OZARK — Wera “Mickey” Doss, 68, of Ozark died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, in Fort Smith. She was born Oct. 5, 1936, in Prague, Czechoslovakia. She was a homemaker, a retired business owner and a member of Freedom of Faith Tabernacle.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Freedom of Faith Tabernacle with burial at Mount View cemetery in Ozark under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
She is survived by her husband, Dean; two sons, John Doss of Piedmont, Okla. and Cliff Doss of Charleston; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be David and Mark Ross, Brent Graham, Brad Cordell, James and Derek Nietert. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the church.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Herbert Jones Sr.
MIDWAY— Herbert Lee Jones Sr., 61, of Midway died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born June 19, 1943, in Logan County. He was a rock worker for the Ivo Jones Rainbow Stone Co., and a member of the Midway Assembly of God.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Midway Assembly of God with burial at Horne cemetery in Midway under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home of Paris.
He is survived by a daughter, Candy Jones of Subiaco; four sons, Herbert Jones Jr. of New Blaine, Bobbie Jones of Subiaco, Ivo Jones of Conway, and Dwight Jones of Dardanelle; his mother, Imogene Jones of Subiaco; a sister, Shirley Virden of Russellville; a brother, Mitchell Jones of Subiaco; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Larry Parson, Harold Davison, Cletis Harrison, Gary Horne, Paul Burton and Paul Burton Sr.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Geneva Oliver
Geneva Bracken Oliver, 88, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, in Fort Smith. She worked with the “Rosie Riveters” industry in California during World War II, she was the retired owner of the Point Liquor Store.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Center Valley cemetery in Bloomer under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
She is survived by her brother, Virgil Bracken of Fort Smith.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

