John Jehlen Jr.
John Ervin Jehlen Jr., 51, a resident of Russellville, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2010.
He was born Jan. 7, 1959, at Pine Bluff to John E. “Jack” and Mary Ellen Isom Jehlen. He had been an engineering supervisor at Arkansas Nuclear One in Russellville and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the River Valley RC Club and the Theta Tau engineering fraternity. He was also an Eagle Scout and was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Veach Jehlen of Russellville; his children, Jordan Blakely Jehlen of Conway, Lindi and Mike Wade of Jonesboro, and David and Jessica Morris of Russellville; three grandsons, Hayden Wade, and Drake and Brody Morris; his aunts, Ida Chambliss and Shirley Walker; his uncles, Milburn “Bud” Isom and Rex Jehlen; and his mother-in-law, Janice Veach.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, at Shinn Chapel with the Rev. Roy Smith officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park at Russellville under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
Active pallbearers will be David Morris, Mike Wade, Christopher Clingan, Tom Dicken, Tommy Veach and Robbie Veach.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the System Engineering Support Group at ANO and members of the River Valley RC Club.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 304 S. Commerce Ave., Russellville, AR 72801.

Hugh Parker
DANVILLE — Hugh Parker, 77, of Danville passed away Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at Arkansas Heart Hospital.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10, 2010, at Ted Lyon’s Gymnasium. Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.

Roy Grace
Roy Ben Grace, 74, of Benton went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, Sept. 6, 2010.
He was born Aug. 13, 1936, to John Clifton and Velda Haney Grace in Dardanelle. He was a member of Holland Chapel Baptist Church.
Ben was an avid Razorback fan. He also enjoyed playing golf and gardening. He served our nation proudly in the U.S. Army for four years. Ben retired from Alcoa after 30 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother and grandparents.
Survivors, his loving wife of 50 years, Della Qualls Grace; daughters, Jackie and husband, Jimmy Frye, of Russellville and Karen and husband, Bill Campbell, of Batesville; four grandchildren, Jordan and Jenna Frye and Bethany and Kambri Campbell. Ben loved his family very much and will be greatly missed by loved ones and friends.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Craig, Phillip Garner, Charlie Dains, Ross Reeves, Elwood Smith, Curtis Ferguson, Sam Talkington and Lynn Edmondson.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Bauxite Ole Timers.
Chapel services by Ashby Funeral Home will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Ashbys with Bro. Carl Richey and Bro. Kim Hammer officiating. Burial will follow at New Rosemont cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Ashbys.
A special thank you to Saline Memorial Hospice House for their compassion, care and comfort during his illness. They are truly angels among us.

Judy Waggoner
DANVILLE — Judy Ann Waggoner, 62, of Chula passed away Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010, at her home.
She was born Sept. 6, 1947, at Waldron to Noah and Lottie Lee Irons Lambert. She was a member of Aly Church of God. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Kevin Lambert; sisters and brother, Ilene Webb, Imogene Lambert and Clyde Lambert.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Wayne Waggoner; daughter, Kelli Waggoner of Chula; grandchildren, Bradley and Jacee; sister, Dorotha Solley of Fort Smith; brother, Clint Lambert of Paris; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, at Kevin’s Meadow cemetery in Chula with the Rev. Josh Harper officiating. Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Roy Hodges, Tim Stokes, Michael Stokes, Joe Dishongh, Josh Solley and Brad Stamps.
Honorary pallbearers are Bradley Halsell, Keith Solley, Dale Lambert, Charles Lambert and Josh Harper.
Visitation will be 6-8 tonight.

Luann Morelock
Luann Morelock, 51, of East Liverpool, Ohio, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010 with her loving husband, Tom, at her side.
She was born Aug. 20, 1959, in East Liverpool, Ohio. Following graduation from East Liverpool High School, Luann received diplomas from Ohio Valley Business College and Jefferson Technical Institute. She worked in a dental office, bank, grocery store and her own business, the Merle Norman Costmetic Ship in downtown East Liverpool. She also assisted with the Kids Club at the Christian Assembly Church.
Services were Friday, Sept. 3 at Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester, Ohio.

Joshua Bouzek
ATKINS — Joshua Paul Bouzek, 30, of Atkins, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2010, at his home.
Arrangements are pending and will be announced by Lemlely Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Joshua Paul Bouzek Fund, c/o Lemley Funeral Service, P.O. Box 126, Atkins, AR 72823.

