Nora Lee Roussel
Nora Lee Woodruff Roussel, age 67, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Searcy.
She is survived by her mother, Ellie Woodruff Cantwell; four children, Pam Lowery of Sherwood, Michele Wasson of North Little Rock, Scott Roussel of Searcy, Phillip Roussel of Searcy; one sister, Dorothy Morgan; one brother, Kenneth Woodruff, all of Grubbs; 10 grandchildren.
A celebration of her life was held at Powell Funeral Home Wednesday, Jan. 30. Burial was in White County Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Arkansas Chapter, or the Arkansas Children’s Home.

Adam Bradly Conrad
Adam Bradly Conrad, age 91, of Sherwood, died Jan. 24, 2002.
He was a deacon at First Baptist Church of Sherwood; a volunteer at the Sherwood Fire Department where he retired from; and retired M.O.P. Railroad in North Little Rock.
He is survived by his wife, Ella Mae Conrad of the home; daughter, Barbara Bryant of San Antonio, Texas; stepsons, Hoyt A. Agee Jr. of Deberry, Texas, Adron G. Agee and Robert A. Agee, both of Sherwood; six grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; two sisters, Bessie Williams of McGehee, and Margret Tyson of Wesson, Miss.; and three brothers, Milton Conrad of Bastrop, La., Warren Conrad of Napa, CA, Jack Conrad of Tiller.
Funeral services were Jan. 26, at First Baptist Church of Sherwood. Burial was in Rest Hills Memorial Park. Arrangements by Griffin Leggett Rest Hills, North Little Rock.

Reid Huckeba
Reid Ralph Huckeba, age 48, of Bryant, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002.
He was a member of Highland Valley United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his mother, H. Christine Huckeba of Little Rock; his brother, Stuart C. Huckeba of Sherwood; son, Dustin Huckeba; and daughter, Amanda Huckeba.
A graveside service was held Jan. 28, at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to Highland Valley United Methodist Church, 15525 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Ark.

Genieva C. Martin
Genieva C. Martin, age 91, of Sherwood, died Jan. 23, 2002.
Survivors include a daughter, Kay Frances Faulkner of Sherwood; a son, J.W. Martin of Sherwood; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A gathering to celebrate her life was Jan. 26, at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth. Burial was in Forest Hills Memorial Park.

Sherrill Ross Thomason
Sherrill Ross Thomason, 61, of White Hall died Jan. 26, 2002.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and farmed in Kelso. He and his wife owned and operated Thomason’s Grocery in Pine Bluff.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Thomason; a daughter, Dwana Lee of McGehee; a son, Larry Duke of Pine Bluff; brothers, Larry Thomason of Sherwood and Norris Thomason of Granite City, Ill.; sisters, Barbara Mavity of Beebe, Mary Thomason of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Kay Jester of Pine Bluff; and three grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Ralph Robinson & Son in Pine Bluff, with burial in Memorial Park cemetery in White Hall.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Inc. of Pine Bluff or the American Cancer Society.

H.L. “Bud” Harshbarger
H.L. “Bud” Harshbarger, 72, of Cabot passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002.
Bud was a World War II Veteran and received the Japanese World War II Medal. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Hazel Harshbarger; one brother and two sisters.
Survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Mary Parks Harshbarger of Cabot; three daughters, Judy Cordell of Carlisle, Saundra Hutchins of Cabot, and Rhonda Doyle of Sherwood; two brothers, Marvin and Russell Harshbarger both of Indiana; five sisters, Gartha Webb, Shirley Coffman, and Debbie Harshbarger, all of Indiana, Delores Mitchell of Florida and Karen Coffman of Arizona; three grandchildren, Jody Anthony of Hazen, Cody Cordell of Benton, Cory Hutchins of Cabot; and one great-grandchild, Hannah Anthony of Hazen.
Visitation was 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2002 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services were at 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2002 Graveside at Arkansas Memorial Gardens in Jacksonville. Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home.

John “Bill” Smith
Retired MSgt John W. “Bill” Smith, 71, of North Little Rock died Jan. 18, 2002. He served during the Vietnam War with the United State Air Force and was a 32nd degree Mason.
He is survived by his wife, Bessie; six sons, Timothy of Shannon Hills, Michael of North Little Rock, Joey of Furlow, Dennis of North Little Rock, Calvin of Shannon Hills, and Alan of Furlow; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were Monday at Huson Funeral Home Chapel, Sherwood. Interment was in Butlerville cemetery, with full military and Masonic honors.

Ora Blasingame
Ora Willie Blasingame, 88, of Sherwood, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002 in Springdale.
She was co-owner of Blasingame Grocery in North Little Rock and was involved in real estate sales and rentals. She was an election poll worker for Pulaski County, pianist for Grace Baptist Church and a member of Sylvan Hills First Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters, Patsy Greer of Springdale and Linda Newton of Sherwood; one son Billy Blasingame of Alma; a sister, Georgia Webster of San Bernardino, CA; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at Pinecrest cemetery, Little Rock, by Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren. The family will visit with friends from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, North Little Rock.
Memorials mey be sent to Sylvan Hills United Methodist Church or Circle of Life Hospice, 610 E. Emma, Springdale, AR 72764.

Arthur L. Clay Jr.
Arthur L. Clay, Jr., 74, of North Little Rock died January 22.
He is survived by three sisters, Annie Wallace, Sue Finley and Katherine Moss; and a brother, Arvin Clay.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Kennerly cemetery in Roland. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Huson Funeral Home, Sherwood.

Jack Hunter
Jack William Hunter, 83, of Sherwood died Jan. 14, 2002.
He was retired from the U.S. Coast Guard and North Little Rock Police Department. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and Fraternal Order of Police.
Survivors include his children, Diane Christie of Little Rock, Carolyn Kinel of Sherwood and Dan Hunter of Shelbyville, Ky.; a sister, Dottie Hunter Waggoner of Little Rock; a brother, Luther Hunter of Pittsburg, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial was held Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, North Little Rock, with burial in Rest Hills Memorial Park. Roller-Owens Funeral Home of North Little Rock was in charge.
Memorials may be made to Westlake Living Center Family Council, 245 Indian Bay Dr., Sherwood.

Jack William Hunter
Jack William Hunter, 83, of Sherwood died Monday, Jan. 14, 2002.
He was retired from the U.S. Coast Guard and North Little Rock Police Department. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans and Fraternal Order of Police.
He is survived by two daughters, Diane Christie of Little Rock and Carolyn Kincl of Sherwood; one son, Dan Hunter of Shelbyville, Ky.; one sister, Dottie Hunter Waggoner of Little Rock; one brother, Luther Hunter of Pittsburgh, Pa.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Trecia Skinner
Trecia Antonacci Skinner, 82, of North Little Rock died Monday, Jan. 7, 2002.
She is survived by one sister, Marie M. Snyder of Sherwood.
Burial was January 10, at Calvary cemetery, Little Rock, with a memorial service to follow at Saint Anne’s Catholic Church, 6150 Remount Rd, North Little Rock. Funeral arrangements by Griffin Leggett Rest Hills.
Donations may be made to Saint Anne’s or St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Helen Ponikvar
Helen Louise Ponikvar, 83, of Sherwood died Tuesday.
She was a member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church of Sherwood.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Creech of Sherwood and one son, John R. Ponikvar of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was Saturday at Roller-Owens Funeral Home in No. Little Rock. Interment was in Pinecrest Memorial Park, Alexander.
