Carolyn Ann Moseley

Carolyn Ann Moseley, age 60, of Stamps, Arkansas died Sunday, February 20, 2005 at her residence. She was born March 6, 1944 in Patmos, Arkansas. Mrs. Moseley was a homemaker and was a member of The Jimmy Swaggert Ministries.

She is survived by: her husband, Glenn Moseley of Stamps; one son, James Bryan Loe of Canton, TX; three daughters, Kimberly Lynn West and Sharon Kay Brown, both of Arkadelphia, AR and Tanya Larae Dudley of Lewisville; two brothers, Glendon Cox of Hope, AR and Travis Cox of Patmos; two sisters, Ruby Nell Brown Chew of Stockton, CA and Norma Jean Waller of Farris, OK; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at The Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Russell officiating and burial in Patmos cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.

Troy Gene Woods

Troy Gene Woods, age 47, of Stamps, Arkansas passed away Saturday, February 5, 2005 at his home. He was born in Florence, Alabama on May 7, 1957. Mr. Woods worked at Abilities Unlimited in Magnolia, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his father, James Woods and brother, Terry Woods.

Survivors include: his mother, Linnie Woods of Stamps; two brothers, James Ralph Woods of Florence, AL and Ben Woods of Waterloo, AL; two sisters, June & C.G. Olive of Stamps and Eula Mae Balentine of Shreveport, LA; numerous nieces & nephews.

Funeral services were scheduled to be held at Oak Grove Church in Florence, Alabama.

Barbara J. Rose

Barbara Joan Rose, age 57, of Texarkana, Texas died Monday, January 31, 2005 in a Houston, Texas hospital. Barbara was born July 9, 1947 in Negaunee, Michigan. She was owner/operator of Barbara's Fashions in Texarkana and Jenna's Fashions in Stamps, Arkansas. She was a member of Service Sunday School Class and Hardy memorial United Methodist Church.

She is survived by: her husband, Larry Rose of Texarkana; two sons, Chris Rose and Scott Rose of Texarkana; her mother, Stella Ark of Texarkana; four sisters, Eileen Tidwell of Texarkana, Kathy Whistle of Queen City, TX, Julie Seppanen of Michigamme, MI and Nancy Bledso of New Orleans, LA; one brother, Dale Ark of Texarkana; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Crystal and Lilly Rose; a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, February 3, 2005 at Chapelwood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Garry Masterson officiating and burial in Red Lick cemetery.

Nathan Nicholas

Nathan Nicholas, age 60, of Stamps, Arkansas died Sunday, January 30, 2005 at the Magnolia Hospital. He was born August 30, 1944 in Lafayette County, Arkansas. Mr. Nicholas was a Wood Craftsman, worked for Southwestern Bell for nineteen years, past member of Jaycees and a volunteer Fireman. He was preceded in death by: his mother, Murleen Nicholas; son, Thomas Edward Nicholas; wife, Frances Nicholas; and brother, Reuben Nicholas.

He is survived by: two sons & daughter-in-law, Neil Nicholas of Stamps and Wayne & Gayla Nicholas of Frisco, TX; two daughters & sons-in-law, Anna & Rick Bowman of Sumter, SC and Heather & Ronnie Creech of Stamps; father, Edward Nicholas of Stamps; brother & sister-in-law, David & June Nicholas of Stamps; sister & brother-in-law, Judy & Earl Clark of Stamps; ten grandchildren, Todd, Amber, Justin, Caylon, Cory, Drew, Nate, Joshua, Peyton & Sarah.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with Bro. Todd Pickard officiating and burial in Lakeside cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.

Myrtle Pinkston

Myrtle Pinkston, age 93, of Stamps, Arkansas died Wednesday, January 19, 2005 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She was born December 19, 1911 in Camden, Arkansas. Mrs. Pinkston was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Stamps for over fifty years and would boast that she was the oldest member of the church. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Claude Pinkston; two grandsons, Jay Sutton and Billy Sutton; one great grandchild, Christopher J. Sutton.

