Mildred Brown
Mildren Intres Brown, 77, of Fort Smith died Friday, Aug, 25, 2000 in a local hospital. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, retired from American Can Company, worked for the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank, was a member of the Clara B. Eno Chapter of Questers International, the Robert Jack V.F.W. Post 1322 Ladies Auxiliary, where she was past president and a member of the TOPS Club. She was the widow of James D. Brown.
Rosary will be recited 7 p.m. today in Putman Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of the funeral home.
She is survived by two daughters, Janet Dorsey of Fort Smith and Maria Sullivan of Van Buren; one son, James D. Brown Jr. of Fort Smith; her godmother, Sister M. Reginald of Fort Smith; one sister, Mary Campbell of Van Buren; one brother, Billy Intres of Van Buren; three grandchildren, Lisa Lewis of Shreveport, La., Tina Phillips of Fort Smith and Scott Sullivan of Van Buren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Wally Hays, Frank Mendoza, Weldon Ramey, Bill Rogers, John Cobb, Burl Maxey, Burch Collins, Andy Lovett and Phil Boren.
The family will visit with friends from 7:30 until 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Basil Buergler, “In His Name” Food Program, 3103 Blackburn St., Fort Smith, AR 72903.

Sammy Lynn
MANSFIELD — Sammy Joe Lynn, 59, of Mansfield died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, in his home. He was retired from A.A.F.E.S.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Pleasant Grove No. 2 cemetery in Abbott under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Mansfield.
He is survived by his companion, Shirley Lynn of Merced, Calif.; one daughter, Pamela Cairncross of Atwater, Calif.; one son, Ryder Joe Lynn of Merced, Calif.; one sister, June Cass of Mansfield; one brother, James Lyn of Coos Bay, Ore.; and three grandchildren, Samantha, Nikki and Katie all of Merced.
The body may be viewed from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Johnny Gilbert
Johnny C. Gilbert, 49, of Fort Smith died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000 in Fort Smith. He was the retired owner/operator of Gilbert Electric, a master electrician who taught classes in Union Hall for electricians and was of the Assembly of God Faith.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Woodlawn Memorial Park Chapel under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He was survived by his mother, Alyne Gilbert of Fort Smith.The family will visit with friends at the funeral home today from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

Albert Remler
VAN BUREN — Albert A. Remler, 82, of Van Buren died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, in a local nursing home. He was a retired furniture repairman for Montgomery Ward in Amarillo, Texas, a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Van Buren.
Graveside service will be 9:30 a.m. at U.S. National cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; one daughter, Carolyn Wilkinson of Van Buren; two sons, Richard Remler of Alma and Charles Remler of Van Buren; one sister, Dot Fraiser of Van Buren; one brother, Scottie Remler of Fort Smith; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Bernice Smith
Bernice L. Smith, 87, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000, in Fort Smith. She was a retired ship painter and a Southern Baptist.
The body was cremated under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by one daughter, Darlene Wooten of Fort Smith; five grandchildren, Shiela, Jackie, Jody, Timmie and Jimmie Sharp, all of Fort Smith; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Gladys McNally
Gladys McNally, 96, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000, in a local hospital. She was the widow of Thomas Hardy McNally and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for 50 years.
Rosary will be 7 p.m. Sunday in Fentress Mortuary Chapel. Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by one son, Tom McNally of Fort Smith; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bob Hill, Hank Nicko, Russell Shaw, Brett Avlos, Steve Werley and Donald Holeman.

Kenneth Marrs
Kenneth Dale Marrs, 69, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000, in a local hospital. He was retired from the Army and was a member of West-Ark Church of Christ.
Funeral will be 11:30 a.m. Monday in Fentress Mortuary Chapel of Fort Smith with burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; three daughters, Brenda Shelly and Susan Price, both of Fort Smith, and Melissa Henry of Cisco, Texas; one son, Ed of Sallisaw; his mother, Montie Marrs of Santa Clara, Calif.; three brothers, Donald of Yuba City, Calif., Bill of Santa Clara, and Ben of Santa Barbara, Calif.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Larry Shelly, Bruce and Jonathan Crabtree, Jeff Mattox, Johnny McAllister, Holan Purifoy, Chuck Henry and Brian Stites.

Rex Spencer
HARTFORD — Rex Leon Spencer, 43, of Hartford died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, in his home. He was a retired maintenance worker with the Texas State Fair Association.
The body was cremated.
He is survived by one son, Stephen A. Spencer of Huntington; his mother, Emogene Spencer of Hartford; three sisters, Billie Munday of Gun Barrel City, Texas, Bernice Helker of Van Buren and Linda Spencer of Muldrow; two brothers, Richard Anthony Spencer of Hartford and David Spencer of Kentucky; and one grandchild.

