Devone Northcutt
Devone Northcutt, 79, of Strawberry, died Jan. 29, 2006, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro.
Born Oct. 29, 1926, at Saffell, she was the daughter of James Henry and Donia Richmond Huskey. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Harmony Free Will Baptist Church in Saffell.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Willie Huskey, Burl Huskey, Orville Huskey and Raymond Huskey; and two sisters, Verna Ballard and Kathleen Lewallen.
Survivors include her husband, Gilbert Northcutt; two sons, Robert Northcutt and Randall Northcutt, both of Strawberry; a brother, Monroe Huskey, Saffell; a sister, Florine Harris, Strawberry; five grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Harmony Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Stanley Vandergriff officiating. Burial was in Union cemetery, near Dowdy, under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were Jerry Ray Huskey, Rickey Huskey, Junior Huskey, Shane Watts, Steve Huskey and Eddie Ray Doyle. Honorary pallbearers were David Allen and Jerry Lee Huskey.
Rev. Allen Snearly
Rev. Allen Snearly, 82, of Highland, died Jan. 28, 2006, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
Born May 17, 1923, at Deer, he was the son of Alvin Olen and Alpha Nichols Snearly. He was an ordained minister of the Assemblies of God and pastored churches in Portia and Imboden before moving to Highland.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Dennis Snearly, Vernon Snearly and Fred Snearly; two sisters, Doris Richie and Thelma Williams; and four great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Claudine Brown Snearly, whom he married
July 12, 1940; three sons, Bobby Joe Snearly, Jonesboro, and Billy Wayne Snearly and Rickey Carl Snearly, both of Cherokee Village; a daughter, Wanda Jean Langston, Cherokee Village; a brother, Wayne Snearly, Wynne; a sister, Edith Brown, Harrisburg; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral is today at 2 p.m. at the First Assembly of God in Highland with Revs. Larry Moore, Dale Hughart and Tim Turner officiating. Burial will be in Highland cemetery under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers will be Tony Snearly, Sam Snearly, Gabriel Snearly, Nicholas Snearly, Nathaniel Snearly, Nathan Hubbard and Michael Sullivan.
Richard Thacker
Richard Thacker, 59, of Leachville, died Jan. 26, 2006, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro.
Born at Strawberry, he was a 1967 graduate of Poughkeepsie High School and had lived in the Leachville area for the past 40 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was a supervisor at Emerson Electric in Paragould. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Grace Tanner Thacker.
Survivors include his wife, Edith "Sally" Thacker; two sons, Brian Thacker and Jerry Thacker, both of Leachville; a daughter, Joany Guiltner, Monette; a brother, Harold Thacker, Boydsville; six sisters, Loveda Drury and Shirley Drury, both of Lafe, Linda Swenson, Debary, Fla., Deloris Thacker, Smithville, Dee Carter, Lake Wells, Fla., and Floreda Thacker, Paragould; and five grandchildren.
Funeral was Sunday at 2 p.m. at Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville, with Rev. Terry Miller officiating. Burial was in Leachville cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jerry Grant, Chad Carmichael, Kenny Carmichael, Ronnie Carmichael, Todd McCain and Richard Garrett.

Neal Webster
Neal Webster, 75, of Swifton, died Jan. 29, 2006, at Swifton.
He was born in Texola, Okla.
He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Michael Webster; his parents, George Archie and Odie Holt Webster; a brother and a sister.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Pennington Webster; a son, Douglas Webster, Fulton, Mo.; a daughter, Jayne Wagster, Swifton; five brothers; a sister; and four grandchildren, Eric Webster, Douglas Webster, Christopher Webster and Abbe Wagster.
Graveside service was Monday at 1:30 p.m. in Mount Zion cemetery at Steele, Mo., with Revs. Teddy Rhea and Waymon Holt officiating.
Opal Wilkes
Opal Wilkes, 87, of Jonesboro, died Jan. 31, 2006, at the Rose Skill Care Nursing Center in Jonesboro.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Wilkes Sr.; a brother, Bobby Justus; and a sister, Alta Walker.
Survivors include a son, Leroy Wilkes Jr., Jonesboro; three sisters, Donna Burch, Springdale, Rita Drane and Flonnie Kinder, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; two brothers, Thomas Justus, Springdale, and Billy Justus, Powhatan; two grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral is Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Lynn Church of Christ with Don House officiating. Burial will be in Dry Creek cemetery at Lynn under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home.
Visitation is Thursday from noon until time of the service.
Alice Marie Rose Anderson
Alice Marie Rose Anderson, 83, of Walnut Ridge, died April 8, 2006, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 16, 1923, at O'Kean, she was the daughter of C.W. "Clarence" and Maudie Shelton Rose. She was a homemaker and a former member of Black Rock First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a brother, P.K. Rose.
Survivors include her husband, E.W. "Sonny" Anderson, whom she married
Oct. 21, 1944; two sons, Gordon Thompson and Tony Anderson, both of Pocahontas; two daughters, Rosemary Palmer, Chattanooga, Tenn., and Terry Anderson, Walnut Ridge; a brother, Harold Rose, Black Rock; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral is today at 10 a.m. in Bryan Chapel with Bro. Melvin Shelton officiating. Burial will be in Masonic cemetery at Pocahontas under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home.

