Bonnie Savannah

Bonnie Darlene Hill Savannah, 47, of Sherwood died Tuesday, July 11.

She I survived by her stepdaughters, Shassity Savannah, Cassity McJoy and Krytal Besely; special child Marquel White; sisters De-Ann Scott, Wonace Glenn, Glenda Garry and Rydell Battles; and brother Charles Baker Sr.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 15, at St. Luke Baptist Church.

Delmira G. Stuenkel

Delmira Guajardo Stuenkel, 65, of Sherwood died Tuesday, July 11. She was a member of Mercy Cross Church.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur Stuenkel; son James Dale Sullivan; daughters Angela Kaye Person and Donna Marie Inman; stepsons Brian and Ben Stuenkel; brothers Johnny, Alex and Larry Guajardo; sisters Mamie Wohner, Millie Carrion, Angela Helen Dandridge and Chelo Pettit; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 15, at Mercy Cross.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Mercy Cross Food Pantry.

Sissy Lloyd-Evans

Sissy Nicole Lloyd-Evans, infant daughter of Waunina Lloyd and Isaac Evans of Sherwood, died Friday, July 14.

A family graveside service was held.

Joe Charles Conley

Joe Charles Conley, 63, of Sherwood died Friday, July 14. He was a member of St. Stephens Baptist Church in North Little Rock.

He is survived by his wife, Juana Jean Conley of Sherwood; children Cozette, Shanna and Charles Conley of North Little Rock, and Ronnie Joe Benson of Little Rock; stepdaughter Darline Riddick; brother Horace Conley of North Little Rock; sisters the Rev. Patsy A. Wright of Sherwood, Lois Jean and Mary Dean Conley of North Little Rock, and Ada Gatewood of Little Rock; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Thursday, July 20, at St. Stephens Baptist Church.

Lyndon J. Broach

Lyndon Junior Broach, 82, of Sherwood died Sunday, July 16. He was a World War II veteran of the Merchant Marines, a retired office technician and a member of the Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lorraine; daughters Debbie McClane of Fayetteville and Susan Crowder of Burlington, Ky.; sister Dean Shaw of Little Rock; brother Bobby Broach of Conway; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 19, at the Huson Funeral Home chapel in Sherwood. Interment followed at Arkansas State Veterans cemetery in North Little Rock.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Memphis School for Preaching, c/o Director Curtis Cates, 3950 Forest Hill Irene Road, Memphis, Tenn. 38125-2560.

Mary G. G. Barron

Mary Gwendolyn Garr Barron, 79, of North Little Rock died Monday, July 17. She was a longtime member of Lakewood United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her sons, Dr. Stephen Thomas Barron of Knoxville, Tenn., Dr. William Garr Barron of Russellville, and James Harold Barron of Brazona, Texas; daughter Mary Ann Barron of Sherwood; brother Larry Garr of North Little Rock; and eight grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 21, at Lakewood United Methodist Church. The family will receive visitors at the church following the service.

The family requests that memorials be made to The Shriners Hospital in Houston, Texas.

Clyde E. McMoran

Clyde Edward “Ed” McMoran, 85, of Greenbrier died Sunday, July 16. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, retired from Ward Body Works and a member of First Assembly of God Church in Conway.

He is survived by his daughters, Edna Maxine Coble of Greenbrier, and Regina West of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; son Clyde M. McMoran of Greenbrier; brother Jim McMoran of Sherwood; sisters Opal Lind and Mae Richards, both of North Little Rock, and Martha Barr of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 21, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, with the Rev. Mark Glover of Guy and the Rev. DeWayne Richards of Crystal Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley cemetery in Wooster.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 20, at the funeral home.

Gabriele Mayes-Luebke

Gabriele Ann Mayes-Luebke, 30, of Springdale died Tuesday, July 18. She had recently moved from DeWitt, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sherwood.

Survivors include her parents, Billy Jack and Valerie Stevanna Taylor Mayes of Springdale; stepdaughters Cheyenne and Ciarra Luebke, both of Booneville; brother Mark Mayes of Los Angeles; maternal grandmother Virginia Taylor of Norman, Okla.; and paternal grandmother Weltha Mayes of Springdale.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 22, at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale with Dr. Scott Hinton officiating. Burial arrangements were by cremation.

Mary Ruth Wilson

Mary Ruth Wilson, 81, of Jonesboro, formerly of Walnut Ridge, died April 3, 2004, at Craighead County Nursing Center in Jonesboro.

