Dorothy Lovellette

POCAHONTAS -- Dorothy Charline Lovellette, 88, of Pocahontas died Sunday, Oct. 30, at Randolph County Medical Center.

Born in Evadale, she was a homemaker.

Survivors include a brother, Jack Milligan of Shreveport, La., and a sister, Mildred Allen of Warner Robins, Ga.

She was preceded in death by a son, William Green; three brothers; and two sisters.

Graveside services will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. at McNabb Funeral Home in Pocahontas.

George A. Mauldin

NEWPORT -- George A. Mauldin Jr., 82, of Newport died here Sunday, Oct. 30.

Survivors include a son, Gerald Mauldin of Newport; a daughter, Virginia Norris of Newport; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Virginia Mauldin; his parents, George A. Mauldin Sr. and Icie Mauldin; two sons, George Edward Mauldin and Carl Dean Mauldin; and a daughter, Linda Diana Mauldin.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. Jackson's Newport Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Willis Jewel McCollum

GREERS FERRY -- Willis Jewel McCollum, 64, of Greers Ferry died Saturday, Oct. 29.

Survivors include his wife, Rose Cambron McCollum of Greers Ferry; a son, Willis Bradley McCollum of Jonesboro; his mother, Birtha McCollum Perrin of Corning; five brothers, Roy McCollum, William McCollum, Jerry McCollum, Larry McCollum and Bill McCollum; six sisters, Erma Dickerson, Nettie Allen, Geneva Cobbs, Roberta Braden, Alice McFarlin and Shirley Leach; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at Brownsville Baptist Church in Heber Springs.

Burial will be in Brownsville Cemetery by Olmstead Funeral Home, Heber Springs.

Jackie Lynn McDoniel

CAMDEN -- Mr. Jackie Lynn McDoniel, 57, of Camden, formerly of Newark, died Friday, Oct. 29, in Little Rock, after a courageous battle with melanoma cancer. He was born in Batesville, the son of B.F. and Lucy McDoniel.

Mr. McDoniel graduated from Newark High School in 1965 and earned a bachelor of science degree from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. He was a certified public accountant and member of the AICPA. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1967 and spent the next four years in Peru, Ind.

For 28 years Mr. McDoniel was the controller at Anthony Timberlands in Bearden and was an auditor for the Bank of Bearden. He was a member of the Cullendale First Baptist Church in Camden, a member of the choir and was on the Stewardship Committee. He was a guitarist and had played in a small band. Mr. McDoniel lived life to the fullest and without regrets.

He was preceded in death by his father, B.F. McDoniel, and one sister, Terri Fick.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sue McDoniel of Camden; his daughter, Shannon Berry, and husband, David of Cincinnati, Ohio; his mother, Lucy McDoniel of Newark; a brother, Noel McDoniel of Dallas; and a sister, Linda Marshall of Little Rock.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Blue Springs Cemetery in Newark. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at Jackson's Newark Funeral Home.

Harvey Mercer

NEWPORT -- Mr. Harvey Mercer, 58, of Newport was born Feb. 13, 1947, in Harrisburg. The son of Orville and Ruby Mercer, he passed from this life on Sunday, Oct. 30, in Searcy.

Mr. Mercer is survived by his wife, Diane Mercer of Missouri; two sons, Calvin Mercer of Illinois and Jerry Mercer of Wilson; one grandchild, Amanda Mercer of Batesville; and five brothers.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Watson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dillinger Funeral Home.

Zelma Parks

JONESBORO -- Zelma Parks, 85, of Jonesboro died Sunday, Oct. 30, at her residence.

Born in Lawrence County, she lived in Jonesboro over 60 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Jonesboro Worship Center.

Survivors include two sisters, Arzella Letner of Jonesboro and Arlene McGonigal of Alicia; one brother, Orville Baney of Harrisburg, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Parks; her parents, Charlie and Martha Keaton Baney; five brothers, Johnny Baney, Vester Baney, Kenneth Baney, Laverne Baney and Leamon Baney; and one sister, Edith Carter.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Jonesboro Worship Center with the Rev. Scott Voss and the Rev. Jack Peveler officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery near Brookland.

Pallbearers will be Dale Letner, James Baney, Gary McGonigal, Stephan Letner, Ronnie Letner and Jeremy Peveler.

Visitation will be from 5--7 p.m. Tuesday at Gregg Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

Kathryn Rasdon

TRUMANN -- Funeral services for Kathryn Craig Rasdon, 70, of Trumann will be at 1:30 p.m. today in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with the Rev. Gary Brown and the Rev. Don Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gary Craig, Michael Craig, Randy Craig, Joey Craig, Michael White, Steven White and David McCallister.

Rexal Williams

SALEM -- Rexal Williams, 80, of Salem died Saturday, Oct. 29, at West Plains, Mo.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, at Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem. Interment will be in Hebron Cemetery in Mitchell under direction of Barker Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9:30-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Survivors are his wife, Pauline; daughters, Christine Billings and Judy Martineau; brothers, Devoe, Duane, and Max Williams; sisters, Lucille Wist and Sharon Williams; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Richard Burress

TYRONZA -- Richard E. Burress, 67, of Tyronza died Nov. 4 at his residence.

He was an Army veteran and a member of First Baptist Church in Tyronza.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Burress; his son, Gregory Fleming; two sisters, Opal Linley and Vickie Baney; his brother, Frankie Cavitt; and a grandchild, Barry Fleming.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Tyronza First Baptist Church with Raymond Routon officiating. Burial will be in Mississippi County Memorial Gardens in Osceola.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. today at Roller-Citizen's Funeral Home in West Memphis.

Shirley Pauline Guthrie

CORNING -- Shirley Pauline Guthrie was born March 9, 1932 in Biggers, the daughter of Virgil Moore and Ardell Harris Moore.

She departed this life Friday, Nov. 4, at the age of 73 years, 7 months and 26 days.

Shirley Pauline Moore was united in marriage to Edward H. Guthrie on Nov. 26, 1946. He preceded her in death on March 20, 1993.

Survivors include six sons, Charles "Chuck" Guthrie and Gale Guthrie, both of Corning, Kenneth Guthrie of Ocala, Fla., David Guthrie of Mississippi, Ben Guthrie of Cotter and Glenn Guthrie of Tallahassee, Fla.; a daughter, Frances Goodrich of West Plaines, Mo.; two brothers, Dee Moore of Rector and Randal Moore of West Virginia; a sister, Norma Glass of Hot Springs; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Bobbie Horton

PARAGOULD -- Bobbie Horton, 86, of Paragould died Friday, Nov. 4, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 6, 1919, in Greene County and was a former country store owner and a member of Clark's Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Billy Mac Stricklin; a sister, Maxine Fletcher; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, all of Paragould.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Finch Baptist Church, with Wilburn Griggs officiating. Burial will follow in Finch Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:30-9 p.m. today at Mitchell Funeral Home.
