Bethel Irene Dillon

Bethel Irene Royce Dillon, age 76, of Sherwood, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004.
Her survivors include her husband of 56 years, Leo Dillon; two sons - Rusty and David Dillon; two grandsons; two brothers - George “Pop” Royce and Jerry Royce; one sister, Billie Hiett.

The service was held March 2, at the First Pentecostal Church, North Little Rock. Burial was at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills cemetery. Services conducted by Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, North Little Rock.

Paul W. Highfill

Paul W. Highfill, 90, of Paragould died Wednesday.
He was a retired postal carrier and a retired first sergeant with the Army Reserve.
He was a United States Army veteran serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lola; one daughter, Carolyn Davis of Sherwood.
Funeral was Saturday at Heath Colonial Chapel with interment in Greene County Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Paragould, Ark.

Corbet Leroy Clark
Corbet Leroy Clark, 83, of Walnut Ridge, died Feb. 5, 2005, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro.

Born in Black Rock, he was the son of the late Luther and Aurora Corbett Clark. He lived most of his life in the Lawrence County area. He was a businessman and owner of Clark's Quality Concrete and Clark Construction until his retirement.

He was a veteran of World War II, a Mason, being a member of lodge #476 of Black Rock, a member of York-Rite Bodies and a Shriner. He was of the Church of Christ belief.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jay Etta Rowsey Clark; his parents; and four brothers, Chalmers Clark, Chester Clark, Millard Clark and Lavelle Clark.

Survivors include two sons, C.L. Clark Jr. and Philip Clark, both of Walnut Ridge; two daughters, Rochelle Greenwood, North Little Rock, and Carolyn Kincade, Maumelle; and two brothers, Ralph Clark, Walnut Ridge, and Victor Clark, Portia.

He was a loving grandfather to six grandchildren, Carmon D'Amico, Jay Clark, Dr. Matt Kincade, Dedra Riggs, Ashley Clark Corbet Clark of Fayetteville, and three great-grandchildren, Drew D'Amico of Greenwood, and Sarah and Jake Riggs of Walnut Ridge.

Funeral service was Tuesday, Feb. 8, in the chapel of House-Gregg Funeral Home. Masonic graveside services and burial were at Lawrence Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to the Children's Home, 5515 Old Walcott Road, Paragould, AR 72450; Shriner's Children's Hospital, 6977 Main Street, Houston, TX, or 2001 South Linbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63131-3597.

James Whitten

James Robert “Doc” Whitten, PharmD of Sherwood, died March 3, 2004, at the age of 77.

He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the College of the Ozarks. He served in the United States Air Corps between World War II and the Korean War. He was a partner in Whitten Holstead Drug Store in Rose City and Stewart Whitten Pharmacy in Little Rock. He also worked for the Upjohn Pharmaceutical Company and served as director of pharmacy of the State Hospital in Little Rock. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner. He was active in local politics in the 70s as a candidate for State Representative and State Senate in North Little Rock. He was a charter member and elder of the Friends of His Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Sherwood.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Maggie Whitten; a son, Jim Whitten; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Friend of His Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Sherwood.

Funeral services were March 8, at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home with interment in Rest Hills Memorial Park.

Randy W. Sherrill

Randy W. Sherrill of Sherwood died March 1, 2004, at the age of 46.
He was a member of Sylvan Hills Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Deresa of 25 years; two daughters, Amber and Jennifer Sherrill both of Sherwood; his parents Elvis and Pat Sherrill; two brothers, Scott Sherrill of England, and Philip Sherrill of Sherwood.

Funeral services were March 4, at Sylvan Hills Church of Christ. Interment was in Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Memorial Park, North Little Rock.

Gerald McGraw

Ssgt. Gerald Doyle McGraw, 71, of Sherwood, died Thursday, March 4, 2004.
He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Sherwood; an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of Shriners and 32nd degree Mason.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda McCraw of Sherwood; daughter, Carol Davison of Little Rock; 3 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; stepdaughters, Carrie Renaud of North Little Rock, Lisa Graham of Sherwood; 2 step-grandsons; 2 step-granddaughters; 1 step-great-granddaughter; brother, Burness McCraw of North Little Rock; and stepfather, Harley Wade of Mayflower.

Funeral service was Monday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Rest Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Guy Ramsey

Guy Ramsey, 74, of Little Rock, died March 7, 2004.

Being a very active Mason, Guy was a member of two lodges, Crescent Lodge in North Little Rock and McCrory Lodge in McCrory. He also was a member of Scimitar Shrine Temple in Little Rock and Bendemeer Grotto in Maumelle, plus the Scottish Rite in Little Rock. He was active in the Rotary Club of Sherwood and the Jacksonville Shrine Club. He was a member of Levy First United Methodist Church in North Little Rock and the McHughes Sunday School Class.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Curbo Ramsey of Sherwood; one brother, Bill Ramsey Sr. of Little Rock.

Funeral services were held at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in McCrory, with interment in Fakes cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Levy United Methodist Church, 47th and Allen Streets, North Little Rock, Ark. 72118.

