Billy Mattox
ALMA — Billy Gene Mattox, 73, of Alma died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, in a local hospital. He was a retired Contel Telephone Co. supervisor and an Alma Fire Department volunteer. He was a member of White Oak Presbyterian Church and Alma Lions Club.
Graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Highland cemetery in Ozark under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne; two daughters, Jan Owens and Fran Hill, both of Alma; three sisters, Jerry Payne of Van Buren, Betty Cagle of Ozark and Pat Price of Branch; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Bill Tincher
GORE — Bill Tincher, 76, of Gore died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, in Sallisaw. He was born Jan. 5, 1928, in Tahlequah, Okla. He was steelworker foreman at Industrial Fabricators and Superior Hard Finishing in Tulsa and member of The Lighthouse Tabernacle in Gore.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at The Lighthouse Tabernacle with burial at Gore cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Gore.
He is survived by his wife, Catheryn; a daughter, Connie Poppell of Vian; three sons, Roger Tincher of Forney, Texas, Robert Tincher of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Doug Tincher of Gore; two sisters, Jessie Sisney of Tahlequah and Ruth Masters of Wagoner, Okla.; a brother, Buster Bishop of Alabama; 20 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Zachary Tincher, Mickey and Will Eklund, Gary and Danny Sellers and Shane Wise.
The body may be viewed from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ralph Roberts
Ralph Roberts, 77, of Roland died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, in Oklahoma City. He owned R&S Auto Parts and was active in the auto parts and service business for 58 years. He was a member of Bruton Lodge No. 30, past monarch of the Amrita Grotto, a member of the Shrine and Roland Lions Club, and a Navy veteran serving during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene “Bill” Roberts of the home; two daughters, Leisa Irvin and Tina Sampson of Muldrow; one son, Dwayne Roberts of Muldrow; two sisters, Doris Fletcher and Clarice Chisum, both of Muldrow; five brothers, Melvin Roberts of Fort Smith and Roy, Delmas, Kenny and Earl Roberts, all of Roland; and five grandchildren, Galen Irvin, Daxx Roberts, Rachel Irvin, Drew Roberts and Kyle Sampson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Hunter.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Muldrow with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Ben Daniel, Rodney Carter and Tommy, Johnny, Jeff and Kendall Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Young, Paul Liles, Tom Tally, Bill Wilson, Don Carter, Dean Sampson, Dick Nelson, Tommy Fowler, Marvin Holland, Waylon Jones and the Bruton Lodge No. 30.
The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home today from 6 to 8 p.m.

Charlotte Gail Wise
Charlotte Gail Wise, 64, passed away Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, in her home in Huntington. She was retired from Whirlpool after 35 years and worked part time at the Choctaw Travel Plaza in Pocola. She was born Nov. 23, 1940, in Fort Smith to Rosebud and Bert Robinett, and married
Billy Jack McCaslin in 1956. The union produced a son, Dennis. Charlotte was also married
to James Hooper and Danny Wise, and she was preceded in death by her first and third husbands.
A devoted and doting mother and grandmother, Granny was a totally altruistic soul who always put the needs of others first. She enjoyed collecting angels, spending time on her computer, spending time with her family and friends and making life easier for everyone around her. She is survived by her son, Dennis of Fort Smith and his wife, Katrina, who Charlotte loved like her own daughter. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Stephanie, Joey and Brieanne as well as her adopted granddaughter and great-granddaughter, Amy and Courtney Shipman, and her father Bert, who is 99 years old. She is also survived by two sisters, Jeanie Parks of Van Buren and Wanda Winters of Alma; several nieces and nephews and a plethora of friends who cherished her for her sweet disposition and devoted friendship.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today at Fentress Mortuary Chapel in Fort Smith. Burial will be held at Gill cemetery under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith. The family will meet and greet visitors at the McCaslin home in Fort Smith after the services.

Wesley L. Horn
Wesley L. Horn, 57, of Fort Smith passed away Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004, in Oklahoma City. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was a car salesman and an Army veteran of the Vietname War.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial at U.S. National cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; two daughters, Casey Chastain and husband Nick of Fort Smith and Tracy Folks and her husband, Chris, of Greenwood; one son, Wayland Horn and wife Dottie of Fort Smith; one sister, Charlotte Powell and her husband, Rex, of Bridgeport, Texas; brother, Manuel Horn of Van Buren; three grandchildren, Ryan Horn, Jacob Horn, and Austin Chastain.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Horn, Russell Horn, Chris Folks, Nick Chastain, Steve Horn and DeWayne Crouch.

Becky Jackson Guyton
Becky Jackson Guyton, 36, entered into the loving arms of Jesus Christ on Friday, Dec. 10, 2004. She was the former assistant manager of Taco Bell in Van Buren. Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Phyllis and Bill Jackson; a sister, Rita Blasingame; and a lifelong friend, Henry Hamilton.
She is survived by her husband, Michael of Spiro; one son, Montana Ruth of Fort Smith; two daughters, Tesla and Kayla Guyton, both of Spiro; one sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Larry Stem of Kibler; two nephews, Christopher Fears of Little Rock and Chad Blasingame of Fort Smith; five nieces, Chrysty Pixley of Austin, Texas, Kendra Blasingame of Little Rock, Baylor Miles of Kibler, Zoey Pixley of Austin, Texas, and Maddie Fears of Little Rock. Becky was blessed by a loving family and supported by lifelong friends.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Gill cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.