HACKETT — Harper “Jay” Jordan, 68, of Hackett died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, in a Little Rock hospital. He was a retired mechanic, a veteran of the Navy, and attended the Greenwood Church of the Nazarene.
Funeral will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at Greenwood Church of the Nazarene with burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; two daughters, Lorryn Wallace of Galt, Calif. and Kimberly Jordan of Freemont, Calif.; two sons, Scott Jordan of Bonanza and Jerry Jordan of Amarillo, Texas; a sister, Linda; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Scott Jordan, Jesse Wallace, Kelly Williams, Terry Duboise, Clark Williams and Cody Sciuto.
The body may be viewed 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Glen Stenhouse
CAMDEN — Glen Stenhouse, 67, of Camden died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, in Camden. He was a retired Southern Baptist minister who pastored in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri, and was a volunteer fireman.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Mount Olive cemetery in Midland under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; three daughters, Amy Iman of Camden, Donna Stenhouse of Little Rock, and Sarah Pritchett of Iberia, Mo.; four sisters, Jeanie Stane of Owasso, Okla., Mary Harger of Covina, Calif., Bertha Cowan of MIdland, and Betty Smith of Mansfield; four brothers, Eugene Stenhouse of Sacramento, Calif., Bill and Bob Stenhouse, both of Tulsa, and David Stenhouse of Broken Arrow, Okla.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Goldie Leah Ogden Sisco Martin
Goldie Leah Ogden Sisco Martin, 97, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, at Sparks Regional Medical Center’s Peachtree Hospice in Fort Smith.
Mrs. Martin was born Nov. 29, 1907, in Quinton, Okla., the year it became a state. She had retired as a retail sales person from Froug’s Department Store in Fort Smith. She had also worked at the Boston Store, Hunt’s, The Marietta Shop and S & Q Clothiers. Previously, she and her husband, Dave, owned and managed two grocery stores in the 1940s located on the south side of Fort Smith. She was also the owner of the Southern Candy Vendors, one of the first vending machine businesses in Fort Smith in the 1950s. In 1955, she joined Goddard United Methodist Church, where she sang in the Chancel Choir. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, the Harvesters/Crusaders Sunday school class, the Goddard Quilters and a past president of the Gladys Hassler Guild. Previously, she was a member of the St. Luke’s Methodist Church, now known as Wesley, and a past president of the Women’s Society of Christian Service. Before that, her husband Dave was a Methodist Circuit preacher in the 1940s and 1950s, and as a pastor’s wife, she attended churches in Bonanza, as well as Arkoma, Bokoshe, Moffett, Red Oak, Panama and Pocola. She was also a past president of the Southside Elementary School PTA. On her 90th birthday, she received a key to the City of Fort Smith from the mayor and a letter of congratulations from President Bill Clinton at a party in her honor held at Goddard.
On Jan. 18, 1927, she marred David Bryan Sisco in McAlester, Okla. They later divorced in 1955. He preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 1979. On March 21, 1986, she married
Carl Martin in Fort Smith. He preceded her in death on Sept. 30, 1991. Her parents, Robert Lee and Effie Casey Ogden; five brothers, Bruce, Carl, Jack, Herman and Denver; and one sister, Ruth Garis; and two sons, John Darrell and David Bryan Sisco; as well as two sons-in-law, Nelson Blaylock and Sam Wilson, preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Helen Blaylock Wilson of Fort Smith, Virgnia Wright and husband, Alfred S. of Hot Springs, and Mary Ann Rush and husband, Clifton F. of El Dorado and Fajardo, Puerto Rico; and daughter-in-law, Lois Pullen Sisco of Hayward, Calif. Other survivors include two sisters, Pansy Whitehead of Lancaster, Texas, and Rita Bailey of Duncanville, Texas; and one brother, Rudolph Ogden of Quinton, Okla.; 15 grandchildren, Beverly Ann Blaylock Dorsett and husband, Robert, Donna Sue Blaylock Hunt and husband, Earle Houston III, Connie Gail Blaylock Addison and husband, Mike, Joyce Ann Wright Brundage, Scott Allen Wright, Christopher Michael Wright and wife, Brenda Randall, Daniel Anthony Wright, Patricia Ann Sisco Ingles Bright, Thomas Wayne Sisco and wife, Sue, Carol Sisco Silva and husband, Mike, Michael Sisco, Debbie Sisco Mero and husband, William, Terry Sisco and wife, Jane, Joel Clifton Rush and wife, Allison Slavid, Meleah Ann Rush and husband, David Constance Powers; 19 great-grandchildren, Jessica Dorsett Kelly and husband, Kevin, Robin Dorsett Fisher and husband, Tony, Jason Snider, Earle Houston Hunt IV, Kelly Ingles Grant and husband, Brian, Eric Ingles, Jessica Sisco Akjeje and husband, Abi, Cody Sisco, Teddy Mero, William Mero, Jimmy Mero, Bryan Sisco, Jacob Sisco, Garrett Silva, Athena Sisco, Breann Sisco, Benjamin Michael Wright, Elizabeth Ann Wright (pending Baby Rush-Joel and Ali); and four great-great-grandchildren, Jack Kelly, Kate Kelly, Teagan Fisher and Megan Grant.

Services will be held Monday, Jan. 31, at 11 a.m. at Goddard United Methodist Church, 1922 Dodson in Fort Smith, with the Revs. Ed Wyers and Kim Kelton Cloniger officiating. Interment will be at Forest Park cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Alfred S. Wright, Scott Wright, Clifton F. Rush, Joel Rush, Earle H. Hunt and Houston Hunt.

