Rexford F. Grigsby Jr.

WELDON -- Rexford F. "Shorty" Grigsby Jr., 53, of Weldon died Friday, Nov. 25, 2005, at Searcy. He was born Nov. 28, 1951, the son of the late Rexford F. Sr. and Edith Beard Grigsby.

Survivors include his mother, Edith Grigsby of Weldon; sons, Jared Grigsby of Tuckerman and Alan Grigsby of Newport; a brother, Larry Grigsby of Weldon; two sisters, Kathy Green of Newport and Lou Mitchell of Texas; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Jackson's Newport Funeral Home. Interment will be in Sandhill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

Billy Jack Harrell

LESLIE -- Billy Jack Harrell, 67, of Leslie passed away Friday, Nov. 25, at Conway Regional Medical Center.

He was born May 23, 1938, in Wheelwright, Ky., to Opal Fugate Harrell Adams of Canton, N.C., and the late Jacob Straley Harrell.

He worked for James Dole Corp. in Redwood City, Calif., was a truck driver for several years and retired from Pace Industries as a machinist. He was a Navy veteran serving on the USS Hancock.

Survivors include two daughters, Jequetta Fawnille Treat of Leslie and Tina Lee Harrell of San Jose, Calif.; a son, Wade Shannen Harrell of Trumann; a grandchild, Tyler Harrell; and two sisters, Pauline Harvey of North Carolina and Ruby Lamping of Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Ann Koester Harrell; and his father, Jacob Harrell.

The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.

Herbert E. Kazzee

HARDY -- Herbert E. Kazzee, 65, of Hardy died Thursday.

He was born April 15, 1940 at Pocahontas.

Survivors include his wife, Vickie Whitney Kazzee; two stepsons from Hardy, Shane Holland and Troy Daniel; one stepdaughter, Johnna Spikes of Salt Lake City, Utah; two brothers from Pocahontas, Bill and Harold Kazzee; sister, Helen Head of Sedgwick; six stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Saturday at Cox-Waymon Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Waterman officiating and interment in Masonic Cemetery at Pocahontas.

Mary M. Miller

BRINKLEY -- Mary M. Miller, 91, of Brinkley, died Friday, Nov. 25, at Stuttgart Regional Medical Clinic.

Mrs. Miller lived in Jonesboro most of her life and was retired from North Jonesboro School District. She was employed from 1951 to 1976 as the food services supervisor.

Survivors include six grandchildren and a host of great- and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Miller, and two sons.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today, graveside in Philadelphia Cemetery, with Charles Kenney officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. today at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

Virginia May Sexton

HOXIE -- Virginia May Sexton, 89, of Hoxie died Friday, Nov. 25, 2005, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro.

She was born Sept. 15, 1916, in Colorado, the daughter of William Gratis and Ollie Elizabeth Cook. She retired from Lawrence Memorial Hospital as an LPN and was a member of Hoxie Church of Christ.

She is survived by a daughter, Anita Duncan of Walnut Ridge; a son, Donald Owens of Hoxie; two brothers, Owen Cook of Louisiana and Carl Cook of Saffell; two sisters, Inez Wallan of Michigan and Sarah Cook of New Mexico; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Geneva Pauline Owen; her husband, Earnest Sexton; a brother; three sisters; and a great-grandchild.

No funeral service is planned.

Charlie Harrison Shelby

RECTOR -- Funeral services for 88-year-old Charlie Shelby of General Baptist Nursing Home, formerly of Rector and Piggott, who passed away on Nov. 26, will be Monday in the Irby Funeral Home Chapel at Rector, with Kevin Murray officiating. Internment will be in Mitchell Cemetery at Greenway.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Veda Shelby on Oct. 19, 2005; his parents, Lemuel Washington and Hattie Mae Shelby; a daughter and son-in-law, Martha Vangilder Rogers and Charles Vangilder; and three sisters, Grace Copeland, Willie Shelby and Pauline Shelby.

Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Scott Sims of Piggott; two grandchildren, Alan and Brenda Vangilder of Addison, Texas, and Lori Sims of Piggott; two great-grandsons, Jason and Daniel Vangilder of Paragould; a brother, Glen Shelby of Michigan; a sister, Mary Layne; and a son-in-law, Jim Rogers of Piggott.

Pallbearers will be Dwight Vangilder, Joe Vangilder, James Vangilder, Alvin Vangilder, James Lindsey, Howard Beaton, W.O. Layer and Earl Sims.

He was a member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, where he had served as deacon since April 19, 1953.

Willie Tubbs

MOUNTAIN VIEW -- Willie Tubbs, 72, of Mountain View died Friday in Mountain View. Mr. Tubbs was preceded in death by his parents, R. Venna and Ada Barnett Tubbs; two brothers, Leroy and Henry Tubbs; and two sisters, Minnie Swafford and Rosie Watters.

He is survived by three nieces; 10 nephews; 11 great-nieces and 21 great-nephews.

Service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Dillinger Chapel with interment in Clark Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Monday. Services are under the direction of Dillinger Funeral Home.

Frank Utley

JONESBORO -- Frank Gerald Utley, 64, of Jonesboro died Nov. 26, 2005, in St. Bernard's Medical Center at Jonesboro.

He was born on June 22, 1944, in Rector. Mr. Utley was a retired employee of the Hytrol Conveyor shipping department and was a member of the Church of Christ faith.

Survivors include his mother, Ethel Utley of Paragould, his wife, Maria Utley of Jonesboro; three sons, Jeremy Frank Utley of Jonesboro, Ronald D. Eaton of Cash and Ronnie Eugene Utley of Paragould; a daughter, Madoline Elaine White of Paragould; five stepdaughters, Robin Baugas and Rhonda Barton, both of Jonesboro, Sherri Hathcoat of Brookland, Dana Eaton of Bono and Gina Banks of Hot Springs; and two brothers, Wayne Utley of Blytheville and Leonard Utley of Paragould.

Mr. Utley was preceded in death by his father, Rawleigh Utley and one grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould.

Dan Castle

HARRISBURG -- Funeral services for Mr. Dan Castle, 54, of Harrisburg will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Weston Funeral Service Chapel in Harrisburg. Interment will follow in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may visit at the funeral home this evening 5-9 p.m.

Formerly of West Memphis, Dan had lived in Harrisburg for three years. He was a truck driver and enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle.

He is survived by Sue Whitlatch of the home; two sons, Todd Rowe of Ohio and Wayne Castle of West Memphis; two daughters, Melissa McGann of Ohio and Jennifer Bowers of Georgia, a stepdaughter, Charlene Qualls of Trumann; three sisters, Sue Shelton of Knoxville, Tenn., Penny Donnal of Wolverine, Mich., and Peggy Messer of Houston; and several grandchildren.

Norma Jean Crosno

WALNUT RIDGE -- Norma Jean Crosno, 61, died Tuesday.

She was a homemaker and member of Holly Island Baptist Church.

She is survived by husband Joe Crosno of Walnut Ridge; mother, Vera Vahst of Monticello, Ind.; sons, Michael Crosno of Walnut Ridge and Steven Crosno of Oklahoma City; one sister; three brothers; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at House-Gregg Chapel in Walnut Ridge with Paul Segraves officiating. Burial will follow at Lawrence Memorial Park.

Visitation is today from 5:30-8 p.m.

Maggie Donald

MEMPHIS -- Maggie Donald, 91, of Memphis, died Nov. 29.

She was born April 13, 1914, at Woodland, Miss., and was a member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church at Osceola.

Survivors include four daughters, three sons, one sister, one brother, 37 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church at Osceola with the Rev. M.L. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Westside Cemetery in Osceola.

Arrangements are being handled by Wilson Funeral Home of Osceola.

There is no visitation.