She is survived by: one son, Charles (Buddy) Pinkston of Port Allen, LA; two daughters, Barbara Minter of Nash, TX and Edith McMaster of Arkadelphia, AR; one brother, J.B. Romack of Bossier City, LA; nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 22, 2005 at The Smith Funeral Home in Stamps with Bro. Wayne Johnston and Bro. John Force officiating and burial in Lakeside cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.

Jane Spivey

Jane Spivey, age 62, of Buckner, Arkansas died Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at St. Michaels Hospital in Texarkana, Texas. She was born March 17, 1942 in Columbia County, Arkansas. Mrs. Spivey was a homemaker, retired from Alan White Company, a Baptist, and was preceded in death by two sons, Ronald Edward Spivey and Wayne Spivey and by her parents, George & Rosa Sneed.

She is survived by: her husband, Huey Spivey of Buckner; daughter & son-in-law, Nita & Robert Lewis of Buckner; daughter-in-law, Lesby & husband, Raymond Garland of Buckner; brother, Kenneth & Doris Sneed of Hot Springs, AR; four grandchildren, Jamie & Lonnie Teague, Jr., of Stamps, AR, Russell & Tiffany Spivey of Magnolia, AR, Jennifer Spivey of Buckner, and Steven Lewis of Buckner; two great grandchildren, Kaylie Spivey of Magnolia and Hayden Teague of Stamps.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 21, 2005 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with Bro. Charles Leslie and Bro. Charlie Warren officiating and burial in Buckner cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.

Casey Lee Jones

Casey Lee Jones, age 85,of Lewisville, Arkansas died Sunday January 16, 2005 at St. Michaels Hospital in Texarkana, Texas. He was born January 18, 1919 in Lewisville. Mr. Jones was Operator of Lewisville Builders Supply and was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Jones.

He is survived by: son & daughter-in-law, Russell & Melody Jones of Lewisville; daughter & son-in-law, Pat & Jack Webb of El Dorado, AR; sister, Gladys Nations of Springs, TX; three grandchildren, Carter Jones, Jacki Webb, and Patrick Webb.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 on Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at Smith Funeral Home in Stamps with burial in Wilson cemetery at Lewisville under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.

Thomas Allen Cockerham

Thomas Allen Cockerham, age 69, of New Boston, Texas formerly of Stamps, Arkansas died Friday, January 14, 2005 in a New Boston Nursing Home. He was born March 17, 1935 in Jena, Louisiana. Mr. Cockerham was a retired truck driver, member of The American Legion in New Boston, Texas, member of The Calvary Baptist Church in Stamps and was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Jo McDonald Cockerham.

He is survived by: two sons & daughters-in-law, Rodney & Debbie Cockerham of New Boston and Mark & Lisa Cockerham of League City, TX; brother & sister-in-law, Ken & Laura Cockerham of Sulphur Springs, TX; sister & brother-in-law, Virginia & Buster Brazzel of Stamps, AR; five grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at 11:00 am on Monday, January 17, 2005 at Lakeside cemetery in Stamps with Bro. Mike Turner officiating under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.

Nobie Turner Ward

Nobie Turner Ward, age 93, of Taft, CA formerly of Garland, AR died Thursday, January 13, 2005 in a Bakersfield, California Hospital. She was born June 19, 1911 in Louisiana. Mrs. Ward was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband Ivan Ward, one son Tommy Ward and a grandson Randy Johnson.

Survivors include: two sons & daughters-in-law, Don & Irene Ward of Garland, AR and Ronnie & Janie Ward of Taft, CA; one daughter & son-in-law, Elizabeth & Ralph Seward of Ft. Cobb, OK; twenty grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren, and ten great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at Genoa church of Christ with Rev. Leon Turner officiating and burial in the Genoa Church of Christ cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps, AR.

Johnny Gooch

Johnny Gooch, age 52, of Hope, Arkansas died at his residence on Monday, January 10, 2005. He was born November 27, 1952 in Waldo, Arkansas. Mr. Gooch was self employed handyman and a Baptist.

