Kenneth Ellis
Kenneth Ray Ellis, 87, a resident of Dover, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, at his home.
He was born Nov. 4, 1923, at Sallisaw, Okla., to Jack M. and Viola Camp Ellis. Kenneth was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran. He retired from the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department District 8 after 30 years of service as a heavy equipment mechanic. Kenneth loved hunting, fishing and being outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Betty Taylor Ellis.
Survivors include a son and his fiancé, Steven Ellis and Sue Jones of Dover; a daughter Charlotte Ellis Teeter of Dover; a sister, Margie Cartwright of Catoosa, Okla.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Harlon and Reba Ellis of Texas and Melvin and Margie Ellis of Sallisaw, Okla.; a sister-in-law, Joyce Steiner of Dover; two brothers-in-law, Paul Taylor of Cabot and David Taylor of Conway; six grandchildren and their spouses, David and Karla Teeter of Russellville, Bradley Teeter and Lisa Haney of Dover, Jennifer and Jason Howard of Pottsville, Kenneth Ellis II of Denver, N.C., Brittney and Darrell Stutzman of Dover and Brian and Erica Ellis of Russellville; and 10 great-grandchildren, Jonathan Teeter, Hannah, Luke and Jake Howard, Cody and Brittany Teeter, Nathaniel Culwell, Zoie Stutzman and Harper and Hastin Ellis.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at the First Assembly of God in Dover with the Rev. Ken Partain and the Rev. Ray Boyd officiating.
Burial with military honors provided by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Rogers-Rye Post No. 2283 will be in Pisgah cemetery near Pottsville under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home of Mountain Home (870) 425-3353.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the First Assembly of God in Dover.
Active pallbearers will include Kenneth Ellis II, David Teeter, Bradley Teeter, Jason Howard, Jonathan Teeter and Cody Teeter. Honorary pallbearers will be the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department retirees, Leon Vaughn, Bill Poynter, Robert Thurlby, M.D., Jim Teeter, his senior companion caregiver, Leona Sayer and the Pope County Health Department Hospice.
Memorials may be made to Pope County Health Department Hospice, 404 North El Paso, Russellville, AR 72801.

Richard Fromdahl
Richard “Dick” Fromdahl, 79, of London died Monday, Aug. 29, 2011 surrounded by his family at his home.
The son of Willard and Mary Fromdahl, he was born July 31, 1932 in Adams County, N.D. Dick was a member of the city council for London. He was also a member of the London First Baptist Church. In his retirement he enjoyed going fishing and playing golf.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sylvia “Boots” Fromdahl; his parents; one daughter Terri Bocksnick Walker; his grandparents Joe and Bertha Wagner; and four brothers.
Left to cherish his memory are six children, Randal Fromdahl and wife, Amy, of Grain Valley, Mo., Dana Fromdahl and wife, Bonnie, of Knoxville, Ricky Bocksnick of London, Shelly Fromdahl Hindman and husband, Greg, of Salina, Kan., Randy Bocksnick and wife, Cindy, of Fort Smith and Rhonda Fromdahl Smith and husband Jeff of London; a companion Kathy Dunaway of Russellville; 31 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Nadine Jennings Benke of Rapid City, S.D. and Joyce Windmueller of Lemmon, S.D.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at Humphrey Chapel. The Rev. Danny Green will officiate.
Pallbearers include Ryan Fromdahl, Erik Fromdahl, Brett Fromdahl, Aimee Bocksnick Erlandson, Jeffrey Hindman, Jared Hindman, Ehren Bocksnick, Christopher Bocksnick, Justin Morris, Derek Morris, Jeffery Smith, and Ryan Smith.
Burial will be at East Point cemetery in Russellville by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice 2405 E. Parkway Dr., Suite 3, Russellville, Arkansas 72802 and the London First Baptist Church Building fund 17 Southern Baptist Road London, AR 72847.

Ila Gene Andrews
Ila Gene Andrews, 82, of Russellville died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 8, 1928, at Dover to Granvil and Mattye Cromwell Tate Johnson. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and worked many years as a bookkeeper for the family business, Andrews and Sons Concrete. She was a great mother and grandmother and was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bervle “B.B.” Andrews; five brothers, Tate, Monroe, R.H., Edward “Ed” and Luther Johnson; two sisters, Pauline Dare and Margaret Irene Andrews.
Survivors include four sons and a daughter-in-law, Boyd Lee Andrews, Stanley Eugene and Iryna Andrews, Terry Randall Andrews and Glenn Dale Andrews, all of Russellville; two grandsons, Christopher Andrews of Russellville and Bryan Andrews of Atkins; and several nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, at Crossroads cemetery near Appleton with the Rev. Redmond Eubanks officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
Pallbearers are Paul Johnson, Jerry Johnson, Mike Johnson, Samuel Andrews, Bryan Andrews and Allen Andrews.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