Cora Fay Brown
Cora Fay Brown, 93, of Cave City, died April 6, 2006, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
Born June 21, 1913, at Lynn, she was the daughter of Stanley and Lula Buttram Jones. She was a homemaker and a member of East Side Southern Baptist Church in Cave City.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Palmer Penn; her second husband, Frank Brown; and a son, Jerry Dale Penn.
Survivors include three sons, Wayburn Penn, Jacksonville, Wayne Penn, Cave City, and Vernon Penn, Jamestown, Calif.; two daughters, Nita Oliver, Hot Springs, and Jo Ann Barnhart, Kansas City, Kan.; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel at Cave City with Bro. Gary Wallace officiating. Burial was in Dry Creek cemetery, south of Lynn.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Roger Penn, Richard Penn, Boyce Penn, Greg Penn, Randal Caldwell and Jeremy Penn.
Stephan Randal Gates
Stephan Randal Gates, 39, of Walnut Ridge, died April 6, 2006, at Milan General Hospital in Milan, Tenn.
Born in Pocahontas, he was a lifetime resident of Lawrence County. He was employed by Arco Towers and was a member of Alicia Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Gates; and a brother, Freddy Joe Gates.
Survivors include his wife, Alleen Crouse Gates, whom he married

Norma Sue Gosha, 54, of Alicia, died April 8, 2006, in Jonesboro.
A lifetime resident of Lawrence County, she was a homemaker and a member of the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clead and Roberta Hammonds Simmons; and two brothers, Melvin Simmons and an infant brother, Tony.
Survivors include her husband, Tony Gosha; a daughter, Tonya Smyth, Prairie Grove; two sons, Rodney Simmons, Kirkland, Ill., and Tracy Gosha, Clover Bend; eight sisters, Lois McCoy and Debbie Barber, both of Illinois, Kathy Burchfield, Melba Verke and Becky Godwin, all of Alicia; Mary Armstrong, Jonesboro, Ruth Howard, Swifton, and Freda Ward, Walnut Ridge; five brothers, Cleo Simmons, Alicia, Terry Simmons, Kirkland, Ill., John Simmons, Kansas, Jerry Simmons, Velvadeere, Ill., and Glen Simmons, Missouri; and eight grandchildren.

Phylis Myrl Hall
Phylis Myrl Hall, 75, of Jonesboro, died April 5, 2006, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro.
Born May 27, 1930, in Waterloo, Iowa, she was a graduate of East High in Waterloo. She was a school bus aide, a cafeteria worker and a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lenard Hall, on Nov. 30, 1993, whom she married
Dec. 27, 1952; a daughter, Myrl Wingo; her parents, Ralph McKinley and Myrl Gladys Congdon Morey; a brother, Jackie Douglas; and four sisters, Nancy Colleen Morey, Mary Jo Spaulding, Patricia Goodin and Phoebe Jon Gorman.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
Graveside service was Saturday at 10 a.m. at Worley cemetery with Terry Joe Kee officiating. Bryan Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Rickey Glenn, Ervin Bowden, Tony Spaulding, J.R. Arnold, Gerald Bass and Charlie Bass.
Carroll Henson
Carroll Henson, 86, of Walnut Ridge, died April 4, 2006, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Born in Bono, he was the son of Tobe and Mary Jane Henson. He lived at Bono until moving to Walnut Ridge six years ago. He was a retired groover for Southern Wood and Box Company and was of the Baptist belief.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Wayne Henson; four brothers, Ester Henson, Wes Henson, Charlie Henson and Mace Henson; and a sister, Martha Minton.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Lucille Henson; a son, Larry Henson, Jonesboro; two daughters, Peggy Webb, Hoxie, and Lisa Upton, Atlanta; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Friday at 2 p.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro with Rev. Marion Stringer officiating. Burial was in Old Enterprise cemetery under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
Pallbearers were Doug Mathis, Lewis Smith, Chuck McDaniel, Dennis Coggins, Michael Staggs and Albert Upton.
