Dallas Edward Pollaski
Dallas Edward Pollaski, age 64, of Fairfied Bay, died Thursday, October 31, 2002, in Little Rock. He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Upon retirement he and his wife Mary moved to Fairfield Bay in 1997.
Dallas is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Louise Carlson Pollaski of Fairfield Bay, one son Roger Pollaski and wife Danya of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, one daughter Kimberly Waring and husband Christopher of Healdsburg, California, a daughter-in-law Jana Newman of Big Rapids, Michigan, and predeceased by a son Douglas who died in 1983, one brother Floyd Pollaski and wife Judith of Cantonment, Florida, one sister Sharon Vaughn and husband Dan of The Villages, Florida, a brother-in-law Floyd Swinehart, Jr. of North Adams, Michigan, and is pre-deceased by sister Ferne Swinehart. 5 grandchildren Darrell Pollaski, Melissa Teel, Wendy Waring and Kit and Emy Pollaski and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a memorial service at a later date in Michigan. Local arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home.
Robert Leake Dortch, Jr.
Robert Leake Dortch. Jr., age 72, died on November 25, 2002. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, July 26, 1930, to Robert Leake Dortch and Katherine Morton Dortch. Both grandparents on his paternal side were pioneers who had plantations in Lonoke and Pulaski Counties, the one well known Marlsgate. He attended grade school in Little Rock and Culver Military Academy in Culver, Indiana, where he was Officer in charge of Aftillery.
Dortch received his Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture in 1953 at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He served as Cadet Colonel of Army R.O.T.C., President of Scabbard and Blade, and Chaplain of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.
In 1953 he married
Mary Jane Watkins. He joined his father in a large farming operation, seed company, cotton gin, and dryer in Scott, Arkansas.
A devout Christian, his family attended Christ Episcopal Church of Little Rock, Arkansas, where he served on the Vestry.
In 1980 the family moved to Eureka Springs, Arkansas, and built a tourist railroad, the E.S. and N.A. Railway.
He is survived by his wife, one daughter Nancy McKinley of DeWitt, Arkansas, three sons Robert of Eureka Springs, David of Phoenix, Arizona, and John of Fayetteville, Arkansas, also a granddaughter Mary Katherine and grandson Edward McKinley of DeWitt, five sisters Roberta Fulkerson, Polly Davis, Virginia Dorazio, Floride Rebsamen, King Dobbins, and one brother George Dortch.
There will be a visitation Friday, November 29th, from 12 to 2 P.M. at Ruebel Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 2:30 P.M. at the Oakland cemetery Mausoleum, Little Rock, officiated by The Reverend Larry Benfield. Alvina Benish
Alvina Benish, age 92, of Little Rock, died Friday, November 29, 2002. She was born in Hazen, Arkansas later graduating from now Lyon’s College in Batesville. Besides teaching school Alvina was a court stenographer and credit manager. She moved to Little Rock in the 50s.
She is survived by her great-niece, Casandra Taylor of Little Rock.
There will be a graveside funeral service Wednesday at 2 P.M. at Forest Hills cemetery officiated by Reverend Gregory T. Luyet. Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home, www.ruebelfuneralhome.com.

Jeane Dorough Hundley
Jeane Dorough Hundley, of Little Rock, died Thursday, December 5, 2002. She was a 5th Generation member of an Arkansas Pioneer family with origins in County Cork, Ireland and Wittlesburg, Germany. She attended Little Rock schools and two years at Little Rock Jr. College (now UALR) before meeting her future husband, Dr. Louis King Hundley, who was completing his medical residency at Ark. Children's Hospital. They were married
in Little Rock in 1933. They moved to Kansas, where Dr. Hundley did post-doctoral research at the Prince Eye Clinic in Kansas before becoming an Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist. Subsequently, Dr. Hundley served four years in the U.S. Army Medical Corps before the Hundleys made their home in Pine Bluff at the end of World War II. They resided there for 21 years, during which time they were both active in many charitable and Fine Arts Groups. They were members of the Pine Bluff Country Club and on the Board of Directors of the Pine Bluff Community Concert Association. Dr. and Mrs Hundley, with their daughters, belonged to Lakeside Methodist Church and were teachers of the Rev. L.E.N. Hundley Sunday School where Dr. Hundley's father once served as Pastor. They returned to Little Rock in 1964, and Dr. Hundley was a member of the Department of Opthalmology clinical faculty at UAMS until his death in 1966.
