Rev. Norman Lee Lewis
Rev. Norman Lee Lewis, 80, of Bryant, died Dec. 26, 2005.
He was a former Director of Missions for the Black River Baptist Association in Walnut Ridge and was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Bryant.
He served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and received a Purple Heart and a Medal of Valor. He received his Master of Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Ray Lewis; and two grandsons, Joey Calhoun and Larry Grisham Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Pauline Lewis; three sons, Larry Grisham Lewis, Bryant, and Randy Phillip Lewis and Bart Andrew Lewis, both of Little Rock; a daughter, Paulette L. Hardwick, Greenbrier; five brothers, Rev. Bill H. Lewis, Benton, Maurice E. Lewis and Roy D. Lewis, both of Little Rock, Rev. Robert D. Lewis, Fairfield, Calif., and Rev. J. Paul Lewis, Albuquerque, N.M.; three sisters, Mary Ruth Kohl, Brownwood, Texas, Connie Renfro, Fort Worth, Texas, and Carolyn Bobo, Alexander; nine grandchildren, Andrew Calhoun, Joshua Calhoun, Vincent Lewis, Janelle Lewis, Lara Lewis, Jordan Payton, Adam Philip Smith, Scott Hardwick and Clint Hardwick; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Friday at 2 p.m. at First Southern Baptist Church in Bryant. Burial was in Liberty cemetery at Benton under the direction of North Little Rock Funeral Home.
Alice Lee Lyle
Alice Lee Lyle, 99, of Swifton, died Jan. 2, 2006.
Born Oct. 3, 1906, in Stone County, she was the daughter of Thomas and Ada Thompson Lyle. She was a farmer and a member of the Assembly of God church.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Lyle and J.P. Lyle; and two sisters, Lola Violet Lyle and Dora Lyle Upchurch.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Ann Lyle, Swifton; two nieces, Katherine Lyle Harbison and Shirley Lyle Hitt, both of Swifton; and a nephew, James W. Lyle, Swifton.
Funeral is today at Abiding Faith Church in Swifton with Bro. Thomas Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Strangers Home cemetery under the direction of Jackson's Newport Funeral Home.
Elvis Andrew Moore
Elvis Andrew Moore, 81, of Bono, died Dec. 31, 2005, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro.
Born April 2, 1924, in Fontaine, he was the son of Tom and Mollie Madge Bramlett Moore. A lifetime resident of Bono, he retired from A & P Coop of Jonesboro after 30 years as a machine operator. He was a member of the Jesus Name Pentecostal Church of Hoxie.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers and a sister.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Erlene Songer Moore, whom he married
Nov. 8, 1943, in Sedgwick; two sons, David Moore, Bono, and Paul Moore, Walnut Ridge; two daughters, Dian Clark, Lake City, and Paula Roseberry, Booneville, Miss.; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Funeral is today at 2 p.m. in Higginbotham Chapel with Rev. Danny Murphy and Bro. Van Gilbert officiating. Burial will be in Lorado cemetery under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be Denny Meeker, Junior Lee, Robert Cook, Eric Songer, Tom Miller and Kevin Hancock. Bill Forsythe will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Mary Ruth Neece
Mary Ruth Neece of Jacksonville, formerly of Eaton, died Dec. 30, 2005, at Rebsamen Hospital in Jacksonville.
She was a homemaker and a farmer and was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Price Neece.
Survivors include a sister, Lucille Collins, Ava, Mo.
Funeral was Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the House-Gregg Chapel with Luther Jones officiating. Burial was in Old Lebanon cemetery, near Lynn, under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home.
Rev. John E. Savage
Rev. John E. Savage, 58, of Little Rock, died Dec. 30, 2005, at his home.
Born June 1, 1947, in Louisiana, he was serving as pastor of Cross Road Baptist Church in Little Rock and had previously pastored churches in Arkansas and Missouri. He served as chaplain of the West Pulaski Volunteer Fire Department and had served with World Changers in Shreveport, La., for the past four summers.
He attended Southern Baptist College (now Williams Baptist College), where his father taught, and Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia. He received his Divinity degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, E. Fredrick and Nellie Inzer Savage.
Survivors include his wife, Janis Smalley Savage; a daughter, Deborah Wilson, Arkadelphia; a son, Jonathon Savage, Belle, Mo.; a brother, David Savage, Fayetteville; three sisters, Mary Wilder, Harrah, Okla., Ruth Crittendon, Lawton, Okla., and Martha Miller, Richmond, Va.; and two grandsons, Cameron Wilson and Carson Wilson.
A memorial service was held Monday at 2 p.m. at Cross Road Baptist Church, with Rev. Don Cooper officiating.

Cleo Vinson
Cleo Vinson, 84, of Walnut Ridge, died Dec. 28, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Born in Tyronza, he was the son of James B. and Florence L. Vinson. He lived in Rockford, Ill., and returned to Arkansas after his retirement from National Lock. He was a member of the Hoxie Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by five sisters and seven brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Alma M. Vinson; a son, Jesse D. Daughtry, Rockford, Ill.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Saturday at 11 a.m. in Bryan Chapel with A.J. Stracener and Kevin Wright officiating. Burial was in Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Derrick Daughtry, Drew Daughtry, Edward Pace, Arthur Inman, Sid Tidwell and L.J. Hogue.
