Kevin Hickey
ATKINS — Kevin Hickey, 49, of Lamar died Monday, Aug. 15, 2011.
He was born Jan. 24, 1962, in Russellville, the son of Artie and Shirley Ann Thalman Hickey of Hector. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Audrey Hickey.
He is survived by his mother; three sons, Jason Hickey of Clarksville, Kent Hickey of Lamar and James Taylor of Jerusalem; four daughters, Heather McGhee, Randa Hickey and Crissy Hickey all of Russellville, and Michelle Collins of Centerville; 12 grandchildren; two brothers, James Roberts of Lamar and Donnie Hickey of Hector; and three sisters, Myrene Parks of Hector, Clara Huffman and Liz Mackey both of Dover.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at Adams cemetery. Arrangements are by Lemley Funeral of Atkins.

Col. Jessie David “J.D.” Friddle Sr.
Col. Jessie David “J.D.” Friddle Sr., 87 of Paris, Arkansas, passed from this life March 5, 2013 in Paris, Arkansas. He was born May 4, 1925 in Paris, Arkansas to Gen. George Washington Friddle and Bessie Mae (Jones) Friddle.
J.D. was an auctioneer for many years and was known as the fastest auctioneer in the state. He was a Army veteran of World War II where received both the Bronze Star and Two Silver Stars. He was of the Pentecostal faith and was a member of Blocker Lodge #247 in Booneville. He was quite a historian.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday 3:00 P.M., Friday, March 8, 2013 at the Lakeview Pentecostal Church in Booneville, Arkansas, with burial in Landmark cemetery north of Booneville, under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife of sixty six years, Emma Friddle of the home; one daughter, Shirley Hice and husband Stanley of Ratcliff, Arkansas; three sons, Jessie David Friddle Jr. of Charleston, Arkansas, Dub Friddle and wife Debby of Magazine, Arkansas, and Richard Friddle of Muldrow, Oklahoma; fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Larry Hice, Shane Friddle, Matt Friddle, Carol David Friddle, John Olsen and Steven Thurston.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Cody and Levi Sims
Visitation will be from 5 to 7:00 P.M., Thursday evening at Roberts Funeral Home.

Adelle Ruth Buffington
(June 30, 1928 - March 2, 2013)
Adelle R. (Hanson) Buffington, 84, of Booneville, Arkansas, peacefully went to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 2, 2013, in Mercy Hospital in Waldron, Arkansas, with family members at her side. Adelle was born June 30, 1928, in Hutchinson, Minnesota, the first child of Ernest and Ruth Hanson. She graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1946. She worked for the United States Selective Service in Pueblo, Colorado. Later she worked at a Civil Service position as an administrative assistant in Denver, Colorado. She and Joseph Buffington were married on October 18, 1980, in Waldron, Arkansas. They lived there briefly and then moved to Booneville where they lived the rest of their lives. Joe died on September 17, 2009. Adelle was active in the United Methodist Church until her marriage to Joe. Her church activities were dear to her heart. She was a faithful member of Golden City Assembly of God Church and loved her church family, with Brother Paul Frickenschmidt and Brother LeRoy Bass officiating. She also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary. She kept up a steady correspondence with her relatives and many friends through the years. Adelle is survived by a sister, Muriel (Bill) Teague of Raleigh, North Carolina; three brothers: David (Ruth) Hanson of Dodge Center, Minnesota; Rodney (Gail) Hanson of Park Forest, Illinois; Mark (Amparo) Hanson of Riverside, California; a very special stepdaughter, Jerri (Cory) Butler of Waldron, Arkansas; a stepdaughter, Mary (Ben) House of Ashdown, Arkansas; a stepson, Michael Buffington of Boonevile, Arkansas; a stepdaughter, Carol Hayden of Hoblesville, Indiana; and numerous nephews and nieces and many step children. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home in Booneville with internment following in the Bud Davis cemetery near the Grayson Church. Arrangements were entrusted to the Roberts Funeral Home in Booneville, Arkansas.