Janie Cardin
Janie Cardin, 61, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, in Fort Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, CoyVincent Cardin Sr.; and son, CoyVincent Cardin Jr. She was retired from the restaurant business after many years and was of the Church of Christ faith. She was a graduate of Northside High School.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. today at Fentress Mortuary Chapel with burial at Oak cemetery under the direction of Fentress Mortuary.
She is survived by two daughters, Marlene Cardin of Wagoner, Okla., and Denise Cardin of Mission Viejo, Calif.; five grandchildren, Fallon Denton of Porter, Okla., Nicholas White of Van Buren, Taylor, Devon and Sarah Hakala of Mission Viejo, Calif.; and two great-grandchildren, Rhilee and Collin Denton of Porter, Okla.
Carolyn Sells
Carolyn Sells, age 39, of Norman died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005.
She was born on Feb. 25, 1965, at El Dorado, Okla., the daughter of Bud Carpenter and Jo Ella Hall Carpenter. On Oct. 18, 1991, she was married
to Kenny Sells. She was preceded in death by her father.
She was a member of the Norman First Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Kenny Sells of Norman; one son, John Sells of Norman; two daughters and one son-in-law, Autumn and Brian Fitzgerald of Seattle, and Holly Sells of Glenwood; her mother, Jo Carpenter of Y City; one brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Lori Carpenter of Waldron; one grandson, Evan Tidwell of Glenwood; and one nephew, Chad Carpenter of Waldron.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Wills and the Rev. Ray Carpenter officiating.
Interment will be at Black Springs cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
Visitation will be today from 1 to 2 p.m. before the service.

Mary Elizabeth Earnhart
Mary Elizabeth Earnhart, 83, passed away Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, in a Burbank, Calif., hospital from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. She and her husband, former state Sen. Milt Earnhart, had been on an extended visit with their daughter and granddaughter.
Mary was born Oct. 20, 1921, in Cincinnati. After graduating from Mount St. Joseph’s Academy, she attended dancing classes with Doris Day, Vera Ellen and others. She did professional acting while attending Shuster-Martin School of Drama, where she won a Tyrone Power scholarship. She then appeared with Mr. Power on Kate Smith’s radio network program. Mary met her future husband at Shuster-Martin in 1939 and they married
in June 1943 during Milt’s Army service at nearby Camp Crowder.
In May 1950, Mary, Milt, their children and Mary’s parents, Edward and Julia Robben, moved to Fort Smith. Mary was very active in the community as a kindergarten teacher, Brownie and Girl Scout leader and in little theater, acting and behind the scenes. At a recent ceremony, Mayor Ray Baker presented Mary with an honorary proclamation recognizing her work as a director for the Children’s Theatre.
Her husband Milt, daughter Ann Rifat of Hollywood, Calif., sons Tom of Fort Smith and David of Laughlin, Nev., grandchildren Rachel and Matthew Rifat, Kristen Wilkerson, Bryan Earnhart and Shannon Wells, and four great-grandchildren survive her.
Rosary will be said on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith.
Mass wil be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church in Fort Smith. Burial will be at Holy Cross cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Christ the King Catholic Church, 1920 S. Carlton “Buck” McKneely Flowers
Carlton “Buck” McKneely Flowers, age 76, of Poplar Springs Road, Gainesville, Ga., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, at Lanier Park Campus following a brief illness.
Private graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Crook officiating under the direction of Memorial Park cemetery of Gainesville.
Mr. Flowers was born in Whitfield County, Ga., to the late Charles P. and Thelma McKneely Flowers. He was retired from the poultry industry and he served in the Navy. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dalton, Ga.
Survivors include his wife, Ermadine Collins Flowers, of Gainesville; daughter, Cynthia L. Flowers of Tampa, Fla.; daughters and sons-in-law, Celia Merritt Flowers and husband Jim of Searcy, Karlene L. Schatz and husband Tom of Garfield, Lucy and Jeremy Gravitt of Cumming, Ga., and Kathleen and Tim Douglas of Gainesville; son, Charles Augustus Flowers of Gainesville; grandchildren, Brian Frost, Shawna Trolinger, Robert Merritt, Riley, Reagan and Radison Gravitt and Tyler Nathaniel Douglas; great-grandchild, Maycee Trolinger; sister, Charlotte Smith of Gainesville; and uncle, Harold Flowers of Belvedere, S.C.

Gladys Marie “Aunt Rea” Byrd
Gladys Marie “Aunt Rea” Byrd, 90, of Fort Smith died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was a homemaker and the widow of Verl Byrd. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Cletus Clark, and two sisters, Bertha Pierce and Gertha David.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Douglass cemetery in Jenny Lind under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
She is survived by three sisters, Violet Hart, Berniece Tomlin and Goldie Dugan, all of Jenny Lind; and numerous nieces and nephews.