C.A. Powers
C.A. “Buck” Powers, 81, of Ola passed away Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011, at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
He was born March 21, 1930, in Danville (Moss Creek) to the late Cloyd Asberry and Ruby L. Millsap Powers. He was a Marine veteran and a lifetime member of the Rogers-Rye VFW Post No. 2283 in Russellville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, “Curt” Jim Powers.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Debra Renee and Tim Dees of Broomfield, Colo.; Janice Cloy and Ted Weigand of Florida; Cheryl Lynn and Rick Crawford of Spickard, Mo.; sisters Bernice Wilson of Sand Springs, Okla.; Arlene Morton of Stanville, Ky.; Fern (Midge) and Don Whitlow of Plainview; Selma Caldwell of Canyon County, Calif.; brother Joe P. Powers of Danville; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; special friends Greg Henkel and Kelly Wallace of Clarksville; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at Earl Ladd cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Danville Cornwell Funeral Home. The family will have a gathering after the service at Don and Midge Whitlow’s home, south of Salem Church on Salem Road.
Pallbearers include Wesley Powers, Joe P. Powers, Ritchie Powers, Jerry Mize, Dolan Charton, Donny Wilson, Chris Wilson and Greg Henkel.

Edna Ann Furr
Edna Ann Furr, 63, of Soddy Daisy, Tenn., went to be in the arms of Jesus on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, in Hixson, Tenn.
She was born Dec. 12, 1947, in Gunnison, Miss. She was a homemaker, a loving sister, mother and grandmother. She was active in the Church of Christ faith, clubs and military service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Columbus Furr, and her brother, James Warren.
Survivors include her son, Virgel T. (Jodi) Furr of Soddy Daisy, Tenn.; daughter, Alicia (Jim) Sherril of Dover; brothers, John Warren of Pontoctoc, Miss., and George Warren of Greenville, Miss.; and several grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, at North New Hope cemetery in Dover with Rev. Micah Williams officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home in Clarksville.

Ruby Dugger
Ruby Nell Geurian Dugger, 88, of Paducah, Ky., formerly of Dardanelle, died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011, at her home.
She was born Dec. 10, 1922 in Dardanelle to the late Fleming and Sarah Adcock Roberts. She was of the Presbyterian faith and was retired from Phillips Petroleum Company. She also worked at Bell South in Overland Park, Kan.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gus Geurian; her second husband, C. Leo Dugger; one sister; and two brothers.
Survivors include one son, Gus Geurian (Meriam) of Paducah, Ky.; one step-son, Doug Dugger (Joyce) of Overland Park, Kan.; two brothers, Junior Roberts and J.D. Roberts, both of Dardanelle; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at New Hope Baptist Church cemetery in Dardanelle. There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home in Dardanelle.

Chuck Hannay
Chuck Victor Hannay, 44, of Pottsville died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, at River Valley Medical Center.
He was born March 18, 1967, in Painesville, Ohio, to Frank Eugene and Dorothy Edwards Brown. He was a Christian, a member of the MSAA and a member of the Disabled Hunters Association. He loved fishing. He put together wheelchair basketball tournaments to raise money for MS research and he built ramps for wheelchairs for disabled persons. Most of all, he loved his family.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Edwards Hannay; his adopted dad, Jack Hannay; a sister, Christine Brown; and a nephew, Riquelme Hannay.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Hannay of Pottsville; his father, Frank Brown and wife Barbara of Mountain Home; eight children, Faith Ann, Joseph, Genti, Nikki, Lance, Miranda, Alyssa and Tommy; grandmother, Lillian Brown of Ohio; two sisters, Christel Hannay of Russellville and Shannon Brown of Ohio; three brothers, Will Hannay of Kansas, Johnny Hannay of Texas and Robert Bennett of Mena; eight grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Assembly of God Church in Dardanelle with Bro. Eric Martin officiating.
Burial will be in New Hope cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joseph, Tommy, Lance, Frank, Will and Johnny. Honorary pallbearer will be Robert Bennett.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cornwell Funeral Home, 207 Quay Street, Dardanelle, AR 72834 to offset funeral costs.

Grace Franklin
CLARKSVILLE — Grace Annette Franklin, 93, of Clarksville died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011.
She was born Sept. 27, 1917, in Kentucky to the late Peter Dellridge and Mary Louise Allison Furgerson. She attended the Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She is survived by two sons, James Franklin of Sebring, Fla., and Randy Franklin of Centralia, Wash.; one daughter, Vereen Lynn Kennelly of Clarksville; two sisters, Shirley Simerly of Michigan and Twilla Matties of Virginia; 10 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are by Hardwicke Funeral Home in Clarksville.

Mary Marcum
DARDANELLE — Mary Elizabeth Marcum, 89, of Casa died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011 at Mitchell’s Nursing Home in Danville.
She was born June 12, 1922, in Perry County to the late James William and Della B. Shepherd Hayes. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Casa and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eric L. Marcum; one daughter, Nona Sue Honeycutt; and one grandson, Ronald Honeycutt.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Marcum and wife Linda of DeBerry, Texas; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. today at the Assembly of God Church in Casa with Bro. Denver Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Birta cemetery.
Visitation was Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are the grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, make memorials to Arkansas Children’s Hospital Foundation, 1 Children’s Way, Slot 661, Little Rock, AR 72202.
