Edward I. `Ozzie' Ozenbaugh formerly of Wauconda
Services for Edward I. `Ozzie' Ozenbaugh, 74, of Bull Shoals, Ark., will be held at 8 p.m. today, at Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home, 235 N. Main St., Wauconda.
Born July 29, 1924, in Chicago, he died Saturday, March 20, 1999, in Elgin. Burial will be private.
Mr. Ozenbaugh was retired from the Chicago Fire Department where he had worked as a fire engineer. He was also a World War II veteran, having served in the Army Air Corps.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Helen Ozenbaugh (nee Lewandowski); sons, William (Janice), Mark (Gwenda), Michael (Ann), Gary, and Richard (Cathy); daughters, Diane, Patricia (Daniel), Laura (Joseph), Mary and Loretta (Glen); sister, Virginia (Thomas); and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sons, James and Edward; and brother, Russell.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the time of services at 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Northeastern Illinois Hospice Association.

Rocco M. Padula of Des Plaines
Services for Rocco M. Padula, 81, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, at Trinity Lutheran Church.
He will lie in state from 12:30 p.m. until the time of services.
Born Dec. 27, 1917, in Chicago, he died Sunday, March 21, 1999, at Lutheran General Hospital. Entombment will be in Mount Emblem Cemetery.
A 40-year resident of Des Plaines, Mr. Padula worked as a photo engraver for 45 years at the Chicago Tribune, and in the housekeeping department at Northwest Community Hospital for 16 years. He was a member of the GraphicArts International Union Local #458 and was a World War II Army veteran.
He was the husband of the late Arlene A. (nee Koehn); father of Roxann M. (Mark) Renn of Des Plaines; brother of Anthony (Anna) Padula of Park Ridge, William Padula of Rolling Meadows, Eugene Padula of Melrose Park, Marilyn Bottiglieri of Schaumburg and Margaret (James)Perrone of Crystal Lake; grandfather of Ryan Renn; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at Oehler Funeral Home, 555 Lee St., Des Plaines.

Ralph Patterson of Elgin
Funeral services for Ralph Patterson, 85, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Revs. Curt Gerald and Mark Lund officiating.
Born Feb. 20, 1914, in Dell Grove Township, Pine County, Minn., the son of Alfred and Rosella (nee Birdsell) Patterson, he died Sunday, March21, 1999, at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. Burial will be in River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee.
Mr. Patterson retired from Conrad Electric after 33 years of service. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Elginsince 1946, and IBEW #117 of Elgin.
He is survived by his wife, Gertrude (nee Eich), whom he married Feb. 20, 1943, in Ashton, Ill.; son, O. Keith (Jean) Patterson of Sussex, Wis.; daughter, Diane J. (Robert) Blake of Elgin; grandchildren, Timothy Hughes, Kimberly Olsen, Rebecca Blake, Bryan Blake, Eric Patterson, Jennifer DeVine, Brian Langdon and Jeffrey Langdon; brothers, Harry (Mary) Patterson of Minneapolis, Minn. and Sylvester (Ruth) Patterson of Mundelein; and sister, Patricia (Stanley) Merika of Jefferson, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law, Carmella Patterson, in 1985.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today, at O'Connor and Homeier Funeral Home, 364 Division St., Elgin, and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday, at the church.
Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

Warren B. Rogers
Services for Warren B. Rogers, 80, will be held at 2 p.m. today, at the Arnold Funeral Home, Arnold, Neb. Reverend Victor Karg will officiate.
Born Nov. 13, 1918, in Chicago, the son of Gertrude Barth and William Rogers, he passed away Saturday, March 20, 1999, at Heritage Manor in Broken Bow, Neb.
Burial willbe in Rose Hill Cemetery, Callaway, Neb.
Warren graduated from Lakeview High School in Chicago in 1935. He married Coralie Forrester on Dec. 30, 1965, in Chicago.
Warren worked for Paddock Publications in Arlington Heights until 1972, when he bought his own printing company in Palatine, until retiring. He played clarinet with the Medinah Shriner's Brass Band in Chicago.
Survivors include his wife, Coralie; children, Linda (Donald) Modesitt of Jefferson City, Mo., Warren Jr. of Los Angeles, Calif., Frederick of Columbia, Mo., Carole (Leonard) Dudek of Denver, Colo., William (Bea) of Charlotte, N. C. and Lee (David) Greene of Thornton, Colo.; sister, Dorothy (Donald) Roose of San Antonio, Texas; brother, Bill (Mercy) of Hallandale, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, John Forrester Odom.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Born June 1, 1928, in Chicago, she died Sunday, March 21, 1999, at home. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Mount Prospect.
A homemaker, she was the wife of the late Thomas B. Simms; mother of Erika Simms of Chicago, Kara (Randy) Knott of Jacksonville, Ill. and HeidiSimms of Chicago; grandmother of Joshua Knott of Jacksonville; sister of Loretta (Willard) Christian of Ormond Beach, Fla. and the late Herbert Voelker; and sister-in-law of James (Shannon) Simms of Nashville, Ind., Bill (Mavis) Davis of Avon, Conn. and Bob (Pat) Simms of Denver, Colo. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, at Friedrichs Funeral Home, Inc., 320 W. Central Rd. at Northwest Hwy., Mount Prospect, and from 1 p.m. until the timeof services Thursday, at the church.

