Effie Boen
CLARKSVILLE — Effie Armentha Boen, 86, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, at her home.
She was a cook for Oark Public Schools, daughter of the late Suel M. and Sarah J. James Stepp, widow of W.T. Boen and was of the Pentecostal faith. Mrs. Boen enjoyed quilting. She was preceded in death by a brother, Efton Stepp; and two sisters, Anna Hammons and Gladys Case.
Survivors include a son, Odell Boen of Clarksville; daughters, Fay Knuckles and husband, Joe, of Lamar, and Kay Davis and husband, James, of Fallsville; a brother, Reuben Stepp of Clarksville; a sister, Elva M. Boen of Tulsa, Okla.; a great-aunt, Iva Moore of Lamar; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Salus Free Holiness Church with the Rev. Clayton Rylee and the Rev. Robert Boen officiating. Burial will be in Rosetta cemetery at Ozone by Roller-Cox Funeral Service.
Pallbearers:
Active — Glenn Stepp, Keith Stepp, Dolen Stepp, Ronnie Stepp, Ed Kimbriel and Cordell Harderson.
Honorary — Hearl Boen, Christopher Boen, Brent Cook, Lane Davis, Dawson Boen and Delorn Stepp.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday.

Idella Robertson
DANVILLE — Idella “Blanche” Robertson of Havana died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, at Mitchell’s Nursing Home.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Cornwell Funeral Home.

Omar O. White
Omar O. White, 88, of Russellville, formerly of Clarksville, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2006.
He was a native of Neodesha, Kan., a graduate of Weleetka (Okla.) High School and a former employee in the Seminole oil fields. He served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Campaign with the 32nd Division, 127th Infantry and was the recipient of two Purple Hearts, Bronze Star and the Combat Infantryman’s Badge. Mr. White was a former owner/operator of a cold storage facility in Clarksville. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Fulbright White.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Balkman White; a stepson, Bob Balkman; two grandsons; a great-grandchild; two nephews, Gary and Brian Stewart; five great-nieces; and two great-nephews.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Clarksville Church of Christ. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. Arrangements are by Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Duane Steele, Norman Sexton, Brian Stewart Jr., Brad Stewart, Robert Taylor and Chris Taylor.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Georgia Lawrence
ATKINS -- Georgia Mae Lawrence, 86, of Morrilton died Wednesday, June 14, 2006, at her home.
She was born June 2, 1920, in Atkins, daughter of the late Jim and Viola Mae Duvall Byrum. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Morrilton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Lawrence; and four brothers, Fred, Johnny, Woody and Luke Byrum.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gerald "Pedro" and Barbara Lawrence of Lanty; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Sue and Sam Gibby of Morrilton; six grandchildren, Wayne Lawrence, Letricia Ritter, Kyla Kordsmeier, Vance Howard, Ronald Gibby and Rebecca Erwin; 16 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lemley Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David Bishop, the Rev. Eudell Stroud and the Rev. Trent Gabbard officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Albert Kordsmeier, Tim Erwin, Ronald Gibby, Mike Lovell, Ray Ibarra and Carl Ring.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday.

Marlene Via
DARDANELLE -- Marlene Yvvone Via, 69, of Ola died Wednesday, June 14, 2006, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Cornwell Chapel. Burial will be in Birta cemetery. Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 6-8 tonight.

Nina Stewart
DARDANELLE -- Nina Johnston Horine Stewart, 80, of Dardanelle died Wednesday, June 14, 2006, at Dardanelle Hospital.
Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home.

Mary Caldwell
DANVILLE -- Mary Lee Caldwell, 91, of Belleville died Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at Saline Memoriali Hospital in Benton.
Born April 6, 1915, in Belleville, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Frances Few Smith. She was a homemaker and mother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dow Caldwell; a brother, Ben Smith; and a stepdaughter, Anna Sue Flippin.
Survivors include two daughters, Frances Walker of Benton and Carol Duncan of Belleville; stepchildren, Dale Caldwell of Texas and Mary Keck of Alaska; five grandchildren, Wayne Walker and Lewis Walker of Benton, Michelle Fowler of Danville, Gary Noblett of Belleville and Chris Noblett of North Little Rock; six great-grandchildren; 13 stepgreat-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Cornwell Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Russell cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home.
Visitation is open.