Freeda McMaster
Freeda L. McMaster, 68, of Van Buren died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, in a local nursing home. She was Crawford County treasurer for 20 years and a member of the Democratic Women of Crawford County and a member of Heritage United Methodist Church.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren.
She is survived by one son, Randy of Van Buren; one sister, Maxine Jones of Lake Jackson, Texas; and two grandchildren, Chris and Jennifer McMaster.

Elaine Bryson
Elaine Weaver Bryson, 55, of Van Buren died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, in a local hospital. She was self-employed and a lifelong resident of Crawford County.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Gill cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
She is survived by one daughter, Gloria Jean Todd of Greenwood; one sister, Deborah Berryman of Van Buren; four brothers, Olen Jerry Weaver of Marysville, Calif., Sonny Weaver of Mulberry, Dennis Weaver of Alma and Gary Weaver of Memphis, Tenn.; and one granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be Steve Wood, Gary Ray and Mark Weaver, Jimmy Dale Hendrick, Billy Ray Rye and David Frye.

R.W. Andrews
R.W. “Ezz” Andrews, 77, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, in a local hospital. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a retired union plumber and a member of Plumbers and Fitters Local Union No. 29 in Fort Smith. He was a member of Cavanaugh Free Will Baptist Church and the Gideons.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Cavanaugh Free Will Baptist Church with burial at Roselawn cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith.
He is survived by one daughter, Nancy Arlene Leftwich of Myrtle Beach, Calif.; two sons, Steven Willis of Fort Smith and Mark Rolland of Dove Canyon, Calif.; two sisters, Ellen Newman of Fort Smith and Lucille Andrews of Lubbock, Texas; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Michael and Dustin Andrews, Jeff Lopez, Fred Sebastian, Paul Sharp and Skip Leftwich.

Tommy Rice
MULBERRY — Tommy Rice, 57, of Mulberry died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, in a local hospital. He was a retired blender for Van Buren Pipe Company.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday in Mount Olive Community Building in Elkins with burial at Mount Olive cemetery in Elkins under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene; one daughter, Tammy Newman of Quinton, Okla.; two sisters, Jeanette Saunders of Dalhart, Texas, and Joyce Rayburn of Bella Vista; one brother, James of Albuquerque, N.M.; and four grandchildren.

Ann Green
Ann Lorraine Green, 72, of Van Buren died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, in a local nursing home. She was a member of the Van Buren First Baptist Church, former owner/operator of a clothing store on Main Street and the widow of Howard Green.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Ocker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren.
She is survived by three sons, William H. Green Jr. and Jerry Don Green, both of Fort Smith and Ronald Green of Van Buren; two sisters, Virginia Sullivent of Alma and Clara Burkhart of Grand Rapids, S.D.; two brothers, Tommy and Bobby Bryant, both of Van Buren; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

George Rodgers
OZARK — George Calvin Rodgers, 76, of Ozark died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, in an Ozark hospital. He was a retired factory supervisor and an Army veteran.
The body will be cremated under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark. No service has been scheduled.
He is survived by two sons, John of Fullerton, Calif., and Larry of Riverside, Calif.; three sisters, Hazel Tripp of Springfield, Mo., and Thelma Williams and Edith Walkley, both of McComb, Ill.; one brother, Charlie of Petigrew; and five grandchildren.

Louise Dill
Louise Dill, 86, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, in a Fort Smith nursing home. She was a homemaker, member of the Phoenix Village Baptist Church and the widow of Curtis Dill.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Dayton cemetery in Dayton.
She is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Heatherington of Fort Smith; one son, Tom of Fort Smith; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ila Jones
BARLING — Ila Jones, 87, of Barling died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, in a local hospital. She was a charter member of Central Freewill Baptist Church in Central City and the widow of Marshall “Chuck” Jones.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Central Freewill Baptist Church with burial at Liberty cemetery in Greenwood under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Lavaca.
She is survived by three daughters, Charlotte Jay of Fort Smith, Jacklyn Berkley of Barling and Barbra Sue Cartwright of Roland; four sons, Bill of Alma, Johnny of Warren, Gary Don of Little Rock and Terry of Barling; two sisters, Agatha Jeffcoat of Charleston and Kathrine Kachinski of Rogers; one brother, W.H. Odom of Brownwood, Texas; 29 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be T.J. Israel, Brian and Chuck Jones, Ryan Jay, Jerry Geheb and Gary Dyer.
The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Central Freewill Baptist Church, 11 East Central Ave., Central City, AR 72941.
