Bessie Louise McFadden
Bessie Louise McFadden, 77, of Rudy was promoted to glory Tuesday, March 15, 2005. She was born Dec. 22, 1927, in Pocola. Mrs. McFadden served faithfully for more than 50 years in the ministry alongside her husband as they evangelized and later were pastors with the Pentecostal Church of God. She was co-founder and charter member of Victory Temple Pentecostal Church of God in Van Buren. In earlier years, Mrs. McFadden has been the med nurse for Haven O’Rest and Brownwood Manor Nursing Homes.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 18, at Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren with burial at Morrison cemetery in Rudy. The Revs. John Davis, Billy Dunahoo, Edwina Kidd, Paul Dougan, and General Bishop Phil Redding will officiate.
She is survived by her husband, Samuel Acie; four daughters, Judy Louise and son-in-law Mick Darden, Sandra Camellia and son-in-law Ray Dyer of Rudy, Gaylia Diane and son-in-law Curtis Richardson of Alma, and Elizabeth Ann Stallings, also of Rudy; one sister, Algie Nell Smith and brother-in-law John D. Smith of Greenwood; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Matthew and Zachary Darden, Chris and Sam Dyer, Sean Richardson, Jason and Joshua Stallings.
The family will visit with friends at Ocker Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Paul Hunter Hevener Sr.
Paul Hunter Hevener Sr., 85, of Fort Smith died Saturday, March 12, 2005, in his home. He was born April 12, 1919, in Durbin, W.Va. A member of Hevener Church of the Brethren in Durbin. He served in the Army where he received the World War II Victory Medal. He was a retired private investigator who worked for the federal government all over the United States. He was a kind, generous person who was always wanting to help people. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Rozella Hevener; both of his parents, John and Elva Calhoun Hevener; two sisters, May Towes and Martha Houchin; a brother, Charles Hevener. He was a member of TopCops, the National Association of Police Organization, the Ronald Reagan Foundation, the Federation of Police Organization and the National Republican Presidential Task Force. He was known to family and friends as a worldwide famous joker, which he was proud of.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2005, at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by a daughter, Iris Bull of Fort Smith; five sons, Paul Hevener of Walla Walla, Wash., Dale Hevener of Visalia, Calif., Joseph Hevener of Exeter, Calif., Steven Hevener of Mountainburg, and Roy Hevener of Rogers; a sister, Ruth Hamilton of Lititz, Pa.; a brother, John Hevener of Lititz, Pa.; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 19 nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Roy Hevener, Annette Rotta, Billy Bull Sr., Billy Bull Jr., Charles Rotta and Mark Douglas.
The family will visit with friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, 700 Jefferson in Van Buren.

Patrick G. Manning
On Tuesday, March 15, 2005, Patrick G. Manning passed away from complications from a car accident on Feb. 9, 2005. His family would like to thank all of his many friends for their support and love during his illness.
Patrick was born in Alix on Oct. 17, 1921, to Pearl and Frank Manning. He was one of 10 children in the Manning family. Patrick served in the Navy as a Seabee during World War II, returning to Spiro. He married Mary Baker Manning and they had two children, Patrick G. Manning Jr. and Marilynn A. Manning. Shortly after leaving the Navy, Pat went to work for Public Service Co. of Oklahoma, where he found a multitude of friends over 38 years he worked there. Many people in Rogers County met Pat through his second career as a Realtor for over 20 years. Pat always had a joke and a smile, a kind word or deed for everyone he met. Pat frequently returned to Spiro for class reunions and get-togethers with his many friends and family there.
He is survived by his daughter, Marilynn A. Manning of Pryor, Okla.; his sister, Mary B. Cox of Spiro; his grandchildren, Seana Stacey Jane Hale and J. Patrick Michael Manning of Alexandria, Va., and Sean William Nicholas Manning of Broken Arrow, Okla., their mother, Janie Manning Duffey of Broken Arrow, Okla.; his great-grandson, Beckett Carl Patrick Hale of Alexandra, Va.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his son, Patrick Gerald Manning Jr.; his brothers, Carl Manning, Lorraine Burk, Percy Manning, Richard Manning, Jack Manning, Fay Manning, Bill Manning, and Joe Bob Manning.
His close and longtime friends are too numerous to list but those who were like his own family include his sweetheart, Dorothy Burchett, Scott Canfield, Vic Nichols, Zab Woods, Woody Crowson, Jim Keith, Jim Hill, the many members of the Oologah Donut Breakfast Club, the Public Service Retirees Luncheons, and many more golfing, fishing, and hunting buddies.
Few people can have had such a great impact on so many in such a short life as Patrick Manning did. His spirit and love on this earth will be truly missed.
Funeral service will be 4 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Oologah, Okla., with interment at 1 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2005, at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Oologah Funeral Home of Oologah.

Kim Douglas
Kim Douglas, 46, of Fort Smith passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2005, in Fort Smith. She was an artist.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2005, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
She is survived by her husband, Mark of the home; one daughter, McKenzie Douglas of the home; one son, Caleb Douglas of Fort Smith; her parents, Ned and Sydney Harper of Fort Smith; one sister, Mandee Heim of Fort Smith; and one brother, Bert Harper of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Steve Heim, Greg Heim, Eric Heim, Drew Heim, Matthew Heim and Vernon “Corky” College.
Family will visit with friends today from 6 to 7 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gregory Kistler Center, 3304 S. M St., Fort Smith, AR 72903.

