Ruth Nickols
Ruth Andrews Nickols, 94, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004. She was a retired business woman. She and her husband owned and operated ladies clothing stores in Iowa and Texas before moving to Fort Smith where they were associated with the former Tilles Stores. She was a teacher in the Missouri school system during the Depression years, and a member of Goddard United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
Private graveside service will be held at Hopewell cemetery near Versailles, Mo., with arrangements under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by three children, James of Dallas, Robert of Sugar Loaf Lake, and Beverly Placker of Norman, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Bob Geheb
PARIS — Bob M. Geheb, 63, of Paris died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004. He was a sheet metal worker with Burgess Sheet Metal.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at St. Mary’s Catholic cemetery in Barling under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
He is survived by his wife, Becky; two daughters, Jeannette Allen and Tina Kyle, both of Little Rock; a son, Robbie Geheb of Lavaca; a brother, Ben Geheb of Barling; and six grandchildren.
Franklin Bare
MENA — Franklin P. Bare, 83, of Mena died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, in Little Rock. He was born June 2, 1921, in Ringtown, Pa. He was a World War II Army veteran and a retired sawmill worker.
The body was sent for cremation under the direction of Hall Funeral Service of Mena.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline; three sons, Franklin Bare Jr. of West Memphis, William and Teddy Bare, both of Easton, Pa.; a brother, Kenneth Bare of Reiglesville, Pa.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Oscar Bean
MENA — Oscar Bean, 85, of Mena died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004. He was born April 3, 1919, in Black Oak. He worked for the Highway Department in Hot Springs and was a Christian.
The body was sent for cremation under the direction of Hall Funeral Service of Mena.
He is survived by two daughters, Norma Burns and Mary Wells; and one son, George Bean.
Sabrina Streeter
DAVIDSON, Mich. — Sabrina Marie Streeter, 30, of Davidson died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, in Flint, Mich. She was a 1992 graduate of Heavener High School, won second place in the Young Woman of the Year, and attended Carl Albert College.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Big Creek Baptist Church with burial at Blackfork cemetery in Blackfork under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Dec. 11 at Fountain of Grace Assembly of God in Mount Morris, Mich.
She is survived by a daughter, Hannah Streeter of Davidson; a son, Blake Streeter of Davidson; her parents, Deborah and Joe Davis of Blackfork; a sister, Sharon Smith of Ozark; two brothers, Leonard Davis, stationed in Iraq, and Jeff Hagen of Texas; paternal grandparents, Sam Davis of Heavener and Russ and Elaine Streeter of Houghton Lake, Mich.
Barbara Foster
GREENSBORO, Ga. — Barbara M. Klenke Foster, 71, of Greensboro died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, at her residence. She was born Aug. 3, 1933, in Cleveland. She attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn., and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Fort Smith.
Private committal service will be today at First Presbyterian Columbarium with a memorial service at 10 a.m. today at First Presbyterian Church under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; three daughters, Catherine Kirkpatrick of Manhattan Beach, Calif., Toni Dally of Blakeslee, Pa., and Linda Neville of Edmond, Okla.; a son, Richard Foster II of Oklahoma City; a sister, Joan Klenke of Leeds, Ala.; and five grandchildren.

DEQUEEN — Mildred Lavada Davis, 91, of DeQueen died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, in DeQueen. She was born Nov. 21, 1913, in Goodlesville, Tenn. She was a homemaker and the widow of Otis Davis.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Galena cemetery in Umpire under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
She is survived by two daughters, Ruby Carrell of Riovista, Texas, and Bonnie Davis of Wickes; two sons, Glen Davis of Umpire and Virgle Davis of Wickes; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Billy Butler
VANCOUVER, Wash. — Billy Wade Butler, 55, of Vancouver died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, in his home. He was born Oct. 19, 1949, in Battle Creek, Mich. He graduated from San Jose University with a bachelor’s degree, received a baseball scholarship and was a national champion in the Colt league. He worked as a truck driver for Becker Trucking in Portland, Ore., and was of the Methodist faith.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Greenhill cemetery in Cameron. Local arrangements under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
He is survived by his parents, Jimmie and Nancy Butler of Greenview, Calif.; and his fiancee, Rose Marie of California.
Gertie Ray
FAYETTEVILLE — Gertie Swatzel Ray, 100, of Fayetteville, formerly of Clarksville, died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, in Springdale. She was born July 21, 1904, in Sevier County. She was a member of Primitive Baptist Church, spent most of her life in Johnson County and was the widow of Charlie Ray Sr.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at West Mount Zion cemetery in Hartman.
She is survived by a daughter, Mareta Adams of Hartman; a son, Jack Ray of Fayetteville; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Randy, Russ, Matt and Mike Ray, and Bob and Steve Day.
Waunita Hayes
BARLING — Waunita Hayes, 86, of Barling died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, in Greenwood. She was a homemaker, a former employee of McCord Wholesale, and a member of First Baptist Church in Jenny Lind.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Alice Horne of Greenwood; a sister, Clara Watson of Fort Smith; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Larry Biggs, Darrell Taylor, Jim McClain, Don Crockett, Mike Erwin and Bob Woodhull.