Mrs. Hundley was a devoted homemaker and, at the same time, used her considerable talents in support of her husband's medical profession. She had a long and devoted volunteer career with many local, state and national charitable organizations. She served on the Boards of Directors for the National Association for Infantile Paralysis, President of the Auxiliary of the Southern Medical Association, Arkansas Medical Auxiliary, Jefferson County Medical Society, and the Pine Bluff Junior Auxiliary. Volunteer efforts with crippled children and in organizing volunteers for the Salk polio vaccine field trials in Arkansas earned her an Arkansas Traveler Certificate from Governor Faubus and a citation from Dr. Jonas Salk for outstanding work with the Polio Foundation. Additionally, she was cited for her outstanding contribution to the Arkansas Academy of Family Practice.
After the death of her husband in 1966, Mrs. Hundley was Executive Director of the Arkansas Caduceus Club since its inception in 1969. Former Dean of Medicine, the late Winston K. Shorey, envisioned a campus clearing house for professional and alumni relations and
appointed Mrs. Hundley to direct its organization, which she did until she retired at the age of 75. She was a member of the Little Rock Alumni Club of Pi Beta Phi Sorority, a Sustaining Member of the Little Rock Junior League, the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra Society and the Little Rock Chamber Music Society.
Survivors include:
two daughters, Nancy Hundley McKenzie, widow of Dr. Charles Norman McKenzie, of Little Rock and Kay Hundley Fisher, wife of Robert Martin Fisher of San Francisco; grand-daughter, Leslie McKenzie Santillo, her husband Jerry Santillo of Atlanta; grandsons Robert M. Fisher, Jr. and wife, Susan Armacost Fisher of London, England, William Louis Fisher of Burlingame, Calif., and Gregory Andrew Fisher and wife, Yvonne Kiggens Fisher of Kentfield, Calif. Mrs. Hundley was Great Grandmother to seven children. One brother, William Murphy Dorough and his wife, Frances Shimek Dorough live in Little Rock Their daughter, Mrs. Hundley's niece, Ann Dorough, and her husband, Greg Uekman reside in Maryland.
Mrs. Hundley remained an ardent Razorback fan, bridge player, world traveler. She continued to enjoy her myriad friendships with people of all ages, for whom she enjoyed entertaining in her home throughout her life. Her collection of antiques reflected her family which has been in Arkansas for seven generations. Mrs. Hundley was a resident at Parkway Village and a member of Little Rock First United Methodist Church.
A graveside service will be held at 1 P.M. at Graceland cemetery in Pine Bluff officiated by Reverend Jeanie Burton, followed by a memorial service at the First United Methodist Church of Little Rock, at 3 P.M. Tuesday, December 12th. Phillip M. Price
Phil Price, 70, of Maumelle went to be with the Lord on January 30, 2003. He was born in Bryan, TX, on October 16, 1932. Survivors are his wife, Marge; daughter, Susan, and her husband, Darrell Powell; and their children, Allison and Shawn of Azle, TX; his sister, Linda, and her husband, Jack Crawford of Irving, TX; a niece, Pam, and her husband Eugene Oard; and a nephew, Russell Rubac and his wife, Susan. He was preceded in death by his son, David. After graduating from Texas A&M University, he was a civil engineer in Texas and California from 1954-1967, with two years, serving as an officer with the U.S. Army from 1955-1957. He remained a member of the Texas A&M University Former Student Association until death. From 1967-1983 he served on staff with Campus Crusade. He was a pastor at Christ Community Church in Omaha, Nebraska, from 1983-1989. As pastor at Fellowship Bible Church in Little Rock, he encouraged many people from 1990-1995. In 1995 he and Marge retired to Pagosa Springs, Colorado, where he continued to disciple men.
Visitation will be from 5-7p.m. Friday, January 31, at Ruebel Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held in the Special Events Center at Fellowship Bible Church at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 1, with David Bruns and Ray Williams officiating. A graveside service will be held at Mt. Olivet cemetery in Fort Worth, TX, on Monday, February 3, at 11:00 a.m. with the Pastor of New Hope Baptist Church, Jim Edwards officiating. Geraldine Lou Haggard
Geraldine Lou Haggard, aged 81, of Little Rock, died Thursday, February 24, 2000. She was born at Boynton, Oklahoma, daughter of the late Byrle and Mart Myers, and graduated from North Little Rock High School. She was past President and lifetime member of the Parent Teachers Association and a member of the Central Arkansas Women's Bowling Association.