John Mitchell Jr.
COVE — John Christopher Mitchell Jr., 59, of Cove died Monday, March 14, 2005, in his home. He was born May 29, 1945, in Little Rock. He was a veteran of the Air Force and an artist.
The body will be cremated under the direction of Hall Funeral Service of Mena. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. today at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Fayetteville.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; a sister, Margaret Thomas of Vero Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Jett and Richard Mitchell of Little Rock; his stepmother, Hutoka Mitchell of Little Rock; stepchildren, Lenore England, Ericka Bowen, Jennifer Sims and Greg Meisch of Fayetteville, and Valorie Shue of North Little Rock; and three grandchildren.

Mary Despain
ATHENS — Mary Nell Despain, 80, of Athens died Monday, March 14, 2005, in Texarkana, Texas. She was born May 3, 1924, in Athens. She was a homemaker, a Christian and the widow of Ireland Despain.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Mount Zion Church in Athens with burial at Athens cemetery under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
She is survived by three daughters, Kathy Taranto of Mena, Karen Gardner of Athens, and Renda Cogburn of Nashville; two brothers, Shirley Simon of Mena and Fay Simon of Van Buren; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be David Bohn, Brian Cogburn, Cody Gardner, Scott Kesterson, Greg Simon and Tony Porter.

Ronnie Russell
MULBERRY — Ronnie Russell, 60, of Mulberry died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, in his home. He was a groundskeeper for Van Buren School System and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Van Buren.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Gill cemetery Arbor in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Gwendean; a daughter, Rhonda Taber of Van Buren; two sons, Forest Russell of Van Buren and Michael Russell of Tampa, Fla.; his parents, Faye and Virgil Russell of Van Buren; four sisters, Lynda Prescott of Pocola, Judy Shelton, Karen Horn and Kathy McDowell, all of Van Buren; a brother, Jerry Russell of Van Buren; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Nannie McDonald
MENA — Nannie Marie McDonald, 84, of Mena died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, in Mena. She was born April 21, 1920, in Blevins. She was a homemaker, of the Baptist faith, and the widow of Dale McDonald.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church in Mena with burial at Nubbin Hill cemetery in Prescott under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
She is survived by a daughter, Nanette Willis; two sons, Jimmy and Ronny McDonald; two sisters, Lucille Smith and Ailene Pickens; five brothers, Add, Roy, Ruff, Guy and Luke Nivens; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Susan Walsh
CECIL — Susan A. Walsh, 54, of Cecil died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, in her home. She was born Jan. 15, 1951, in Bethseda, Md. She was a service manager for Pinnacle Airlines.
Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Lavaca.
She is survived by her husband, Kermit; a daughter, Ashley Hendricks of Fort Smith; three sons, Jesse, Michael and Robert Tate, all of Fort Smith; four sisters, Jane McGuire of Florham Park, N.J., Kathy Byerly and Margaret Skaggs, both of Geneva, Ohio, and Alice Putzer of Baldwinsville, N.Y.; and a brother, Jim Niederer of Madison, Ohio.

Evelyn Hill
MOUNTAINBURG — Evelyn Irene Sisson Hill, 60, of Mountainburg died Sunday, March 13, 2005. She was an attorney of 33 years, founder-owner of Nationwide Traffic Ticket Services for the last 13 years, and a member of First Baptist Church of Mountainburg.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Mountainburg Presbyterian Church with burial at Vaught cemetery in Mountainburg under the direction of Fentress Mortuary.
She is survived by her husband, Sherman; a daughter, Kelly Hill of Hot Springs National Park; a son, Charley Hill of Mountainburg; her mother, Dorthey Sisson of Blackwell; a sister, Sharon Beck of Blackwell; a brother, Robert Sisson of Phoenix; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at Mountainburg Presbyterian Church prior to the service. Also, family will visit with friends from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Charline Searcy
HEAVENER — Charline Searcy, 88, of Heavener, formerly of McAlester, Okla., died Wednesday, March 16, 2005, in Heavener.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Ellis Chapel cemetery in Wister under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
She is survived by a sister, Nan Smith of Howe.

Brian Mosley
WALDRON — Brian “Hoss” Mosley, 20, of Waldron died Monday, March 14, 2005, in a Fort Smith hospital.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at Waldron Pentecostal Church of God with burial at Square Rock cemetery in Waldron under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Missy and Ronnie Carpenter of Waldron; his father, Sammy Mosley of Anchorage, Alaska; a sister, Bridget Mosley of Waldron; a brother, Bryce Carpenter of Waldron; a stepsister, Amber McEntire of Abbott; a stepbrother, Cody Mosley of Anchorage; maternal grandparents, Norma and Leslie McKay of Sandown, Texas; paternal grandparents, Dorthy and Paul Wagoner of Las Crusis, N.M.; stepgrandparents, Walter and Joann Carpenter of Waldron; and maternal great-grandmother Etoy Mitchell of Levelland, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Omar Gonzales, J.D. Woodcock, Adlfo Silva, Moe Shores, Sean Searney and Brandon Chesnut.
The body may be viewed 2 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Frances Kelone
BARLING — Frances Kelone, 85, of Barling died Wednesday, March 16, 2005, in Barling. She was a homemaker, a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel for 65 years and a member of Our Lady of Fatima in Benton. She was the widow of Joe Kelone.
Rosary will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at McCauley Convent Chapel in Barling with Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Calvary cemetery in Little Rock under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by four daughters, Reba Venezia of Foster City, Calif., Sister Teresa Kelone RSM of Hot Springs, Jane Conard of Clarksville, Tenn., and Marilyn Ellis of Mena; a sister, Dorothy Gale of Oakland, Calif.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
