Bud Tolson
Enos A. "Bud" Tolson, 85, of Walnut Ridge, died July 30, 2006, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro, following a short illness.

Born Aug. 20, 1920, in Walnut Ridge, he was the son of Enos C. and Edith Pauline Parrish Tolson. He was a World War II Army veteran and co-owned and operated Tolson Motor Company in Walnut Ridge. He was a deacon and dedicated member of First Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James Parrish Tolson.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita Miller Tolson, whom he married Sept. 16, 1945; two sons, Wendell Tolson, Walnut Ridge, and Michael Tolson, San Francisco; three daughters, Sharon Spades, Doniphan, Mo., Darla McEntire, Walnut Ridge, and Mary Margaret Davis, North Little Rock; a brother, Bill Tolson, Walnut Ridge; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral is today at noon at First Baptist Church with Bros. Mark Harris and Jim Tillman officiating. Burial will be in Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Roberts, Steve Ditto, Larry Forrester, Rigo Reyes, Adam Boyd, Vaughn Andrews, Stefan Morgan and Clint Adams. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacon Fellowship and Herman Shaw.

Iva A. Waddell
Iva A. Waddell, 70, of Imboden, died July 27, 2006, at her home.

Born Dec. 27, 1935, in Memphis, she was a homemaker, a substitute teacher at Sloan-Hendrix School, a former employee of Cinch Manufacturing in Pocahontas and a member of the Methodist Church of Imboden.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lilla Gene Waddell; her parents, Melvin and Lilla Burgess Downing; her birth mother, Katy Lou Burke; and a sister, Shirley.

Survivors include her husband, Lawrence Vance Waddell Jr., whom she married May 29, 1955; two sons, Lawrence Vance (L. Van) Waddell III, Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Anthony Waddell, Imboden; two daughters, Adella Bookout, Smithville, and Angela Perrin, Imboden; three brothers, Gene Wilburn, Don Wilburn and Jim Watts, all of Phoenix; seven grandchildren, Erica, Miranda, Kandace, Samantha, Lance, Taylor and Logan; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Sunday at 2 p.m., at the Methodist Church of Imboden with Rev. Ron Kitchens officiating. Burial was in Hope cemetery at Imboden under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Mike Holland, Mitch Walton, Gevan Murphy, Larry Steele, Jim Jones and Steve Jones. Honorary pallbearers were Barney Perrin, Johnny Bookout, Lance Waddell, Logan Waddell, Dallas House, Frank Kindelberger and Linny Finney.

Thelma Wewers
Thelma Louise Wewers, 67, of Jonesboro, died July 26, 2006, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro.

Born at Alicia, she lived in Northeast Arkansas most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Old Enterprise Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, A.W. "Ollie" Wewers; her parents, Henry Edward and Helen Cook Arnold; two brothers, John Arnold and Lewis "Richard" Arnold; and a grandchild, Ronnie Gene Wewers Jr.

Survivors include a son, Ronnie Wewers, Jonesboro; a daughter, Teresa Cope, Jonesboro; two brothers, Glen Arnold and Jimmy Arnold, both of Jonesboro; three sisters, Mary Cogburn, Jonesboro, Sharon Wewers, Sedgwick, and Linda Goad, Mellwood; and three grandchildren, Sara Wewers, Jacob Monroe and Kristie Monroe.

Funeral was Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Roller-Farmers Union Chapel with Zane Gragg officiating. Burial was in Old Enterprise cemetery under the direction of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Barry Wewers, Louis Wewers, Chris Wewers, Bobby Ring, Blake Lamberson and Tommy Cox. Honorary pallbearers were Darrin Scott Warren, Steve Arnold and Gary Arnold.

Memorials may be made to Old Enterprise cemetery Fund or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Jean L. Bobo
Jean L. Bobo, 79, of Boyne City, Mich., died Aug. 22, 2006, at her home.

Born March 23, 1927, at Alicia, she was the daughter of O.B. and elza Ross Freeman.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Delora estes.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Wilgus Bobo, whom she married Aug. 2, 1947, in Jonesboro; a son, Michael Bobo, Flint, Mich.; two brothers, Bill Freeman and Liburn Freeman; and two grandchildren, Zane Bobo and evan Bobo.

Graveside service was Thursday at evangeline Township cemetery with Nancy Rohde officiating. Stackus Funeral Home of Boyne City had charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Marge Files
Marge Files, 83, of Orlando, Fla., formerly of Walnut Ridge, died Aug. 23, 2006.

She was preceded in death by her husband, C.W. Files.

Survivors include a daughter, Janet Dillport, Orlando; and a granddaughter, emily Dillport.

A memorial service was Sunday in Orlando. Burial will be in Poplar Bluff, Mo., at a later date.

Jewell Doyne Hayes
Jewell Doyne Hayes, 62, of Sedgwick, died Aug. 25, 2006.

Born Sept. 2, 1943, in Rector, he lived and worked in the Sedgwick area for almost 30 years and was a member of Main Street Church of Christ.

He enlisted into the United States Army in 1964 and served during the Vietnam War, where his service and actions earned him a Silver Star, Bronze Star, three Purple Hearts, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, nine Air Medals, a Good Conduct Medal, an Army Service Medal, an Army Overseas Medal, the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, the Vietnam Service Medal, Airborne Wings and Army Aviator Wings.

During his time in the Army, he served with the 1st Infantry Division, the 9th infantry Division, the 2/54 Field Artillery Division, the 2nd and 3rd Rangers, the 75th Ranger Regiment and the 5th Special Forces Group. After his service in Vietnam, he served as an OCS Instructor and later received an MBA from the University of Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Mozell Smith Hayes; and a sister, Shelia Ann Hayes Bowman.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Dana Wimberly Hayes; a son, Joel Hayes, Rector; a daughter, Jana Hayes Schimming, Peach Orchard; a brother, Thomas I. Hayes, Paragould; and two grandchildren, Jacob Hayes and Audrey Schimming.

