RATCLIFF — Bill Brannon, 64, of Ratcliff died Friday, Sept. 10, 1999, in Fort Smith. He was a retired self-employed plumber and pipefitter.
The body was cremated under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; four daughters, Terri Coons of Houston, Texas, Renee Johns of Chandler, Texas, Lisa Hall of Dudley, N.C., and Jeanine Noblin of Leander, Texas; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Adolph Schonaerts
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz — Adolph Phillip Schonaerts, 80, of Scottsdale, Ariz., formerly of Fort Smith died Friday, Sept. 10, 1999. He was the owner/operator of Firestone Tires-Phoenix and a U.S. Air Force cadet.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Theresa Catholic Church with burial at St. Francis cemetery under the direction of Whitney & Murphy Arcadia Funeral Home of Phoenix.
He is survived by one daughter, Jane O’Hara; two sons, Phillip and James; and eight grandchildren.

Walter Cain
Walter S. Cain, 76, of Fort Smith died Friday, Sept. 10, 1999 in a local hospital. He was a retired assistant supervisor with Baldor, attended Victory Temple Penecostal Church in Roland and was a member of the Furniture Workers Union.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Ocker Memorial Chapel with burial at Gill cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Nova Mae; one son, John of Fort Smith; one sister, Nita Gorman of Fort Smith; one brother, Donald of Natchez, Miss.; and two grandchildren, Tammy Cain of Fort Smith and Christina White of Roland; and two great-grandchildren, Donnie and Andrew White of Roland.
Pallbearers will be Shannon Pruitt, Eric Wiley, Travis Johnson, Matthew Sugg, Anthony Gorman and Douglas Gorman.

Thelma Getty
ST. JOHN, Kan. — Thelma P. Getty, 93, of St. John, Kan., died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1999 at Hearthstone Nursing Home in St. John, Kan. She was a dental hygenist, a civil servant, a member of the Presbyterian Church in Fort Smith, Retired Federal Employees Member and a resident of St. Johns for 9 months after coming from Fort Smith.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999 at Minnis Chapel, Inc. in St. John, Kan., with burial at Fairview Park cemetery in St. John, Kan.
She is survived by two nieces; one nephew; five great-nieces; and five great-nephews.

Anson Bartlett
DALLAS — Anson Bartlett, 24 of Dallas, formerly of Van Buren died Friday, Sept. 10, 1999 in Spiro. He was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church of Fort Smith and an apprentice electrician with Darden Electric in Dallas.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Van Buren with burial at Evergreen cemetery in Alma under the direction of Edwards Van Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Anne and Mark Spellman of Alma; his father, Gary Bartlett of Hillsboro, N.C.; his maternal grandmother, Wilma Hays of Van Buren; his paternal grandmother, Ruby Bartlett of Greensboro, N.C.; his paternal stepgrandparents, Eleanor and William Spellman of Louisville, Kent.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Elliot Hays, Tommy Hays, Alvy Hays, Darrell Hays, Wally Hays, Dr. J.B. Hays, Blake Hays and Justin Thomas.
The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial Contributions may be made to First Baptist Church in Van Buren.

Clarence Pelts
LAMAR — Clarence Richards Pelts, 73, of Lamar died Friday, Sept. 10, 1999, at his home. He was a Navy veteran and member of the Assembly of God faith.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Minnow Creek cemetery in Lamar.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Butler Pelts; two daughters, Shela Cotton of Clarksville and Cheryl Heath of Oklahoma; five sons, John of Subiaco, Rickey of Clarksville, Mark and Randy, both of Knoxville and Chad of Lamar; two sisters, Dovie Tuck of Hunt and Lucy Apodoca of Cheyenne, Wyo.; three brothers, Arlis and Robert, both of Hunt, and Melvin of Colorado; and 10 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Vernon Heath, and John, Rick, Randy, Mark and Chad Pelts.

George Bowen
SEARCY — George Dewey Bowen, 80, of Searcy died Thursday, Sept. 9, 1999, in Searcy.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Liberty Hill cemetery in Hunt with burial under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
He is survived by three sisters, Jewell Lacey of Las Vegas, Rose Thompson of Reedley, Calif., and Odell Lawson of Burns, Ore.; and five brothers, John W. of Vilonia, Myron of Klamath Falls, Ore., Jay R. of Fayetteville, Charles Edwin of Wichita, Kan., and James Hoyt of Ozark.

Beulah McClary
CHARLESTON — Beulah McClary, 91, of Charleston died Friday, Sept. 10, 1999, in Charleston. She was a homemaker.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with burial at Mt. View cemetery in Ozark.
She is survived by two sisters, Juanita Thompson of Ozark and Sula Landgribe of Kerrville, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

Faye Wagnon
Faye Agnes Wagnon, 91, of Van Buren died Thursday, Sept. 9, 1999, in a local hospital. A homemaker, she was a former member of the Zion Baptist Church at Bond Special and a former member of the Bond Special H.D. Club. The widow of Melvin E. Wagnon, she was a member of the South Lakewood Baptist Church in Tulsa.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren.
She is survived by three daughters, Nadine Burgett and Betty Wing, both of Van Buren, and Charlene Henry of Tulsa; two sons, Vinson H. and Dale Wagnon, both of Van Buren; one sister, Renna Santacrouce of Van Buren; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Harlen, Curtis and Jimmie Wagnon, Kenneth James, Vilus Peevy and Lawrence Clark.
The family will visit with friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 4131 Zion Road, Van Buren, AR 72956.