Amos Levton

Amos Levton, 67, of Little Rock, died March 6, 2004.

He is survived by his mother, Alice Bush of Little Rock; a son, Tyrell Levton of Wrightsville; a daughter, Denise Levton of Sherwood; four brothers: Lloyd Levton of Los Angeles, Calif., Donzell Levton of Gould, George Bush, Jr., of Pine Bluff, and Noble Bush of El Centro, Calif.; 10 sisters, Marie Carter, Lillian Akins, Florcia Thomas, Patricia Harvey, all of Little Rock, LeDoris Webb of Hot Springs, Georgia Jones and Anne Lee Smith, both of St. Louis, Edna Levton of Oakland, Calif., and Emma Smith and Katherine Collins both of Pine Bluff.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 13, 2004, at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Chapel, Little Rock. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn in Pine Bluff.

Linda Ann Watson

Linda Ann Watson, 50, died on March 8, 2004.

She is survived by her mother, Rose Mary Buck; sister, Carolyn Green; three sons, James Watson of Texarkana; Robert Watson of Little Rock; and Johnathan Watson of Sherwood and two grandchildren.

Funeral services 10 a.m., Friday, Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel.
Memorials, Clark County Hospice, 605 S. 10 th, Arkadelphia, Ark. 71923.

Marilyn Ann Davis
Marilyn Ann Davis, 70, of Walnut Ridge, died Feb. 3, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Born Oct. 5, 1934, in St. John's, Mo., she was a business owner and operator and was of the Baptist belief.

She was preceded in death by a son, Melvin Davis Jr.; a daughter, Cheryl Lee Pettit; her parents, Milton and Magdalen Jobe Lammers; and two grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Rodney E. Davis, Imboden; three daughters, Peggy S. Davis, Jonesboro, Judy Goodwin, Walnut Ridge, and Kathryn Smelser, Gainesville, Mo.; a sister, Laverne Flood, Wentzville, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Wesley Davis, Stephanie Davis, Courtney Goodwin, Bob Pettit, Travis Pettit, Amy Graham, Sonja Valdez and Chad Goodwin; and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside service was Sunday at 2 p.m. at Lawrence Memorial Park with Bro. Doug Adkins officiating. Bryan Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Scott Gauntt, William Rungan, Bobby Gilmore, Ricky Gilmore, Skip Dulaney and Michael Burleigh. Honorary pallbearers were Charles Davidson, John E. Flood, Cliff Clause, Dennis Truxler, Blake Britton, Allen Burns and Billy Butts.

Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Children's Hospital.

Sarah Mae Alberson

Sarah Mae Alberson, 74, of North Little Rock died March 15, 2004.
She was a member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Jacksonville and was a retired registered nurse, serving 14 years as Associate Director of Nursing for Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, W.M. “Bill” Alberson; three sons, Bob Alberson of Bella Vista, Mike Alberson of Jacksonville, and Don Alberson of Eureka Springs; five grandchildren; one brother, Gerald du-Priest of Little Rock; and one sister, Martha Clement of Sherwood.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, March 18, at St. Jude’s Catholic Church, Jacksonville.

Memorials may be made in her honor to Arkansas Children’s Hospital Foundation, P. O. Box 2222, Little Rock, Ark. 72203 or St. Jude’s Catholic Church.

Verna Faye Fisher

Verna Faye Cobb Fisher, 79, of Little Rock and Hot Springs, died Wednesday, March 10.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Fisher of Little Rock; daughter Jan Baker; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Freeda Batson of Hemphill, Texas, Ilene Windle of Conway, Loease Woodall of Benton, Juanita Powell of Bald Knob; brother, Mignon Francis of Little Rock.

Funeral was Saturday at North Little Rock Funeral Home. Internment was at Crestview Memorial Park in Hot Springs. Services directed by Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob-Judsonia.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Coila Jackie White

Coila Jackie White, age 77, of Sherwood, died March 14, 2004.
She was a member of First Assembly of God of North Little Rock.
Survivors are her husband of almost 51 years, C. Randall White; two daughters, Randa Darby, 2 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Arkansas Hospice Center, North Little Rock.
A celebration of her life was held Tuesday, March 16, at First Assembly of God, North Little Rock with burial in Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Memorial Park.

Memory Barber

Memory Barber, age 81, of Sherwood died Thursday, March 11, 2004.
She was a retired school teacher for 36 years.

Survivors include sons, Glenn Barber; of Sherwood and Robley Barber of Larkspur, Colo.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services private to the family. Arrangements by Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home.

Emma Lou Tedford

Emma Lou Neely Tedford, 85, of North Little Rock, died March 9, 2004.
She was the widow of retired Pulaski County Tax Assessor L.E. Tedford.

She volunteered at Pikeview Elementary School for their music programs for several years. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in North Little Rock.
She is survived by her children, Mary Jane Staggs, of Cabot, Jimmie Tedford of Beebe, David Tedford of North Little Rock and Lou Ellen Sierra of Sherwood; six grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Funeral services March 12, at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel.
Memorials can be made to Faith Baptist Church-Faith for the Future Building Fund.
