enos Pollard, 86, of Rector, father of Carol Sue Brown of Ravenden, died Aug. 25, 2006, at Piggott Community Hospital. Burial was Monday in Nimmons cemetery at Nimmons under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home of Rector. An online guestbook is available at www.mitchellfuneralhomes.com.

Lucy Francis Pollock
Lucy Francis Pollock, 88, of Walnut Ridge, formerly of Bono, died Aug. 23, 2006, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 17, 1918, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of exzeb and Christy Davis Rosselot.

She was preceded in death by her husband, ernest Pollock, whom she married June 15, 1937, in Greene County.

Survivors include two sons, Arlin Pollock, Walnut Corner, and Charles Dean Pollock, Walcott; 11 grandchildren, Terry Pollock, Gary Pollock, Rickey Pollock, Jimmy Pollock, Connie Watson, Clifford Watson, Angela Watson, Belinda Crawford, Phillip Pollock, Sarah Slater and Tim Pollock; 27 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside service was Saturday at 10 a.m. at Mt. Zion cemetery, near Walcott, under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Service.

Lucille Selsor Robert
Lucille Selsor Robert, 92, of Albuquerque, N.M., died Aug. 26, 2006.

Born in the Lauratown community, she attended school at Hoxie. She and her husband operated the Red Star Cafe in Hoxie for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert; and a son, Gene Robert.

Survivors include a sister, Beatrice Fitzgerald, Albuquerque.

Funeral was Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at French's Mortuary in Albuquerque. A graveside service will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Jonesboro Memorial Park on Harrisburg Road.

James J. Pace
James J. Pace, 78, of Arnold, Mo., died Dec. 13, 2006, at St. Anthony's Medical Center in St. Louis.

Born Aug. 8, 1928, at Calvin Crossing in Lawrence County, he was the son of Floyd and Mable Vinson Pace. He was a construction worker and a member of the ROC Ministries.

Survivors include his wife, Geraldine "Jo" Pace; sons, James R. Pace and Joseph Lynn Pace, both St. Louis, and J. Dan Pace, South Carolina; three sisters, Mozelle Williams, Festus, Mo., Jenny Phillips, Walnut Ridge, and Jodell Smith, San Diego; four brothers, Bob Pace and Edward Pace, both of Walnut Ridge, and Wendell Pace and Freddie Pace, both of St. Louis; and four grandchildren, Deanna McGuire, Kelly Pace, Jason Pace and Sarah Pace.

Funeral was Saturday, Dec. 16, at Bryan Chapel with Rev. David Pitts officiating. Burial was in Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Bob Pace, Edward Pace, Wendell Pace, Freddie Pace, Morris Phillips and Chris Pace.

Allen Dale Robins
Allen Dale Robins of Austin, Texas, died Dec. 23, 2006.

He was born Feb. 22, 1962, in St. Charles, Mo.

Survivors include his wife, Michelle Robins; two sons, Justin Allen Robins and Brandon Michael Robins; his father, Joe Robins, Strawberry; two sisters, Pam Jessup, Shepherd, Texas, and Tonya Godden, Omaha, Neb.; and three brothers, Edward Robins, Las Vegas, Bryan Robins, Strawberry, and Chris Patterson, Omaha, Neb.

Funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Church of Glad Tidings in Austin, Texas.

Linda Riley Rogers
Linda Riley Rogers, 57, of Walnut Ridge, died Dec. 20, 2006, at her home.

She was a homemaker and had lived most of her life in the Walnut Ridge area.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Riley.

Survivors include her husband, Ray Rogers; three daughters, Nicole Rogers, of the home, Tammie Martin, West Memphis, and Kristi Smith, Pocahontas; a son, Bert Land Jr., Maynard; her mother, Sarah McLendon Hernandez, Columbus, Ga.; two sisters, Pat Young and Ana Little; two brothers, Robert Riley and Lee Riley; three half-brothers; and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral was Friday at 10 a.m. at the House-Gregg Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. Burial was in Bellah cemetery near Ravenden Springs.

Pallbearers were Bert Land Jr., Patrick Smith, Terrance Walton, James Johnson, Donald Atkinson and Bill Land Jr.

Gary L. Boyles

Gary L. Boyles, age 55 of Lonoke, went to be with the Lord Thursday, June 1, 2006 after a long battle with cancer. He was born March 23, 1951 in Little Rock. Gary was a dedicated employee of Remington Arms Inc. in Lonoke for 34 years where he worked his way up to shift supervisor. He was a proud graduate of Lonoke High School and a dedicated Jackrabbit. He played on the 1969 state champions in baseball and basketball and was captain of the undefeated Jackrabbit football team. Gary also ran track, played in the band and was president of his class. Gary would say, “The way of a leader is long and hard.” Gary attended Arkansas Tech where he played football before starting his career at Remington Arms Inc. Gary was a member of the Masonic Lodge #51 in Lonoke and Lonoke First United Methodist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to have a large time with friends. Most of all Gary was a devoted husband, a loving father and proud son. Gary was a team player and loved by all.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jimmie Cheek Boyles; his daughter, Tammy Rowe of Sherwood; one son Matt Boyles, daughter-in-law Janette, and a grandson to be of Lonoke; his parents, Pete W. and Regina Boyles of Lonoke; brothers, Harrell (Renee) Boyles of Bryant and Brad (Debbie) Boyles of Arlington, Texas; sisters, Tanya (Ted) Hensley and Tina Boyles of Lonoke and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 4 at Lonoke First United Methodist Church, arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke . Burial followed in Concord cemetery. The family received friends 4-7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lonoke First United Methodist Church.

