Fred J. Richards

Fred J. Richards, 70, of North Little Rock, died March 2, 2005.
Survivors include his children, Vicki Austin of Sherwood, Rick Richards of North Little Rock, and Kris Richards of Benton; brother, John Paul Richards of Scott; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Fri., March 4, at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park.

Agnes Evelyn Waller
Agnes Evelyn Waller, 77, of Searcy, formerly of Black Rock, died July 25, 2004.

Born May 23, 1927, she was the daughter of Robert and Margaret Hillard Caseboult.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Amos Waller; a son, Charles Amos Waller; a sister, Lora Mae; a grandson, Michael Waller; and two great-grandsons.

Survivors include six sons, Bobby Waller, Clinton, Ralph Waller and Stan Waller, both of Paragould; Ricky Waller and Mickey Waller, both of Searcy; and Nicky Waller, Texas; five daughters, Pat Travis, Greenbrier, Marie McClusky, Newport, Phyllis Seaton, Jacksonville, Mary Clayton, Heber Springs, and Anne Davidson, Floral; two stepdaughters, Charlsie Chapple, Pocahontas, and Ruby Smith, Imboden; 37 grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren.

Funeral is today at 10 a.m. at the Rock of Life Church in Searcy with Jim Dillard, Ross Sturch and Jessie Jones officiating. Burial will be in Powhatan cemetery under the direction of Thomas Funeral Service of Cabot.

Pallbearers will be Greg Sturch, Robert Redd, Travis Martin, Huey Webb, Charles Allen Waller, Patrick Price, Anthony Price, David McClusky, Daniel Seaton, Clint Davidson, Bubby Waller, Joey Thomas and Jason Thomas.

Dr. Frederick William Westphal
Dr. Frederick William Westphal, 87, of Sacramento, Calif., died Dec. 23, 2003, in Sacramento.

Born April 25, 1916, in Walnut Ridge, he was the son of Frederick Sr. and Anna Mae Westphal Wells.

He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1937 with a B.M. in conducting and arranging and received a B.S. in public school music from the university in 1938. He earned a master's in music education from Eastman School of Music in Rochester, N.Y., 1939, and a performer's certificate in clarinet from the school in 1947. He received a PhD. from the university of Rochester in 1948.

He served as Professor of Music and Director of Band at Texas Women's University in Denton, Texas from 1940-46; clarinet teacher and librarian, National Music Camp at Interlochen, Mich., from 1935-45; music department chair at California State University Sacramento, 1948-1963; Professor of Graduate Studies 1964-86; author/editor with William C. Brown Publishers, 1958-1993 and McGraw Hill, 1993.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Hinda Cunningham Westphal; two sons, Frederick William Westphal and Carl Lawrence Westphal; and two grandsons, Andrew and Brandon.

A memorial concert honoring Dr. West-phal was presented by his students on Feb. 20, at 4 p.m. at Fremont Presbyterian Church in Sacramento.

Michelle Holder Wynn
Michelle Holder Wynn, 33, of Walnut Ridge, died July 25, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, of natural causes.

Born in Little Rock, she lived in Black Rock and Swifton before moving to the Walnut Ridge area. She was of the Pentecostal faith.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Angela Holder.

Survivors include her husband, David Wynn; two daughters, Brittany Gardner and April Holder, both of Walnut Ridge; a son, Tyler Wynn, Walnut Ridge; her mother, Judy Beasley Fleming, Walnut Ridge; her father, George Stanley Holder, Doniphan, Mo.; and a brother, Jimmy Holder, Jonesboro.

Graveside service is Thursday at 2 p.m. at Oak Forest cemetery in Black Rock with Roger Brand officiating. House-Gregg Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Carl Henderson, Robbie Mashburn, Cludia Gardner, C.J. Gardner, J.J. Finney and Billy Dean Beasley. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Wilson, Donnie Hampton and Frank Martinez.

Visitation is this evening from 5:30 to 8 at the funeral home.

Clinton Troy Cannon
Clinton Troy Cannon, 22, of Strawberry, died Sept. 6, 2004.

His body has been sent to the medical examiner, according to Jeff Qualls, coroner, in Sharp County.

No arrangements have been announced.

Nigel Ralph Gilbey

Nigel Ralph Gilbey, 43, of Sherwood, died Aug. 29, 2005.
He was in the construction business.

He is survived by his children, Ashleigh, and Chloe Gilbey of Cambridge, England, and Hayden Gilbey of Cabot; mother, Joan Audrey Cook of Sherwood; father, Ralph Gilbey of Cambridge, England; sisters, Lynne Maltby of England, Sandra Hardman of England, Jane Winningham of Texas, and Kerrie Lecompte of Georgia.

A memorial service was held Sept. 4 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home.