Royce Laseter
Royce Laseter, 71, of Russellville died Monday, Aug. 15, 2011, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at the Shinn Chapel with visitation from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, at Shinn Funeral Service.

Imogene Hill
CLARKSVILLE — Imogene Addie Hill, 92, of Clarksville died Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011, at Clarksville. She was born May 19, 1919, in Russellville to Albert Myers and Raymoth (Low) Myers. She was a retired nurse’s aide.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Lonnie Travis Hill.
Survivors are her son, Travis Wayne Hill and wife, Margaret, of Clarksville; brother, Junior Myers of Fort Smith; sister, Ina Mae Freeman of Momence, Ill.; four grandchildren, Stacie Hill of Ripon, Calif, Sheila Rogers of Pauls Valley, Okla., Toy Hill of Bentonville and Kathy Carson of Clarksville; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at Nichols Chapel cemetery in Altus. Arrangements by Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Vergie Holt
DANVILLE — Vergie Holt, 81, of Belleville passed away Monday, Aug. 15, 2011, at Arkansas Heart Hospital.
She was born Dec. 6, 1929 in Waldron to the late Riley H. and Evan Starr Vaughn. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Nolas Hunt and Bryan Holt; brothers, Ed and Otis Vaughn; and sister, Geneva Yandell.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Delbert and Gail Hunt of Abbott; daughters and sons-in-law, Marily and Opal Hom of Danville and Mary Ann and Ray Sims of Searcy; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. today, Aug. 17, 2011, at Egypt Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will be at Hunt cemetery in Tate Town.

Neoma Samples Catlett
(May 2, 1927 - June 19, 2013)
Neoma Samples Catlett, 86, of Booneville, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013 in Booneville, Arkansas. She was born May 2, 1927 in Booneville, Arkansas to Bethel and Blanche (Mercer) Smith.
She was a mother and housewife and was a member of the Lakeview Pentecostal Church near Booneville, Arkansas. She enjoyed volunteering.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Buford Catlett and Hershel Samples and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Roberts Memorial Chapel in Booneville, Arkansas with burial in High Hill cemetery near McAlester, Oklahoma at 2:00 P.M., under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
She is survived by one daughter, Charlotte Samples of Torrance, California and one sister, Linda Sue Taylor of Shafter, California.
Pallbearers will be Frances Preston, Rick mercer, Dennis Jones, Woodrow Weaver, Danny Rhode, and Randy Preston.
Honoary Pallbearers will Bonice Crenshaw and Royes Jones.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7:00 P.M. Monday at Roberts Funeral Home.

Frances Gerbia
Frances Doyle Nordin Gerbia of Whitehouse Station, N.J., died peacefully Friday, Aug. 12, 2011, at home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was 90 years of age.
Born in the Pless community near London, she is the daughter of the late John and Cassandre Nordin and the wife of the late Frank Gebbia Sr. She has resided in Whitehouse Station, N.J. for the past 31/2 years after moving there from Mt. Laurel, N.J. She is a member of the Be Ye Kind Unto Others Bible Group of Faith Presbyterian Church, where she was known for her love of fashionable hats. Frances was a World War II veteran of the Women’s Air Corp.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a loving husband; beloved son, Paul Gebbia; a brother, William J. “Major” Nordin; five sisters, Cassie Sullivan, Ruth Henry, Evelyn Thompson, Laura Miller, and Dorothy Nordin; and a daughter-in-law Diane Gebbia.
She is the loving mother of Frank Jr. (Mary) of New Mexico, Beth Williams (Greg) of Branchburg, N.J., Tom Gebbia of Lynbrook, N.Y., and Barbara Johnson (Sgt. Major Curtis) of New Mexico. She was one of 10 children and is survived by her sisters, Cora Ella Banks of Dardanelle, Pauline Dacus of Russellville and Naomi Newbern of the Pless community near London. She is survived by her nine grandchildren, Tami, Jay, Tina, Keith, Rory, Christopher, Sean, Dana and Laura; her seven great-grandchildren, Daniel, McKenna, Isabella, Devin, Bryce, Terrance, and Nicholas; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at Mt. Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Don Irwin will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel cemetery in London by Humphrey Funeral Service. Full military honors will be provided the Rogers-Rye Post No. 2283 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at the church. There will also be a visitation following the service at the home of her niece, Esther Newbern White, on the original Nordin home place.