Melba Sue Woodson

Melba Sue Woodson, 62, of Sherwood, died May 31, 2006.

She retired from Pinellas County government in Florida.

She is survived by her mother Pauline and her husband Edgar Short; children, Kimberly De-Vary, and Michael Cundiff; grandchildren; sisters, Ruby Sanderson, and Julie Davis.

The family request no services. Memorials may be sent to Arkansas Hospice, 5600 W. 12th St., Little Rock, Ark. 72204.

Donnas D. Paul

Donnas Deanna Gennings Paul, 66, of Maumelle died June 5, 2006. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had worked as an interior designer at Norwalk Furniture Center.

She is survived by her sons, Larry, and Clead Payne, both of Conway; daughters, Debby Spradlin of Sherwood and Lisa Boykin of Conway; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Nadine Hedges of Batesville.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Fri., June 9, at Huson Funeral Home Chapel, 7700 Hwy. 107 in Sherwood. Bishop Jerry Johnson will officiate. Interment will be at Oaklawn cemetery in Batesville.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thurs., June 8, at the funeral home.

Mary Elizabeth Akin

Mary Elizabeth Akin, 91, of North Little Rock, died June 5, 2006.

She is survived by her son, William “Billy” Akin, of Jacksonville; and two grandsons.

A graveside service was Wed., June 7, at Bayou Meto cemetery in Jacksonville. Arrangements by Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home in North Little Rock.

Bobby J. Thompson

Bobby Joe Thompson, 72, of Sherwood, died June 2, 2006.

He is survived by his son, Larry Thompson of Sherwood; daughters, Linda Thompson of Tampa, FL, and Sand Lathrup of Galena, MO; sister, Jane Duby of Branson, MO; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held June 5 at Marshall Road Baptist Church in Jacksonville. Arrangements were made through Huson Funeral Home in Sherwood.

Herbert R. Bobo, Sr.

Herbert Randall Bobo, Sr., 57, of Jacksonville, died June 3, 2006.

He is survived by his son, Randy; daughter, Renee both of Texas; brothers, Louis and Mitchell; stepchildren, Blair, Alyce and Ricky; three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held June 6 at Huson Funeral Home Chapel in Sherwood, with interment in Oak Grove cemetery in Conway.

Loretta M. McQueen

Loretta Marie McQueen, of Sherwood/Cabot, died April 27, 2006.

She is survived by her children Jean, Joan and June Warner, Cindy Conto and David McGuire all of Wisconsin, and Rick and Doug Dillman of Cabot, Lori Dillman of Iowa and Brian McGuire of North Little Rock; 20 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Bruch, and Marie Radtke; and brother Edwin Wanners.

Funeral services were held May 1 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home in North Little Rock.

Lester Hammaker

Lester Hammaker, 90, of Hot Springs, died April 26, 2006. He was retired from U.S. Navy and Arkansas Gazette.

Survivors include his son Chris Hammaker; daughter Elissa McMahon; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Camp Quality Arkansas in memory of great-granddaughter Breanna Hammaker, 105 Springs Oak Drive, Sherwood, Ark. 72120.

Carolyn C. Howell

Carolyn C. Howell, 80, of Sherwood, died April 30, 2006.

She is survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was a longtime member of Baring Cross Baptist Church.

Graveside services were held May 2 at Edgewood Memorial Park in North Little Rock. Arrangements were by Roller-Owens Funeral Home.

MSgt. M. Magarity

MSgt. Morrell “Mac” Magarity, 84, Leanna, TN, died April 29, 2006. He retired from the U.S. Air Force with 24 years of service mainly at Sewart Air Force Base in Smyrna, TN, and was a Master Mason, Air Force One, Lodge #889 in Alabama.

He is survived by his son, Harry Magarity of Tennessee; daughters, Karen Davis of Tennessee and Dority Wesley of San Diego, CA; stepchildren, Pat Kinney of Maumelle, LeRoy McCallie of Sherwood, Ralph McCallie of Oklahoma, Soozi Sonheim of Chicago, IL, and Stevie McCallie of North Little Rock; brothers, Chester Magarity of Jackson, MS, and Robert Magarity of Georgetown, GA.

Memorial services were held Thurs., May 4, at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna, TN.

Bobby J. Franklin

Bobby James Franklin, 74, of North Little Rock, died May 3, 2006.

He was a locomotive Engineer for Rock Island Railroad and retired from Amtrak. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, and was a member of Levy Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Sue Franklin of 55 years of North Little Rock; son, Bobby J. Franklin, Jr., of Alexander; daughter, Linda K. Brown of Sherwood; sisters, Billie Anderson East Moline, IL; and Bettie Nutter of Conroe, TX; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thurs., May 4, at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, Ark. 72117.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Fri., May 5, at Levy Baptist Church, 3501 Pike Ave., North Little Rock, Ark., with Bro. Steve Tiner officiating.

Interment is at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Memorial Park.

Memorials can be made to Arkansas Hospice, 5000 West 12th St., Little Rock, Ark. 72204.
