COAL HILL — Carl D. Terherst, 78, of Coal Hill died Saturday, June 23, 2001, in his home. He was born Nov. 7, 1922, in Denver, Ark. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of Coal Hill VFW 8532 and a labor union member. He attended the Pentecostal Church. He was the widower of Kathern Terherst.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Coal Hill Baptist Church with burial at Coal Hill cemetery, under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville.
He is survived by eight daughters, Lena Roe of Omaha, Ark., Lynda Kite of Vine Grove, Ky., Lana Chronister, Mary Morgan, Julie Yates and Beckie Stewart, all of Coal Hill, Jamie Brice of Knoxville and Teresa Greb of Branch; two sons, Jackie of Wharton, W.V., and Gary of Coal Hill; two sisters, Bamie Jones of Harrison and Bonnie Asberry of Green Forest; a brother, Wayburn of Omaha; and 23 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Terry Roe, Wayne Terherst, Shane and Wade Chronister and Bradley and Chris Morgan.
The family will visit with friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Hazel Israel
BONANZA — Hazel Rebecca Israel, 89, of Bonanza died Sunday, June 24, 2001, in a Greenwood nursing home. She was a homemaker and a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Hackett. She was the widow of Ray Monroe Israel.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Mount Zion cemetery in Hackett.
She is survived by two sons, Edwin Ray Israel of Panama and William Murray Israel of Pocola; one brother, Richard Needham of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; and 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Susie Beard
Susie Lucille Beard, 87, of Fort Smith died Friday, June 22, 2001, in Fort Smith.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Spring Creek cemetery near Springdale under the direction of Callison-Lough Funeral Service of Bentonville.
She is survived by two sisters, Betty Jane Mahan and Irene Thompson, both of Fort Smith; a niece, Linda Lincks of Richardson, Texas; and a nephew, Hubert Ross Holland Jr. of Arkoma.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Edward Mercy Hospice, P.O. Box 17000, Fort Smith AR 72917-1150.

Charles Stewart
GREENWOOD — Charles A. Stewart, 78, of Greenwood died Saturday, June 23, 2001, in his home. He was a retired plant manager for AMOCO and a member of the Greenwood United Methodist Church. He was the widower of Jane Stewart.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Liberty cemetery in Greenwood.
He is survived by two daughters, Sherry Attrell of Highland Village, Texas, and Sonya Renner of Houston, Texas; a sister, Jane Ware of Greenwood; two brothers, Vernon and H.B., both of Greenwood; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Troy Vaughn, Foy Brown, Gene Winford, John Fairbanks, Marvin Richardson, Jim Christian, Jerry Don Kesner and Allen Heard.
The body may be viewed from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Greenwood United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 548, Greenwood, AR 72936.

Randy Mendoza
Randy Mendoza, 43, of Little Rock, formerly of Fort Smith, died Tuesday, June 19, 2001, in Little Rock. He was a truck driver for Eagle Trucking Co. in Little Rock.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith.
He is survived by a companion, Barbara of the home; two daughters, Miranda Mendoza of the home and Billie Jean Jones of Van Buren; his mother, Bernice Riggs of Spiro; three sisters, Melinda Mendoza of Fort Smith, LaDonna Weir of El Reno, Okla., and Delia Riggs of Spiro; six brothers, Frank, Cleve, Billy and Wayne Mendoza, all of Spiro, Tony Riggs of Hennessey, Okla., and Craig Riggs of Blytheville; one granddaughter, Tayler Jones of Van Buren; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Robert Mendoza, Richard Abbott, Gary Bullington, Richard Pierce, Archie Winters and Mark Biggers.

Luster D. Perrin
Luster D. Perrin, 81, of Fort Smith entered into rest Wednesday, June 20, 2001, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born April 24, 1920, in Barstow, Texas, to the late Arthur and Johnnie Wilcox Perrin. Luster was retired from U.S. Forgecraft and was of the Church of Christ faith.
Graveside service was Friday at Roselawn cemetery officiated by the Rev. Andy Allen. Luster is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Jewel Parmer Perrin of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Pete Jarancik of Alma, and Martha and Jackie Floyd of Muldrow; a sister, Pat Crepe of Silver City, N.M.; a brother, Johnnie Perrin of Deming, N.M.; five grandchildren, Kathy Moore, Deborah Zeiler, Terry Stubblefield, Michael Jarancik and Aletha Jewel Maze; and 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.