Linda M. Hill
(September 3, 1946 - February 17, 2013)
Linda Mahalia Hill, 66, of Booneville, Arkansas, passed from this life on Sunday, February 17, 2013 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born Spetember 3, 1946 in Blount County, Alabama to Oliver Odell and Plumer Carolynn (Hansord) LaRue.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and loved taking care of her family.
She is preceded in death by one brother, Carroll Larue.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the Parkview Baptist Church in Booneville, Arkansas, with burial in Ellington cemetery near Magazine, Arkansas, under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
She is survived by her husband, Sam of the home; one daughter, Tina Hill of Magazine, Arkansas; two sons, Sammy Dale Hill and wife Lisa of Paris, Arkansas and Rusty Hill and wife Kristen of Booneville, Arkansas; two sisters, Cherrill Lewis Magazine, Arkansas and Patsy Lewis of Longview, Texas; one brother, C.E. LaRue of Artesia, New Mexico; twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
The pallbearers will be Sparky Musa, Benny Norris, Kelly Wayne Norris, Dillin Hill, Ryan Hill, and Dakota Hill.
The honorary pallbearers will be Blake Hill Michael Stanley, Brad Hill, Austin Benson, Steve Thomas, and all the grandsons and great grandsons.

Billy Chadwick
DARDANELLE — Billy Sam Chadwick, 64, of Dardanelle died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011, at his home.
He was born July 28, 1947, at San Angelo, Texas to Glen and Doris Keene Chadwick. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years and best friend of 25 years, Mona Chadwick of Dardanelle; his father, Glen Chadwick of Sonora, Texas; two children, Sherry Chadwick and Nelson Chadwick, both of New Mexico; two stepchildren, Reece Simpler of Florida and Krista Washington of Houston, Texas; one sister, Glenna Chadwick of Sonora, Texas; four grandchildren, Brittany, Anthony and Chelsea of New Mexico and Charlotte of Houston, Texas; and many other friends and relatives.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church in Sonora, Texas with Lee Greg Lloyd officiating.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the West Texas Boys Ranch, 10223 Boys Ranch Road, San Angelo, TX 76904.

Connie Tinsley
DANVILLE — Connie Ruth Phillips Tinsley, 44, of Glendale, Ariz., formerly of Havana, passed away Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011, at her home.
She was born Nov. 25, 1966, in Dardanelle to the late Paul and Eva Moats Phillips. She was an Air Force veteran and a Red Cross volunteer. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brothers, Bruce Allen and Dwight Warren Phillips.
Survivors include husband of 23 years, Jeremiah Tinsley; sons, Joshua Tinsley and Jericho Tinsley of the home; siblings and spouses; John and Sandra Phillips of Pottsville, Paulette and James Crabill of Dardanelle, Carrie and Jimmy Graham of Pine Bluff, Jerry and Sonja Phillips of Murfreesboro, Jimmy and Laura Phillips of Kansas and Jason and Sirina Phillips of Havana; and her companions, Abbie, Sadie, Sedona, Penny and Pooh.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, 2011, at Robinson Point Church in Harkey’s Valley. Burial will be at Russell cemetery in Belleville.
Pallbearers include James Crabill, Jason Phillips, Jimmy Phillips, Jamie Robinett, Joshua Tinsley and Jerry Phillips.
