Mae Hooten

Mae Hooten, 92, of Walnut Ridge, died May 26, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Born in the Eaton area, she was the daughter of Frank and Ara Richey. A homemaker, she lived in the Lynn area most of her life and was a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Hooten, in 1993; five brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include a son, Billy Hooten, Walnut Ridge; a daughter, Jessie Ellen Hughes, Memphis; three sisters, Elizabeth Wiggins, Independence, Mo., Winnie Nichols, Ventura, Calif., and Ora Davis, Jonesboro; a brother, Roy Richey, Sterling, Ill.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the House-Gregg Chapel with J.P. Morgan officiating. Burial was in Old Lebanon cemetery near Lynn under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were J.W. Richey, Jerry Richey, Wayne Richey, Randy Yarbro, David Penn and Don Bellcock.

Agnes J. Blackwell

Agnes Juanita Blackwell, 87, of Little Rock died Sunday, July 23. She taught English and Latin at Westside Junior High School, worked as a legal secretary for Gene Worsham Law Firm and was a member of Our Lady of The Holy Souls Catholic Church.

She is survived by her sons, George O. Blackwell of Sherwood and Phillip G. Blackwell of Little Rock; brothers G. Paul and George W. Kordsmeier, both of St. Louis, Mo.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth in Little Rock.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 28, at Calvary cemetery with Msgr. John W. Kordsmeier officiating.

Lillian B. Trevillion

Lillian B. Trevillion, 90, of Prescott died recently. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her sons, Benny and Jay Trevillion of Prescott; sisters Dorothy Grimes of Magnolia, and Amy Sanders of Sherwood; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 23, at the First United Methodist Church in Prescott, with interment in Pleasant Hill cemetery.

Gladys G. Johnson

Gladys G. Johnson, 83, of Walnut Ridge, died May 25, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Born in the Oak Hill community, she was the daughter of Henry and Grace Cline. She lived in Lawrence County all her life and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ezra Johnson, in 1987; and a brother, Thomas Cline.

Survivors include a daughter, Betty McCain, Jacksonville; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Saturday at 10 a.m. at the House-Gregg Chapel with Ted Shields officiating. Burial was in Manning cemetery #1 under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Ronnie Cline, Preston Cline, Ralph Cline, Hilton Cline, Jessie Cline and Wesley Walker. Honorary pallbearers were Charles Castille and Clinton McElrath.

Debbie Tollett

Debbie Tollett, 47, of Sherwood died Friday, June 30. She was an ordained minister and served at First Assembly of God Church in North Little Rock as children’s ministry director.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Tollett of Sherwood; and mother Alice Hill of Little Rock.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 3, at First Assembly, with interment at Rest Hills Memorial Park.

Memorials can be made to First Assembly of God 100x100 Church Plant or High Voltage Children’s Ministry, or to His Story Campus Evangelism in Sherwood.

Dean Jay McGill

Dean Jay McGill, 51, of Sherwood died Thursday, June 15.

He is survived by his wife, three brothers and one sister.

Services were Tuesday, June 20, in Ponca City, Okla.

Mildred D. George

Mildred Dacus George, 87, died in Fairfield Bay on Friday, June 30. She was a longtime resident of North Little Rock and member of Levy Church of Christ.

She is survived by husband, O.W. George Sr.; sons Warren George of Higden and James George of Sherwood; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 6, at Mt. George cemetery with the Rev. Ryan George officiating.

Willie Mae Delaney

Willie Mae Delaney, 86, of Carrollton, Texas, died Friday, June 30. She operated a clothing store in Prescott for several years.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Travis W. Delaney; sons Travis Jr., Doug and Ted Delaney; sisters Lillian Trevillion of Prescott, Dorothy Grimes of Magnolia, and Amy Sanders of Sherwood; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Monday, July 3, in the Rhoton Funeral Home chapel.

Bobby G. Sullivan

Bobby G. Sullivan, 78, of Sherwood died Wednesday, June 28. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, retired from the U.S. Air Force Reserve as a lieutenant colonel, was a CPA retired from the Internal Revenue Service, and was a member of Somers Avenue Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Virginia Gass Sullivan; sons Coy Neil Sullivan of Edenton, N.C., and Allen Wayne Sullivan of Mt. Calvary, Wisc.; sister Ruby Willbanks of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 1, at the Roller-Owens Funeral Home chapel in North Little Rock.

The family requests that memorials be made to Southern Christian Home in Morrilton.

Mildred M. Kellett

Mildred Maudie Kellett, 86, of Sherwood died Monday, July 3. She was retired from Timex Corporation.

She is survived by her daughters, Ernestine Raney, Wanda Cox, Jo Cox, Shelly Burgess and Sandra Bejeck; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 7, at the Roller Owens Funeral Home chapel in North Little Rock, with Pastor Gene Gilliam officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 6, at the funeral home.

Mabel B. Williams

Mabel Blakeley Williams, 93, of Jacksonville died Tuesday, July 4. She was an officer of First Arkansas Bank and Trust and a member of First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her sons, Lt. Col. (ret.) James R. “Bob” Williams of Ocean Springs, Miss., and Jack M. Williams of Roswell, Ga.; sister Rachel Hefner of Pine Bluff; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 6, at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 7, at First United Methodist Church of Jacksonville with the Rev. Carol Goddard officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park in Sherwood.

J. Paul Heard

J. Paul Heard, 88, of Newport died Monday, July 3. He was a World War II veteran and was awarded five Bronze Stars, was the owner of Paul’s Dixie Queen and later was the Newport city clerk and municipal court clerk until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jimmie Carpenter Heard of Newport; son James R. “Bob” Heard of Sherwood; brother William Heard Sr. of Sherwood; four grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 7, at the First Presbyterian Church of Newport. Interment will be in Walnut Grove cemetery.

The family requests that memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 664, Newport, Ark. 72112.

Dale Wayne Reline

Dale Wayne Reline, 56, of Sherwood died Sunday, July 2.

He is survived by his parents, Tom and Kathy Reline of Sherwood; and sister Trina Starnes of Gravel Ridge.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 6, at the Griffin Leggett Rest Hills chapel.

The family requests that memorials be made to the First Christian Church of Sherwood Building Fund.

Anita P. Brannon

Anita Phipps Brannon, 91, of Sherwood, formerly of Corning, died Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at Lakewood Nursing Home in care of Arkansas Hospice.

She was born Jan. 31, 1915, at Corning, Ark., the daughter of the late Fred and Maude Phipps.

She was a postal worker and homemaker and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Corning.

She was preceded in death by her husband, A.J. Brannon of Sherwood; son James (Marilyn) Brannon of Rexburg, Idaho; two grandchildren, Bobby of North Little Rock and Pam of Beebe.

There was a graveside service Saturday, July 1, at 10:30 a.m. in the Corning cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to Arkansas Hospice, 5600 W. 12th St., Little Rock, AR, 72204.
