Ralph McKnight
Ralph McKnight, age 73 of Russellville died Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009, at his home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, at the Shinn Chapel. Burial will be in the Old Baptist cemetery near Center Valley under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

William Hull
William “Bill” Hull, 79, of Hector died Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009 at Arkansas Hospice in Little Rock.
The son of William and Maggie Tilley Hull, he was born Dec. 14, 1929 in Scottsville, Ark.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, at Langford cemetery in Scottsville. Reverend Herbert Tilley will officiate. Burial will follow by Humphrey Funeral Service.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9 at the funeral home.

Johnnie Tapp
Johnnie M. Chappell Tapp, 84, a resident of Russellville, died Monday, Sept. 7, 2009, at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 23, 1924, in Havana to James Henry and Ruth Robbins Chappell. She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Dean Tapp; three brothers; and a sister.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Gene Tapp of Russellville; a son, Eugene Tapp of Russellville; a daughter-in-law; four sisters; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside service and burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009, at Moore’s Chapel cemetery in Waveland under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
The visitation room will be open until 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Robert Bewley
Robert Cecil “Bigun” Bewley of Waverly, Kan., was born July 2, 1948, in Russellville to Aaron Vester Bewley Jr., and Hilda Marriott-Bewley. Robert passed peacefully with his family by his side Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, at the Kansas City Hospice House.
Robert’s love and generosity for his family and numerous friends was endless. He was deeply involved in his stepchildren, nieces, nephews and grandchildren’s lives. He was their champion. Robert left this life with one last act of love and kindness by giving the gift of sight through a donation to the Heartland Lyon Eye Bank.
By trade Robert was a pipe fitter, carpenter and horseman. He was involved in many associations including the Coffee County Rural Water Board, American Quarter Horse, National Cutting Horse, and United States Team Roping Championships. In addition, he was a longtime supporter of both Kansas and Arkansas high school rodeo. His love for horses was shared with everyone he knew. Robert worked with prominent horse trainers Jack Newton, Lanny Ashley, Cletus Hulling, John Wilkins, David Kerr and Bob Hurley. He cowboyed for Nolke Ranch in west Texas and Mescalero Apache reservation in New Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his father, Aaron Vester Bewley Jr.; stepfather, Wilbert Combs; stepsister, Ruth Branch; and brother, Steve Bewley.
Robert is survived by his wife, Nola Hively-Bewley; mother, Hilda Bewley-Combs; brother, Alan Bewley; stepbrother, Wes Combs; stepsisters, Eileen Coker, Louise King and Mary Hamilton; stepson, Seth Hively; stepdaughter, Angela Mohajir-Charlton; stepdaughter-in-law, Renee Hively; stepson-in-law, Jerry Charlton; nieces, Amanda and Jessica Bewley; nephews, Gary Wayne Bewley and James Darter; sister-in-law, Shawna Shepherd; grandchildren, Skyler and Rawlin Hively, and Jacob Mohajir; greatnephews, Brandon Bewley and Gavin Williams; and greatniece, Alexis Hargrove.
Two celebrations of Robert’s life will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, at the Saint Francis Xavier Parish Hall, Burlington, Kan., followed by 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12 at The First Baptist Church, Pottsville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Robert Bewley Kansas High School Rodeo Association Memorial and sent in care of Citizen’s State Bank, 407 Arrowhead Street, New Strawn, KS 66839-8964.

Jerry McGee Jr.
DARDANELLE — Jerry Fred McGee Jr., went to be with his heavenly father Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009. He was 47 years old. Jerry lived and worked in Little Rock but his heart never left his homeplace, Dardanelle. Jerry was a family man and father who will never be replaced in those hearts left behind. He was a 1980 graduate of Dardanelle High School, following with a degree from Arkansas Tech University in 1984. He worked for Professor Bowl Inc., his entire adult life and became the backbone of the facility and was admired and respected by all.
Jerry married Cynthia (Cindy) Millard in 1984 and together they went on to raise four outstanding young men. Jerry loved his family more than life itself and proved that with the daily dedication and determination that he used each day of his life as their provider, mentor and guide.
He is surviveid by Cindy and their sons, Jerry Fred III, Travis Blake, Jacob Ezra and Jared Riley; his parents, Jerry Fred Jr. and Betty Pfeifer McGee of Dardanelle; a sister, Mary Ellen McGee of Little Rock; a sister, Vicki (Bob) Crow of North Little Rock; a brother, Jeffrey McGee of Dardanelle; nephews, Christopoher Knowles, Rick Millard and Matt Millard; nieces, Lisa Crow and Melanie Catron; and a host of friends.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, at Cornwell Chapel with Brother Tom McElmurry officiating. Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight at Cornwell Chapel.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff McGee, Dave Gibson, Jack Robertson, Keith Millard, Bob Crow, Rick Thone, Rick Millard, Matt Millard and Christopher Knowles.
In lieu of flowers, an account has been opened for Jerry’s children at Metropolitan National Bank in Little Rock.
Jerry will be remembered as a reserved, yet fiercely loyal person and will never depart our hearts.

