Betty L. Kirkpatrick
Betty L. Kirkpatrick, 79, of Temple, Texas, formerly of Fort Smith, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2005, in Temple. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Pi Beta Phi sorority. She was the past president of the Sparks Auxiliary. She was a graduate of Lindenwood College and the University of Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Hoyt “Pete” Kirkpatrick Jr.
Memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2005, at First Presbyterian Church with a private committal at Forest Park cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by one daughter, Terry Kirkpatrick and her husband Rafael Guzman of Long Boat Key, Fla.; four sons, Michael and his wife Pat of Temple, Neal and his wife Rosemary of Tulsa, Dennis and his wife Katherine of Manhattan Beach, Calif., and Kelly and his wife Pam Kirkpatrick of Dallas; eight grandchildren, Mary Margaret Kirkpatrick of Tulsa, Casey Kirkpatrick of Manhattan Beach, Sean Kirkpatrick of Dallas, Kate and her husband Ryan Fulton of Seattle, Kerrie and her husband David Thompson of Tulsa, David Hoyt Kirkpatrick of Temple, Emma Louise Kirkpatrick of Surat Thani, Thailand, and Molly Kirkpatrick of Londonderry, Northern Ireland; two step-grandchildren, Elizabeth Guzman Harris of Ijamsville, Md., and Kathleen Guzman and her husband William Foster of Norman, Okla.; two great-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Neal and Ruby Ruth Rhodes, and a brother, Charles Rhodes.
Family will visit with friends Wednesday afternoon from 5 to 7 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home.

Gladys Raye Smith
Gladys Raye Smith, 66, of Fort Smith died Sunday, March 6, 2005, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Smith; one daughter, Joyce Dianne Smith; one son, Joseph Smith; both of her parents, Earnest and Myrtle Rush Cameron; one sister, Jackie Wambsgans; and one brother, Lloyd Cameron.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gill cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Smith and Deborah Ruffner, both of Fort Smith; two sons, John Smith of Van Buren and Jerry Smith of Fort Smith; eight sisters, Mary Whatley of Dora, Virginia Runion of Bethalto, Ill., Betty Mann and Darlene Johnson, both of Van Buren, Shirley Watkins and Linda Preston, both of Mountainburg, and Cathy Hall and Vickie Jones, both of Fort Smith; three brothers, Floyd Cameron of Mountainburg, Don Cameron of Texas and Billy Cameron of Dora; four grandchildren, James, Laura, Timothy and Tiffany; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chris, Glenn, James and Doug Cameron, Mark Chamberlain and James Hampton.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, 700 Jefferson in Van Buren.

Royal T. Coker
Royal T. Coker, age 75, of Fort Smith passed away Sunday, March 6, 2005. He was a sergeant in the Marine Corps, retired from the Champion Box Co. in 1984 and then retired from Cavanaugh Grade School in 1995. He graduated from Westark College in 1954. Mr. Coker’s hobbies included working on cars and making small furniture in his woodworking shop. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellie and Euthel Coker.
Services will be Wednesday, March 9, at noon at Fentress Mortuary Chapel with burial at U.S. National cemetery under the direction of Fentress Mortuary.
Mr. Coker is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nina of the home; his daughter, Cindy Ragan of Grand Lake, Okla.; three sons, Grant, Keith and Mark Coker, all of Fort Smith; his mother-in-law, Ann Furr of Fort Smith; three sisters, Dorothy Louise Clark of Panama, Velta Hunter of Bokoshe, and Gayle Matlock of Keota, Okla.; one brother, Loyal D. Coker of Haskell, Okla.; one brother-in-law, Albert Slawson of Hackett; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Bain, Michael Bain, Matt Coker, Ethan Coker, Zac Coker and Bill Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Coker and Mike Parks.