She was a devoted housewife, loving mother and avid sports fan. Preceded in death by her husband, Macon Lawrence Haggard, survivors are a sister, Pauline D. Martin and her husband James C. Martin; two sons, George E. Haggard and his wife Brenda of Little Rock and Larry W. Francis and his wife Elaine of Birmingham, Alabama; a daughter, Glynda K. Haggard of Little Rock; three grandchildren, Susan Jetton and Amy Hancock of Birmingham, Alabama, Shannon Kelly of Coppell, Texas; and six great grandsons. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ruebel Funeral Home by Reverend Harold O. O'Bryan. Pallbearers are Teddy Burnett, Dow Currier, Jr., Billy M. Howard, Jerry Paul, Nick Pierce, and Jeff Stevens.
Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association of Arkansas.
Ruth Elizabeth Gregg Young
Ruth Elizabeth Gregg Young, age 91, of Little Rock, died Sunday January 30, 2000. She was born in Little Rock where she graduated from Little Rock High School. She then received her undergraduate degree from Hendrix College and her law degree from Little Rock Law School. During her lifetime, she was a teacher, a lawyer, a homemaker, school volunteer, civic leader, and an active member of The United Methodist Church. In 1932 she married
Gordon Elmo Young of Malvern. The family moved to Pine Bluff where she raised four daughters, where she was active in church, school, scouting, and other civic organizations. She was known as "Sweet Bird" after a song she sang. During her lifetime she made and gave away tens of thousands of loaves of bread. Her life was centered on her husband's and children's interests. She was an avid hunter and fisherman and world traveler. Among her many honors where woman of the year by the Arkansas Democrat, and High Profile feature person of the Arkansas Gazette. Additionally, she was a distinguished alumna of Hendrix College and Sustainer of the Year of the Junior League of Little Rock and a lifetime board member of the Arkansas Symphony. To her large family and many friends, she was referred to as Muddie. Her husband, U.S. District Judge Gordon E. Young and daughter, Elizabeth Edna Young Newbern, precede her in death.
She is survived by three daughters; Martha Young Allison and her husband C. Duke Allison, Jr., Catherine Young Cockrill and her husband Dr. Howard Cockrill, Jr., and Virginia Young, and son in law Dr. David E. Newbern. Ten grandchildren; David Gordon Newbern, Gordon Young Allison, Murry Ellen Elizabeth Newbern Aspesi, George Young Newbern, Catherine Anne Allison Atkinson, John Harton Gregg Newbern, Marion Elizabeth Cockrill Ward, Catherine Ashley Cockrill O'Neill, Jeffrey Morgan Young and Howard Gregg Cockrill. Thirteen Great-grandchildren; Allison Bess Atkinson, Elizabeth Harris Newbern, David Newbern Aspesi, Andrew William Atkinson, Mollie Hunt Newbern, Gordon Baird Newbern, Gordon Young Allison, Jr., Gordon Gregg Aspesi, Emma Anne Newbern, Sarah Harton Newbern, Garland Howard Allison, Mae Ellen Newbern, William Howard Ward. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church officiated by Reverend Jeannie Burton. Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home.

Agnes Eleanor Geis Zachte
Agnes Eleanor Geis Zachte, age 84, of Little Rock, died January 26, 2000. She was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, later graduating from the University of South Dakota, becoming a Social Services Councilor. Agnes devoted much of her life to services for the blind, retiring after many years of service. She was a member of Our Lady of Holy Souls Catholic Church.
Mrs. Zachte is survived by her sister Phyllis M. Tolstedt and her husband Grandon of Little Rock, a nephew Phillip G. Hanson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and a sister-in-law Mary Geis of David City, Nebraska.
There will a funeral mass, Monday at 1 P.M. at The Cathedral of St. Andrews officiated by Monsignor Scott L. Marczuk. Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home.

Palmina J. Overton
Palmina J. "Pal" Overton, of Little Rock, widow of W.L. Larry Overton, died Tuesday, August 13th, 2001. Formerly from New York state, Mrs. Overton moved to Little Rock in 1951. She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church. Prior to retirement, she managed the snack bar at Park Plaza Bowling Lane. She also spent over 2000 hours in volunteer service for the Arthritis Foundation and the St. Vincent Development Foundation. Pal is survived by two sister-in-laws, Faye Matter of Seattle, Washington and Jean Gesin of Sherwood; two very dear friends, Wynelle Akin of North Little Rock and Patricia Akin of Little Rock; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, August 16, 2001 at 2:00 PM at Our Lady of Holy Souls Catholic Church officiated by Monsignor David LeSieur. Burial will be at Forest Hills cemetery. Dora Pasink
Dora Pasink, 92, of Little Rock, died Tuesday, June 19, 2001. She was born April 5, 1909, daughter of Elis and Bessie Dolinski Pasink in Newark, New Jersey. She worked for the Corp of Engineers as a Records Administrator first in Memphis, and then in Little Rock where she worked until her retirement. She was a member of the Temple B' Nai Isreal.