Born Nov. 15, 1922, at Black Oak, she was the daughter of William Lewis and Donna Bell Moore Vaughn. She was the owner and operator of The Beauty Clinic in Walnut Ridge for 13 years. She was active in the Home Extension Club, the 4-H Club and was a Sunday school teacher. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Egypt.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ward Wilson; a daughter, Pat Lambie; two brothers, William "Shorty" Vaughn, and R.D. Vaughn; and a sister, Bunnes Montgomery.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Poe, Jonesboro; three brothers, Marvin Vaughn and Carlton Vaughn, both of Egypt, and L.E. Vaughn, Ash Flat; three sisters, Essie Phipps, Egypt, Imogene Johnson, Hoxie, and Betty Lou Statler, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; four grandchildren, Brandon Ward Lambie, Kristin Lee Tankersley, Rodney Wilson Poe and Ramie Shay Thompson; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Roller-Farmers Union Chapel with Rev. Emil Williams officiating. Burial was in Jonesboro Memorial Park cemetery under the direction of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Pallbearers were Jeff Vaughn, Darrell Vaughn, Danny Vaughn, Wesley Cogburn, Tony Vaughn and Shawn Vaughn. Honorary pallbearers were Ray Phipps, Jerry Phipps, Curt Montgomery, Gail Arnold, Ronnie Wilson, Sherry McQuay, Kerry Dalton, Jennifer Dacus, Diane Fort and Thelma Becker.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Barbara Jean Henry

Barbara Jean Henry, 71, of Walnut Ridge, died May 26, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Barbara Jean Henry was born Sept. 24, 1932, in Alicia. She was a homemaker and was a friend and servant to all who knew her. She was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ. She devoted her life to her Lord, her family, and many in this community in their time of need. She worked her whole life for this moment when she would receive her heavenly reward.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Lynn; a son, Jake E. Henry Jr.; and her parents, John and Anna Belle Stephens Riddle.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Jake Henry Sr., of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Collece Henry of Walnut Ridge; one daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Daniel Dobbs of West Monroe, La.; grandchildren, Johnathan, Debra and Matthew Dobbs, and Aqualah and Amanda Henry; two precious great-grandkids, Celeste and Jacob Dobbs; one sister ? a dear friend ? Libby Weir and her family of Hernando, Miss.

Funeral was Saturday at 2 p.m. at Main Street Church of Christ with John Paul Morgan and Johnathan Dobbs officiating. Burial was in Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Johnathan Dobbs, Matthew Dobbs, Simon Weir III, Michael Johnson, Franklin Mac Williams and Jim Ed House. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Sebastian Spades and Robert Rice.

Rev. Charles Purdie

Rev. Charles A. Purdie, 79, of Sherwood, former Pastor of Mt. Arratt Baptist Church in Beebe and New Hope Baptist Church of Little Rock, died Jan. 16, 2006.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Luetta; adopted son, Melvin Shaw; and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Sat., Jan. 21, at 11 a.m. at the King Solomon Baptist Church.

Viewing will be held Fri., Jan. 20, from 2 to 5 p.m., at Ruffin & Jarrett Funeral Home, 1200 Chester, Little Rock. Interment will be Mon., Jan. 23, at 10 a.m. at the Arkansas State Veterans cemetery, 1501 Maryland, North Little Rock.

Cory J. Savary

Cory James Christopher Savary, 19, of Conway, died Jan. 15, 2006.

Survivors are his parents, Skip and Janet Savary of Little Rock and Janice Jones of Sherwood; brothers, Caelan, Colby, and Cameron, Conner; sister, Camille; and grandparents, Bob and Kay Savary and Anne Watts, all of Little Rock and Bob and Judith Jones of Marana, Ariz.

Funeral services will be Fri., Jan. 20, at 2 p.m. at Family Life Bible Church in Conway.

Interment will be in the Rest Hills cemetery in North Little Rock.

Memorial donations can be made to the Conway Human Development Center Parents Association.

Arrangements entrusted to Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home in Conway.

Mary B. Strickland

Mary Beatrice Strickland, 91, of Hampton, died Jan. 12, 2006.

Survivors include her son, Raymond Strickland of Hensley; brothers, Tom Bowen of Sherwood and A.J. Strickland of Hampton; and sister, Florene Tyler of Benton.

A graveside service was held Jan. 14 at Means cemetery.

Arrangements were by Benton Funeral Home in Hampton.