El Wanda Billingsley
El Wanda Reaves Billingsley, 78, of Fort Smith died Friday, March 4, 2005, in Fort Smith. She was born Sept. 1, 1926, in Sentinel, Okla. She was a homemaker, a businesswoman, a member of First United Methodist Church of Fort Smith, a 1944 graduate of Sentinel High School and a 1948 graduate of Oklahoma A&M University.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Sentinel cemetery in Sentinel with local arrangements under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by two sons, Rogger Billingsley of Roland and Michael Billingsley of Cordova, Tenn.; a brother, R.L. Reaves of Sentinel; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Harold Stafford
CHARLESTON — Harold A. Stafford, 81, of Charleston died Saturday, March 5, 2005. He was born Oct. 17, 1923, in Detroit. He was a retired truck driver, a member of the First United Methodist Church in Charleston, an Army veteran of World War II, UCT, and a board member of the Franklin County Senior Citizens.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Charleston with burial at the U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith. Local arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Dortha; a daughter, Sherry Franklin of Ozark; a son, Danny Stafford of Muskogee, Okla.; three sisters, Dorothy Kelner and Jamie Johnson, both of Michigan, and Maxine Lull of South Carolina; two brothers, Doug and Don Stafford, both of Michigan; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bud Lowery, Kevin Capps, Victor Blaylock, Fred and Kriss Shaffer and Randy Light.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Irwin Hedge
WICKES — Irwin Hedge, 89, of Wickes died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, in DeQueen. He was born May 23, 1915, in Wickes. He was a well driller and the widower of Mary Hedge.
The body was sent for cremation under the direction of Hall Funeral Service of Mena.
He is survived by four daughters, Shirley Shirley of Georgia, and Deloris Heck, Melba Lindsey, and Phyllis DeLeo, all of California; a brother, William Hedge of Wickes; and 20 grandchildren.
Laurie Flaherty
MENA — Laurie L. Flaherty, 53, of Mena, formerly of Spring Valley, Ill., died Saturday, March 5, 2005, in Mena. She was born Oct. 31, 1951, in Winslow, Ill. She was a deli worker in a supermarket and of the Catholic faith.
Graveside service was held Monday at Sexton cemetery under the direction of Hall Funeral Service of Mena.
She is survived by her husband, Dan; stepmother, Frances Belcher of Spring Valley; four sisters, Mary Belcher and Patricia Rush, both of Spring Valley, Rose Hansen of La Salle, Ill., and Catherine Brnat of Seatonville, Ill.; and two brothers, Kevin Belcher of Lancaster, Texas, and John Belcher of Normal, Ill.
Elner Land
WALDRON — Elner J. Land, 92, of Waldron, formerly of Riverside, Calif., died Sunday, March 6, 2005, in Waldron. She was a retired bookkeeper in the restaurant industry and the widow of George Land.
Memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron.
She is survived by a sister, Evelyn Miller of California.

OZONE — Kenneth Dale McGuire, 44, of Ozone died Monday, March 7, 2005, in Ozone.
Graveside service will be 4 p.m. today at Patterson Springs cemetery in Oark under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville.
He is survived by a son, Josiah McGuire of Bald Knob; his mother, Velvia McGuire of Oark; three sisters, Anita Stutzman of Oark, Nadine Killpatrick of Fayetteville, and Carolyne Bishop of Batesville; four brothers, Rual, Lester and Gary McGuire, all of Oark, and Avery McGuire of Pettigrew.
Glenn Webb
GALLATIN, Tenn. — Glenn W. Webb, 79, of Gallatin died Saturday, March 5, 2005, in Gallatin. He was born July 15, 1925, in St. Francis County. He was a retired schoolteacher and principal, worked for 15 years with the Department of the Interior with the Job Corps program, was a salesman for Cunningham-Nelson Chevrolet in Ozark, was a World War II veteran having served from 1942 to 1945 in North Africa and Europe and fought in the Battle of the Bulge, and was the widower of Helen Webb.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Highland cemetery in Ozark under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; a daughter, Janet Procell of Fort Smith; three sons, Steve Webb of Boise, Idaho, Gary Webb of Forks, Wash., and Larry Webb of Van Buren; and 10 grandchildren.
Katie White
Katie Mae White, 81, of Van Buren died Saturday, March 5, 2005, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Cedarville.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at First Baptist Church in Cedarville with burial at Hill cemetery in Natural Dam under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by her husband, James; a daughter, Karen Martin of Van Buren; a son, Herman White of Sallisaw; a sister, Iva Johnson of Indiana; two brothers, Raymond and Clarence Bennett, both of California; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Paul Bowlin
Paul Wallace Bowlin, 77, of Fort Smith, formerly of Mulberry, died Saturday, March 5, 2005, in his home. He was a retired farmer, a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church, the Crawford County Farm Bureau and the Oklahoma Soy Bean Association, and a former member of the board of directors of the Arkansas Farm Bureau.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at New cemetery in Mulberry.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; a son, Mark Bowlin of Orlando, Fla.; three sisters, Betty Yeager of Victor, Calif., Ruth Perrier of Mulberry, and Mildred McCormick of Fort Smith; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Joe Kirksey, Clay and Cliff Warnock, Jim McCormick, Paul Perrier and Rick and Anthony Mazzeo.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Henry Oliver Sunday school class.

Julie Huggins, 47, of Fort Smith died Saturday, March 5, 2005, in Fort Smith. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Fort Smith, a den mother for the Boy Scouts and a homemaker.

LAVACA — Blanche R. Caton, 85, of Lavaca died Sunday, March 6, 2005, in Fort Smith. She was born Jan. 30, 1920, in Arbuckle Island. She was a member of the Central Free Will Baptist Church and the Lavaca Senior Citizens Center and the widow of Loyd Caton.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Smith Mortuary Chapel in Charleston with burial at Garden of Memories in Charleston.