Funeral was Monday at 10 a.m. at Fifth & Pine Church of Christ in Rector with Bro. Ken Roden and Rob Combs officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights cemetery at Rector under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home of Rector.

Memorials may be made to the Paragould Children's Home or Disabled American Veterans.

Pat Johnson

Pat Johnson, 60, of Sherwood died Sunday, June 18.

She is survived by her husband, Boyd Johnson; brother Hubert Evans of Lonoke; and sisters Mildred Berry of Sherwood, Kaye Donham of Benton, and Faye Hubbard of Sherwood.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 21, at Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Sherwood, with burial in Old Austin cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or Victory Missionary Baptist Church.

Imogene Moore

Imogene McGuire Moore, 81, of Little Rock died Friday, June 16. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock.

Survivors include her daughters, La Donna Straley and Sara Daugherty, both of Little Rock, and Sondra Smart of El Dorado; sisters Lucy Liles of Sherwood and LaVerne McNabb of Omaha, Neb.; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 19, at Immanuel Baptist Church. Burial followed in Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to the music ministry or the Elizabeth Sunday School Class at Immanuel Baptist Church.

Iva Dean Pauschert

Iva Dean Pauschert, 76, of Searcy died Friday, June 16. She was a member of the Hickory Ridge Methodist Church.

Survivors include her son, Eddie Lee Pauschert of Winnsboro, Texas; brother John Corder of Beebe; sisters Rachel Gunn of Ward, Ann Wilson of Greers Ferry, and Lois Havard of Sherwood; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services were held June 19 at Carlisle cemetery.

Robert L. Lewis

Robert L. Lewis, 70, died Thursday, June 15. He was Southern Baptist minister and served as assistant pastor at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church of Jacksonville for many years, and was the first black elected as a Jacksonville alderman.

Survivors include his wife, Lendy; children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; brothers George Corbin Jr., Lannie, James, Dave, Willie, John Henry, Michael, Jimmy, Louis Ray, Marshall and L.C.; and sisters, Georgette, Roscellia and Carolyn.

A wake and prayer service was held Wednesday, June 21, at the Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Chapel in North Little Rock, with funeral services Thursday, June 22, at McArthur Assembly of God Church in Jacksonville. Burial was in Rest Hills Memorial Park.

Harold A. Kohnert

Harold A. Kohnert, 86, of Las Vegas, Nev., died Saturday, June 10. He was a retired lieutenant colonel with the U.S. Air Force, former squadron commander for the missile wing at Little Rock Air Force, and was a real estate broker for 25 years.

He is survived by his wife Lois of Las Vegas; daughters Arjyra Jarie Stedman-Ebert of Manteo, N.C., and Jana Kohnert and Hallie Ridenbaugh, both of Las Vegas; sister Ella Black of Texas; and three grandchildren.

Burial was at the Arkansas State Veterans cemetery in Sherwood.

Memorials can be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation.

Jewell G. Larson

Jewell Gladys Larson, 86, of Lonoke died Sunday, June 18. She was a member of Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church in North Little Rock, a retired secretary, and a graduate of Lonoke High School and Draughon’s School of Business.

She is survived by her son, James P. Larson; sister, Minnie Moon of North Little Rock; two grandsons and two step-grandsons.

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 22, at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel in North Little Rock, with the Rev. Craig Loibner officiating. Interment followed at Concord cemetery in Lonoke.

George W. Hyde
George W. Hyde, 97, of Paragould, formerly of the Coffman community, grandfather of Kim Tippy of Imboden, died Aug. 27, 2006. Funeral is today at 10 a.m. at Heath Colonial Chapel in Paragould with Weldon Parkinson officiating. Burial will be in Finch cemetery.

Clyde Johnson
Clyde Johnson, 89, of Memphis, brother of Woodrow Johnson of Strawberry, died Aug. 23, 2006, at his home. Burial was in evening Shade cemetery at evening Shade under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Thomas Douglas McQuay
Thomas Douglas "Doug" McQuay, 63, of Bono, died Aug. 26, 2006, at his home.

Born at egypt, he worked part-time for Continental Computers in Jonesboro after retiring from Baldwin Pianos after 17 years. He attended Calvary United Pentecostal Church.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Venita McQuay; a daughter, erin McQuay; his parents, Ludie and Viola McQuay; a brother, Kenneth McQuay; and two sisters, Darlene Kelly and Beulah McQuay.

Survivors include his wife, Lynda King McQuay; three sons, Darrin McQuay, Tennessee, Tim McQuay, Alabama, and Jonathan McQuay, Pocahontas; two daughters, Sandra McQuay, Trumann, and Lisa McQuay, Jonesboro; a stepson, Chris Ford, Jonesboro; a stepdaughter, Patsy Montgomery, Mesa, Ariz.; two brothers, William McQuay, Texas, and Phil McQuay, Kansas; four sisters, Wanda Powers and Annabelle Lowery, both of Walnut Ridge, Connie Rook, Hughes, and Sherry Deatherage, Jonesboro; five grandchildren, Sha McQuay, Ben McQuay, Mia McQuay, Cody Gilbert and Riley Gilbert.

Funeral is today at 1 p.m. in the Roller-Farmers Union Chapel with William Holt and John Chance officiating. Burial will be in Pine Log cemetery under the direction of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Pallbearers will be David Dowdy, Tommy Jordon, Ronnie Murphy, Brandon Pettit, Dustin Carpenter and Brian emmons. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Richardson, Jerry Pettit, Willie Rodgers and the brothers of Bono Revival Tabernacle Church.
