Edward Robinson
Edward Gene Robinson, also known as Eddie, Ed and Big Ed, of Blytheville died April 27, 2011, in Hot Springs. He was employed by Holman Distribution in Conway.
Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline Block Robinson of Atkins; one brother, Charles Robinson of Blytheville; four sisters, Maxine Johnson of Newport and Patricia Tate, Debbie Henderson and Gloria (James) Newborn, all of Blytheville.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Sixteen Section Baptist Church in Monticello.
Arrangements were by Christian Brothers Funeral Home in Monticello.
Billie Sue Evans
(June 16, 1925 - July 19, 2013)
Billie Sue Evans, 88, of Clarksville, Arkansas, passed away, Friday, July 19, 2013 in Clarksville, Arkansas. She was born June 16, 1925 in Booneville, Arkansas to Clarence Young and Ruby (Yarborough) Glover.
She was a beloved wife and mother. Billie Sue grew up going to the First Baptist Church in Booneville but in the last fourteen years she resided in Clarksville where she attended the First United Methodist Church in Clarksville. She was a fifty year member of the P.E.O. Club.
She enjoyed her roses and the piano.
She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty two years, J.H. Evans and one brother, C.Y. Glover and her parents before mentioned.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Monday, July 22, 2013 at Oak Hill cemetery in Booneville, under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
She is survived by one daughter, Laura Harwell and Husband Johnny of Clarksville, Arkansas; one son, Robert H. Evans of Clarksville, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Ashley Stone and husband Doug, Jeptha H. Evans III, Rachel Robinson and husband, Scott, and Jenny Mikles; two great grandchildren, Riley Evans and Parker Robinson; two step grandchildren, Dory O’Neal and Kay Cloar; two step great grandchildren, Jenna Staub and Henry Cloar.

The family will visit with friends from 4 to 5:00 P.M., Sunday, afternoon at Roberts Funeral Home.
Braiden Qualls
Braiden Adam Logan Qualls, 4-month-old son of Bryan Qualls of Dover and Danielle Duvall of Russellville, died Tuesday, May 3, 2011, in Russellville.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2011, at the Grace Chapel Trinity Pentecostal Church with visitation from 6-7 p.m. Thursday at Shinn Funeral Service.
Anna Ruth McDaniel
Anna Ruth McDaniel, 82, of Hattieville, formerly of Inside Camp Robinson, passed away at her home on Monday, May 2, 2011. She was born Jan. 17, 1929.
Memorial service to celebrate her life will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Humphrey Chapel. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
Melvin Davis
Melvin L. Davis, 65, passed away Friday, June 3, 2011, at his home after a long battle with colon cancer.
He was born on Hurricane Creek in Newton County to Francis Hull and Roy Davis on Nov. 22, 1945. He and his family moved to Lurton where he attended elementary school and graduated from Deer High School before being drafted into the United States Army and stationed in Germany. Upon completing his tour of duty, Melvin went to Kansas City, Mo., to track down his high school sweetheart, Jessalyn Ramsey. They were married
, had their only child Donovan and lived there until 1978 when they returned to Arkansas. They eventually made their home in Russellville where Melvin worked for Farwell, Osmond, and Kirk as an assistant general manager until its closing, then for Shaw Enterprises as senior instructor for in-processing until late last year.
Melvin’s early life in Northwest Arkansas instilled in him a love of nature and the outdoors that continued throughout his lifetime. He liked to hunt, but he lived to fish, and his two favorite fishing buddies were his son Donovan and his brother Eugene. He fished dozens of bass tournaments around the state and was instrumental in the development of the Lake Dardanelle State Park Fishing Visitor Center and Weigh-in Station. On the lake in his bass boat was Melvin’s favorite place to be, and he was known to say it was the place he felt closest to God. He and his brother, Eugene, won 2007 Angler of the Year award in Vince Miller’s Super Team.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Jessalyn. Those who will miss him most are his son, Donovan (Tammy); his granddaughter, Rayne Davis; stepgrandsons, Justin Taylor and Zack Taylor; brother, Eugene (Earlene), all of Russellville; sister, Pat Jackson (Forrest) of Harrison; step mother-in-law, Pauline Ramsey of Jasper; sisters-in-law, Jan Larson, Pat Adams, Judy Schenk, Kathy Lord, Carla Weeks and Lisa Anderson; and brother-in-law, Mike Ramsey; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. Good friends and pallbearers are Billy Barber, Don Washington, Doug Prater, Ernie Longing, Rick Hollis and Bob West.
The family would like to express its gratitude to Arkansas Hospice and the fourth-floor staff at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2011, at the Dover Church of Christ in Dover. Burial will be at Coleman cemetery by Humphrey Funeral Service. Micah Williams and William Boley will officiate.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Military honors will be provided by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2283.
Emmett Wade
Emmett Wade, 90, of Russellville died Friday, June 3, 2011, at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at the Shinn Chapel with visitation from 5–6 p.m. on Monday at Shinn Funeral Service.
Joyce Merrick
Joyce Merrick, 75, of Russellville died Friday, June 3, 2011, in Russellville.
The daughter of Garland and Ora Mariah Lile Featherston, she was born Nov. 23, 1935, in Paris, Ark. She married
Lester Burnett Merrick on Jan. 21, 1956. She was a member of the 1953 class of Paris High School. She attended Arkansas Polytechnic College and received her B.S. at the University of Arkansas and her Masters from Southwestern State College in Weatherford, Okla. She was a home economics teacher in the Pottsville and later Russellville School District for a total of 32 years.
She loved growing fruits and vegetables and sharing them with her family and friends. She and L.B. were members of the Russellville Square Dancing Club.
She was a member of PEO Sisterhood and several teacher’s organizations. She attended Pottsville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Pottsville. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bill Featherston.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, L.B. Merrick, Russellville; a son, Les Merrick and wife Marsha, Jonesboro; two grandchildren, Leah and Luke Merrick, Jonesboro; a brother, Russell Featherston and Yvonne, Paris; a sister, Sally Hallum and husband Don, Wylie, Texas; sisters-in-law, Nell Featherston, Beaumont, Texas, and Beverly Merrick, Russellville.
Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2011, at Pottsville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church at Pottsville. Reverend Howard Wheeler will officiate. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.