He is survived by: his wife, Amanda Gooch of Hope; mother & step-father, Pearl & Bill Rackley of Midwest City, OK; two sons, Tommy Gooch of Oklahoma City, OK and Steven Gooch of Edmond, OK; one daughter, Johnna Gooch of Dale City, OK; four brothers, Douglas Reeves of Blanchard, OK, James Reeves of Wellstop, Ok, Horace Andrew Gooch of Oklahoma City, OK and Frankie Darnell Gooch of Hope, AR; sister, Barbara Jean Hendricks of Portland, OR; three grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at The Mt. Vernon cemetery in Waldo, Arkansas with the Rev. Mike Turner officiating under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.

Virginia Coleman

Virginia Ederington Coleman, age 87, of Greenville, South Carolina formerly of Lewisville, Arkansas died Thursday, January 6, 2005 in Greenville, S.C. She was born in Banks, Arkansas. Mrs. Coleman was the daughter of the late Dillard Ederington and Laura McLeod Ederington and wife of the late C. Fred Coleman. She served with the Department of State at the American Embassy in Rome, Italy and worked in Washington DC for Congressman Oren Harris and David Pryor and Senator William J. Fulbright. She was a member of The Presbytarian Church in Lewisville.

She is survived by: sister & brother-in-law, Katie & Walter N. "Dubb" Roark of Greenville, SC; three nieces, Katie Roark of Houston, TX, Lauren Dean of Charleston, SC and Nancy Roark of Atlanta, GA; nephew, Nick Roark of Chaleston.

Graveside services were held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 13, 2005 at Wilson cemetery in Lewisville with Rev. Russell Bailey officiating under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps, AR.

Audrey M. Wells

Audrey M. Wells, age 101, of Lewisville, Arkansas died Sunday, January 2, 2005 in Texarkana, Texas. She was born May 29, 1903 in McNeil, Arkansas. Mrs. Wells was a member of The First United Methodist Church in Lewisville for ninety-three years, and a charter member of The Stamps & Lewisvile B&PW; Club, where she was named Citizen of the Year.

She is survived by: three sons & daughters-in-law, Frank & Ann Wells of Lewisville, John & Dot Wells of Hammond, LA, and Lewis & Gail Wells of Little Rock, AR; two daughters, Nettie Smith of Shreveport, LA and Kathleen Heath of Warwick, RI; brother & sister-in-law, Robert L. & Jacque Morris of Lewisville; sister-in-law, Mary Francis Morris of Texarkana, AR; ten grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces & nephews.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with the Rev. Russell Bailey officiating and burial in Wilson cemetery at Lewisville under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps, AR.

Arlene Mitchell Crank

Arlene Mitchell Crank, age 92, of Lewisville, Arkansas died Thursday, December 30, 2004 at the Fountain View Nursing Home in Springhill, Louisiana. She was born January 3, 1912 in Buckner, Arkansas. Mrs. Crank was a homemaker, a member of the Central Baptist Church in Springhill and was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Crank and a son, Bobby Crank.

She is survived by: one son & daughter-in-law, Hansel & Margaret Crank of Tyler, TX; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda & John Jackson of Springhill and Sandra & Larry Taylor of Tyler; brother, Doyle D. Mitchell of Texas City, TX; sister, Hazel Johnson of Idabel, OK; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 2, 2005 at The First Baptist Church in Lewisville with Dr. Ron Harvey and Rev. Kenneth Bobo officiating and burial in Wilson cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps, AR.

Henry Bascom Pipkin

Henry Bascom Pipkin lost his long and valiant battle with Parkinson’s Disease on December 27, 2004. He was born in Buckner, Arkansas, on July 1, 1921.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Susette Knight Pipkin; son, Mike; daughters, Donna Howington and husband Joe, Suzanne Harrison and husband Tim; grandchildren, Dana Ivie and husband Jon; Ryan Harrison and wife Stephanie; and loving nieces and nephews.

Henry had a long and successful career in the commercial tire business. He was an avid sports fan, hunter and fisherman. In later years, he enjoyed landscape painting and always loved to tell a joke or two.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 29, 2004, at 12:30 p.m. at Glenbrook United Methodist Church in Houston, TX with Rev. Stacy Pever Anzick officiating.