Opal Faye Kuhn Wallace
Opal Faye Kuhn Wallace, 75, of Searcy, died Dec. 27, 2005, at her home, following a short illness.
Born April 7, 1930, at Caraway, she was the daughter of Robert Walter and Hazel Hamilton Kuhn. She was a graduate of Southern Baptist (now Williams Baptist) College and attended Arkansas State University and the University of Central Arkansas for graduate studies.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lambert M. Wallace, in 1981, whom she married
in 1954; a brother, J.W. Kuhn; and a sister, Martha Clark.
Survivors include a son, Mack Wallace, Maumelle; two daughters, Madonna Smith, Calhoun, Ga., and Rhonda Chatham, Stuttgart; two sisters, Eunice Ashabranner, Searcy, and Hazel Whistle, Mountain Home; and four grandsons.
Funeral was Friday at 10 a.m. at Powell Funeral Home in Searcy. Burial was in Smyers cemetery at Aplin.
Memorials may be made to Southern Christian Home in Morrilton, Harding University or Hospice Home Care.
Noland Cole
Noland Cole, 91, of Rockford, Ill., formerly of the Eaton community, died Monday in Rockford.
Mr. Cole's body is being returned to Walnut Ridge. The funeral is tentatively set for Tuesday, with burial in New Hope cemetery.
Higginbotham Funeral Service will have charge of the arrangements.
Mack Thomas Cox
Mack Thomas Cox, 77, of Santa Rosa, Calif., died Jan. 21, 2006.
Born Jan. 25, 1928, in Old Walnut Ridge, he was the son of M. Frank and Ora Cox. He attended Southern Baptist College (now Williams Baptist College). He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and served in the U.S. Army Reserves for 15 years. He moved to California in 1960 to work for Rohr Corporation. He retired from Ampex in 1996 after 24 years of service. He was an active participant at Trinity Presbyterian Church in San Jose and was a member of Sons in Retirement.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Barbara Cox; three daughters, Martha Earl, Campbell, Calif., Nancy Thompson, Santa Rosa, Calif., and Beth Richter, Walnut Ridge; a sister, Catherine Ponder, Walnut Ridge; three brothers, Archie Cox, Walnut Ridge, Robert Cox, North Little Rock, and Edgar Cox, Witchita, Kan.; and five grandchildren, Brian, Kate, Katy, Emily and Justin.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church. Darling Fischer Campbell Memorial Chapel of Campbell, Calif., had charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Trinity's Rose Garden Fund.
Corbett W. Lawrence
Corbett W. Lawrence, 70, of Ravenden, died Jan. 27, 2006, at his home.
Born Oct. 16, 1935, at Ravenden, he was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, a veteran and a real estate broker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Lawrence, Opal Watts Lawrence Swetnam and "Babe" Swetnam.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; a son, Frank Lawrence, Searcy; two daughters, Pamela Von Kaenel, Frinton, England, and Dawn Mills, Martinsville, Va.; a brother, Ricky Lawrence, Ravenden; a sister, Cornell Hughes, Fort Pierce, Fla.; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Matthew, Erin, Jasmine, Taylor and Larissa; and a great-grandchild.
Funeral was Monday at 1 p.m. at the Ravenden Church of Christ. Burial was in Dail cemetery in Ravenden under the direction of Heath Funeral Home of Hardy.

Exie Towell McEntire
Exie Towell McEntire, 92, of Walnut Ridge, died Jan. 31, 2006, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro, following a short illness.
Born Aug. 3, 1913, at Eleven Point, she was the daughter of Benjamin F. and Mary Jane Vandergriff Smith. She was a retired seamstress for the Jonathan Logan Factory and was a member of Main Street Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lowery Towell; her second husband, Esert McEntire; a son, Sammy Towell; and a sister, Jessie Snow.
Survivors include a son, Tom Towell, Pocahontas; two sisters, Tressie Godwin and Ludean Summers, both of Walnut Ridge; three grandchildren, Jay Towell, Nancy Foust and Susan Mosley; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Bryan Chapel with Rob Combs officiating. Burial will be in Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home.
Visitation is Thursday evening from 5 to 7.
Jade McWilliams
Jade McWilliams, three-month-old daughter of Michael McWilliams and Nancy Jones of Cabot, died Jan. 26, 2006.
In addition to her parents, survivors include two sisters, Angelique Jones and Chloe McWilliams; a brother, Michael McWilliams Jr.; and her grandparents, Teresa McDougal, Jacksonville, Charles and Trixie Jones, Sherwood (formerly of Hoxie), Bill and Susie DeVries, North Little Rock, and Terry McWilliams, Mount Ida.
Funeral was Monday at 1 p.m. in the House-Gregg Chapel with Don House officiating. Burial will be in Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home.