Alice Johnson
Alice Ann Johnson, 61, of Clarksville, died Friday, June 3, 2011.
She was born Oct. 31, 1949, in Clarksville to the late Norman Otho and Mary Alice McGuire Morgan.
She was a member of the Fernwood Assembly Of God Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and past secretary treasurer of the church.
Survivors are husband, Don Johnson; three daughters, Vonda Zimmerman of Tulsa, Okla., Merriane Lea Palaski of Marble Falls, Texas, and Sabine Dent Stanley of North Carolina; three sons, Monty Johnson of Sycamore, Ill., Scott Johnson of Dixon, Ill., and Chad Johnson of Bloomington, Ill.; two sisters, Norma Lee Morgan Mariott of Lamar and Linda Kauffeld White of Montgomery, Ala.; one brother, John Edward King of Bentonville; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Mount Olive Methodist Church with Senior Chaplain Paul Northcut officiating.

Wilma Priebe
Wilma Allene Priebe, 90, of London died Saturday, July 2, 2011, at Russellville Nursing and Rehabilitation in Russellville.
The daughter of Ben and Eliza Whorton, she was born Jan. 31, 1921. She retired from ConAgra Foods and was a member of the Pless Community EHC and a 4-H leader. She was a member of the Mount Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the ladies auxiliary, where she was a Sunday school teacher and song leader. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, gardening, flowers, canning and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Martin H. Priebe; her parents; her sisters, Jeanette Boster and Jewel Henson; and her son-in-law, Glenn Vinson.
Survivors include her three children, Donna Priebe Vinson of Farmington, Glenn Priebe and wife Sandy of Mountain Home, and Larry Priebe of London; seven grandchildren, Brent Vinson of Farmington, Brad Vinson and wife Tracy of Farmington, Jennifer Booher of Springdale, Jeff Priebe and wife Sarah of Little Rock, Samantha Minster and husband Donald of London, Matthew Priebe of Washington D.C., and Gregory Priebe and wife Grace of Fort Smith; six great-grandchildren, Hunter Vinson of Farmington, Drew Vinson of Farmington, Madeleine Booher of Springdale, Thomas Priebe of Little Rock, Andrew Easter of London and Adam Priebe of Fort Smith; one sister, Geraldine Sudmeyer of Hot Springs; and two sisters-in-law, Lela Burgess of London and Alma Whitney of London.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at the Mount Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Rev. Lynell Brooks and Pastor Thom Lasko will officiate. Burial will be at Mount Carmel cemetery in London by Humphrey Funeral Service.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today, July 5, 2011, at the funeral home.

Dexter Thornsberry
Dexter Leo “Deck” McConnell Thornsberry, 93, of Russellville died Sunday, July 3, 2011, at her home.
She was born to Ruben Seth McConnell and Rebecca Hatchett McConnell on Dec. 9, 1917, at home in what is known as McConnell Hill, in the Ard Road Community, on the outskirts of Dardanelle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 66 years, Elmo I. Thornsberry; four sisters, Martha “Corny” Powers, Mary Maze McConnell, Patricia McConnell and Anna Lee Holloway; five brothers, Farley, Bruce, Ed, Rudell and “Buck” McConnell; and two grandsons, Richard Allen Thornsberry and Adam Thornsberry Pabian.
Survivors include her beloved foster brother, Leroy Thacker; two sons, Gordon E. Thornsberry and wife, Sue, of Russellville and William S. Thornsberry and wife, Delores, of Russellville; a daughter, Joy Pabian and husband, Joe, of North Little Rock; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today, July 5, 2011, at Shinn Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Roy Smith. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Active pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be caregivers Mary Wilson, Chuck Hessler, Lu Hale, Thelma Smith, Linda Boley and Lesa Emberson.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time today at the chapel.

Logan Schaubroeck
Logan Gabriel Schaubroeck, infant son of Briana Schaubroeck of Russellville, went to be in the arms of Jesus on July 15, 2011.
He was born at UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock on July 6, 2011.
Survivors include his mother; a sister, Lorelei Marie; brother, Mason Leo McQuade; twin brother; Lucas Charles; grandparents, Evelyn and Roy Turner of Lebanon, Mo.; and great-grandparents, M.C. and Ellen Schaubroeck of Russellville.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2011, at Cornwell Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Brearley cemetery in Dardanelle.