Eli Tejera Perez
August 6, 1936 - December 11, 2011
Eli Tejera Perez, Sr., 75, of Ward, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 11, 2011. He was born August 6, 1936 in Magueyes, Barceloneta, Puerto Rico, to the late Oscar and Silvestra Tejera Perez. Eli was a member of Jesus Name Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Beebe and the American Legion Searcy Post 0350. He served in the U.S. Navy and was employed by American Motors for 31 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Oscar Perez and three grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Digna Perez, his children, Eli Perez, Jr., Roy Perez, Denise Whitfield, Doris Perez, David Perez, Danny Perez, Lynette Green and Renny Perez, 21 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6:00-9:00 p.m., Friday, December 16, 2011 at Jesus Name Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, 505 N. Apple Street in Beebe. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the church with Bishop Dr. John Scheel and Pastor Jason E. Scheel officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens in Beebe. Arrangements are by Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home and Crematory (501) 843-5816.

Rachel Burfield
DANVILLE -- Rachel Burfield, 84, of Ola died Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville.
Born Dec. 4, 1921, in Danville to Albert and Dora Ann Pledger Noblett, she was a cook at Ola Nursing Home and Mimas Cafe. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Edward Fay Rose and Ralph Burfield.
Survivors include sons, Charles Rose of Centerville, Larry Rose of Birta, Carroll Rose, Jimmy Rose, Danny Burfield and Randy Burfield, all of Ola; daughters, Charlene Rainey of Casa, Brenda Treadwell of Ola, Debbie Holt of Centerville; 22 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Morse, Mamie Rogers, both of Belleville, and Josie Ross of Plainview.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Assembly of God Church in Ola with Rev. Norman Chenowith officiating. Burial will be in Sandlin cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville.
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. today.

Woodrow Hale
Woodrow Wilson Hale, 94, of Russellville, went to be with the Lord and the love of his life, Norma, on Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
The son of Jesse and Alice (Whorton) Hale, he was born June 28, 1912 in Johnson County. He was a member of the London Assembly of God Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Norma Gladys (Bell) Hale; his parents; and four sisters.
He is survived by three sons, W.D. Hale of Russellville, Joey Don Hale and wife Marvell of Texarkana, Texas, Delbert Hale and wife Judith of North Little Rock; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 21, at London Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Jerry Schlinker and the Rev. C.R. Young officiating. Burial will be at Booher cemetery at Russellville by Humphrey Funeral Service.
Open visitation will be 5-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to London Assembly of God Church.

Mary Elizabeth Peters
June 12, 1934 - December 9, 2011
Mary Elizabeth Gutierrez Peters, 77, of Cabot, died Friday, December 9, 2011. She was born June 12, 1934 in Roswell, New Mexico to the late Raymond and Anne Sedillo Montoya Gutierrez. Mary attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and was a beautiful mother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Cloyce Edward Peters and a sister, Margie Moore.
Mary is survived by her husband, Robert Edwards Peters of Cabot, her four daughters, Elizabeth Carlson of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Cynthia Carson of Batesville, Arkansas, Gina Blackburn of Lincoln, Nebraska and Mary Bellamy of Cabot, four sisters, Cecilia Hoogerhuis, Reynalda Romero, Anadina Madala and Frances Velez, ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be in the Chapel of Moore’s Cabot Funeral home, with Rex Blasingame officiating. Burial will follow in Old Austin cemetery. Arrangements are by Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home (501) 843-5816.

ATKINS -- Euel Wayne Hassel, 59, of Scottsville died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at Augusta, Georgia.