Zeffie Mae Cook
Zeffie Mae Cook, 81, of Natural Dam died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, in a local hospital. She attended Independence Free Will Baptist Church and was a lifelong resident of Crawford County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charley.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Independence Free Will Baptist Church with burial at Hall cemetery in Natural Dam under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by a daughter, Eunice Foulk and husband, James, of Van Buren; a son, Ronald Cook and wife, Donna, of Natural Dam; three sisters, Bonnie Tipton of Alma, Arline Mongold of Cedarville and Geneva Bowen of Rogers; a brother, Jeff Moses of Kibler; six grandchildren, Jackie Foulk of Natural Dam, Jeffery Foulk of Van Buren, Charley Foulk of White Hall, Coleena Cluck of Rudy, La Donna Anderson of Rudy and Zeke Cook of Natural Dam; and five great-grandchildren, Brad Foulk of Van Buren, Jessica Foulk of Van Buren, Brittney Foulk of Natural Dam, Sydnee Lee of Alma and Andy Anderson of Rudy.

Billie Jo Carter
Billie Jo Carter, 75, of Mansfield passed away Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was born June 30, 1929, in Tuttle, Okla. She was a wife and mother, a retired farmer, a member of Mansfield First Baptist Church, a founding member of the Belle Pointe Quilters Guild and a Navy wife for 24 years.
Mrs. Carter is survived by her husband, Earl; three sons, Jerry and his wife Laura of Mansfield, Gary and his wife Julie of Alexandria, Va., and Burt of Virginia Beach, Va., Other survivors include four grandsons, Michael and his wife Angie of Cameron, Bryan of Mansfield and Jason and Christopher, both of Alexandria. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren, Zachary, Ryan and Lexi, all of Cameron.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Mansfield First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Ingram officiating. Burial will be at Coop Prairie cemetery in Mansfield under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Mansfield. Serving as pallbearers will be Gary and Bobby Musgrove, Bruce Pyles, Brooks Godwin, Ken Boyd and Marion Mathis. Elva G. “Ray” Graham
Elva G. “Ray” Graham, 92, of Lavaca passed away on Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, at Peachtree Hospice in Fort Smith. She was born in Cornish (Fort Chaffee) on Sept. 7, 1912. She was raised in and spent most of her life in Lavaca. She was a faithful servant of God and a dedicated hard-working daughter, sister, wife, homemaker and mother of 12 children. She loved sewing (making clothes for her family, friends, neighbors and relatives), making quilts and growing a garden. She was an assisted care provider in the homes of people in Lavaca, Alma and Fort Smith for many years.
She was very much a virtuous woman, spelled out in the Holy Bible, Book of Proverbs, Chapter 31, and believed that a soft answer turned away wrath. She will be greatly missed by all who have had the opportunity to know her. She always loved all of her children and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Acie Graham; two sons, Rupert and Johnny Lee Graham; two grandsons, David and Jonathon Woglom; one great-granddaughter, Dawn Hoffert; her parents, John Henry Ray and Mary Bell Bassett Ray; two sisters, Lola Bell Ray and Nora House; and two brothers, Eugene and Raymond Ray.
She is survived by four daughters, Zeta Bell McLane and husband George of Shelby, Ala., Becky Ann Bonilla and husband David of Tyler, Texas, Linda Lucille Green of Muldrow and Rosetta Brandenburg of Van Buren; six sons, Eddie Gene Graham and wife Sheila of Lake Kiowa, Texas, Freddy Ray Graham, Franklin Pierce Graham and wife Patricia of Lavaca, Michael “Mickey” Graham and wife Coleen of Truxton, Mo., Harold Dewitt Graham of Greenwood and daughter-in-law Genell Graham of Lavaca and Ronnie Carl Graham and wife Kris of Olathe, Kan.; 30 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, 26 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral will be at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Lavaca on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with burial at Lavaca City cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenneth E. Graham, Daniel G. Graham, Jonathan E. Graham, Harold M. Graham, David L. Graham, Mark A. Graham, Tommy G. Green, Richard Brandenburg and Brian Jones. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.
David LeRoy Lowe
David LeRoy Lowe, 61, of Charleston died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, in a local hospital. He had been a resident of Charleston for the past 10 years and was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He was a retired sheet metal worker.
Memorial service will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Evangel Temple in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Regina Lowe of the home; six daughters, Lacey Lowe of the home, Kelly Gandy, Kim Smith, Karen Harmon and Renee Brewer, all of Springfield, Ill., and Kathy Lowe of Jacksonville, Ill.; a son, David Lowe Jr. of Sanford, Fla.; his mother, Violet Lowe of Springfield; four sisters, Mary Kay Lowe, Louise Hurst and Lois Livingston, all of Springfield, and Sheila Payne of Florida; eight brothers, James, Dick, Dennis, Randy, Bill, Ronald, Stephen and Jerry Lowe, all of Springfield; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Captola Beam Bugg, age 87, of Barling died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, in Fort Smith. She was born July 16, 1917, in Greenwood to Charles and Bessie Baker Beam. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lon Hayes Bugg. She is survived by three daughters, Mary Ruth Caviness and Joyce Ann Lackey, both of Fort Smith, and Peggy Marie Moon of Barling; two sons, Lon W. Bugg of Fort Smith and Leon Hayes Bugg of Prairie Village, Kan.; one sister, Bertha Weir of Hackett; 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with interment at Steep Hill cemetery. Family will visit with friends and family at the funeral home on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Bill J. Ellis, 77, of Fort Smith died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, in Fort Smith. He was retired from Dixie Cup and was in the Navy. His parents, John and Bertha Ellis, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Oak Cliff Baptist Church in Fort Smith with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda; two daughters, Melissa Sweeney and her husband Rod of Alma and Susan Johnson and her husband Don of Baton Rouge, La.; two sisters, Mary Evelyn Hillhouse of Fort Smith and Catherine Beauchamp of California; four grandchildren, Shelly Alexander and her husband Scott, Jason and wife Julie Hamilton, Chris Sweeney of Fayetteville and Megan and husband Daniel Dean of Alma; and two great-grandchildren, Grace Hamilton and William Alexander.
