was a retired nurse for Sparks Regional Medical Center.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Lewis Funeral Chapel with burial at Caulksville cemetery in Caulksville under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
She is survived by three daughters, Susan Brasuell and Celia Teague, both of Fort Smith, and Stephanie Golka of Omaha, Neb.; a son, Will Dean Jr. of Barling; two sisters, Tressie Cook of Alma and Rosetta Stevens of Carnation, Wash.; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be David Green, David Contreras, Jamie Sebren, Roy Golka, Will Dean Sr. and Kenny Dobing.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Wilma Chaney
Wilma Burt Chaney, 98, of Fort Smith, formerly of Springdale, died Monday, May 26, 2003, in Fort Smith hospital. She was born Jan. 12, 1905, in Gibbon, Neb. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Fayetteville and First Baptist Church in Springdale. She was active with the Welcome Wagon Club, the chief clerk in the home economics department at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville for many years and the secretary at Asbell School in Fayetteville. She was the widow of Carrol Dwight Chaney.
Graveside service will be 3 p.m. Friday at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville under the direction of Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale.
She is survived by four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends today at the funeral home.

Shirley Daily
OLIVER SPRINGS — Shirley Daily, 67, of Oliver Springs community died Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at a local hospital. She was born March 4, 1936, in Ponca City, Okla., and was a resident of Crawford County for 31 years. She was a retired member of the general office of the Farmers Co-op of Fort Smith and Van Buren and a member of First Church of the Nazarene of Fort Smith.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
She is survived by her husband, Harold; two sons, Monte of Coppel, Texas, and Randy of Poteau; two sisters, Mary Robinson of San Antonio, and Florence Lyles of Hiland Village, Texas; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jim Barnard, Bill Jones, Ronnie Miller, Leo Boozman, Gene Hamm and Scott Price.
Memorial contributions may be made to: Building Fund, First Church of the Nazarene, 4813 N. O St., Fort Smith, AR 72904.

Carol Higginbottom
Carol Ann Higginbottom, 61, of Benton died Tuesday, May 27, 2003, in Benton. She was born Feb. 19, 1942.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. today in the Chapel at Arkansas Health Center in Benton.
She is survived by a sister, Nancy Price of Texarkana, Texas, and a brother A.J. Higginbottom of Murfreesboro.

Effie Cross
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Effie Wilkey Brown Cross, 101, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., formerly of Mountainburg, died Saturday, May 24, 2003, in Murfreesboro. She was a charter member of the Rogers Christian Church and attended Denison High School in Denison, Kan., where she also taught school in a one-room schoolhouse. She was the widow of Steven H. Brown and Vern Cross.
Funeral was Wednesday at Mountainburg Presbyterian Church. Burial will be at a later time at Shawnee Center cemetery in Wakarusa, Kan., under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
She is survived by four daughters, Jean Brown Simmons of Mountainburg, Elaine Brown Glover of Murfreesboro, Lois Brown Shewski of Louden, Tenn., and Fern Brown Bartruff of Las Vegas; 14 grandchildren and 13 grandchildren.

Melville Sprouse
Melville W. “Jack” Sprouse, 83, of Fort Smith died Sunday, May 25, 2003, in his home. He was the owner of Acme Upholstering company upon retiring in 1988, an Army veteran of World War II, a member and deacon at Calvary Baptist Church and a member of Gideons International.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Mattie; a daughter, Martha Whitaker of Fort Smith; three brothers, Fred and Gene Sprouse, both of Springdale, and Montie Sprouse of Bixby, Okla.; two grandsons and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be nephews, David and Mack McKinley, Mark and Doug Sprouse and Luther and Wendall Stem.
Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Calvary Baptist Church.

Eleuterio Cantu
Eleuterio Cantu, 57, of Fort Smith died Sunday May 25, 2003, in Fort Smith. He was a property manager for ERC Properties and served in the Army.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. today at the National cemetery under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by a daughter, Emily Cantu of Fort Smith, and a sister, Elisa Degraffenreid of Wilkes Barre, Pa.

Gene Basham
CLARKSVILLE — Gene A. Basham, 83, of Clarksville died Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at an area hospital. He was born April 5, 1920, in Van Buren. He was a graduate of Clarksville High School and attended the College of the Ozarks. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a custodian for the church for 28 years before he retired.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church with burial at Oakland cemetery in Clarksville under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville.
He is survived by a brother, Dr. Robert H. Basham of Clarksville.
