Edward T. Harrell

Edward Thomas “Tom” Harrell, 82, of Sherwood, died June 7, 2006. He worked for the federal government for 42 years and was an Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of North Little Rock First Assembly of God Church since 1945.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ola Mae; son Rick Harrell of Sherwood; and daughter, Linda Bankston of Slidell, LA; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brother, Frank Harrell of Reno, NV.

Funeral services were held June 10 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at Rest Hills Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 5600 W. 12th Street, Little Rock, Ark. 72204 or 100X100 at North Little Rock First Assembly of God Church, 4501 Burrow Dr., North Little Rock, Ark. 72116.

Grady Dewey Hicks

Grady Dewey Hicks, 84, of Lake Village, died June 10, 2006.

He was a member of the Methodist church; a World War II Army veteran, Commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars in Lake Village and a salesman.

He is survived by his son, Thomas Hicks of Lake Village; stepsons, David Dingler of Columbia, MO, and Robert Dingler of Sherwood; brothers, Homer Hicks of Little Rock and John Hicks of Eudora; sister, Ann Carolyn Smith of Southaven, MS; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held June 13 in the chapel of Bishop Funeral Home in Lake Village. Burial was in Lake Village cemetery.

Donald L. Rapp

Donald Langford Rapp, 86, a long time resident of Sherwood, died June 11, 2006. He was a World War II veteran and retired in 1978 from the Little Rock Veterans Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Brunner Rapp; daughter, Zanya Clarkson of Cabot; son, Jay of Memphis; twin grandsons; brothers, Harold and Leonard of Springfield, MO; sisters, Ivon Gold of Chesapeake, MO, Mae Sullivan of Clever, MO, and Eva Lee Beall of New Mexico; half-brothers, Jack, Joe and Bill Rapp; half-sisters, Mary Lou Soutee, Charlotte Lawson, and Janice Greiner, all from the Springfield, MO area.
A memorial service was held 11 a.m., Thurs., June 15, in the Gazebo at the Arkansas State Veterans cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Arkansas, 10411 W. Markham, Suite 130, Little Rock, Ark. 72205 or to Arkansas Hospice, 5600 W. 12th, Little Rock, Ark. 72204.

Walker M. Watson

Walker Millard Watson, 84, of Sherwood, died June 11, 2006. He retired from the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Dept. after 30 years. He was a member of Baring Cross Baptist Church, a tail gunner instructor for Army Air Force, and a member of the Pulaski County Singing Club.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mildred “Dotson” Watson; daughter, Kathleen Crumby; son, James Walker Watson, all of Sherwood; sister, Twyla Stewart of Dallas, TX; brother, Ray B. Watson of Foreman, and Hoyt F. Watson of Argyle, TX; five grandsons and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held June 14 at Baring Cross Baptist Church. Burial was in Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to Baring Cross Baptist Church Building Fund, 7541 Warden Road, Sherwood, AR 72120.

Arrangements were by North Little Rock Funeral Home.

Jonnie Hall

Jonnie Hall, 79, of Marianna, died June 10, 2006. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Alvin Hall of Marianna; daughter, Nancy Hall Adaus of Sherwood; son, David Hall of Harrison; brother, Brent Spense of Bradford; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held at Forrest Memorial Park in Forrest City by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in Marianna.

Pauline V. Rollins

Pauline V. Rollins, 86, of England, died June 12, 2006. She was a member of Landmark Baptist Church and a Sunday school teacher for many years.

She is survived by her son, James Rollins of England; daughter, Barbara Claussen of Sherwood; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sisters, Pearl Henderson Sears and Opal Rollins.

Funeral services were Thurs., June 15, at Roller-England Funeral Home, with burial at Mulberry cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Landmark Baptist Church.

Raymond Chandler

Raymond Chandler, 89, of Jacksonville, died June 14, 2006. He was a retired farmer and mechanic and a Methodist.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dollie; son, Jack; daughters, Shirley Sena formerly of Sherwood, Lenora and Barbara; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Sat., June 17, 11 a.m., at Lost Corner cemetery near Cleveland in Conway County. Open visitation will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Huson Funeral Home, 7700 Hwy. 107, Sherwood.

Inez Eggerson

Inez Eggerson, 81, of Little Rock, died June 13, 2006.

Survivors include her sons, Irby, Jessie, and Tommy Eggerson of Little Rock; daughters, Dorothy Williams of Atlanta, GA, and E. “Dianne” Woodley of Little Rock; sister, Idella Sublett of Kansas City, KS; brothers, John Ansley of Chicago, IL, and Willie Ansley of Sherwood; 21 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.

