Lana Faye Rosson
Lana Faye Rosson, 62, of Van Buren died Dec. 8, 2004, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker and loving wife and mother.
She is survived by her husband, Donald, of the home; two daughters, Stephanie and husband Ricky Woodruff of Van Buren, and LaDonna Hamilton of Van Buren; one son, Donald H. Rosson of Rancho Cordova, Calif.; a sister, Anita Kaye Della Cruz of Rancho Cordova, Calif.; and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Velma Hollaway, and a brother, Anthony Hollaway.
Memorial services will be Monday at 2 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 8006, Fort Smith, AR 72902; Arkansas Children’s Hospital, P.O. Drawer 2222, Little Rock, AR 72203; or Vietnam Veterans of America, 8605 Cameron St., Suite 400, Silver Spring, MD 20910.

Opal Mae Albert
Opal Mae Albert, 85, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ in Altus. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Mike Albert.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Fentress Mortuary Chapel with burial at the U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary.
She is survived by two sons, Michael and wife Debbie Albert of Fort Smith and Anthony Albert of Fort Smith; and three grandchildren, Anaya, Ashley and Kristie Albert.
Pallbearers will be DeWayne Garrett, Steve McCurdy, Copa Replogle, Costa Skoumbourdis, Ernest Pruitt and Joe Wewers.
Visitation will be today from 1 to 3 p.m. at Fentress Mortuary.

Foy William Brown Jr.
Foy William Brown Jr., 70, of Fort Smith passed away Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, in Fort Smith. He was a member of Oak Cliff Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and choir member. He was in the Air National Guard and an industrial engineer.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Oak Cliff Baptist Church with interment to follow in Oak cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, Judy of the home; daughter, Jennifer Harris and husband Billy of Fort Smith; son, Patrick Brown of Fort Smith; sister, Emma Jo Giuffre of Fort Smith; and four grandchildren, Peter, Bayley, Emilyn and Ammah Harris of Fort Smith.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Phil Whitten Jr., Blake Almond, Steve Almond, Darrell Taylor, Giles Heibling, Billy Harris, Ken Grunewald and Dr. Bill Bounds.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Crowley, Wayne Townsend and the deacons of Oak Cliff Baptist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Oak Cliff Baptist Church, 3701 Gary, Fort Smith, AR 72903.

Otis L. Landers
Otis L. Landers, 61, of Van Buren died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, in a local hospital. He was a member of Homestead Heights Baptist Church and retired from Van Buren Pipe Co.
Funeral will be 9 a.m. Monday at Gill cemetery Arbor with burial at Gill cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by four daughters, Kristie Hampton of Murphy, Texas, Becky Hodge of Benton, and Laura Williams and Norma Starr, both of Fort Smith; a sister, Gracie Stites of Van Buren; a brother, James Weaver of Alma; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Wade Parr, Danny Ming, Danny Fight, Bill Wright, Guy Morley, James Ames and Stephen Cross.
The family will visit with friends from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home, 700 Jefferson, Van Buren.

Dollie Mae Miley
Dollie Mae Miley, age 75, of Carter Cove died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at her home. She was born June 4, 1929, in Sebastian County to the late Andy D. “Dallas” and Ella Mae Gleason Jeffcoat.
She was a homemaker, a sales representative for Blair, Stanley and Tupperware, and previously owned and operated a restaurant and motel in Carter Cove on Lake Nimrod. Mrs. Miley traveled extensively as a military spouse and was stationed in Japan and Germany. She was the wife of a Baptist minister in Jackson, Miss., until his death. Mrs. Miley was a Christian and attended the Plainview Jesus Name Pentecostal Church.
She was preceded in death by a brother, A.D. Jeffcoat, and a sister, Essie Mae Jeffcoat.
Survivors: stepmother Ruby Jeffcoat Lykins of Lavaca; son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Linda Moody of Fort Smith; two daughters and son-in-law, Patricia and Craig Coyner of Bend, Ore., and Christina Ann Miley of Herndon, Va.; brother and sister-in-law, J.D. and Ruth Jeffcoat of Lavaca; sisters and brothers-in-law; Mary and Tom Madden of Greenwood, Betty and Bob Caldwell of Cedarville and Lanita and Joe Kunkel of Bentonville; one grandchild and spouse, Michelle and Andy Niewald of Fort Smith; and two great-grandchildren, Jarrett and Madelyn Neece of Fort Smith.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Plainview Jesus Name Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Stacy Lisenby officiating. Interment will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Oak Valley cemetery, Arkansas 96, Greenwood.
Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville.

Horace Sandlin
Horace D. Sandlin, 88, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, in Fort Smith. He was born Sept. 8, 1916, in Hartford. He was employed by Armbruster Stageways, was retired from Bancorp South, had served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s and was an Army veteran of World War II. He repaired and refurbished antique clocks after his retirement. He was the widower of Syble Sandlin.
Private burial will be Monday at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by a son, Glenn Sandlin of Washington, D.C.

Dale Blythe
CHARLESTON — Dale Blythe, 57, of Charleston died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, in Fort Smith. He was born Jan. 5, 1947, in Shreveport, La. He was an electrician for Whirlpool and a Coast Guard veteran who served in the Philippines.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Smith Mortuary Chapel in Charleston with burial at noon at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Debra; two sons, Laurel Briley of Keota, Okla., and Shawn Briley of Mobile, Ala.; his father, Arvil Blythe of Charleston; and three grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Glenda Burris
Glenda Carolyn Burris, 64, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, in a local hospital. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at Dublin Freewill Baptist Church with burial at Ware’s Chapel cemetery near Paris under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by two sisters, Wanda Julius of Gassville and Neva Spicer of Subiaco; and a brother, Dennis Burris of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Randy, Dan and Robert Burris, Larry Spicer, Robert Reames and Tom Primm.
The family will visit with friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Byron Jones
Byron W. Jones, 88, of Fort Smith died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, in Fort Smith. He was a former resident of San Diego, a Navy veteran of World War II and a retired carpenter.
Funeral will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith with burial at a later date in San Diego.
He is survived by a daughter, Sondra Torres of Fort Smith; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

William Meredith
BLOOMER — William J. Meredith, 80, of Bloomer died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, in Claremore, Okla. He was born Feb. 28, 1924, in Long Beach, Calif. He was a maintenance worker for Campbell Soup in Fayetteville and an Army veteran of World War II.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at Smith Mortuary Chapel in Charleston with burial at Morris cemetery in Bloomer.
He is survived by a daughter, Elaine Blevins of Claremore; two sons, Bobby Meredith of Blacksburg, Va., and Dennis Meredith of Albuquerque, N.M.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ralph Roberts
ROLAND — Ralph Roberts, 76, of Roland died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, in Oklahoma City. He owned R&S Auto Parts and was in the auto parts and service business for 58 years. He was a member of Bruton Lodge No. 30, the Shrine and Roland Lions Club and past monarch of the Amrita Grotto. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church in Muldrow with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene; two daughters, Leisa Irvin and Tina Sampson, both of Muldrow; a son, Dwayne Roberts of Muldrow; two sisters, Doris Fletcher and Clarice Chisum, both of Muldrow; five brothers, Melvin Roberts of Fort Smith and Roy, Delmas, Kenny and Earl Roberts, all of Roland; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ben Daniel, Rodney Carter and Tommy, Johnny, Jeff and Kendall Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will include members of Bruton Lodge No. 30.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bruton Lodge No. 30, Route 2 Box 361, Muldrow OK 74948, or to the charity of one’s choice.