Noma Sebastian
DANVILLE — Noma Joyce Pledger Baskin Sebastian was born March 25, 1932, in Havana, Ark., to Jesse William Pledger and Minnie Lou Tishia Vessel Pledger. She went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at her daugher’s home in Vinita. The family attended the Assembly of God Church in Havana where Joyce began playing the piano in church at the age of 5. Her first performance was playing “Amazing Grace, ” and she recalled being unable to reach the foot pedals of the piano. Joyce also shared that her acting debut was playing the part of an Indian papoose in a school play when she was just a baby.
During her youth, she sang on the radio and at conventions throughout Arkansas. She was the president of the Arkansas Youth for Christ. Later, after attending college, she became a member of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority.
Upon her marriage to Garth Baskin, she moved to Grove, Okla., where she was active in the Women’s Society of the United Methodist Church, Garden Club, Heart Fund, Arthritis Foundation of Delaware County, PTA, Boy Scouts of America and other volunteer work. Upon moving to Vinita, she taught Sunday school for the Home of Hope clients, helped lead a local Camp Fire Girls group and helped with a community Thanksgiving dinner and outreach.Joyce delivered many meals to shut-ins who would trust no one else to enter their homes. During this time, Joyce worked for both a local medical doctor and optometrist.
Later, Joyce moved to Claremore and began working for Dr. Fred Lemaster in Tulsa. It was during this time she began to lead Bible studies in her neighborhood, as well as going to nursing homes and VA hospitals to sing and play keyboard for the residents. She became a part of the church family at Owalla Baptist Church and enjoyed many close friendships.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse William Pledger and Minnie Lou Tishia Pledger; her sisters, Martha Nell Pledger, Marie Pledger Moudy and Margie Pledger Moore; brothers-in-law, James Buford “Boots” Moudy and Leon “Babe” Moore; nephew, Jamie Moudy; her great-niece, Lisa Monday Smith; and her husband, Garth Baskin.
The surviving family includes sons, Garth Randall Baskin and wife, Shirley, of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Blake Kendall Baskin of Claremore; daughter, Brenda Kay Darnell and husband, Larry, of Vinita, Okla.; grandchildren, Jordan Polson and wife, Erica, of Page, Ariz., Jedidiah Darnell of Page, Ariz., Pepper Darnell, Holly Darnell, Israel Darnell and wife, Brandi, Luke Darnell and Gabriel Darnell, all of Vinita, and Aaron Baskin and Joshua Baskin of Wichita Falls; great-grandchildren, Joshua Polson, Caitlyn Polson and Logan Polson; sister, Florence Davis and husband, Glen, of Fort Smith; and aunt, Naomi Burnett of Tulare, Calif.
Funeral will be Thursday, Sept. 9, at Havana Assembly of God Church with Pastor Kevin Baker officiating.
Burial will be in Havana cemetery. Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home.

Harlin Jobe
Harlin Jobe, 86, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, in Lancaster, Calif.
He was born May 8, 1924, in Atkins, the son of Lewis and Ollie Parish Jobe.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 479th Amphibious Truck Company, 1st Engineer Specialist Brigade and made the Invasion of Normandy at Omaha Beach. He retired from the military in 1965. His second retirement was in 1986, from Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center, where he worked as a steam engineer.
He liked to garden. In his younger days he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. He also had a special affection for his little Yorkies, Tiger and Pooh.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Klaer Jobe; son, Larry Jobe (Cathy) of Lancaster; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Mary R. Dickerman of Atkins; brother, Lamarr (Ruth) Jobe of New Umn, Texas; nephew, Glenn (Gayle) Austin of Conway; stepson, Sam Zoda, and many friends.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at Lemley Chapel with the Rev. Robert Woody officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Bells Chapel cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bells Chapel cemetery, Thomas Willcutt, 1908 W. Main St., Atkins, AR 72823.

Edna Fowler
DANVILLE — Edna Evalene Fowler, 88, of Danville died Monday, Sept. 6, 2010 at Chambers Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 18, 1922, in Blue Ball to Grady and Vinnie Sipes Woodard. She was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Lee Fowler; parents; brothers, Carl Woodard and three infants; and sister, Lorene Tidwell.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Othalene and Wayne Inman of Belleville; a sister, Florence Bernice Ward of Russellville; and several nieces and nephews, church familiy and friends.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenny Vosburg officiating.
Burial will be in Earl Ladd cemetery. Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home.

Johnnie Havener
CLARKSVILLE — Johnnie Bradford Havener, 76, of Lamar died Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at his home.
Born Nov. 28, 1933, in Lamar, he was a U.S. Army veteran, employed by the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department for 35 years, and had attended Lamar Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Rebecca Pearson Havener; and a brother, Norman Havener.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Jean Cameron Havener; a son, Kirk Havener and wife, Nancy, of Kentucky; daughters, Elizabeth Huffine and husband, Patrick, of Clarksville and Cynthia Sheppard and husband, Danny, of Ozark; a brother, Don Havener and wife, Coleen, of Lamar; a sister, Reba Morland of Clarksville; nine grandchildren, Michele Goodin, Keegan Hull, Victoria Gillett, David Havener, Abigail Havener, Jaylee Sinor, Shane Sinor, Jeremiah Havener and Sierra Sheppard; and three great-grandchildren, Jesy Kimbriel, Jayde Kimbriel and Slade Goodin.
The body will be cremated. A service will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