May Jeu

May Jeu, 80, of North Little Rock, died Sept. 1, 2005.
She was of the Baptist faith, lifetime member of the PTA, supporter of the North Little Rock Optimist Club and former owner/operator of the Hong Kong Restaurant in Little Rock.

She is survived by her son Ricky Jeu, of Sherwood; daughter Teresa of Conway; brother, Luck Wing, of Oxford, MS; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 901 North University, Little Rock, Ark., 72207 or Arkansas Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 2222, Little Rock, Ark., 72203.

Funeral services were held Sept. 6 at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was in the Roselawn Memorial Park.

Essie Sellers

Essie Sellers, 94, of Sherwood, died Sept. 3, 2005.
She is survived by her son Larry Sellers of Vilonia; sister, Madie Wilson of North Little Rock; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were Wed., Sept. 7, at the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Rest Hills Memorial Park.

Dale L. Saltmarsh

Dale Leroy Saltmarsh, 55, of Sherwood, died Sept. 4, 2005.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Jeanie Betzold Saltmarsh of the home; son, Michael Saltmarsh of Little Rock; daughter, Jamie Saltmarsh of the home; mother, Orvetta Saltmarsh of Tulsa, OK; brothers, Richard Saltmarsh of Claremore, OK, and Russell Saltmarsh of Monkey Island, OK; and sister, Beverly Pickard of Tulsa,OK.

He sold water purification chemicals throughout Arkansas and neighboring states for 30 years, most recently working as Senior Account Representative for the Chemtreat company. He was an active member of the North Little Rock First United Methodist Church.

Visitation for will be Thurs., Sept. 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the North Little Rock United Methodist Church on J.F.K. Blvd. Funeral services will be held Fri., Sept. 9, at 6 p.m. at the church. Reverends Steve Copley and Mary Hoey will officiate the service.

Memorial donations be made to the music fund at North Little Rock First United Methodist Church. Arrangements by Roller-Owens Funeral Home.

Everett Faulkner

Everett N. Faulkner, 85, died Sept. 6, 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Beeson Faulkner of Camden; son, Neal Faulkner of Fordyce; daughter, Pam Nelson of Collierville, TN; brother, A.G. Faulkner of Camden; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by Bob and Bobbi Shepherd, of El Dorado, and Gordon and Gayle Beeson of Sherwood.

He was an active member of Hillside Baptist Church. He was a World War II veteran. He was a local building contractor for over 30 years.

Funeral services were Thurs., Sept. 8, at the Hillside Baptist Church with Rev. Willis Moore officiating. Burial was at the Memorial Park cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Hillside Mission Team.

Clyde S. Matheny

Clyde S. Matheny, 99, of North Little Rock, died Sept. 7, 2005. He was a retired auto mechanic, a Past Master of Big Rock Lodge and a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Joyce Thompson of Sherwood; sons, Melvin of Maumelle, and Clyde Jr. of Little Rock; five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sat., Sept. 10, at 10 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 109 Tanglewood Drive, North Little Rock, with Pastor Robert C. Francis officiating.

Interment will follow at Edgewood cemetery.Arrangements are by Griffin Leggett Rest Hills.

Thomas Michael Harrington
Thomas Michael Harrington, 58, of Maynard, brother of Timothy Harrington of Hoxie, died Sept. 1, 2004, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Private burial was Saturday under the direction of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the St. Francis Regional Medical Center Neurosurgery Department.

Delma Christine Mashburn
Delma Christine Mashburn, 77, of Walnut Ridge, died Sept. 3, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

Born Dec. 6, 1926, at Eaton, she was the daughter of William and Leona Richey Stewart. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Life Full Gospel Church of Black Rock.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Mashburn, on May 21, 1998, whom she married Aug. 21, 1942; a son, Jackie Dean Mashburn; two brothers; two sisters; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Survivors include four sons, William Mashburn, Bakersfield, Calif., Paul Mashburn, Batesville, and Billy Mashburn and Ronnie Mashburn, both of Black Rock; two daughters, Wilma Burleson, Black Rock, and Doris Dotson, Poughkeepsie; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Bryan Chapel with Bro. Jim Pagen officiating. Burial was in Powhatan cemetery under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Steven Mashburn, Scotty Phillips, James Mashburn, Roger Taylor, David Taylor, Dennis Hill, Sherman Mashburn and Ronnie Moore.

Juanita M. Mondy
Juanita M. Mondy, 69, of Killeen, Texas, formerly of Walnut Ridge, died Sept. 4, 2004, at her home.

Born Oct. 11, 1934, in Rolla, Mo., she worked as a model and inspector for R & M Kaufman in Aurora, Ill., before moving to Killeen in 1980. She was a member of the Church of Christ of Killeen.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph Mondy, whom she married July 3, 1952.

Graveside service is Thursday at 11 a.m. at Lawrence Memorial Park with Darrell Douglas officiating. Higginbotham Funeral Service has charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of the service at Higginbotham Chapel.