John Z. Wilson
John Z. Wilson, 93, of Hartford died Thursday, June 21, 2001, in a Fort Smith nursing home. He was a retired supervisor at Uniroyal Tire in Detroit. He was preceded in death by his wives, Charlotte and Frances.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday in McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Hartford with burial at Hartford Memorial Park.
He is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann Noble of Hartford; a son and daughter-in-law, John E. and Connie Wilson of Hartford; two sisters, Lucy Lange of Fort Smith and Elizabeth Richard of East Windsor, Conn.; six grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bob Rosso, Jimmy Dunn, Basil Wooten, Joe Bona, Jimmy Roberts and Bob Fouts.
The body may be viewed 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Denna Hineman
HIXSON, Tenn. — Denna Hineman, 63, of Hixson, Tenn., died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, in Chattanooga, Tenn. She was born Nov. 27, 1937, in Rhea County. She was a graduate of Alma High School and a retired licensed practical nurse and attended Bethel Temple Assembly of God in Hixson, Tenn.
Funeral was Friday in Vanderwall Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton, Tenn., with burial at Rhea Memory Gardens.
She is survived by her husband, Larry; her children, Lebron Hineman and Tanya Pippin, both of Hixson, Tenn., Connie Busby of Van Buren, Rick Plum of Alma, Cassie Womack and Nick Hineman, both of Soddy Daisy and Robin Styres of Jasper, Tenn.; a sister, Lucille Harris of Soddy Daisy; two brothers, Dewey Sneed of Dayton, Tenn., and Dennis Sneed of Arkansas; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Carolyn Martinez
Carolyn June Martinez, 59, of Fort Smith died Thursday, June 21, 2001, in a local nursing home. She was a homemaker and a Protestant.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Barling City cemetery under the direction of Putnam Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by two daughters, Lete Myers of Avondale, Ariz., and Chandra Valenti of Grants Pass, Ore.; a son, Ronald Glasby of Fontana, Calif.; her mother, Edna Morgan of Fort Smith; a sister, Linda Godwin of Fort Smith; two brothers, Mike and Wayne Whittamore, both of Fort Smith; and five grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Edith Stone
DANVILLE — Edith Stone, 81, of Danville, formerly of Waldron, died Thursday, June 21, 2001, in Danville. She was a homemaker and the widow of Winford Lee Stone.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel in Danville with burial at 2 p.m. at Sehorn cemetery in Waldron.
She is survived by a daughter, Carol Gilbert of Danville; two sons, Scott Stone of Las Vegas and Lee Stone of San Jon, N.M.; a brother, Glinn Morrow of Chico, Texas; 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and grandsons-in-law.

Betty McDonald
Betty Louise McDonald, 74, of Van Buren, formerly of Wichita, Kan., died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, in Van Buren. She was a homemaker.
The body was cremated under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by a daughter, Janice S. McDonald of the home; a son, Lary McDonald of the home; a sister, June Moore of Wichita, Kan.

Dorothy Vines
Dorothy Vines, 79, of Van Buren died Friday, June 22, 2001, in a local hospital. She was the last of 15 children and was a member of First Baptist Church of Van Buren. She was the widow of Charles Franklin Vines.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren.
She is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Bell of Alma; three sons, Charles Wayne Vines of Harrison, John Vines of Huntsville and Frankie Vines of Alma; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Brad Coble, Branson Harris, James Best, Gary and Danny Deffenbaugh and Paul Hayes Jr.
The family will visit with friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Ida Freeman
Ida Bell Freeman, 73, of Van Buren died Thursday, June 21, 2001, in a local hospital. She was a member of New Life Pentecostal Church.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gill cemetery in Van Buren.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce; four daughters, Linda Curk of Van Buren, Joyce Calicott of Fort Smith, Mary Jean Crocker of California and Barbara Silman of South Carolina; two sons, Tommy and Darrell Freeman, both of Van Buren; three sisters, Olive Coverson of Van Buren, Billie Bullock of Alma and Betty Pinkston of Spiro; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Joseph and John Calicott, Billy, Tommy and Darrell Freeman, Bruce Dotson.

Pearl Bernard
UNIONTOWN — Pearl Lea Bernard, 87, of Uniontown died Thursday, June 21, 2001, in a local hospital. She was a charter member of Uniontown Assembly of God.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Seabolt cemetery near Nicut.
She is survived by a daughter, Selma Bernard of Uniontown; two sons, William L. Bernard of Muldrow and Noah Levon Bernard of Uniontown; four grandchildren, Donald, Richard and Brandon Bernard and Sherry Johnson and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Clyde and Mike Hamilton, Eddie Cole, Don and Edward Carson and Vernon Russell.

Clyde Weatherford
MENA — Clyde E. Weatherford, 86, of Mena died Thursday, June 21, 2001, in his home. He was born Feb. 9, 1915, in Holdenville, Okla. He was an Air Force veteran, serving in World War II, and retired from Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, Okla., as an electronics technician.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday in Hall Funeral Service Memorial Chapel in Mena with burial at Hopper cemetery.
He is survived his wife, Betty; two daughters, Karen Slagle of Newalla, Okla., and Margie McAnally of Arkadelphia; five grandchildren, Tara and Brian Slagle, Cole, Parker and Shelby McAnally.
Pallbearers will be Chris McAnally, Steve and Brian Slagle, Gene Ross, Gale Weatherford and Jimmy Donasoldi.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Mena Medical Center Hospice.