Mildred Brown
Mildred Intres Brown, 77, of Fort Smith died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, in a local hospital. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, retired from the American Can Company, worked for the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank, was a member of the Clara B. Eno Chapter of Questers International, the Robert Jack V.F.W. Post #1322 Ladies Auxilliary where she was a past president and the TOPS Club. She was the widow of James D. Brown.
Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith. Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. today at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial at the National cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by one daughter, Janet Dorsey of Fort Smith and Maria Sullivan of Van Buren; one son, James D. Brown of Fort Smith; one sister, Mary Campbell of Van Buren; one brother, Billy Intres of Van Buren; three grandchildren; Lisa Lewis of Shreveport, La., Tina Phillips of Fort Smith and Scott Sullivan of Van Buren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Wally Hays, Frank Mendoza, Weldon Ramey, Bill Rogers, John Cobb, Burl Maxey, Burch Collins, Andy Lovett and Phil Boren.
The family visited with friends Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Albert Remler
Albert A. Remler, 82, of Van Buren died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, in a local nursing home. He was a retired furniture repairman for Montgomery Ward in Amarillo, Texas, a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Van Buren.
Graveside service will be 9:30 a.m. today at the U.S. National cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; one daughter, Carolyn Wilkinson of Van Buren; two sons, Richard Remler of Alma and Charles Remler of Van Buren; one sister, Dot Frasier of Van Buren; one brother, Scottie Remler of Fort Smith; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Donna Emmert
Donna Jean Emmert, 43, of Van Buren died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, in a local hospital. She was a member of the Cedarville Assembly of God, employed at Dixie Cup Company and was on the Rheem softball league and Dixie Cup bowling league.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Cedarville Assembly of God with burial at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald; her parents, Charles Crossno of Long and Florance Crossno of Roland; four sisters, Susan Martin of Spiro, Betty Beazier of Panama, Martha Kilfoyle of Van Buren and Doris Crossno of Roland; and three brothers, Sammy, Tommy and Robert Jeffries, all of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Jack and Mike Emmert, Robert Miller, Alan Denton, Darryl Blunt and Mike Poor.
The family will visit with friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Luther Hodge
CLARKSVILLE — Luther E. “Creepy” Hodge, 74, of Clarksville died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, in Johnson Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Clarksville Church of Christ, formerly preached at Coal Hill, Hagarville and Clarksville, was a retired pharmacist, graduated from the College of the Ozarks in 1951 with a Doctor of Pharmacy??? Degree and was past President of the State Board of Pharmacists.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Clarksville Church of Christ with burial at Oakland cemetery in Clarksville under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville.
He is survived by his wife, Aimee Morgan Hodge; two sons, Mark of Hagarville and Craig of Clarksville; three foster daughters, Dora Faye Fryer of Atkins, Barbara Phillips of Springfield and Joanne Cook of Little Rock; one brother, Jack Hodge of El Dorado; six grandchildren, four foster grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Landon Burrows
HAVANA — Landon Doodle Burrows, of Havana died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at Sparks Regional Medical Center. He was retired.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Havana First Baptist Church with burial at Havana cemetery under the direction of Cornwell Funeral Home of Danville.
He is survived by his wife, Maelea; one son, Lynn Weasel Burrows of Havana; three sisters, Sue Taylor of Tulsa and Sharon Underwood and Janetta Adair, both of Havana; two brothers, Bill Burrows of Fort Smith and Rickie Burrows of Charleston; and four grandchildren, Jerry, Nauscha, Erica and Christy Burrows, all of Havana.
The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Sally Alexander
Sally Alexander, 79, of Fort Smith died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, in a local hospital. She was the retired manager of the Book Store for the Boston Store, a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Fort Smith and a former employee of the Gateway House.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Roselawn cemetery in Fort Smith officiated by the Rev. Dale Thompson.
She is survived by one daughter, Jane Plummer of Fort Smith; three sons, Doug and Steve of Fort Smith, and Paul of Tulsa; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 2 to 3 p.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Movle McCabe
OZARK — Movle C. McCabe, 82, of Ozark and formerly of Dyer, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000, in Ozark. He was a former mayor of Dyer and a retired feed mill foreman.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Hight cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
He is survived by his wife, Fannie; one daughter, Wilma R. Hare of Chandler, Ariz.; one son, Olen R. McCabe of Ozark; two sisters, Lou Vivian Blair of Alma and Lethia Martin of Haskell, Okla.; one brother, Doyle McCabe of Ozark; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Martin, David McCabe, Jerry Martin, Cecil Osburn, Ronnie Blair and Wesley Martin.
The family will visit with friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