Esta Mae McCubbins
Esta Mae McCubbins, 63, of Magazine was born Sept. 16, 1941, in Paris. She passed Dec. 11, 2004, in her home in Magazine. She was of the Assembly of God faith. She was preceded in death by a son, Danny Paul McCubbins.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. today at Roberts Memorial Chapel with burial at Mountain Grove cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
She is survived by her husband, Curtis McCubbins of the home; four daughters, Debbie Harbour and her husband Mitch of Booneville, Teresa Hixson and her husband Thomas Hixson of Clarksville, Joy Duvall and husband Mark of Booneville and Penny Mainard and husband Monty Mainard of Magazine; two sons, Tony McCubbins of Magazine and Justin McCubbins of Booneville; four sisters, Rose Lee Miller and Carolyn Colbin, both of Hobbs, N.M., Glenda Catlett and Gloria Walker, both of Booneville; one brother, Ricky Williams of Booneville; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Neva Kolb
Neva Kolb, 79, of Van Buren died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004, in Van Buren. She was born Jan. 12, 1925, in Waurika, Okla. She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. in 1986 with 41 years of service. She was a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers, a community service organization of active and retired telephone employees, and a former Weight Watchers employee. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Fort Smith for over 50 years.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by her husband, Ken; a niece, Donna Edwards and her husband, Perry, of Van Buren, with whom she resided; a sister, Ruby Coble of Van Buren; and several other nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be her nephews, John Ware and Perry Edwards, both of Van Buren, Charles Coble of El Dorado, Andy Estes of Russellville, Brandon Hubbard of Farmington and Stephen Lee of Fort Smith.

Sonny Whitson
Sonny Whitson, 63, of Barling died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004, in a Barling retirement home. He was born Feb. 17, 1941, to Cal Whitson and Ruby (Walker). He was an electrician for Arkansas Valley Electric, and a member of the National Guard.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Highland cemetery in Ozark under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark, with the Rev. Randy Mullikin officiating.
He is survived by his former wife and friend, Wanda Whitson of Paris; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Jim Gaston of Fort Smith; a brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Bobbie Whitson of Mulberry; two grandchildren, Tyler Gaston of Fort Smith and Leslie Gaston of Fort Smith; a nephew, Matthew Whitson of Mulberry.

Harold Pitts
CLARKSVILLE — Harold H. Pitts, 80, of Clarksville died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004, in Clarksville. He was a retired glass glazier, an Air Force veteran of World War II, a member of Woodland Baptist Church and the widower of Betty Pitts.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Lamar cemetery in Lamar.
He is survived by three daughters, Jennifer Dunn of Hot Springs, Betty Hays of Mesa, Ariz., and Wanda Stutzman of Cloudland, Ga.; two sons, Wayne Pitts of London and Dean Pitts of Van Buren; a sister, Verna Dunagan of Arizona; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

CLARKSVILLE — Lynda Lucille Fuss, 74, of Clarksville died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004, in Clarksville. She was born Aug. 31, 1928, in Los Angeles. She was a member of Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall and the widow of Raymond Fuss.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. today at Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall. The body was cremated under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville.
She is survived by a son, Kelley Fuss of Clarksville; a sister, Dariel McKinney of Gardena, Calif.; and a brother, David McKinney of Grants Pass, Ore.
Bill Wiley
Bill Wiley, 77, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, in his home. He was born Jan. 10, 1927, in Kansas City, Mo. He was a retired employee of Rheem Manufacturing Co., a World War II veteran of Merchant Marines and a former member of the Air National Guard; he was of the Assembly of God faith and the widower of Dale Wiley.
Burial will be at Wright cemetery in Subiaco under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
He is survived by two daughters, Kathy Baxter of Rogers and Joyce Marley of Alma; a sister, Darlene Bond of New York; a brother, Deanie Wiley of Wichita, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Goldie Todd
MENA — Goldie Todd, 78, of Mena died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, in Mena. She was born July 4, 1926, in Opal. She was a waitress and a member of Dallas Avenue Baptist Church.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Boardcamp cemetery under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
She is survived by her husband, Alvin; a daughter, Kathy Whaley of Houston; and a sister, Winnie Wiles of Mena.

June Higgs
HACKETT — June Higgs, 87, of Hackett died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, in Greenwood. She was a homemaker, a member of Church of Christ and the widow of Guss Higgs.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Cross cemetery in Greenwood.
She is survived by three sisters, Lucille Nichols and Treva Marter, both of Fort Smith, and Catherine Alexander of Conway.

Charlie Bittick, 54, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004, in Fort Smith. He worked for KPOM Television in Fort Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy; two daughters, Emily Bittick of Haskell, Okla., and Carmen Webb of Fort Smith; and seven grandchildren.