Maryann Tumilty Skeede of Bartlett
Services for Maryann Tumilty Skeede, 90, will be held at 10 a.m. today, at Ahlgrim and Sons Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.
Born Feb. 12, 1909, in England, she died Saturday, March 20, 1999, at Northwest Community Hospital. Burial will be in Irving Park Cemetery, Chicago.
She is survived by her children, Irene Keeton, James Tumilty and Barbara Pedersen; 12 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Pauline Rotizza.

Harold Sommerschield of Carol Stream
Funeral services for Harold Sommerschield, 93, will be held at 7 p.m. today, at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton. Rev. Don Jones will officiate.
Born June 17, 1905, in Chicago, he died Saturday, March 20, 1999, at the Johnson Medical Center. Private intermenty will be inRidgewood Cemetery, Des Plaines.
A resident of Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream for 11 years, he was a former longtime resident of Park Ridge and Mount Prospect. He was a retired engineer and had been president of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers, where he was honored with the outstanding service award in 1962 and the Illinois award in 1963. He was also a life member and in 1957 president of the Illinois section of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He was president of the Park Ridge Kiwanis Club in 1969.
Mr. Sommerschield was very involved in the churches where he was a member.
Over the years, he served on the board of Mayfair Bible Church in Chicago, South Park Church in Park Ridge (where he was church chairman), Prospect Heights Baptist Church and Des Plaines Bible Church.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia; children, Barbara (Richard) Lethander of Georgia, Beverly (John) Schwan of South Barrington and David (Cheryl) Sommerschield of Mount Prospect; grandchildren, Charlie (Heather) Lethander, Becky (Chris) Bultnick, Andy (Sarah) Lethander, Brad (Nicole) Schwan, Jana (John) Yourek, Kara Schwan, Krista (Jeff) Peterson, Scott Sommerschield and Lindsay Sommerschield; great-grandchildren, Eric and Matthew Lethander, Olivia Schwan, Kayla Yourek and Luke Schwan; and sister, Ruth Wagner.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Rev. Stanley Sommerschield.

Charles L. Strayer formerly of Naperville
Services for Charles L. Strayer, 85, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, at Grace United Methodist Church, 300 E. Gartner Road, Naperville.
The Revs. Dr. Arthur Landwehr, Thomas E. Babler and Paul Whittle will officiate.
Born Nov. 1, 1913, in Gridley, Ill., he died Saturday, March 20, 1999, at his home. Interment will be in Boughton Township Cemetery, Kempton, Ill.
Mr. Strayer came to Naperville in 1963 from Orangeville, Ill. He lived In Naperville for 31 years, moving to Downers Grove in 1994. He received his bachelor of education degree in 1938 from Illinois State University, Normal, and his master of arts degree in 1948 from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. He retired in 1977 from School District 204 as a deputy superintendent. His 35 years of teaching and administrative work included serving as the business manager for Naperville School District 203 for five years. He also spent five years working with the Illinois School Consulting Service. A veteran, Mr. Strayer had served for 2 1/2 years in the Air Force during World War II. He was a member of the Lions Club, the Phi Delta Kappa education fraternity, and Grace United Methodist Church since 1969.
Survivors include his son, Charles A. (Sue) Strayer of Naperville; daughters, Nancy (Neil) Whittington of Aldbourne, England, Margaret Ann `Peggy' (Thomas) Springborn of Normal and Carolyn (William) Duffy of Woodridge; sisters, Blanche (Howard) Taylor ofCullom, Ill., and Ruth Porter of Pontiac, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles L. and Olive (nee Jacobs) Strayer Sr.; wife, Eleanor Strayer (nee Brown); and brother-in-law, Gilbert Porter.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 117 W. Van Buren, Naperville.

Dorothy Taus of Arlington Heights
Services for Dorothy Taus (nee Dix), 89, formerly of Chicago, will begin with prayers at 8:45 a.m. Thursday, at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Highway, Palatine, and continue with Mass at 9:30 a.m., at Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 432 W. Park St., Arlington Heights.
Born Sept. 8, 1909, in Cincinnati, Ohio, she died Monday, March 22, 1999, at Northwest Community Healthcare. Intermentwill be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
Mrs. Taus was a resident of Church Creek Commons in Arlington Heights.
Prior to her retirement she had worked as a secretary for more than 30 years.
She was the beloved wife of the late Harold Taus; cherished daughter of the late John and Freida Dix; dear sister of Francis (Dorothy) Dix, Ralph (Agnes) Dix and the late Agnes, Freida, John, Ann, Fred, Paul, Edward and Regina; and fond aunt of 28 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