Marsha Cross
ATKINS — Marsha Lynn Cross, 51, of North Little Rock died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.
She was born Nov. 1, 1957, in Atkins, daughter of the late Jackie and Earleen Duvall Coffman. Marsha was a preschool teacher and a member of Central Church of Christ in Little Rock.
She is survived by her husband, Eddie Cross; son, David Cross; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and John Monagle, all of North Little Rock; and a brother, David Lee Coffman of Russellville.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, at Lemley Chapel with Leon Barnes officiating. Burial will be at Shady Grove cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.

Mike Treadwell
DANVILLE — Mike Lee Treadwell, 58, of Ola died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, at his home.
He was born May 1, 1951, in Heavener, Okla., to Floyd and Elsie Hart Treadwell. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jamie Phillip Treadwell; a sister, Betty Sumpter; and brothers, Jim and Bob Treadwell.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Brenda Treadwell; sons and daughter-in-law, Jeffery and Becca Treadwell of Ola, and Cody Treadwell of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Stacie and Doug Morrell of Centerville; four grandchildren, Grant and Grayson Morrell and Ashley and Hunter Treadwell; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jewell and Penrose Hubler of Gore, Okla., Janie and Harris Moore of Tulsa, Okla., and Wanda Ritter of Plainview; a brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Geralynn Treadwell of Gore, Okla.; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, at Plainview Assembly of God Church with Bishop Gerald Treadwell and Brother Mike Gullett officiating. Burial will be in Sandlin cemetery. Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Paul Brothers, Stephen Brothers, Danny Burfield, Randy Burfield, Tim Rainey, Carroll Rose, Larry Rose and Rex Treadwell.
Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight.

Dr. Charles Boyce
Charles Clay Boyce, D.D.S., age 66, a resident of Russellville, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at St. Vincent Doctors Hospital in Little Rock.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, at the Shinn Chapel. Burial will be private in Brearley cemetery at Dardanelle under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Randy Lemley
ATKINS — Jack R. “Randy” Lemley, 68, of Atkins died Sunday evening at his home in Atkins.
Funeral arrangements and memorial fund information are currently pending.

Mary Rhineheart
Mary W. (Russell) Rhineheart, 88, of Midway died Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, in Midway.
She was born July 13, 1921, in Russellville to Robert Lee and Ruby Lee (Williamson) Russell. Mary was a homemaker and attended The Midway Assembly of God Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Alton W. Rhineheart; a son, Cletis Rhineheart; a granddaughter, Roxanna Rhineheart; and a companion, Slim Williams.
She is survived by two sons, Joe Rhineheart and wife Sheila of Little Rock and David Rhineheart and wife Rita of Paris; two daughters, Phyllis Cauldwell of Maumelle and Ruth Ellen Rieder of Subiaco; a brother, Bob Boyd of Bella Vista; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Garland Cravens.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at The Midway Assembly of God Church with burial at Hickory Grove cemetery in Paris.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Roller Funeral home Chapel in Paris.
Pallbearers are Larry Needham, Wesley White, Doug Reynolds, Larry Parsons, Harold Davison and Larry Joe Walker.
Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.

Tillman Newman
Tillman “Gene” Newman, 71, of Van Buren died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009.
A retired mechanical engineer for Tyson Poultry Company and received his engineering degree from the University of Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Gail Newman.
He is survived by a daughter, Crissie Newman of New York; four sons, Bart Langley of Russellville, Robbie Newman of Minnesota and John and Michael Newman, both of New York; a brother, Myles Newman of Van Buren; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