Ms. Pasink is survived by her sister, Lena Pasink of Little Rock. Graveside services will be Thursday, June 21, 2001 in Oakland cemetery, Jewish Section at 2:00 PM.

Hilton Pate, Jr
Hilton Pate, Jr 81 of Little Rock, died Saturday, August 11, 2001. Born and raised in Little Rock, Mr. Pate was an employee of the Federal Bureau of Investigations and retired from the Bray Oil Company of Los Angeles, CA. Second Baptist Church of Little Rock was his place of worship for over 50 years, and he was a member of Chapter 34 of AARP. He was a graduate of Little Rock High School and Little Rock Junior College. He was preceded in death by his father, H. Hilton Pate, Sr. and his mother, Pearl Blagg Pate, both originally of Booneville, AR. Mr. Pate became interested in drama during his years at Little Rock Junior College; out of that interest grew his passion for movies and movie trivia. His other passion was making family and friends around the country laugh with his creatively humorous letters and cards, which he sent faithfully throughout his adult life. Mr. Pate's dry wit, stories, and thoughtfulness will be deeply missed by a myriad of friends and cousins but particularly Mrs. Mary Frances Frederick, who was more like a sister than a cousin.
The family will receive friends at Ruebel Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday followed by his funeral service which will be held Tuesday, August 14, at 2:00 p.m. in the Ruebel Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Ray Higgins and Rev. Guy E. Pestino
Guy E. Pestino of Little Rock, Arkansas, formally of Cleveland, Ohio died January 1, 2001. Guy was the beloved son of the late Rose M. Picone and Guy E. Pestino, Sr., a brother, Allen A. Pestino, wife Jo Ann, a sister Kathleen Strauss, husband Victor, and Guy was an Uncle and Great Uncle to many.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 16th at 3:30 p.m. at the Carmelite Monastery of St. Teresa of Jesus. Immediately following the service he will continue on to his final resting place in Cleveland, Ohio. Raida Louise Cohn Pfeifer
Raida Louise Cohn Pfeifer, age 91, of Little Rock, died Tuesday, March 13, 2001. She was born in Little Rock, and graduated from Dana Hall School in Wellesley, Massachusetts before graduating from Vasser College in Poughkeepsie, New York. She was married
in 1931 to Harry W. Pfeifer, Jr. who died in 1974. Mrs. Pfeifer was a founding member of Planned Parenthood of Arkansas, board member emeritus of The Arkansas Arts Center, and was very active with many Little Rock civic and cultural organizations.
She is survived by one son Don Pfeifer and his wife Nancy of Little Rock, two daughters Cusie Pfeifer, Accord, NY and Susan Pfeifer of Little Rock, 7 grandchildren Jennifer Maddox, Brad Sherman, Debbie Li, and Pamela, Jessica, Paul, and Gwen Pfeifer and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Miriam Phillips.
There will be a memorial service celebrating Raida's life at 4:00 P.M. Sunday March 18th at Donald W. Reynolds Center on Aging, on the Campus of The University of Arkansas Medical Science Center.
In place of flowers, contributions may be made to the Arkansas Arts Center, the Raida Pfeifer Art Fund at the Donald W. Reynolds Center on Aging or a charity of choice.

Mary Frances Williams Montgomery
Mary Frances (Miff) Williams Montgomery, 67, of Little Rock, passed away, surrounded by family and friends, in her home on Tuesday, January 21, 2003, after a short battle with cancer. She was born on November 14, 1935 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She was a wonderful wife, loving mother, sister and aunt, and friend to many.Miff graduated from Pine Bluff High School and attended the University of Arkansas where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Director of Camp Mitchell, Office Manager of House of Bishops Secretariat of the Episcopal General Convention, and Board Member for Episcopal Church Women of Arkansas. Miff was a member of the Junior League of Little Rock.
Miff is preceded in death by her father Edmund Lewis Williams and by her mother Lelia Anne (Nancy) Ittner Williams. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jim L. Montgomery; daughters Polly Anne Montgomery Deems (Don) of Little Rock and Cyndy Montgomery of Dallas, Texas; son Jim Montgomery (Tonya) of Superior, Colorado; grandchildren Taylor and Alex Deems, and Parker, Westin, Madison and Kelsey Montgomery; brother Edmund Lewis Williams, Jr. of Monticello, Georgia and sister Florence Anne Williams Collier of Rogers, Arkansas.