Home-going service will be held Sat., June 17, 2:30 p.m., at Great Second Baptist Church, 5615 Geyer Springs Road, Little Rock. Interment will follow at Arkansas Memorial Gardens, North Little Rock. Viewing will be Fri., June 16, 3-6 p.m., at Ruffin & Jarrett Funeral Home, 1200 Chester, Little Rock.

Howard McMinn

Howard O’Neal McMinn, 80, of Wynne, died June 12, 2006. He retired after 35 years with Entergy and was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Mildred Martin McMinn of the home; son, John David McMinn of Sherwood; daughters, Becki Moore of Little Rock, and Micki Allder of Fayetteville; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Thurs., Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home Wynne Chapel.

Interment was at Cogbill cemetery.

Gladys M. Snyder

Gladys M. Snyder, 90, of Jacksonville, formerly of Atkins, died June 8, 2006.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Malcom of Sherwood; two granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held June 12 at Lemley Funeral Chapel in Atkins.

Angela Marie Burnside
Angela Marie Burnside, 39, of Hoxie, died July 3, 2006, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, following a sudden illness.

Born June 2, 1967, in Los Angeles, she was an administrative assistant, a homemaker and was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include her husband, Todd Burnside; three sons, Michael Lawrence, Oceanside, Calif., and Mark Lawrence and Matthew Burnside, both of the home; her father and stepmother, George and Laurie Hernandez, Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; her mother and stepfather, Mary Catherine and Scott Brooks, Escondido, Calif.; and three brothers, George Hernandez, Houston, Michael Hernandez, Riverside, Calif., and Steven Hernandez, Hawaii.

Rosary was Friday at 7 p.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Deacon Marlyn Tate officiating. The body was cremated. Bryan Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Ruth Ann Cox
Ruth Ann Cox, 70, of Wichita, Kan., formerly of Walnut Ridge, died July 1, 2006, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

She had lived in Little Rock before moving to Wichita in 1978. She was a retired nurse and a member of Christ The King Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

Survivors include her husband, Edgar Cox; a daughter, Cecelia Simons, Wichita; and a sister, Earnestine Gorend, Salina, Kan.

Funeral was Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Old Walnut Ridge Baptist Church with Wade Drury officiating. Burial was in Austin cemetery under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home.

William L. "Buddy" Eaves Jr.
William L. "Buddy" Eaves Jr., 61, of Hoxie, died July 8, 2006, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro.

He had lived at Alicia before moving to Hoxie 34 years ago. He was a retired truck driver and a Methodist.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Benny Eaves.

Survivors include his wife, Lynda Eaves; a daughter, Carrie Leeann Eaves, Paragould; a son, Buddy Joe Eaves, Hoxie; and a sister, Sue Powell, New Mexico.

Funeral was Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the House-Gregg Chapel with Rev. Dale Hughart officiating. Burial was in Strangers Home cemetery at Alicia under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Steve Whitaker, Junior Harp, Warren Fender, Darrell Steele, Dwight Ellis and Chris Harper.

Jackie Earl Glenn
Jackie Earl Glenn, 64, of Fisher, father of Cindy Campbell of Hoxie, died July 9, 2006, at his home. Burial was Tuesday in Crosslawn cemetery under the direction of Kernodle Funeral Home of Wynn.

Richard Franklin Huffman
Richard Franklin Huffman, 84, of Cash, died July 5, 2006, at Woodbriar Nursing Home in Harrisburg. He was a retired farmer and had lived at Light before moving to Cash. He was of the Baptist belief.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Sisco Huffman; a daughter, Effie Diane Huffman; three brothers, Elmer Huffman, Melvin Huffman and George Huffman; and three sisters, Hazel Liles, Myrtle Huffman and Tilda Palmer.

Survivors include a son, Rick Huffman, Harrisburg; two daughters, Ozella Williams and Florine Renck, both of Jonesboro; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Friday at 10 a.m. in the House-Gregg Chapel with Butch Parks officiating. Burial was in Moore cemetery at Stanford under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Jeff Sisco, William Sisco, Danny Gifford, Rick Huffman, Mark Huffman and Taylor Huffman. Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Osterman and Randall Dillinger.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to Arkansas Children's Hospital.

Renee Jackson
Renee Jackson, 62, of Jonesboro, formerly of Hoxie, died July 3, 2006, at her home.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Dillard, Long Beach, Calif., and Robert McCall, Hoxie; her mother, Evelyn James-Skeen, Jonesboro; and a brother, Julian James, Jonesboro.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Langford-Bookout Funeral Home of Jonesboro has charge of arrangements.
